Take That This Life on Tour Review by The Menace Zine  

I attended Take That’s concert in Manchester’s AO Arena May 11th, 2024, no exaggeration the best night of my life. Take That really know how to put on a show. Thirty years of Take That and their fanbase is just as strong as it was in the nineties.  

I do wish I was a teenager/young adult in the nineties to experience what the fanbase back then experienced. But now the fanbase is grown up and still attending concerts but with their sons, daughters etc who can still experience the magic of a TT show.  

I especially had a magical time; this was my first show I attended of theirs and I had the time of my life. They really do put on a great show, their vocals, chorography, stage presence and charisma were on point.  

My favourite moments of the show were Mark Owen, Howard Donald and Gary Barlow performing Shine, Patience and their newest song This Life. Shine was released in 2007, I was seven years old when it was released, and it was my favourite song, Patience was another song I had on repeat. I truly fell so in love with music because of these songs. And recently, This Life which is featured on their latest album released in 2023 became another favourite of mine so being able to hear these songs live was truly magnificent.  

Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Mark Owen did not disappoint, and I highly recommend grabbing tickets if possible. 10/10.  

I am so obsessed with this rendition of Again from From the Rehearsal Room: Tokyo that I decided to extract its audio, master it with my limited knowledge in audacity and little help from AI, put it on my music playlist, and even consider trying to extract everything from this particular stream, from what I found on bilibili. I think of all 3 livestream they did, this one is the best because of the song choices, the studio acoustic (I'm always obsessed with good sound acoustic in music recording), and the simple arrangement consists of grand piano (wonderfully played by the way, kudos to the pianist) and two guitars by Ramin and Hadley themselves. I notice this is the first one they did, isn't it? Because they were trapped in long quarantine and Sierra eventually couldn't come. I'm late to this so I only read how it went and I feel sad.

Hadley sings Maria(??!!) and it's so good wtf. That high note, gosh.

Ramin's special, of course. I need this because I want Till I Hear You Sing without "ten long yeaars" part but there is no other more good recording on apple music/spotify except that one from Ramin's album which I really hate (the whole album basically). So thank god this exists.

I actually know this song for long because it was on some ad but I think that was Sinatra's version. I didn't know this song is from a musical until I fall down to this hole. Actually found out a lot of songs that actually are from musicals thanks to this hole. Gosh, I used to be so deep into musicals during Les Mis movie era but not THIS deep.

Is it a voice or a lisp due to the black teeth prosthetics? 😂

Reach Out is one of the most underrated TT songs and frankly I think it should be thatters official anthem since the song's literally about unity of people eventhough they don't know each other.

Went to @silverstoneclassic on Saturday with the boyfriend (his work builds engines for some of the cars!) & look who we found!! @howarddonald!!
