The only reason Brian got to be Aurora's pilot is because Aurora and Brian have a deep mutual understanding of what it's like when you have your entire hull/body replaced by metal and a code planted into you that can override your own sentient thoughts. Its also why, after Nastya goes Out, Brian is the only one allowed to do repairs on her
