First post here! Welcome to this wood carving and wood loving journey of mine. We’re gonna start in medias res.
This week I’ve tried to make some wooden jewelry, or wooden bangles to be more precise. I mostly carve spoons and kitchen utensils so trying out new forms like this is a nice surprise for my skills and imagination every once in a while.
These are now roughly shaped and put away to dry. Once they’ve been dried they’re ready for final shaping and finishing cuts with a very sharp blade. I love the patterns of spalting in this particular piece of birch I’ve worked with. It makes for a lovely contrast between light and dark areas and adds some texture and depth.

I've had this idea sketched out for several years (check out my user icon, which hasn't changed since I made this account 😉 ), and I am excited to finally sit down and finish it! Here's a close-up of the Rosohna and Xhorhaus panel on page 2.
