The thing that got you hooked on hockey
Started reading “hey now, you're an all star (get your game on, go play)” by @buckyismybicycle while it was ongoing because even though I was 1) completely uninterested in hockey and 2) also uninterested in Stucky as a ship, this specific author’s works have always been phenomenal and with each new chapter email I started getting more and more intrigued until I eventually gave in and started reading it (literally so worth it everyone should read it). In the end notes of each chapter, HR (the author) would add some fun facts and extra context for the hockey related stuff (considering it’s a whole hockey AU) that made me go “huh that sounds fun” more than once but I was still not super into the hockey thing.
Until.
I reached the chapter with a beautifully written match and I was like???? Is hockey like this irl?????????? This sounds so good?????????? Cue YouTube hacking into my brain and suggesting me hockey compilations which included the infamous Lick. I saw this random man just being a menace to everyone and decided he is now the love of my life. (i usually omit the stucky fic part bc ppl have opinions about marvel that i do not want to hear lol. so if i told you abt this before without the full context i'm sorry!!)

ok you asked about my sad fish boy i hope u know how much of a mistake that is. holy shit. dude jrwi is so fucking good. if u need a new dnd podcast may i please recommend jrwi..theyre pirates. ohhh my god theyre pirates .
so. uhm. fish boy. his name is gillion tidestrider (champion of the undersea, hero of the deep, etc etc about a billion more titles that he just keeps aquiring as the campaign goes on) and hes a paladin with ohhhhh so much of a hero complex. oh my god. dude. hes so . everything to me . (played by charlie slimecicle btw. that guy is so fucking good at balancing silly goofy moments with heartwrenching voice acting. in one of the most recent episodes he is literally. hanging from a hook through his hands missing chunks of skin on 1hp literally only alive because he happened to cast death ward on himself. and hes wearing those goddamn trout fish sandals that u see on facebook ads or whatever.)
uhm. so. holy shit. where do i even start. he is the chosen one of a prophecy that says its his duty to one day choose who will survive between the undersea (triton, underwater creatures, where he grew up) and the oversea (basically. land.) and the other will be destroyed. so when he was very young (i want to say maybe like..5 or 6? i dont remember im actually searching for that info rn for the thing im writing) he was taken away from his family to begin training with the Elders (basically the. rulers of the undersea) . my boy he was raised to be a weapon. he was raised to be a tool (<< real canon words out of his own mouth). my favorite little child soldier. he wore armor that was too big for him and carried swords that were taller than he was. he was raised to put protecting others over his own safety so he rushes out into danger without even thinking about how it might affect him. he is so passively suicidal and ready to sacrifice himself at any minor inconvenience that when this information is eventually put in front of him his response is "what? no, thats what im Supposed to do." a very important phrase for him in early episodes was "whats one more burden?"
also he has a pet frogtopus (frog + octopus) her name is pretzel and she rides around in a little orb on his belt and also on his shoulders sometimes. i love her

uhnmmm what else. im so insane about the tidestrider siblings forever. do not get me wrong the other PCs in this campaign are also excellent and i love them (Jay is the daughter of a navy captain who defected to join a pirate crew to figure out what caused the death of her older sister. Chip is. oh boy. orphan who was taken in by a pirate crew when he was 7. pirate crew in question was swallowed by some sort of magic force that corrupted literally a fourth of the globe. but he somehow survived and is now trying to find out if his old family is still alive. jay and chip are like adopted siblings to me. chip and gillion had to roll a performance check for a kiss one time and they both got nat 20s and its all gone downhill from there for them. i love jay and chip dearly but something abojt gillion just scratches a very specific itch in my brain i love him so much and its only partially because hes a fish and im the fish guy.) ALSO I FORGOT TO MENTION GILLION IS CANONICALLY ASEXUAL and this is a fact that actually has come up within canon and is not just a word of god twitter mention fact. no. my boy is actively asexual and it makes me soooooo happy forever.

I'm going to have several answers for this don't mind meeeeeee
First of all... superlit by gnash and Imad Royal immediately reminds me of Fives! The upbeat tone with lyrics mimicking just putting on a brave face and laughing in the face of a shitty situation... Plus this type of music is just what I imagine Fives listening to and I can immediately imagine Fives playing this in the barracks to blow off some steam and making Echo dance with him. There is a line that is like: breaking up Doritos up on my mac and cheese and Fives would do that.
Every time I think of Echo I am immediately tempted to choose a sad song but I am going to decide to break my own Echo angst rules and choose Anything by Hedley because Echo has a very stubborn and self assured attitude. I can imagine him not liking people underestimating him and that is just what this song is about. Someone tells him he can't do something or that he is incapable of accomplishing something and he will be hell bent on proving them wrong so he can give them the middle finger. I love him so much I swear.
Kerosene by Olen gives me total Crosshair vibes. In like a very specific "Crosshair says fuck you to the empire and starts fighting them" kind fo way. In a 'I'll burn down the world if I have to' kind of way. Like while everything is going to shit around him and he is cornered by the empire he is going to be standing there with a smirk on his face as he takes them all down with him. It is just a very specific kind of vibe.

Human by Jon Bellion. THIS SONG. I don't know what it is but it has sounds that just really scratch an itch that I never knew I had deep inside my brain. Putting headphones on and putting this song on and just letting it play over and over again it really does just tickle my brain right.

Rating Hermitcraft intros based on my synesthesia
aka it's 2am and I'm in hell, this is only gonna include the hermits that have actual Consistent Intros to their hermitcraft videos and also has absolutely nothing to do with how much I actually like their videos or even their voice!! there isn't a single hermit whose voice I don't enjoy in some form but I have opinions about their intros apparently so here we go,
(also I specifically have sound-texture synesthesia, sounds will have different textures associated with them, which aren't always.. real textures? in which case I might get a little abstract with feelings idk I apologize in advance)
cub: solid like. 5/10? smack in the middle pretty much, like super smooth paper, the kind that pen doesn't dry well on
doc: 9/10 his intro is. ough. if you included the goat tapes in his rating?? infinity/10 but this is just about his voice s o. his intro is like. being able to pick up a piece of storm cloud and squeeze it... a lil spark, a lot of rumbling fluff, very very nice to feel
etho: 7/10? I love listening to his voice in General but his intro doesn't have the Best Feelings of his voice, it's like. something almost crunchy that crumbles when you squeeze it
false: 8/10!! it is So Nice!!! a lil bouncy bouncy in your chest kinda like driving on a hilly road!! makes me happy
gem: solid like. 4.5/10?? feels like Too Much Grass. no I don't know what the fuck that means please don't ask (I love her voice in general tho this is purely just the intro sjjfjd)
scar: one that rly surprises me bc I love watching him but scars intro is only like. a 2/10 at best?? esp the hermits and crafting part feels a little like rubbing styrofoam together but it's Fine it's worth it for scar content beloved

Out of curiosity, what were some of your favorite responses on the wet sock question?
This list is not all of them but they're some of the ones I found that I happened to particularly enjoy! And if anyone needs context, on the last question of my kotlc uquiz (link if you're curious) it was open ended and I prompted people to "say anything you'd like or try to convince me wet socks is a bad texture (you can't it's a great texture)"
I spent the past hour going through all 325 responses to it to judge them all, and I ended up including a lot so I'm putting a cut. they're also not all specifically about the wet socks, some I just liked the vibes of, but most are sock related!

why would you say such things- It's not the wet sock itself, but when the skin starts to wrinkle like a prune inside the damp fabric, soft socks now saturated and coarse. You try to slip on your shoes but they stick and slip and never fit like they did before. When the shoes are one, the dampness is cramped, tight up against your skin. You walk forward and your foot begs to be free of its wet prison as the now rough fabric scrapes and digs at your water softener skin. You can do nothing.

I actually used to be really certain Sodo/Dew and Cirrus were tied as my favorites, but recently Swiss has been really winning my heart.
Then again, that's just the current ones, cause otherwise I'm really fond of Omega and Mist and Cowbell, we cannot forget Cowbell
But if I had to pick just one, I guess I'd go with Swiss because he scratches the creature itch in my brain. I too want my little stage of shame where I can go nuts. Also we smile the same
21. Do you like that the fandom has given all of the Ghouls and Ghoulettes names, as well as various headcanons and backstories, or do you prefer them staying nameless and void of any identity?
Sort of 50/50 on this! I like the names, I've always thought they were cute and a great way to tell them apart; I know we're supposed to see them as random ghouls and not stable, reoccurring characters, but it's just not possible, come on.
I like headcanons, love when the fandom bases them on little things we actually see the ghouls do on stage. Appearance/magic power headcanons aren't always my cup of tea, but sometimes they're fun too.
But I'm not huge on backstories ;v; maybe it's just because of my own very specific interpretation of them, but it's just not my thing. But I'm honestly very chill with everyone's personal ideas and still love to see them, there's just some things I enjoy more than others
