Me coming to your inbox to ask about your horror comics like

FUCK YEAH!!!

ok pov you see me, in need of some good sustenance during the tmagp hiatus, in a unbecoming fit of nostalgia, i redownload webtoon.

webtoon reminds me of the days when things were simpler, when i didn't know what arc sin was let alone the fact that i would have to be able to draw it one day. but i've changed since then, the cutesy romances i was super into don't interest me as much anymore so what do i do? i start in the horror/thriller section.

ok so there are 3 that have gripped my brain and refuse to let go

(major spoilers obvs, tw for mentions of rape, sexual assault, violence, mental health issues, mental hospitals)

Silent Screams:

oh my GOD

this was nothing like i thought this would be

like the description thingy was giving finding a way out of being kidnapped vibes

but in reality it was SO MUCH DEEPER THAN THAT

i didn't realise it would be set in like the 19th century, so that was another cool thing as well

basically there's this guy named theo

he has really bad anger issues and he's super attached to his mum (✨mommy issues✨)

we find out that his mum got raped when she was 14 and had theo as a result, so they spent most of their lives struggling to get by

on top of that, the mum has some kind of chronic illness

theo is insanely protective of his mum and suspicious of men, he regularly gets into fights, especially with his mum's best friend who he doesn't trust

then his mum meets and falls in love with a doctor, who seems to be quite sweet, little bit nervous, like his feelings for her are genuine

but it's clear that my bro has other stuff going on, he's got an assistant guy who keeps reminding him to "stay on task" etc etc

(it feels very manipulative, like the line between master and assistant has been blurred, the doctor thinks he's in charge and calling the shots but the assistant is subtly manipulating him to do what he wants while letting the doctor think he is still in charge)

but yeah, they get married and theo and his mum is shipped off to a wonderful new wealthy lifestyle

but theo hates this guy, he knows that he's making his mum happy for now but he just doesn't trust it, especially the fact that he's also the mum's doctor, he already has a lot of power over her

also the doctor makes it clear that theo's attitude must be improved, to fit into their new high society life

so we open with the day before theo's 19th birthday

he's scared away yet another tutor due to his bad attitude (even though he technically is getting high marks)

and his step dad (who he is forced to call father) is not happy with him

it's clear from the get go that the doctor HATES theo, this is very much not a good relationship and theo hates the doctor as well

the doctor thinks theo's attitude is hurting the mum, theo thinks the doctor is putting too much pressure on him and is causing a rift between him and his mum (again, mommy issues)

anyway, the doctor tells theo that the mum had gone to town for a day, which theo finds highly suspicious cause like 1. she's ill how would she do that by herself and 2. she wouldn't leave the day before theo's birthday

the next day, the mum still hasn't returned, theo is obviously devastated

the maid attempts to cheer him up, which sort of works before she goes to the doctor's study to clean

what does she find in the doctor's study? a secret passage way.

what happens to her directly after she finds said secret passage way? she is hit over the head with a lamp and killed

theo comes running to find the maid dead and also (say it with me folks) gets hit over the head with a lamp

but not killed

he wakes up chained to like a prison cell in the basement

he is not doing well

but at least he was right! the doctor was evil!

so theo finds out that his mum is dead and the doctor has something to do with that death

but also that the doctor blames theo for the mum's death

(we find out later that the doctor accidentally gives the mum the wrong dose of medicine, so she passes out and hits her head, bleeding to death. the assistant encourages him to blame theo cause theo and the doctor had had an argument beforehand, which must've caused him to be distracted right)

then, theo wakes up to find his vocal chords have been cut - he cannot scream or make any noise

he is terrified, but he realises that the doctor sort of does have some weird freudian attachment to him because theo looks so much like the mum

so every night he whistles the tune that his mum used to play and the doctor sits in front of the cage and listens

one day he goes to wake up theo but can't so he panics and does what?

kisses him

HUH??? i hear you say. WHAT? and i agree

he then nearly sexually assaults him, until he flashes back to his own dad sexually assaulting him and is like OH WHAT THE FUCK WAS I ABOUT TO DO

(freud would have a FIELD DAY)

and then the assistant is like bro what about our work stop being weird about ur stepson

and then he's like oh yeah

so he sedates theo and then gives him a lobotomy

however, theo wakes up midway through the surgery, so it doesn't work

it turns out they wanted to make a human puppet that they could experiment on for medical reasons

as it happens, theo is normal for some of the time, but other times turns into a mindless puppet

the doctor is very annoyed and goes back to blaming him for the mum's death

and thus, ships him off to a mental hospital.

and that's where i got up to so far

Omg hiii!!!

I actually liked it!! Not as much as WG 2021, but it was a fun, solid introduction to Amazon characters for me, esp with the inter-group beef and what distinguishes the Bana-Migdhall from the others. There were so many fun interactions and it made me realize I honestly misconceived the Amazon characters as being very strict and boring before I started reading their comics.

The plot itself and the *lowers voice* murder??? Actually took me off guard 😭 I saw Hippolyta and Phillipus kissing and I was like “Awww lesbians” and then THAT happened and it was like oh nevermind we can’t have peace around here

Cassie playing detective was cute though, but Artemis baby what are you DOING????

I also enjoyed the parallels between Nubia stepping up as Queen and leader versus Diana acting more impulsive out of understandable grief, but towards the end Diana using the lessons she learned in man’s world made me EMOTIONAL omg! She had a really interesting role amongst the Amazons that I appreciated. And it was so fun seeing Diana be upset, unraveled and making questionable choices as opposed to the voice of reason role she carries in the JLA and JLD.

YARAAAAAA <333 Ong I posted before that Yara made me SO SAD while reading because I also miss my mom and find it so difficult to be around “family” without her. The Esquecida definitely love her!!! But her loneliness was so understandable and heartfelt for me. And omg the end with her and Diana 😭 She’s right!! Why are we calling a woman in her twenties Wonder Girl lmfaooooo (THO I LOVE THE FORESHADOWING FOR FUTURE STATE OMG I CANT WAIT TO READ THAT)

Watching Diana, Philipus, Donna, and Yara work together during the trial was another fave moment for me, esp when they were bickering while running for their lives 😭

So yeah it was enjoyable!! But that might change with the more Wonder stories I read haha. Up next I think i’m gonna go through Nubia’s books and Future State: Wonder Woman. I’ve also seen WW Vol 2 Year One recommended but for some reason I can’t find it online!!! :( I’ll keep looking.

Oh and yeah there was a lack of Donna tbh, like she had screen time (page time lol), but I didn’t feel much connection to her in this story like I usually do (i don’t talk about her often but I do like donna!!) and Artemis was also a bit underdeveloped so I gotta find out what’s going on there too

1. actually i’m not sure? years ago. i was on this site for 10 years on different blogs, i guess around 16 or 17 i started giffing but nothing to advance or complicated and honestly it took me years to figure out the coloring… and there’s also a lot to learn even now i’m just honestly a bit lazy and frustrated to not getting stuff right on the first try (which is funny because learning blending two gifs took me a whole week to figure out, 2 mental breakdowns lol)

2. it really depends on the set! but i have adhd and i’m way hyperfocusing in the stuff i make so it can take me a week (if i have an idea but i can’t get it right so i start over / too busy etc so a one set actually can take me weeks to complete) or like…. 4 hours? an hour? it really depends on what i’m trying to go for <3

Currently Hatupatu and Laudna. Hatu has these damn tusks that I can't nail, and Laudna is just so shaped lmao it's rough

This is hard bc I've dabbled in everything but, oil paint. Oh man. Oh boy. There's something about the texture of oil paint and the way that it blends that's so particular and unique. Lord. I could stand and look at oil paintings all day I swear to god. I can't even articulate the way it makes me feel

20. Something everyone else finds hard to draw but you enjoy

You know, and maybe this is a cop-out, but just, drawing in general. And not from like an artist to artist perspective but non-artist to artist. Everything about art is hard! Like, I'm sure every single artist everyone looks up to has something they go 'oh this is bullshit i hate drawing x' it's all hard! Every single bit of it! I just think the most important thing abt art and drawing is the joy you get from it and even the hard things are good. idk haha

4. what flower would you like to be given?

may sound silly, but i would love to be given a flower by someone who chose it for a specific reason. ie. they thought it was pretty, it reminded them of me, they know what the flower means and they are trying to send a message with the flower, etc..

anything given with care, thoughtfulness , and intention is my ideal gift.

i don't ask for much, or care for any specifics.

so yeah, so long as the flower is given with what i mentioned above, it will make me very happy <333

27. which character would you want to be?

this is a very difficult question. i know which characters i am most similar to, but i've never really thought of who i would want to be.

i suppose i would want to be samwise gamgee. i feel i lean more towards being like frodo, so it would be nice to be more like sam <3

A few thoughts on that if I may ✍️

The first time she snuck in your room, she convinced you to watch a movie with her. It started out innocently at first. After all, this was something you would regularly do, but usually not with just the two of you. As you watched the screen, her hand rested on your thigh, caressing the skin. It would inch up closer, painfully slow, and you couldn't deny the ache in your lower stomach building. Your thighs pressed together tightly.

"What's the matter sweetheart?"

With a smirk on her lips, forcing you to tell her how bad you needed her. How you wanted her to make you feel good. She kissed you softly at first, savoring the way your lips tasted, wanting to relish the feeling of your first kiss. Natasha would waste no time after that, knowing at any moment the two of you could be caught.

"You're taking me so well, fuck, this pussy was made for me."

"Shh, sweetheart, you have to be quiet. Don't want to wake anybody up, do you?"

"I know you love it.. the idea that someone could walk in right now and see you being fucked like a slut."

Natasha was still pulling her shirt over her head while you attempted to put on your sweatpants. Both of you had red and puffy lips. A purple bruise was still fresh on your neck, and your hair was wild.

Wanda looked to you and the to Natasha, her fists clenching at her side as she stepped further into the living room.

So

First thing : I feel like the person X saw in Etho (in panel 2) is Evil X, I don't know it just feels like it, I mean yeah instead of yellow he should have had red accents and stuff, but... the shoulder pads are in simmiliar shape to those that EX has in your recent comic. It's implied that X was at least a bit scared of that person he saw because this is the exact moment he overpowers Etho, like he saw someone who's genuinely determined to hurt him + I can see that whoever Xisuma saw in Etho is holding a potion of what?? Still tryna to figure this out.

+ X cries a little when he flips Etho, still don't know if he does it because it's Etho and he doesn't want to hurt him, or because he still sees the other person in his friend and it's a bit deeper than that.

Second thing: Oh wow we got to see Xisuma's hair!

Third thing: I think that Etho most likely hurt/injuried/stabbed X at the end, or is at least about to do it, since we see the "DON'T" at the end- it's written in pink which is enough to signify it's X who's talking [CAN i ADD THAT IT'S GLOWING?? Like that must mean it's either important or loud] but we also get the "VOCAL RECOGNITION: XISUMAVOID" from Doc [thank you for this part it makes it even better sobs]. And now to the confusing point, from what I could figure, it looks like Etho is trying to stab X with the shard(?) or whatever that is, but It's not him, the person that's holding the shard has sleeves [we know that Etho wears a t-shirt in this] so now I wonder if it's a flashback to Doc's past since 1) his labcoat has sleeves [X has gloves so he definetely isn't the one holding the shard] 2) in the panel where he's reaching for the [whatever that is I don't know medical supplies] we also get a sort of flashback of him reaching for the shard. Which means that he probably had situation like this before (maybe that's one of the times when he lost his arm?)

Also thank you for drawing that pure fear in Doc's eye when he heard X I love this
