Summary: Kou quickly loses a rematch with Hanako. But Hanako won’t let him be a sore loser.

“What did you just say?” Hanako questioned. The wind on the rooftop of the school making some leaves fly across the ground in dramatic effect.

“Come at me. I dare you.” Kou stood his ground. Planting his feet firmly and holding his fists up in a fighting stance. Needless to say, he looked kind of silly. In Hanako’s opinion at least.

“Oh~ you’re really picking a fight with me?” Hanako flew up to Kou’s face almost causing Kou to flinch, but he kept himself still despite the uncomfortable popping of his personal space bubble.

“Do you not remember what happened last time? And that was when you had your staff.” Hanako gave Kou a boop to his nose. Kou glared at the spirit in front of him. “Like I said. Come at me. I dare you.”

In all honesty, he wasn’t that enraged. He was more so… bored. Bored and annoyed with Hanako. He thought if he could beat him in a fight that maybe he could get some respect from the specter.

“If you say so~” Hanako shrugged before rushing forward at the speed of light. Kou yelped, not ready for the quickness of the ghost. Kou stumbled back a bit when they collided. Hand in hand each trying to get the other one off balance. Hanako smiled the whole time, his feet not even touching the ground.

Within a few minutes, Kou found himself on the ground in the same position as their last fight. Admitting defeat, Kou laid flat on his back, arms outstretched palms to the sky.

“Gotcha again~” Hanako teased, making himself comfortable on Kou’s thighs. Even going as far to lean forward on his elbows, each one on the side of Kou’s waist. His face inches away from Kou’s. Kou didn’t say anything and just turned his face to the side.

“Aww c’mon. Don’t be a sore loser.” Hanako say up, using Kou’s sides to push himself up. A strangled squeak filled the silent roof, Kou slapping his hands across his lips. Hanako smirked. Oh this was going to be fun.

“Lemme see that smile, Minamoto!” Hanako moved his hands to start squeezing at the sensitive skin on Kou’s sides. Kou gasped and grabbed onto Hanako’s wrists.

“N-Noho! Stohop it!” Kou gripped onto the ghost and tried his hardest to keep his giggles at bay. It was a pretty hard task. Kou was… very ticklish. To say the least.

“Aww~ is the little exorcist a little ticklish?” Hanako teased moving his hands up to Kou’s ribs. This caused loud laughter to pierce the air around them. “Or should I say really ticklish! My gosh, Kou, you’re super ticklish aren’t you?” Hanako continued to squeeze and prod in between each ticklish bone.

Counting each rib out loud one by one to make Kou squeal and squirm with each tickle and squeeze. He even “lost count” a few times just to start over again and again. Kou stopped gripping Hanako’s wrists and resorted to trying his hardest to squeeze his arms against his sides. But all efforts to stop Hanako’s tickly hands would be useless.

“HAHAHAHAHAHANAHAKOHOHOHO! STAHAHAP! PLEHEHEHEASE!” Kou’s legs kicked against the ground. Hanako just giggled along, kneading circles into the most ticklish parts of Kou’s ribs. Even going as far as to wiggle the fingers that were on his back.

“STAHAHAHAHAHA! NAHAHAHAHAHA!” “Sorry I could understand that. Maybe a new spot will help?” Hanako removed his hands giving the poor exorcist a break. The break was short lived when he felt electricity run all up and down his legs.

“Nohohohoho! Nahat the knehehehees!” Kou squealed. His knees always made him let out the most adorably squeal filled giggles according to his older brother. Hanako just giddily laughed as he watched his friend crumble beneath his ghostly ticklish touch.

“You gotta admit this is a pretty cute weakness to have Mr. Exorcist~” Hanako started to scribble underneath Kou’s knees. Kou arched his back with a loud laugh. He reached forward kicking his legs, trying to push Hanako off of him. His strength was depleted, leaving his arms to struggle even lifting themselves off the ground.

“StahahAHAHAHAP! PLEHEHEHEHEASE! Heheheheheheh! Nohohohoho!” Kou couldn’t focus on anything other than how fucking bad it tickled. Hanako alternating between squeezing the tops of his knees and scribbling the underside. This left Kou victim in stitches and his face a blaze.

After a few more minutes of knee tickles and teases, Hanako stopped and rested his hands on his lap. He still sat on Kou’s waist as he gaped for breath.

“Yohou. Ahahare soho dead. That wahas so mehehean.” Kou’s stomach moved up and down as each breath seemed deeper than the last. His lungs selfishly breathing in all the air they could, as if Hanako could take any. Hanako simply chuckled and floated above his friend. Reaching a hand forward to help the, at first, reluctant Kou. Kou stood up with Hanako’s help, refusing to look into his eyes as he crossed his arms.

“What?! You said I dare you remember.” Hanako hovered next to Kou and gave him a quick scribble to the side. Kou yelped and slapped at the ghostly hand.

“Shuhut up.” He said sternly, but unable to hide the giggle in his voice. Hanako just smiled and wrapped his arms around Kou’s shoulder. A thing he did often to show his appreciation and affection towards the people he considered friends. Kou rolled his eyes and patted him on the head. Maybe one day he’ll be able to beat Hanako in a fight. But for now, he didn’t seem to mind losing as much as he used to.

Aoi

Not many people tickle her, but to those brave enough to try she’ll give a little lady-like laugh that’s so enchanting it repels them like a tidal wave of pure goodness

Of course, her real laugh (which probably only Nene, Akane, and maybe Teru know about) is much more snorty and pitchy and desperate <3 also a little nasally, or sounds like she’s talking with a stuffy nose and it’s adorable in a goofy way

She will also name-call the flip out of anyone who tks her (not that she hates it that’s just how she is)

Will probably not tickle people very often, but thinks it’s fun to watch people squirm and scream for mercy, so calm but completely evil

Her fav lee is Nene bc she thinks her reactions are funny (used to be Akane but It’s Complicated)

Nene

Turns into a completely evil gremlin when given the opportunity to tk someone. She may be a sweet-looking girl but she is merciless and surprisingly mighty (let Nene be a punk and beat people up agenda!!!)

Squeals and kicks and turns completely red when tk-ed or tk is mentioned; embarrassingly enough, her ankles are most ticklish

Poor thing will make up excuses not to tickle her like “My laugh is too loud!” and “My face isn’t cute!” and people will want to tickle her more to prove her wrong (please let my girl be happy)

People see her and just want to tickle her. And they will. She can’t escape. It’s the main character effect

Sakura (MY PRETTIEST GIRL EVER!!!!!)

Definitely not much of a ler, but when she is she approaches it with such scientific intensity that it’s actually scary

She’s very sweet and very gentle, honestly, but it’s entirely offset by how terrifying and mysterious she is

Ticklish but exceptional at hiding her reactions from dealing with Tsukasa. If you remind her that she can laugh, you may be able to get a few giggles out of her, unless you’re Natsuhiko

Sensitive in very unusual places, so nobody knows about it

Kou

He’s super bony and all of them are ticklish

Embarrassed because he feels like being tickled weakens his coolness factor (will literally cave instantly if any of his friends ask him to tk him)

Likes to tickle people to cheer them up, always very playful, will also do the tk while acting tough if someone is being bratty (usually Hanako or Mitsuba)

Nene tks him because!!! He's her sweet underclassman!! (more content for them please)

Akane

You can drag him kicking and screaming to his tklish grave

No his laughs aren’t even cute he just screeches like a bald eagle when someone approaches with Threatening intent (usually Teru or one of the Clock Keepers)

Would rather beat people with bats than tk them, but he will tickle out of revenge (usually Teru). Treats it like a war for subjugation, way too hot-headed for the silliness that is tiggle

Teru

Same as Aoi as a lee

Will literally exorcise you if you find out he’s tklish. Even if you’re alive. He needs that to stay buried

Loves tkling his siblings, really just wants them to be happy, but he never gets to bc exorcist duties (poor guy is lonely)

Sumire (I think I have a crush on her…)

I actually think she’s the biggest ler of this franchise (too bad she only appears for one arc)

Would tk Hakubo all the time even tho he never laughed (his expression would maybe turn slightly more embarrassed and that was enough for her)

Would also try to get him to tk her but he literally did not understand. She would ask straight up and he would think she was just weird (he grants her her wish after she’s sacrificed and resurrected in his boundary bc he regrets ignoring her when she was alive)

Could you do an analysis on the train scene between Hanako and Aoi? I was surprised that Hanako asked Aoi about how her life was like.

A lovely question!! Thanks for asking! I adore Hanako in this scene!! We so rarely get to see Hanako interact with new people... such a treat that him and Aoi get more than a brief intersection. What guarded little beasts they both are.

…. to start, I want to begin on Hanako's circumstantial (and pointed) use of honorifics.

Generally speaking, Hanako refers to others in an exceptionally rude way. He never uses honorifics with anybody, a symbol of himself being fundamentally above them, as 7ban-sama. He refers to Nene as Yashiro. It's neither her given name-- so it's detached/distant, not too friendly-- and it's lacking honorifics, making it overly-familiar. For Kou, he actually avoids even using his name entirely, just calling him 'shounen'. It's even more distant/disrespectful. I would even call it dehumanizing, with Kou-- saying 'you don't even deserve me using your name'. This is the gradient Hanako has for our mains. Hanako always delivers a clear message in how he sees others, by how he refers to them. He is never concerned with consequences of rudeness... because he is 7ban-sama, he is above everyone. THE TYRANT BOY-KING!

In Picture Perfect, while attempting to woo Yashiro, and while acting 'normal'… Hanako switches to the polite 'Yashiro-san', referring to her as another classmate would. (Weirdly enough he doesn't actually extend this courtesy to others? He uses simply Yamabuki and Minamoto for Kou and Lemon…. I guess even as the ~polite~ Amane-kun, he can't help himself but be particular and exclusive.... it's uh, a step-up from 'shounen' though....)

Which is what people like Akane typically call her. Kou uses Yashiro-senpai 'cuz she's older than him…..

Once he breaks character, he switches right back to Yashiro, dropping the 'san'. This is our immediate confirmation he is Hanako, because only Hanako would ever refer to her in this way. A creepy stinger.

....Nene is a normal girl of course, so Hanako is the only friend to have ever called her Yashiro. A familiar friend would call her Nene, or Nene-chan.

… for Aoi, Hanako uses "Aoi-chan", which is cutesy, but in the context of what he's saying, what he's doing, and the control he has over her… it has a sortof condescending, demeaning, feeling to it. He's using an affectionate, childish honorific. For Yashiro, while telling her about his crimes, he is using it to be intentionally upsetting-- the contrast of this cute honorific with what he is saying.

….. so what is the general vibe of him using it, here? How does it feel for Aoi?

My Amane has a nice post about Hanako's upsetting grin, which is as on-blast in this scene as it is in any where he's being knowingly creepy.

…… it's worth it for this scene as well to reflect on, that in the previous encounter between these two, Aoi threw Hanako and Nene into the well. This is the last Hanako she saw.

…..so I think Hanako's 'friendly' behavior in this scene, playing cordial, guiding her, using a diminutive honorific, is meant as a kind of power display, as well as a kind of "I'm the mature one here. Silly thing who acted out…. but you're just a little girl, after all, and I am 7ban-sama." He is acting as Aoi's warden. Simply seeing one another again after the dramatic departure… you can see how Hanako's behavior is pretty jovial. Hey girl, you didn't do shit to me, actually.

"I'm such a good sport about that shit you pulled. Now I'll politely shepherd you to the Far Shore, where you belong. Tsk tsk." By not being at all aggressive, or agitated with her, or even quiet and ominous, he actually asserts more power and confidence. He can diminish her outburst into a small, meaningless brief inconvenience, like a kid acting out. "Here I am again… what good was all that acting out? Ah, nothing, but that's okay....." using 'Aoi-chan' helps further this feeling.

… I think as Aoi is Nene's friend…. he's got his own modest curiosity about her. Why not take this opportunity to finally talk to Yashiro's friend, someone who Hanako could never communicate with, before? While I'm here, making sure you make it to the slaughterhouse....

I think he expects her to simply go on about her regrets or life-- which he would not cherish personally, but would feel is a kindness to offer her in these final moments (makes him both look good and positions her as the pitiable one), and perhaps he could gain something out of this being Yashiro's little friend. Learn a little something about Yashiro's life. Watch a girl cry. Feel appropriately like a monster, because he is one, and he 'doesn't care'. Hanako is emotionally detached from the situation enough to be able to entertain conversation, and take in whatever Aoi feels or says. After all, Hanako is pretty pleased when people threaten him, call him out, or are upset with him. He enjoys when being a kaii creates a distance between himself and others, when he gets to be the indifferent spectator to the living's pitiable troubles. Feeling that comfortable distance and perhaps disdain emanating from humans…. it matches with his self-image and self-hatred. It matches with his sense of isolation, which is comforting to him-- a person who is nothing but upset by his own emotions of love, his own humanity. A person who has given up on his 'humanity', who refuses to see himself as 'human'. To Hanako....It's the correct way to feel about him. He's happy to invite Aoi to spill at him, whether the results are her being resentful, angry….. or sad, miserable… or listless, dreary…. I think Hanako would be satisfied either way, and feels he has nothing at all to dread from inviting Aoi to talk.

…but all things considered, Hanako and Aoi are oddly similar individuals in their detachment, misanthropy, and habit of looking down on others around them. They are both perpetual liars, too… even to Nene specifically! And even specifically, to their respective beloveds, of course. This dynamic is so fascinating-- and Hanako himself is continuously caught off-guard by Aoi, who exudes a carefree facade-grin that rivals his own. If he's expecting a clear delineation between himself as a Godlike all-powerful kaii and the measly mortal Aoi…. he will not find it. … for this whole scene, Aoi is correctly reading Hanako, seeing herself in him. His cheery facade, his polite front, his lack of expressing true feelings….. Aoi is perfectly familiar with Hanako's cadence, and what he is doing. Godbless her, she turns this around on him, and pinpoints his weakspot with precision. She already knows him and Yashiro's silly little will-they-won't-they dance. Hanako is funny to her, and she doesn't see him as the indomitable inhuman kaii Hanako would like to be seen as…..

taste of your own medicine, boy!!!!

I'm sure those final glances Hanako shot to Aoi in the well told her everything, about his possessiveness of Yashiro, his similarity to Akane in some way….. ah, this protective guy. Clearly loves Nene... but hasn't told her so.

Hanako went into this, I think, hoping to get to feel like a little alien, get to voyueristically watch a human go through the emotions he ~knows all too well and has observed with indifference for decades....

... but just gets a humbling moment of being related to.... the general series thesis to disprove Hanako's belief systems regarding himself (and kaii+human's being meaningfully different in their nature at all!) is really strong, in this scene. Hanako will not be rewarded with comfortable distance. This stupid little power-display doesn't go how he assumed. He will instead be humbled and have a moment of sincere relatability with this normal human girl who struggles with love and sincerity. So cute, isn't it? The imposing 7ban-sama is no different from a humble emotionally stunted high-school girl with a childhood crush she can't confront.... he had such a hubris starting this conversation! He didn't expect Aoi to be able to move him, or want to relate to him.

...... and with that all out of the way, let's just appreciate this difficult fussy little Amane.... ♥

the epitome of emotionally constipated 13 year old.... such a normal boy. He likes to think of himself as different from the living... different from the Amane he was in life.... but that boy couldn't even tell his own twin brother I love you. As in life, so in death.... ah, Amane.... ♥

well Kou, for me, I don't really care for him, I'm not entirely attached to him and I think his switched sides early in the series was a bit off considering he was raised off of it, I know he was pushed away from the exercist life style and was confused, but with how passionate he can be, why is he so much more attached to believing supernaturals are nice? when his own family, says otherwise, when he's been explicitly told how evil they can be and how much they just manipulate, so you can believe they're good, this is why I am personally more attached to pilot Kou, because he is much more solid and honestly I enjoy how he acts on screen more, and I honestly really enjoyed how the pre toilet gang was😭 Nene being her confident I don't take shit and this is how I feel self and Kou I know you're up to something but I'm here to protect my senpai self, they were SO FUNNY

as much as current Kou is a deep character who is written as, well, a confused fourteen year old, who wished he had more of a connection with his brother. he jumped at the idea of friends, except he doesn't really have any? he didn't bond with Mitsuba, he doesn't consider his classmates Satou and Yokoo as friends. and I suppose he doesn't do much to have a strong friendship with Hanako, but let's be real, he is friends with him, and not just for Nene, even if it started out as keeping her safe, in the young exercist arc, and in the 4pm bookstacks arc, he claims it's also about Hanako now. inturn I think whatever Kou claims is bullshit, like hell he's going to the boundary in the current arc for Nene and just to keep his promise, even Teru says he thinks Kou has other priorities, what I'm saying is basically I think Kou is so fucked because he went from "I'll watch over Hanako!" and "I want to learn more about Hanako too now" and then "I'll choose Hanako over anyone except Senpai" to "itS jUsT tO prOteCt SeNpaI but I'm going to defend Hanako in the process but it's not like I'm siding with him" Kou! wake up geez

and I know the fandom does NOT agree with me and would rather me stfu up but like hell I'm doing that bc I've been asked and I'm going to say HE AIN'T SOME BABY BOY I don't know where y'all got that idea? because Kou for me, is the farthest thing from baby boy and is hurting people in the process of switching and being naive with the supernatural, it's so annoying that if people didn't automatically deem him adorable and can do no wrong they'd see him with a different light and that's just horrible because if we had the amazing fandom like hxh we all could actually see these characters better then whatever the fandom is seeing them now. ugh

I just wish there was more people that realized how Kou backstabbed Teru and how truly niave he is, he isn't doing any justice because he sees supernaturals in a different light and is definitely not the hero but I suppose there are qualities I like in him if I look passed all the 'i don't really care for him' personally I like how energetic and weird he can be, like how he acted in the young exercist arc with Hanako and His excuse on ditching class, although I hated how he just decided Hanako was good and then keeps switching from good and bad, at least now when we were at the Minamoto house Kou seemed to realize how bad supernaturals really are, but he went back on it so quick ahh anyways I like how silly he can be and how he can kick ass, it's funny seeing him take shit from other people and not at the same time, I think his issues are interesting for his character arc, and his hero complex is so interesting with Teru's villain persieved complex, they're so weird.

I just really miss Kou from the early chapters but also I enjoy how AidaIro made him take the whole Mitsuba situation, because it is true, Kou prefers the real Mitsuba, and only sticks to fake Mitsuba so much because he's like him, and reminds him of his past friend, they get along sure, but with Kou's line of "I'm not sure if he's really gone" and the way he reacted in the picture perfect arc was just so proving Mitsuba's point and Kou doesn't really make an effort to find him and hangout, just the way it's so, well, preference based is such a touch I really liked AidaIro doing

he would admit that he was a bit hesitant on going up to you when the two of you first met since you seemed like you wanted to be left alone

he really didn’t want to bother you so he often kept his distance

when the two of you were paired up for a group project, however, kouta would begin to realize that you simply didn’t like being around others that much and that he had misjudged you

so the two of you would start to grow close, even if it was slow at first, and one thing led to another and the two of you eventually developed feelings for one another and confessed

i feel like kouta would be quite surprised at first when he saw just how sweet you were when the two of you began dating. it wasn’t in a bad way, however. kouta was simply used to your cold nature that you often exhibited around everyone else

seeing how quick you were to break out into a smile and skip by his side whenever you saw him gave kouta and the others around you a bit of whiplash

he did understand where you were coming from though. kouta himself was pretty shy and introverted and didn’t talk with others much, so he definitely understood why you wouldn’t necessarily want to be around others

he figured that you may have been shy or didn’t like to open up to merely anyone; however, it often came off as you being cold and distant from others

there was also something about the fact that you were only sweet and showed affection to him that made his heart race. call him selfish but kouta adored the fact that he was the only one that got to see your true side

not only did it make him feel loved, but kouta was sure he fell in love with you even more

if you ever wanted to simply hang out with him alone, kouta would have no problem doing so. anytime you called for him, he’d excuse himself from his group of friends and go check on you

besides, kouta loved it when the two of you were alone. it helped the two of you open up to one another as well as bond over silly little things

he was quite popular at school and made friends with practically everyone, so word got to him quickly that you were someone that hated interacting with others

he’d usually keep to himself in such situations and not bother the other person since that was clearly what they wanted, but this time was different

yuu was instantly captivated by you and wanted to try and get closer, even if you did push him away at times. it was a challenge that he was up for

(also, he once saw you carrying a my melody keychain on your keys and he was pumped to find another fan)

so day after day, yuu would attempt to get close to you, despite your many attempts to shrug him off. he was too persistent

however, the two of you soon began to develop feelings for one another due to the fact that you’ve spent so much time together (all thanks to yuu)

when you first show affection and act all sweet towards him, yuu’s first instinct is to tease you, although he’s very much happy with the fact that his efforts paid off

although he tries to tease you, you can’t help but notice just how flustered he seems to be

has no shame in admitting that he absolutely adores the fact that you only ever are sweet to him. yuu couldn’t help but want to keep you all to himself, especially with how cute you were

as such, he often finds himself ditching groups and others in order to spend much more time with you, though you don’t mind at all

yuu couldn’t get enough of your affection and always craved more (i do think that he is a bit touch starved at times and yearns for comfort)

doesn’t mind the fact that you’re not that fond of others. that simply means that the two of you get more alone time together, and yuu wasn’t complaining about that at all

since he is popular, others may try to dissuade him from dating you. i mean, here was yuu, the kind and caring guy that absolutely everyone at the school loved. on the other hand, there was you, a cold and distant person that no one would approach

ofc, yuu would always get angry at such remarks and defend you, saying how there was much more to you. no one expected him to lose his cool that easily, but when it came to you, his s/o, yuu was defensive

after that, everyone begins to notice how he’s hanging out with you in public much more frequently and how clingy he seemed to be

yuu wanted everyone to know that you were the perfect match for him

shunsuke himself is pretty cold towards others, or at least, that’s what the rumors say. in reality, he simply doesn’t see a need to show his emotions that often

so he totally understands where you’re coming from and doesn’t see anything unusual about it when he first meets you

since the two of you had quite a bit in common, you began to hang out much more often, even if it was doing work or reading a book in silence. it felt nice to have one another’s company

when you both get closer to one another and eventually begin dating, shunsuke is mildly taken aback by how affectionate and sweet you’ve become

it was like you were an entirely different person, though he definitely loved it

he would soon begin to realize that you were merely showing him your true self since you felt so comfortable and safe around him, and that fact in and of itself would fluster shunsuke

sure, since he was quiet it was easy for people to talk to him about anything since often times they wanted someone who would just listen, but he never once thought that someone would open up and be vulnerable to him

thus, even though he absolutely adores you and your sweet nature, shunsuke couldn’t help but get flustered everytime the two of you were alone, which surprised even himself

plus, he wasn’t really used to physical affection that much. sure his friend yuu was a bit clingy and touchy at times, but that was much different. one instance was where his friend was trying to get his attention, and the other was with his s/o

honestly, shunsuke would try his best to start showing his emotions much more around you as well

not only did he not want you to get the wrong idea and assume that he hated your affection (quite opposite really. shunsuke lived for it), but shunsuke also felt comfortable trying with someone who was cold to others just like him

it seemed like you truly understood him and thus wouldn’t judge

(he wouldn’t do it with anyone else, however, only you)

✿ Ryo Nishimiya

ryo is rather similar in a sense in that he’d rather keep to himself unless he’s really close with someone

so i think that he’d be thrilled to find someone similar to him because it made ryo feel validated in a way. like yes, he wasn’t weird and it was completely fine of him to not entirely be fond of others from the get go

the same could be said about you if you were insecure about the fact that you couldn’t open up to others easily. communicating was so difficult to you, yet others made it look so easy. it made you feel less about yourself, but having ryo by your side made you know that you weren’t alone

at first, ryo would keep his distance from you as well although that’s also because of his own awkward personality (he wouldn’t admit it, but you were also somewhat terrifying by how cold you seemed)

however, since the two of you were on the library committee together, you both found yourself often in each other’s company, shelving away books or returning overdue ones that students finally found in the bottom of their locker

it first started when you were reading one of his favorite series, and ryo couldn’t resist the urge to point it out and tell you just how great it was

after that incident, the rest was history, and the two of you soon grew close as you chatted about your favorite series, hobbies, etc.

he wouldn’t really question the fact that you had suddenly become much more sweet and caring around him since ryo truly thought that it was perfectly normal for someone to hide themselves around most people

in fact, you may also be a bit surprised at just how sweet ryo could be himself since he was rather awkward and quiet when the two of you first met

needless to say, when the two of you were together, you both were as sweet as can be and were rather affectionate (if anyone caught you guys together, they wouldn’t even recognize you lmao)

despite that, he still gets easily flustered whenever you show the tiniest bit of affection or care for him since it wasn’t something he was quite used to

still loves it though

much like yuu, seiichiro loves to get along with everyone since he does think that it’s a part of his duty being the student body president and all

so ofc, seiichiro made it a responsibility of his to try and get along with you when you came to him with a question about joining the student council

he automatically realizes how you seem to close yourself off from others and how you don’t really talk much. it did bother him a bit but only because he wanted to be someone that others could talk to and depend on

over time, you find yourself spending more time with seiichiro, whether that be cleaning up the classroom together at the end of the day or him trying to sit down and have lunch with you

he manages to establish a trusting bond between you, and you soon find yourself gradually warming up to him and hanging out with him outside of school even

he became a good friend of yours and soon boyfriend when the two of you confessed that you had feelings for one another

seiichiro isn’t all too surprised that you were actually a sweetheart on the inside given that the two of you took time to get to know each other

from all of your interactions and conversations and how you opened up to him, he knew that you were just someone that was careful around others. you only wanted those that truly cared for you to be around

he knew firsthand how intimidating he may seem, so seiichiro is always trying his best to seem approachable. he understands that you’re distant to those that you don’t really know and doesn’t see it as a problem

he loves to receive your affection especially, although he is equally as good at giving it out as well. there was nothing he loved more than to cuddle up in your arms after a long, tiring day at school

since you’re not too fond of others, seiichiro is careful to drag you into conversation that you may not like. he really didn’t want to make you uncomfortable

if you so desired, he’d also spend a lot of time with just the two of you alone during breaks. often times the other student council members think he’s working (which he is don’t get me wrong), but in reality, he was hanging out with you as the two of you chatted about your day

he really didn’t see your cold, distant nature as much as a problem since he naturally assumed that you’d warm up to those that you loved, and it was something that you were quite grateful for

THEM:

Hi Reading one of your recent comments on Soo It seems to be that you actually don't like her as a character not just the way she was written I think, it's just my assumption consider her as weak and a bit stupid Maybe I'm wrong

ME: It's both how she was written as a character and the character herself. Lol I've watched this series over 6 times now (partly to enjoy it with friends but also to analyze the story and characters for my own writing.) It may be the editing departments fault too with how they edited the final video

THEM: I think that the writing has a couple of flaws as every script has and it's ok but I put all blame on director and editor team.

Also, I think you really underestimate her and putting definition of a strong female lead in a very classic dimension when it comes to judging Soo, idk about others.

She was pretty much silly in the first eps and I didn't like her either. But there so much development that made me grow to like her more and more.

After all, of it wasn't her nothing would have happened. Even Eun's death supposed to happen because she meant to be there to story that we know in modern days could happen.

She's not even a bit weak. Just out yourself a modern day girl into her condition. Time travel, deaths of people that important to you and not most of them aren't natural. Tortures, a year of hard work of a water maid, ruined health, always aching knees and problem with heart. Const fear of hurting and affecting somebody's life, holding back with a person you falling in love with, then watching how his marrying other woman and suffering because of it, then leaving him not because you don't love him but because you have to and there's no other choice.

She's relatable in so many aspects even in Goryeo era. She's not super smart or strong or anything else, that what makes her so human. But she is so compassionate, hardworking.

ME: But it's not just my opinion 4 other of my friends (one of them having never seen Kdramas before) kinda of the same opinion. Her early eps were basically what kinda killed it.

Honestly my biggest thing is that there was no excuse for her behavior in the early episodes. (I didn't mind her too much after Court Lady Oh's death, but everything before that point she just didn't make sense to me... she would've realistically been executed) Even her being from another time can be a valid reason up to a point... before it becomes a writers scapegoat.

To me, if I had to pick a character from that show that was the most relateable and believably written, It would be Court Lady oh.

ME: it's just there's things that are common sense and common knowledge that anyone of any social class (modern or ancient) would know, and she somehow... didn't?? how to speak to royalty, and not get in a fight with them being for starters LOL

ME: the other things I can kinda loosely overlook as pure modern ignorance but there are some things that are just painfully jarring that make 0 sense for anyone in Korea or SE-Asia

ME: the more I watch and try to find reasons to sympathize with her or justify her behavior the more I can't-- especially when my friends are also asking me questions about why she's behaving a certain way. LOL I do try... I genuinelly do try (especially cause I want me friends to love this show as much as me) but I can't. xD I can't even objectively try to defend her character until after Court Lady Oh's death. and by that point when it comes to hr and wang So's relationship I can feel even less empathy for it aside from his character... XD

ME: I love wang So very very much, extremely deeply but their pairing made so little sense to me... that I couldn't even try to explain it to my friends xD Maybe the original book was different, but, this show didn't make work... this could be the fault of the editors and writers of the show

ME: 5 other friends of mine (my miscount I forgot how many I have seen this series with) Today at 10:06 AM

THEM: She was fearless and didn't want to let people humiliate her. Don't forget that she was a part of powerful Wook's household and people tear her as she is a mere child so I doubt that something would have happened to her. The only stupid thing that she did back then was beating Eun. She just couldn't stand his pervertism and decided to teach him a lesson.

I doubt that you know how to speak to medieval royalty as I have no clue how to speak to royalty from medieval Rus. Everything what I know is based on history books and tv series. I'm pretty sure it's far from accurate Also, Ha Jin's history knowledge was awfully poor. She couldn't even figure out that Gwangjong wasn't the second Goryeo king nor she didn't know that he actually didn't killed all his brothers. Her history knowledge was on a level of girl just appearing in history class auditorium without paying much attention.

For example? (What doesn't make sense for people in Kore and Asia)

Girl in original book is absolutely different just as 4th prince, they just took some main plot lines, everything else is different.

Their relationship was built on friendship, complete understanding of each other, they could see real nature of each other. Also, they're both idealistic and fight for truth, they're romantic and cherish freedom. They're really similar and I already told you about it.

ME: you sound mad? O-o are you mad at me or something? cause again this is just my own view point. LOL

THEM: But was hwarang female lead brilliantly written and was their romance developed? Like just to compare historical dramas that you watched.

It's not just So's story, initially it is a girls story, Koreans decided to share the focus with male lead as well.

It's fine, I get it. And you wouldn't be able to do it anyway 😄

ME: I liked the girl in the very very first episode. But after that first episode. THE VERY INSTANT SHE MET THE MALE LEAD... I ended up disliking her too the romance in Hwarang was just as bad as SHR

THEM: I'm afraid that you end up disliking all female leads in sageuk

ME: after that point TBH I kinda realized maybe it was Korean's media where they're so focused on shoehorning and shoving poorly developed romance down people's throats.... yeahhhh probably

THEM: But SoSoo wasn't poorly developed Can't agree with you It one of the most amazingly developed relationship in kdrama world In fiction I've run into And I love romance but only a good believable romance

ME: if that's the case then I am absolutely mortified to see other shows in Korea if that was considered the best in Kdrama world

THEM: Have you thought that it's a western mindset that makes you think that Soo and other female leads are weak

ME: my friend found the way he acted after she said she understood him absolutely jarring today ROFL

THEM: Ofc there are some one dimensional poorly written characters But I honestly saw many great girls

ME: Honestly I hate how a lot of media writes women in the West too I do think it could be a culture thing for me too, that maybe Korea and Japan idiolize these meek weak kinda "dense and quirky" women that NEED a man to function or at least the trope of it

THEM: Why it's so understandable

ME: in SE-Asian media

THEM: There's a parallel between his conversation with mother and this moment with Soo

ME: I know these countries are very sexist and women don't get a lot of respect over there.

THEM: Actually I feel like less sexist in historical way that Europe In Japan there were women samurais

ME: Oh I know in history it was fine till we came and shoved our noses in it

THEM: And I'm Goryeo women could divorce without damaging their honor

ME: or with confusnism

THEM: And all the property still belonged to them

ME: I'm not completely naive about Japan XD I did do research on the Samurai and the Minamoto family I also know in the Three Kingdoms era women were of equal

ME: in fact one of them ruled err wait three of the women ruled Silla

THEM: Not completely equal but almost yeah

ME: What I'm saying is the roles of women changed roughly around the Joseon Dynasty and into the era where Christians started butting in well yeah not perfect but closer

ME: then it all turned to shit

ME: And yes maybe my Western upbringing has a lot to do with how I see it, but then again, I loved characters like Court lady Oh, Queen Hwangbo, (Hell I would even say- despite her corruption and being written as a bitch/antagonist-) I enjoyed Yeon Hwa's character and felt she was wonderfully developed. (no I do NOT ship Yeon hwa with WAng So) But I loved ALL these characters way more then I liked Soo because I felt they were better written and developed over all. Or WOo Hee for that mater I adored Woo hee and felt she was incredibly brace and strong

THEM: Ok but all these woman were ready to kill I like only Woo Hee from these three

ME: Court Lady Oh wasn't willing to kill. Also Lady Hae herself was another powerful and strong woman in her own right and she wasn't gunna kill anyone

THEM: But you say you liked these three

ME: both these women would've died (and one of them did) to protect the people they loved I forgot the other two xD well I mentioned Court Lady Oh XD but yeah basically any other woman in that show I found more engaging and compelling

THEM: Even Chae ryung? 😄 But Yeon Hwa was snake as well

ME: Soon Deok, Lady Oh, Lady Hae, Yeon Hwa, (hell even Yoo for being a horrible antagnosist and terible mother) Woo Hee.... all of these girls in my mind were better written and developed. yes even Chae Ryung I felt more emotion to all of these other women

THEM: But she was an evil traitor and liar

ME: in different ways yes but I felt SOMETHING I didn't nessicarily mean positive

THEM: Ok then I can say one thing

ME: or liking the character's decisions XD

THEM: You don't like Hae Soo in general Bc it's impossible to the same writers to write all these women and So itself To be poorly wrote Hae Soo in which I disagree ofc

THEM: You just don't like her for her character Like you found interesting everyone in this show except Hae Soo

ME: XD No I don't her character or how she was written...I felt 0 empathy for her on any level as a viewer, and I felt over all she made no sense as a character and was too unrealistic as a believeable character. I felt and could relate to the other characters in different ways. Yeon hwa for all her treachery I could see she was blindly pursuing her goals to protect her family (even though it was wrong). Lady Oh and Lady Hae and Woo Hee all were amazing and brave women yeah basically XD I did

THEM: Yeon Hwa wasn't protecting her family Like never

ME: It's not that I don't BLINDLY dislike her I have stated many times why I don't like or agree with her. ehh true XD she was just poisoned with greed but even she was interesting as a character

THEM: She just wanted power And So was for her just a beast to be tamed When Soo saw in him a kind hearted human and friend

ME: Well yeah XD I never liked YH and So together either

THEM: You didn't feel any empathy bc you didn't like her as a person, you felt no connection bc maybe you share only few traits with her. Most of the time when I watch dramas and movies, I feel no connection with characters. Especially western ones. I can say same things about beloved by many characters but I know that there are people who are like this particular heroine and they feel connection. Why she's not believable? She was betrayed many time, she fell for the wrong person, right person was always by her side and it took sonmuxh time to realize. She was to kind and to idealistic to realize many things earlier. I think it happened to many people. I felt her extremely relatable bc I would act same in many situations. Who am I kidding I would gone crazy after few days. But she had strength to not give up and accept the reality and live. She was acting so carelessly because she was allowed to, she felt love and protection from all the princes. She relaxed as if she was at home, in friendly atmosphere but after Lady Oh's death she realized that she can't and don't have right to live and behave like that anymore. It was a call that she's in medieval kingdom after all. I'm just saying that you don't feel empathy bc you don't like her as a person. And I feel like you belittle her and her strength

THEM: And I'm saying all of that considering how many times I was extremely mad at her and wanted to shout at her

Still I can't hate her or accuse in anything

She was in huge stress. She managed to survive for 10 in a toxic and suffocating atmosphere where she didn't belong.

ME: Yeah. XD Honestly I've stated many points on why I didn't like how she was written or her character as a character/person XD My friend who watched this series with me kinda pointed out to me too that she felt Hae Soo was "literally there to further the drama and development of the princes and she's a badly done character that was done injustice by baaaaaaaad writing." And my friend is in honors classes full scholarship majoring in developmental psychology. She likes a LOT of fiction, TV and admits she loves almost all types of characters and in her own words "has no standards for writing" xD IDK maybe we just see things differently My friend LOVED Wang so and the royal family and the story as a whole

ME: she just didn't like Soo either

ME: Maybe we should avoid the topic of Hae Soo when it comes to this show and stick to Wang So and the other Princes XD XD Cause yeah we'll never see eye to eye on it. might be safer that way ahahah ^_^;; I don't want to offend ya since you love her so much.

THEM: I don't even love her so much I really like her and I relate to her

ME: Ah Ok LOL xD Well either way I just really don't wanna step on toes XD

THEM: I just don't really get how you skip her in this story

THEM: It's unfair To the whole story and So itself Because neither of it happened without her She's a base of this story

THEM: Like if there's poorly written character - Jung Or he's just eternally stupid

ME: I loved So's development as HIM I just wished Hae Soo's character was different then I might support it more.

THEM: But she was a part of his development He wouldn't have became king without her

ME: I just didn't like him and Soo as a couple nor did I like how she was written nor her character itself.

I think he could've developed that same way were she a different person.

ME: Eh it's kinda like friend said, she was a plot device in that respect. xD

THEM: Fe She wasn't a plot device, she was a center of this story

ME: LOL Like I said, it's probably safer we don't bring up Hae Soo xD I could go on and on about Wang So and the rest of the family with positive praise. LOL

THEM: Ok give me an example of what kind of different female lead should have been there

ME: and deep love... but her... ehhhh character type?

THEM: I'm not the one who avoids uncomfortable topics Yes You also think she's unworthy of this love, right? Because she never showed it so openly as he did?

ME: (strictly character personality types, not ethnicity) Woo Hee, Lady Oh, Rose Tyler, Arwen, I could hoenstly go on

THEM: That's actually really funny that you mentioned lady oh Bc it's an older version of Hae Soo

ME: I mean after Lady Oh got wise to the world yes older and wiser much older and wiser matured

THEM: But nobody gets as older and wiser in such young age Without tough experience

THEM: You get wisdom from experience Fans you compare Woo Hee and Hae Soo/Ha Jin when they were raised ina different atmosphere It's same as people were comparing Wook and So

ME: I'm looking at personality types... not characters and backstory the**

THEM: But their character traits came from their experience

ME: I'm talking technical Like the character breakdown in writing

THEM: Oh, I see

THEM: Idk neither Arwen or Rose I can't see this kind of character in this kind of story

ME: not the characters themselves or their history.

Well no one is an elf from another world of fiction the other is a 21st century girl from London. XD But their character traits and personality/flaws are what I'm talking about. Not who they are or where they're from

THEM: Also, about Woo Hee. Her and Baek Ah and SoSoo are mirroring each other Showing that this type of people have light inside of them but life made them tondo some things that were corrupting them from the inside

ME: ehhhhhh they're different people maybe

THEM: They need someone with the light to help them to return to their natural state To soften their thorns That they forced themselves to grow in order to survive

THEM: Both of them didn't to chose to be who they are, the had to do it The other thing that showing is a Soo and Baek Ah talk in ep 19 Soo talks with Baek Ah possibly having her and So in mind Saying that Woo Hee wasn't selfish enough, she's the one who left and she's a bad guy

ME: hahahahahha yeahhh mental illnesss doesn't work that way... honestly that little comment really ticked me off.

THEM: Possibly referring to herself, fully recognizing that she and So weren't selfish and she's the bad guy, she hurts him badly by leaving him But as Woo Hee (here a woman sacrifice parallel) she leaves to protect So and their baby Which comment?

ME: the whole Woo Hee was the bad guy for killing herself kinda thing

ME: the context and situation was just bad for that cosnidering she committed suicide

THEM: She was more talking about herself

THEM: But she committed suicide not bc of mental illness She did that for Baek Ah and her people

ME: LOL Woo hee and soo are nothing alike... especially in that respect.

THEM: They both sacrificed their happiness for their beloved Soo just didn't die

ME: Woo Hee was unhappy from the start

THEM: Bc she was already severely ill and she had to deliver a healthy child

ME: even Baek Ah noticed that

THEM: Ofc she was She was a princess of fallen kingdom And had to become a kisaeng

ME: She probably suffered from depression and that was partially what drove her to suicide.

THEM: I think every single person in this story suffered from depression

ME: Well yeah.... xD in some ways But she was an extreme case

THEM: The other thing that her existence itself gave hope to Baekje people that their kingdom will be restored And So?

ME: So is a whole other can of worms with mental illness probably PTSD just to start

THEM: Let's be honest As a physical illnesses There's no completely mentally healthy person in this world And Soo? You think she wasn't traumatized? She had, in my opinion, the least stable situation

ME: she probably was and should've been...

ME: but the thing is

THEM: Because the huge contracts of upbringing and the reality she was put in The weight of responsibility and fear Fear that consumes

ME: that's even more of a reason why I felt she and So shouldn't have ever gotten together... and that their relationship (on top of the country) was toxic and unhealthy and should have never happened. and probably wouldn't have in reality

THEM: I just really familiar with this feeling when fear just blocks your rationality bc you just don't want to mess up Toxic and unhealthy?

THEM: There weren't any attachment, obsessions Jealousy And other stuff

ME: jealousy lies, possessiveness. For both of them it was an emotionally abusive relationship

THEM: Lies happens in all relationship Jealousy when? Emotional pain was cause not by them but by the circumstances they were put in

ME: she got sulky when he got married to Mu's kid (WHO WAS LIKE 12) she got jealous of YH,

THEM: If they lived in a hut in that village they would have grow old together with a lot of children It wasn't jealousy

THEM: She thought he might be after throne And it's his ambition When she got jealous of Yeon Hwa?

ME: when she mentioned getting married to him... it wasn't outward but she refused to let go and see that she was not good for him as Queen. it was only when Ji Mong finally shut her down and told her how it is that it finally sunk in anyway this is just going in circles it's perspective and opinion. there's not enough content in the show to properly psycho analyze the characters sadly

THEM: Lies that told each other was motivated to protect each other for good Lame motive but still

ME: well yeahhhh it's called an honest and healthy one XD I'm not saying their aren't struggles but you don't lie to the person you claim to love.

ME: I'm very tempted to actually ask a psychologist this very thing someone who is certified to say what is toxic relationship and not given that period just to see if it's promlematic or genuinely a toxic circumstance

THEM: And when you say emotional pain. Well, in toxic relationship, emotional abuses is an intentional thing, right? They never did that, they never did something to each other to hurt and make them feel worse or unworthy, they did say something things to push each other bc they thought it would be better for them and will keep them safe.

THEM: I saw many discussions on tumblr on that matter Even from a psychologist

ME: uhhh unfortuantely tumblr is an echochamber of biasness

THEM: People who said it's toxic mainly aimed it on So

ME: and nah it's not always intentional

THEM: Other people said it's not And toxic relationship Soo nactually had with Wook

ME: you can be abusive and not realize it

ME: Well asking my friend (who's taking psych) whether Soo and So were toxic... she didn't think so but she did think they weren't good for each other

THEM: Toxic is when relationship brings more pain and discomfort that joy and happiness but you can't quit due to development attachment and feelings

When it destroys your heart and soul

But SoSoo weren't destroyed by their love. They were destroyed by life and time, love was the only thing that brighten their days and kept them alive

ME: I wanted her imput because I feel she'd be more relatlly qualified and I DO sometimes misuse words

he must have your hand in his at all times, whether the two of you were out on a date or just hanging out in his room

it’s practically an unwritten rule in your relationship

Kouta didn’t know why, but your warmth and touch comforted him so much, especially when his insecurities popped up from time to time

it was just a small reminder to him that you will always be by his side, through thick and thin, no matter who he was as a person

your constant presence and support helped ease his worries and made him a bit more confident too

this habit of his wouldn’t happen until a few months into the relationship, once everything’s been settled in, and Kouta got a feel for being a loving boyfriend

he was always a shy bean, so he would try to subtly slip his hand into yours

it was always when you weren’t looking, and when you finally took notice, Kouta couldn’t bring himself to look you in the eye since it was just so embarrassing

also didn’t want you to see the massive blush on his face

thought you might find it annoying at first, but you reassure him that you in fact love it just as much as he does

he also loves cuddling, especially on rainy and/or sluggish days

some of his favorite memories is of you guys cuddling while watching some sort of movie or show and all was quiet except for the pitter patter of the rain outside

it was just so soft and wholesome and made his heart skip a beat

♡ Yuu Mizuno

he always seems to have his hands on you

whether it’s hugs from the back or side tickles or just constant pokes and jabs, Yuu loved to touch you

it was a bit excessive at times, yes, but you knew that this was just how he showed his love

if you tell him to tone it down a bit, however, he’ll oblige no problem. anything for his dear after all

weirdly enough, hand holding wasn’t all that common despite all the physical contact. Instead, Yuu usually clung to your arm like a little child, but it was cute in its own way

Yuu also loves gifting all kinds of sweets to you, so you could expect a handful of lollipops, gumdrops, pocky, and more multiple times throughout the day

they made for great snacks in between classes though, so you were often thankful for your doting boyfriend, though sweets everyday wasn’t exactly the healthiest choice

he always seemed to be eating some sort of sweet whenever you met up with him, namely lollipops, so naturally, he’d throw some on you as well

“Hey hey y/n ~” he would chirp then just dump a few handfuls of candy on your hand that somehow fit into his pocket

“Yuu, you don’t have to always give me sweets you know. It isn’t that good for us anyway”

“aww do you not like my gifts?” he would ask, followed by a pout that just made you feel guilty so that you had no choice but to accept them

i mean, how could you possibly turn him down with a cute face like that?

♬ Shunsuke Yoshino

every year, without fail, Shunsuke would always give you a hello kitty good luck charm

after all, Shunsuke wasn’t the greatest when it came to expressing his emotions, so what better way than sharing his goddess of victory with someone he adored

while to everyone else it was nothing more than another silly gift, you knew the meaning behind the charms

the first charm he ever received as a child was gifted to him by someone special, thus he thought of them as something that held significance

to him, giving you the charm showed that he truly loved and cherished you as well as wished for nothing but the best

of course you accepted his gifts with no explanation

besides, you wouldn’t want to embarrass him when he was already blushing profusely

besides the annual charms, Shunsuke isn’t the one to really show affection

there might be hand holding here and there as well as the usual acts of intimacy (kisses, hugs, etc.), but you would be the ones to initiate them

however, that isn’t to say that he doesn’t show any affection at all

one of the things that Shunsuke does is share his food and drinks with you

you guys basically drink from the same cup/bottle, eat from the same plate, and often share lunchboxes with each other

it’s a bit subtle, but it’s also your guys’ way of showing how much you love and care for one another

i mean, you wouldn’t share with just anyone after all

yeah it may be the subject of Yuu’s teasing and whatnot, but Shunsuke always acted nonchalant about it, as if it was a perfectly natural thing to do (and it was) which always comforted you if you ever felt embarrassed about it

although he may not be the most affectionate person, you were able to crack down on Shunsuke’s cold and stoic exterior to reveal someone who was quite a softie

✿ Ryo Nishimiya

with Ryo being on the library comittee and all, he would read a ton of books

of course, this meant that he would always give you books that he would recommend or ones that he thought you would enjoy

Ryo just wants to see you happy after all

even if you didn’t enjoy a particular book he gave you (more like shoved at you), you would feign a smile and say that you enjoyed it very much

it wouldn’t be much of a lie, however, since you did love the fact that Ryo thought of you. it was just a sweet and cute sentiment, and you couldn’t bring yourself to break him

besides, you knew how much of a tsundere he could be

likewise, if you came across any books you thought he’d enjoy, you’d recommend it to him as well

and, although he wouldn’t admit it, he always read the books you talked about, whether it was up his alley or not

just the fact that you thought of him while reading it made him all soft and mushy and ew feelings

but,,loving you was worth it

another thing Ryo loved to do was to check up on you

when Seiichiro fainted that one time due to overworking himself, Ryo was terrified at the thought of the same thing happening to you

he wouldn’t be able to stand it if something were to happen to you

thus, expect a ton of spa days and tea parties and whatnot

“y/nn, you’ve been working a lot. Come to my house after school.”

“but finals are next week?”

“no buts!”

more often than not you found yourself sitting on his bed, face mask and pajamas on, while he painted your nails or snacked on macarons with you

it was rather nice and quiet, and you did enjoy spending time with Ryo

Ryo just always wanted you to be happy and comfortable

✦ Seiichiro Minamoto

cuddling

lots and lots of it

since Seiichiro is student council president, archery club captain, and valedictorian, between juggling all his responsibilities, he really didn’t spend a lot of time with you

but, after a stressful day filled with endless paperwork from the student council and tiring archery practice, he loved nothing more than to spend time alone with you

and what better way to do that than by cuddling

honestly just loves having feeling your warmth and touch, especially since he didn’t really receive much affection when he was younger

also was a way for him to unwind and let go for a bit before he went to bed for the day

but above all, he really just wants you to know that he deeply cares for and loves you

you were his priority after all

you two also love taking naps together (usually after cuddling), which more often than not ended up turning into sleepovers

there was just something comforting about Seiichiro’s presence, and you loved nothing more than snuggling up against him and falling asleep

also, it allowed you to make sure he wasn’t overworking himself again

when you could, and if you were able to convince Seiichiro (most likely not), you would drag him to nap in the nurse’s office or the student president’s office during breaks

of course, most of the time he would refuse and instead scold you, but when he was visibly tired, you dragged him regardless of his complaints

and honestly, it did allow him to refresh and feel less tired, although he wasn’t too keen on napping during school hours, even if it lunchtime or after school

also, knowing that you were next to him comforted him greatly, and your touch lulled him into a deep sleep

no matter what it was, you two always loved being close to one another, especially since moments were the two of you could hang out without a worry in the world were rare
