Could you do Jon/Aegon, where Aegon is actually a Blackfyre, contesting Daenerys for the throne?
(For visual purposes this is my Aegon Blackfyre :3)They had been readying for the journey north when word came of an invasion in the Stormlands, an invasion led by a boy claiming to be of Targaryen blood. Claiming to be the last of House Blackfyre and, as such, rightful King of Westeros.Daenerys had been infuriated by the news and Jon had followed when she rode east. The boy they met, a few years older than the both of them, was tall, broad and his starlight hair was drawn back in long, interwoven braids down his back. Dark violet eyes spoke of the hard life the boy, Aegon he was called, had lived but there was also a familiar gleam to them. The same determination Jon saw in Daenerys’ eyes. They met on an open field, with Drogon settled a few feet away, as intimidating here as he had been in the capital, but Aegon did not look afraid. He looked at Drogon, and Rhaegal, in awe. When he introduced himself to Daenerys, however, his expression was carefully neutral.
“I know you doubt me, cousin,” Aegon said simply and Daenerys frowned at him. “But I am of Targaryen blood.”“You’re a Blackfyre,” Daenerys retorted sharply. “A bastard line.”Aegon shook his head.“Legitimized by King Aegon IV on his deathbed.” Aegon gave a slight grin. “My ancestor was Daemon Blackfyre, firstborn of King Aegon IV, thus, given his legitimized status, rightful King over his brother Daeron II. Which makes me the rightful King of Westeros.”Daenerys did not look convinced.“You’ve no proof of any of this.”“I have documents, signed by Lords and Ladies, attesting to who I am. And I have letters from your father, cousin, requesting aid from my father, who was the youngest brother of Maelys, during the rebellion that brought about the fall of your family.” Aegon glanced behind her to Tyrion and Varys. “I’m sure your lordly friends can verify Aerys’ hand and signature. As well as identify the sword I carry as Blackfyre, our family’s ancestral sword.”Daenerys exchanged a look with Jon. “What do you think?”Aegon huffed and fixed Jon with a sharp look.“You ask the opinion of some boy?”“This boy,” Daenerys snapped back. “Is Jon Snow. The White Wolf. Wight Slayer. Friend of the Free Folk. Liberator of Winterfell and the North. Ally of House Targaryen and he is King in the North.”Aegon looked again at Jon, frowning slightly, seemingly weighing Daenerys’ words and measuring them against what he saw.“You carry a heavy weight, my friend,” Aegon said after a few quiet moments. “A crown is not an easy burden.”“You have no crown,” Daenerys ground out, trying to maintain her composure but failing in the face of Aegon’s blatant disrespect. “I am the last member of House Targaryen and I am rightful Queen of…”“My ancestor was the elder brother of yours,” Aegon reminded. “He was legitimized. He was rightful king, was gifted Blackfyre as a sign of it, but your ancestor refused, due to the poisonous whisperings of others, to accept it.” He shook his head. “But I do not seek to be a kinslayer. I do not seek to end your line because of some petty old grievance between men who are long dead.”Daenerys blinked. “But you still desire to be King.”Aegon shook his head.“I never wanted a crown, and I certainly never asked or demanded it,” Aegon replied. “But I’ve a duty. A duty I cannot ignore because too many people look to me to lead. They have trusted me to be their King and I will not fail them.”Jon glanced at Daenerys, knew the look on her face, knew she was remembering Davos’ words to her on Dragonstone, and when the Targaryen Queen looked to him, her gaze was soft and warm.“We three are very similar,” she said softly, looking back at Aegon. “None of us sought the power we have but we seek to wield it for the betterment of others.” She shook her head again. “But there is no time to squabble for the Iron Throne. Not when the true enemy is coming.”Aegon frowned, not understanding, but he listened as they explained about the Night King and his army, about the dead marching and how, if they did not make a stand, if they did not stop them now, there would be no kingdom left to fight over. It was the same speech they had given to Cersei Lannister, but, unlike the lion queen, Aegon seemed to believe them even without a walking dead man for proof. When Jon questioned that, Aegon shrugged, explaining that he had seen a great many strange things, things that he could not explain, and he was willing to go on faith.Daenerys was still skeptical, still doubted Aegon, both his identity and his intentions, but she knew they needed all the allies they could get and, within days, they were travelling, as quickly as they could for Winterfell.Jon was happy to return home, happier still to be reunited with Arya and Bran, clutching them both to him, fighting back his tears, thanking the gods, Old and New, for bringing them home. He wasn’t surprised when Sansa was hesitant with Daenerys and Aegon, wary of having them, and their combined forces, in the home they had fought so hard to win back. But, with the growing war, with the news that the Wall had fallen and the dead were coming quicker, there was little time for doubt or suspicions.Bran, before Jon left again for battle, with no certainty of when or even if he would return, took Jon aside, with help from Sam, and explained the truth of Jon’s parentage to him. Jon spent hours in the crypts, before the statue of Ned Stark, trying to decide what to do with his knowledge and, in the end, he made his brother and his friend swear to keep the secret. He may have been born a Targaryen but he’d been raised a Stark and he would always be a Stark. He was Ned Stark’s son. And that, he decided, was enough. It was more than enough. The war waged for over a year. With only the combined armies of the North, the Vale, Neck, Dothraki, Unsullied and Golden Company to fight the army of the Night King. Cersei Lannister’s forces never came, a betrayal that stung deep and made Daenerys swear to feed the lying bitch to Drogon.During the final battle it was the combined efforts of Jon, Aegon and Danerys that finally dispatched the Night King. Jon had been overpowered by the demon, about to be struck down, when Aegon drove Blackfyre through the Night King’s back, making it scream and jerk, the Valyrian blade not enough to kill but to wound and Jon, bleeding, barely able to stand, struck fast and hard with Longclaw, catching the Night King’s heart and, from above, Daenerys screamed a word in High Valyrian that made Drogon bellow fiercely before unleashing a burst of fire over the demon that had been the world’s deadliest enemy. When the Night King fell, finally dead, so too did his army, hundreds of thousands of corpses once again dead, left for the living to burn, refusing to risk their rise again.Upon returning to Winterfell, Jon, still injured from the final battle, made it clear, to both Daenerys and Aegon, that he would not choose sides between them, that, in their fight for the throne, the North would be completely neutral. It turned out, however, that he had little to worry about as Aegon and Daenerys had decided, after all the death and blood and suffering, that it would be better for the realm if, rather than fight over the throne, they claimed it together. Dealing with Cersei Lannister would be trouble enough, they did not need to also fight each other.Jon, pleased by this, agreed to help, but only once their forces were properly recovered, and was more than happy to retire to his bedchamber, wanting nothing more than a well earned rest. He was surprised when, within the hour, Aegon joined him, the door closing quietly behind the Blackfyre king.“You scared me out there,” Aegon admitted quietly, crawling into the bed alongside Jon, barely able to look at the stark, white bandages covering wounds inflicted by the Night King. “I looked up and he had you and I…I thought…gods…I don’t know what I thought.”“Wouldn’t be the first time I died.” Jon winced at his own words even as that fierce purple gaze dropped to his chest, to the scars from the brothers who had betrayed him. Aegon reached out, hand resting over the scar over Jon’s heart, his touch was warm and strong and Jon’s heart leapt fiercely.“I don’t want to watch you die,” Aegon whispered. “I don’t like the idea of you dying.”“Aegon…”Aegon ducked his head, pressing a kiss to Jon’s lips, pulling back only far enough to press his forehead to Jon’s, their gazes locked. The Blackfyre king whispered words, High Valyrian, and Jon’s nose wrinkled. Daenerys had been trying, in what few quiet moments they had during the war, to teach him her mother tongue but he hadn’t picked up much. Aegon smiled at him before pecking his lips again.“I love you,” Aegon whispered. “I love you, Jon Snow.”Jon smiled and, despite how it pulled at his still healing wounds, he reached up, tangling his fingers in Aegon’s hair, tugging him back in to kiss again, whispering the words back between kisses. He knew he would need to tell Aegon, to tell everyone, the truth of his parentage, show them the documents Sam had found proving it, but for now, in the quiet peace they had fought so hard to win, he just wanted this. Just him and Aegon. Everything else could wait a while longer.

camping out for BILLIAM HADER 3/17/18
OUT OF THE 8 TIMES IVE BEEN IN THE SNL AUDIENCE, THIS WAS THE BEST I FEEL FUCKING BLESSED
FIRST OFF this was the first time @jamesxfallon and I met irl and she’s amazing so go follow
She got in line at 8:00pm Thursday and I got there at like 8:30 so we were in line for 35 hours. Honestly, it was worth it lol we were the first 2 in line!
Wasn’t that cold, I had a bunch of layers on and used a bunch of hand warmers. Slept on the ground a lot and I’m not even sore
SO I MET BILL HADER. THAT WAS PRETTY FUCKING AWESOME. He’s my favorite former cast member asdfgdjsalk couldn’t stop shaking after I met him. Right before jamesxfallon and I got to the line, snl started hinting that he would visit on Friday
Tumblr media
About 2 hours before he came out, some people set up a sign next to us that said we were going to be recorded for snl
Tumblr media
Then about 30ish minutes before, one of the pages came out to hype us up. “We have a surprise for you guys! It rhymes with.......Will...Wader. Will Wader!” SHE WAS REALLY REALLY PRETTY AND SUPER SWEET and we talked a little bit about how I keep registering for certain classes so that I’ll have Fridays off. (btw i just registered for all of my classes next school year and got Fridays off again bc I’m crazy and way too committed to snl)
SO BILL CAME OUT AND SHOOK MY HAND AND SAID “HI IM BILL!” LIKE YEAH I KNOW I LOVE YOU
Tumblr media
^I look way too happy but owell. When he came back I asked him to sign my Stefon card from the SNL Playing Cards! Think I might’ve been the only one that asked for an autograph lol
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then they handed out chocolate bars with his face on the wrapper lmao and donuts! They actually filmed that part but I guess they cut it out bc we all sounded fake and way too excited 😅
Also I saw Alex on Friday night when he was leaving and said hi to him
Oh! Alex! Hi! Hi! asdfjksa sorry, I’m a big fan! Thank you!
Got to sit in the front row of the center section again!!! You can’t even see me, but I’m there
Tumblr media
Things I remember:
Steven Spielberg walked right by me when I was waiting outside the Peacock Lounge!!!!!!!
Che does a bit where he asks the audience if anyone voted for Trump (he has done this like every single time I’ve gone) and no one answers and he makes joke about it, but this time some guy LOUDLY cheered and Che was shook “That’s never worked before... well I don’t care who you voted for, because we’re all here for one reason, and that is to laugh!”
Cecily using a weird voice at one point during the warm-up song asdfgksj i love her sm
flipped my shit when i saw fred armisen
Kate was standing in front of the green screen dressed as sessions and she walked in a circle and pretended to trip a crew member (she just stuck her foot out and he didn’t even move bc she’s so tiny lol he just laughed and swatted her away)
YALL I FLIPPED MY SHIT WHEN I SAW THE CALIFORNIANS SET
before the irish dating show, bill was just sitting in the chair and he looked at the audience and started waving at us and like kicked his foot out
He actually waved at the audience a lot! 3 or 4 times
Before Arcade Fire’s first song they asked everyone to stand up to keep up the energy. I thought that was really cool! I’ve never seen a musical guest ask the audience to participate like that! Really enjoyed their performance
Before introducing Arcade Fire a second time, Bill stood on stage and just made weird sounds like “WOO WOOOOO” and i think jamesxfallon wooed back and he heard and wooed again
I SCREAMED SO MUCH WHEN STEFON CAME OUT ASDFGHJKL i sent snl a whole essay about how much i love the show and i started it with a joke about stefon and thats how i won tickets to my first snl taping SO FULL CIRCLE GUYS
my friend insists that she can hear me screaming when stefon shows up lmao who knows
YOU CAN HEAR jamesxfallon SCREAM THRICE WHEN JOHN MULANEY SHOWS UP (this is your legacy and im proud of you) she called it on thursday night that john would probably show up
JON HAMM SHOWED UP OUT OF NO WHERE AT THE END OF THE SHOW SO THAT WAS COOL

Coil - Astral Disaster (LP)  $26.99In 1998, Coil were invited to record at Sun Dial’s studios beneath the London Bridge Hop Exchange—a studio originally know as Samurai Studios, originally built and owned by Iron Maiden. The premises in Victorian times was an old debtors prison which had three underground levels, and still had the original chains, manacles and wrought iron doors from the old prison. This caught the attention of John Balance, who was very keen to record there. Coil spent a number of days recording at the studio during Halloween 1998. With Gary Ramon’s help, they developed a number of tracks, some of which resulted in this LP. Ramon produced and mixed the Astral Disaster recordings, as well as playing guitar and sitar on these sessions. A version of the album was later remixed by the band and released on their own label—but the Prescription mixes as released in 1999 are unique. This rare album was part of the legendary subscription-only Prescription label album series in the late 1990’s, issued in an edition of 99 signed and numbered copies, long since sold out. (If you are wondering, originals fetch £700+). This is the first time the album is being released officially since 1999. Taken from the original masters, this reissue comes with original sleeve artwork, insert, and the facsimile signatures of John Balance and Peter Christopherson that came with the first issue. Yellow vinyl limited edition of possibly the rarest of all Coil recordingsRecorded in 1998 at Sun Dial studios, in the bowels of a Victorian era debtor’s prison Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me (2xLP)  $44.99Fire Walk With Me is an altogether more brooding affair than the Twin Peaks series soundtrack. Badalamenti won a grammy for the title track of this LP and it’s not hard to see why- it’s dangerous, and bursting with smokey jazz thanks to Jimmy Scott. We went back to the master tapes in the Warner Archives and had this recut to fit across two LPs as the score clocks in at 51 minutes. It sounds incredible and punchy, but super nuanced too.Director approved artworkComposer approved audioSleeve notes by film critic Mark Kermode (approved by David Lynch and Angelo Badalamenti)Vinyl re-master by Tal Miller at Warner ArchivesLaquers cut by David Cheppa at Plush Vinyl2 × 180G Cherry Pie vinyl425gsm Gatefold sleeve housed inside a bespoke black die cut outer jacket with black spot varnish finish, complete with obi strip Angelo Badalamenti - Twin Peaks (Original Soundtrack) (LP) - 2nd Pressing  $32.99“I’m glad that after 25 years, Death Waltz Recording Company has re-released the original soundtrack for Twin Peaks for a new audience to enjoy. This is my defining work as a composer and I’m happy it will get a fresh listen” – Angelo Badalamenti 2016 Hayes McMullan - Every Day Seem Like Murder Here (LP)  $31.99Bluesman. Sharecropper. Church deacon. Civil Rights activist. Hayes McMullan should be a name on every Blues aficionados’ short-list and thanks to the preservation fieldwork carried out by one of the genre’s greatest researchers some 50 years ago – it might soon be. Born in 1902, Hayes McMullan was discovered by the renowned American roots scholar, collector and documentarian Gayle Dean Wardlow. Wardlow, author of the seminal blues anthology Chasin’ That Devil Music – Searching for the Blues, may be most famous for uncovering Robert Johnson’s death certificate in 1968, finally revealing clues to the bluesman’s mysterious and much disputed demise. Moreover, in his tireless and committed mission to preserve the Blues for future generations, he captured McMullan’s raw talent on tape and on paper. Wardlow recorded these sessions, transcribed the songs and now, writes the sleeve-notes for this landmark release. Wardlow and McMullan met by chance on one of the former’s record-hunting trips, in Tallahatchie County, Mississippi, in 1967. Having introduced himself to McMullan on a hunch, it turned out this unassuming elderly man had not only heard of Wardlow’s idol, Charley Patton, but had played alongside him in the 1920s, as part of a brief musical journey that took him from the plantation to the open roads and juke joints of the Depression-era South. Striking up a friendship that was deemed unorthodox in 1960’s Mississippi, Wardlow traveled to McMullan’s sharecropper’s shack and convinced him to play guitar for the first time since he quit the Blues for the Church in the 30’s. “Hayes was playing like no one I had ever heard,” Wardlow writes with amazement. Wardlow visited McMullan on a handful of occasions, always taking his recorder, a guitar and some whiskey with him. It was during these visits that Wardlow captured – with surprising clarity – the songs that make up Everyday Seem Like Murder Here. Hayes McMullan passed away at the age of 84 in 1986, his talent and legacy largely unknown. “Reflecting now on our brief time together, I marvel at the small glimpse of something much larger I was lucky to have captured,” writes Wardlow. “The few old snapshots I took, the handful of tunes we recorded, and his brilliant performance of “Hurry Sundown” captured on film are all that’s left of the musical legacy of Hayes McMullan, sharecropper, deacon, and—unbeknownst to so many for so long—reluctant bluesman.” Konami Kukeiha Club - Castlevania 2: Simon's Quest OST (LP)  $27.99Mondo is proud to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Castlevania franchise with the premiere vinyl release of the original soundtrack to the 1987 Famicom / Nintendo Entertainment System sequel: Simon’s Quest. Featuring both the NES and FAMICOM versions of all 9 BMG tracks from the game. Musically, Simon’s Quest is the origin of one of the most popular of Castlevania BMG, “Bloody Tears.” A staple of the sonic landscape for the series, here it is as the soundtrack to your daylight encounters across the dangerous Transylvanian landscape. It is one of the catchiest 8-Bit tunes to ever come out of this era of Konami games and an example of the best of what Video Game Music has to offer. IN ON THURSDAY RUSSELL, ARTHURInstrumentals 2LP  $34.99"Remastered double LP with 12 page booklet including liner notes by Tim Lawrence, Ernie Brooks and Arthur Russell. All material previously released on the Audika CD compilation First Thought Best Thought (2006). Before disco, and before the transcendent echoes, Arthur wanted to be a composer. His journey began in 1972, leaving home in Oskaloosa, Iowa. Heading west to Northern California, Arthur studied Indian classical composition at the Ali Akbar Khan College of Music followed by western orchestral music at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, before ending two years later in New York at the Manhattan School of Music. Traversing the popular and the serious, Arthur composed Instrumentals in 1974, inspired by the photography of his Buddhist teacher, Yuko Nonomura, as Arthur described, 'I was awakened, or re-awakened to the bright-sound and magical qualities of the bubblegum and easy-listening currents in American popular music.' Initially intended to be performed in one 48 hour cycle, Instrumentals was in fact only performed in excerpts a handful of times as a work in progress. The legendary performances captured live in New York at The Kitchen (1975 and 1978) and Franklin St. Arts Center (1977) feature the cream of that eras downtown new music scene including Ernie Brooks, Rhys Chatham, Julius Eastman, Jon Gibson, Peter Gordon, Garrett List, Andy Paley, Bill Ruyle, Dave Van Tieghem, and Peter Zummo. Pitchfork lauded Instrumentals Vol. 1 as a masterpiece and one of Arthur's 'greatest achievements'. Americana touching on Copeland, Ives, and maybe even Brian Wilson. Instrumentals Vol. 2 is a moving, deeply pastoral work performed by the CETA Orchestra and conducted by Julius Eastman. Also included are two of Arthur's most elusive compositions, 'Reach One', and 'Sketch For Face Of Helen'. Recorded live in 1975 at Phill Niblock's Experimental Intermedia Foundation, 'Reach One' is a minimal, hypnotic ambient soundscape written and performed for two Fender Rhodes pianos. 'Sketch For Face Of Helen' was inspired by Arthur's work with friend and composer Arnold Dreyblatt, recorded with an electronic tone generator, keyboard and ambient recordings of a rumbling tugboat from the Hudson River. For this remastered vinyl edition, a key part of Arthur's musical life has been restored. The sparkling, multidimensional results take the listener closer to Arthur's coast-to-coast journey: his iconoclastic determination to combine pop and art music; and his desire to make music that would resonate in the present and, ultimately, across time." BROTZMANN/VAN HOVE/BENNINK PLUS ALBERT MANGELSDORFFElements LP   $34.99Peter Brötzmann: tenor saxophone; Fred Van Hove: piano; Han Bennink: drums, voice; Albert Mangelsdorff: trombone. Recorded during the Free Music Market, August 27 and 28, 1971, in Berlin. Designed by Peter Brötzmann. Part of the legendary "Berlin Trilogy" originally released by FMP in 1971 (FMP 0030). 180-gram vinyl. One-time pressing of 500. First standalone reissue. "What reveals itself in the über energetics on display here is the ability of one quartet to take so much for granted and yet express so much in the process. Van Hove, for instance, shuns all conventions in his approach to the piano: he quotes Liszt and Schubert as well as Ellington and Peterson then wipes all of them out with his elbows as if erasing a chalkboard. His 'Florence Nightingale' is a perfect example. Texturally, he creates diversions from the fury while never disengaging from it. Brötzmann and Mangelsdorff are out and out challenging each other to see who can destroy their instruments first, and Han Bennick is the most proactive percussionist in jazz history. His use of anything and everything while simultaneously playing a trap kit that creates time is astonishing. Elsewhere, on Brötzmann's 'Elements,' African percussion and slow, long opened tonal drones by Mangelsdorff create a backdrop for the other two to explore without rushing in. Brötzmann enters almost tenderly, looking for a room to exit out of, but engaging himself in the microtonalities created by the rhythm section. Van Hove's long augmented chords create a mode for not opening but splintering that exit and Brötzmann ushers the band through in a hurry heading for the outer reaches of the possible. . . . one of the best documents of the period on any continent." --Thom Jurek, AllMusic, 1991 BROTZMANN/VAN HOVE/BENNINK PLUS ALBERT MANGELSDORFFCouscouss de la Mauresque  $34.99Peter Brötzmann: tenor saxophone; Fred Van Hove: piano; Han Bennink: drums, voice; Albert Mangelsdorff: trombone. Recorded during the Free Music Market, August 27 and 28, 1971, in Berlin. Designed by Peter Brötzmann. Part of the legendary "Berlin Trilogy" originally released by FMP in 1971 (FMP 0040). 180-gram vinyl. One-time pressing of 500. First standalone reissue. "Brötzmann's regular trio was joined by the trombonist Albert Mangelsdorff, one of the most respected German jazz musicians, who has managed to keep abreast of musical developments for more than a decade. Those who remember him only for those fine early-sixties albums (like Tension, on German CBS) will be in for a shock, because he's updated his playing all the way. On 'Couscouss De La Mauresque', for instance, his tonal distortions rival those of Paul Rutherford, as he backs Brötzmann's wailing with a rip-snorting obligato. He has the advantage of being a virtuous technician, so that some of his wilder flights are truly breathtaking. . . . Mangelsdorff's technique doesn't hinder his fire, either, and he's well able to stand up to the rest of this very hairy band. Van Hove and Bennink obviously know each other inside out by now, and you'll hear few more exciting passages of music than their interlude during the trombonist's solo on 'Couscouss'. Bennink is getting further into textures every day, and on this album makes great play with his steel-drum and many unidentifiable implements, thus giving the music a great deal of variety. If you wanted to buy just one of these records, it would be very hard to choose because the level is so high throughout." --Richard Williams, Melody Maker, February 5, 1972 BROTZMANN/VAN HOVE/BENNINK PLUS ALBERT MANGELSDORFFThe End  $34.99Peter Brötzmann: tenor saxophone; Fred Van Hove: piano; Han Bennink: drums, voice; Albert Mangelsdorff: trombone. Recorded during the Free Music Market, August 27 and 28, 1971, in Berlin. Designed by Peter Brötzmann. Part of the legendary "Berlin Trilogy" originally released by FMP in 1971 (FMP 0050). 180-gram vinyl. One-time pressing of 500. First standalone reissue. "The great thing about this trilogy/set is how naturally everything flows. . . . each subdividing of the group, each solo excursion, feels smooth and logical, as though the player(s) in question had nodded to the others as if to say 'Gimme a minute here, I've got an idea,' and received assent in response. There's all the ferocity any free jazz diehard could ask for, but it never goes on so long that it becomes schtick, and it's always countered by passages that are genuinely beautiful in the most conventional, you-could-play-this-for-your-mom sense. Even without Mangelsdorff, Brötzmann, Van Hove and Bennink were a remarkably empathetic and attuned team, and when he joined them (and these records document their second and third times playing together, ever), everyone's game was raised." --Phil Freeman, Burning Ambulance, 2013 Dominatrix: Dominatrix Sleeps Tonight LP $19.992017 edition. "The Dominatrix Sleeps Tonight has a long and storied history among connoisseurs of '80s New York dance music. Combining catchy, deadpan synth-pop and classic '80s electro hallmarks with the provocative edge of leather-and-lace sex culture, it remains a worldwide dancefloor staple to this day. Despite its popularity, little has been known about the song's background. The brainchild of producer Stuart Argabright (nee Arbright, a member of the groups Ike Yard and Death Comet Crew); alongside DJ and remixer Ivan Ivan; Kenneth Lockie (from Cowboys International, and early Death Comet Crew); and vocalist Claudia Summers; the song's dominating female subject was based on a person whom Arbright had dated. The song -- and a banned-by-MTV video that today could be mistaken for a Victoria's Secret commercial -- became a club smash at famed Danceteria and other urban meccas. But, despite some leather-clad live dates in 1984, the group itself was short-lived. This special Get On Down vinyl edition is sure to be coveted by fans and collectors. Beyond four original mixes of the song (12", Chants, Dominant and Beat Me) that fans know and love -- this full-length LP includes the newly unearthed song 'Play It Safe' and the rarely heard, hypnotic 'City That Never Sleeps,' in addition to the rare 1984 'Scratch Mix' of the original title song, with cuts by the legendary DJ Red Alert. The deluxe vinyl package is accompanied by a 16-page glossy booklet with text by writer Dave Tompkins and input from Argabright and Ivan Ivan. Additionally, fans will be thrilled into submission by visuals and press clips relating to the original release on Arthur Baker's Street Wise Records; the song's provocative video; as well as the dominatrix culture in New York City at the time which inspired this unlikely smash hit." Moondog: Viking Of Sixth 2LP $26.992017 repress, originally released in 2005. Tremendous gatefold presentation and one of HJR's most impressive documents to date. "The first overview of Moondog's amazing artistic life -- including recordings spanning from 1949 till 1995, with numerous 78s and various other vanished records revived for the first time (not to mention a couple of Weegee photographs!)." JULIE'S HAIRCUTInvocation And Ritual Dance Of My Demon Twin   $18.99Julie's Haircut - Italy's premiere psychedelic explorers - create a deep-end approach to sonic innovation on Invocation And Ritual Dance Of My Demon Twin, their debut release for Rocket Recordings. Seven albums into their mission, the band find themselves at a new plateau of small-hours elucidation and revelation that may summon the specters of the wayward squall of early Mercury Rev, the shamanic allure of Dead Skeletons, the freedom of Miles Davis, the repetition of Can, or the wild soundscapes of Amon Düül II to some, yet essentially sound like no one but themselves. The result is a record built on trance-like repetitions that grows to a mantric intensity, summoning atmospheres redolent of the psychic and surreal transgressions of its title - a double-helix tribute to both Frank Zappa and Kenneth Anger. Coruscating guitar overload and jazz-tinged blow-out collide amidst hypnotic soundscapes like the shamanically inclined "The Fire Sermon" and the eleven-minute motorik magnificence of the curtain-raiser, "Zukunft". Atmospheric restraint, glacial texture, and immersive groove play as large a part in this blinding and beatific sound world as droning darkness or overheated amp tubes. Lucier, A: Music On Long Thin Wire CD $14.991992 release. First released on Lovely Music in 1980. A 50-foot length of taut wire passes through the poles of a large magnet and is driven by an oscillator; the vibrations of the wire are miked at either end, amplified, and broadcast in stereo. The thin wire is set vibrating four times at four different frequencies; what results is not the low drone one might expect from a long, vibrating wire, but a complexity of evocative, ethereal chords. Music On A Long Thin Wire is a classic example of Alvin Lucier's investigations into the physics of sound and the sonic properties of natural processes. CHRISTIANSEN, HENNING  $29.99Opus 67 Strategygetarts A Symphony, Hommage A Richard Demarco LPOpus 67 Strategygetarts A Symphony, Hommage Á Richard Demarco is a previously unissued recording by Henning Christiansen from 1971. In 1970, the Richard Demarco Gallery in collaboration with the Kunsthalle Düsseldorf organized the exhibition, Strategy: Get Arts. This celebration of art from Düsseldorf was held at the Edinburgh College of Art during the Edinburgh International Festival. The title of the exhibition was a palindrome created by André Thomkins and featured works by Joseph Beuys, Claus Böhmler, George Brecht, Henning Christiansen, Robert Filliou, Dorothy Iannone, Mauricio Kagel, and Dieter Roth amongst others. Opus 67 Strategygetarts A Symphony, Hommage Á Richard Demarco was sent to Richard Demarco as a gift following the exhibition. Having returned to Denmark, Christiansen, along with sound technician Peter Sakse, created Strategygetarts, a sound collage incorporating field recordings from urban spaces, supermarkets, a boxing game, etc. The sole "musical" element is a piano motif which repeatedly punctuates the recordings. The first side moves forwards, the flip back. A reverse groove will set you straight. Opus 67 Strategygetarts A Symphony, Hommage Á Richard Demarco comes in a high-gloss sleeve, featuring two original artworks by Henning Christiansen; Edition of 500.

We had a beautiful sunny weekend here in Ottawa and the Rideau Canal Skateway opened for the first time this winter. I went for a walk in the sun and then finished up the first volume of the two volume Strangers in Paradise Omnibus by Terry Moore which my partner Chris let me borrow. I read the story as floppies but it was very nice to re-read the story about the volcanic relationship between Francine and Katchoo again. I highly recommend any comic book that Terry does.
Scarlet Witch #14 - James Robinson (writer) Shawn Crystal (art) Chris Brunner (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). Wanda's journey along the Witch's Road finally comes to an end with the expected result of witchcraft being cured. It's neat that Shawn's art pays homage to Steve Ditko's Doctor Strange dimensional vistas but why is Agatha Harkness young looking now?
Unworthy Thor #3 - Jason Aaron (writer) Kim Jacinto & Olivier Coipel (art) Matthew Wilson (colours) VC's Joe Sabino (letters). The Collector's hammer is being sought by many. The Odinson wants it and so does Thanos. My money is on U-Thor and his companions getting their hands on it in the end.
Amazing Spider-Man Renew Your Vows #3 - Gerry Conway (writer) Ryan Stegman (art) Sonia Oback (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). This issue features Anna May Parker in and out of costume. Gerry must watch a lot of Nickelodeon to make his kids sound so authentic. Annie is young, foolish and hot-headed which makes for some interesting situations. This is a fun book that I think more fans should be reading.
Justice League/Power Rangers #1 - Tom Taylor (writer) Stephen Byrne (art & colours) Deron Bennett (letters). I don't read either of these teams' comic books but I like Tom's writing so I picked this up to see what he could do with these characters. I have no clue what the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers are about but they seem like a decent bunch. The story is pretty basic with an accidental interdimensional hop including a super villain. If you like the Batman and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle team up you'll enjoy this too.
Moonshine #4 - Brian Azzarello (writer) Eduardo Risso (art & colours) Jared H. Fletcher (letters). If the creature doesn't make you howl then Tempest will by the time you get to the end of this issue. I did not see that coming.
Daredevil #15 - Charles Soule (writer) Goran Sudzuka (art) Matt Milla (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). Here's something else I did not see coming. We have the return of one of Daredevil's arch enemies back from the dead. At least I think they died. It's hard to keep track.
Action Comics #971 - Dan Jurgens (writer) Stephen Segovia (pencils) Art Thibert (inks) Arif Prianto (colours) Rob Leigh (letters). The trial of Lex Luthor takes a surprising turn and he and Superman are still not home free. Meanwhile back home, Lois and Jon are caught in a place where they shouldn't be by Clark Kent. It's going to be fun to see how mom and son explain their trespass.
Groo: Fray of the Gods #4 - Sergio Aragones & Mark Evanier (writers) Sergio Aragones (art) Tom Luth (colours) Stan Sakai (letters). It's always distracting whenever the Minstrel appears in a Groo comic book because of the ever changing end of his instrument. This mini ends with much dining and fraying for Groo but the gods don't actually fight throughout this story. Oh well, what do you expect from a Groo comic?
Uncanny Avengers #19 - Gerry Duggan (writer) Pepe Larraz with Rodrigo Zayas (art) Dono Sanchez Almara (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). Looks like the Red Skull has this team in his complete control but there is one hero left to come to the rescue. It's Gerry's homeboy Deadpool. Wade can't do it all alone so it's team up time. I like who he rustles up to help save the day.
Wonder Woman #14 - Greg Rucka (writer) Nicola Scott (art) Romulo Fajardo Jr. (colours) Jodi Wynne (letters). This issue concludes "Year One" with a battle between Diana and Ares the God of War. One must suspend belief that Diana can fly all around the world carry Steve Trevor to stop the poison gas from being deployed. Maybe she got help from Santa Claus. I felt a little let down by Greg with that miracle move, but otherwise this story has been pretty good. Good enough for me to keep reading now that the first two storylines have ended.
Red Sonja #1 - Amy Chu (writer) Carlos Gomez (art) Mohan (colours) Simon Bowland (letters). I hope you read the twenty-five cent #0 or you will be wondering how Sonja ends up in modern Manhattan. Amy solves the problem of Sonja speaking ancient Hyrkanian by introducing a handsome young police officer who sort of understands the language. This is quite similar to the Rebirth Wonder Woman book but different enough that a long time fan  like me still finds it worth reading.
Occupy Avengers #3 - David F. Walker (writer) Carlos Pacheco (pencils) Rafael Fonteriz (inks) Sonia Oback with Wil Quintana (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). I'm not a fan of the title. I think comic book buyers have Avengers fatigue and would be more likely to buy this book if it was called Marvel Team-Up starring Hawkeye. I am enjoying it so far and would recommend it. Here we have Hawkeye and Red Wolf getting help from Nighthawk and his sidekick Deadly Nightshade to track down some shady cybernetics in Chicago. There are some surprise appearances at the end of this issue but they do make sense when you consider the evidence that Hawkeye brings to the search. Next issue should have some wahoo fun.
Detective Comics #948 - James Tynion IV & Marguerite Bennett (writers) Ben Oliver (art) Marilyn Patrizio (letters). Batwoman Begins part one. This is a good primer to read before Kate's own book hits the racks next month. I hope DC doesn't screw it up again.
Dr. Strange/The Punisher: Magic Bullets #2 - John Barber (writer) Jason Muhr (storyboards) Andrea Broccardo & Dominike "Domo" Stanton (art) Andres Mossa (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). I like Stephen and Frank and thought that the two of them teaming up would be fun but this story is turning into an unbelievable magical mystery tour with bad art. Shoot me now.
Hal Jordan and the Green Lantern Corps #12 - Robert Venditti (writer) Ethan Van Sciver (art) Jason Wright (colours) Dave Sharpe (letters). Green and Yellow Lantern Corps combine to crush the Orange Corp. Larfleeze even helps. Ethan draws the best aliens.
Jessica Jones #4 - Brian Michael Bendis (writer) Michael Gaydos (art) Matt Hollingsworth (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). The meeting with Captain Marvel explains a lot and made me decide to stick with this. I really hope Luke and Jessica's marriage doesn't suffer from what Jess has to do.
Totally Awesome Hulk #14 - Greg Pak (writer) German Peralta (art) Jay David Ramos & Dono Sanchez Almara (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). The two part team up with Jeremy Lin ends, thank Thor. This one is great for the kiddies but I found it to be a bit silly.
Ms. Marvel #14 - G. Willow Wilson (writer) Takeshi Miyazawa (art) Ian Herring (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). The World of Battlecraft fight to start off this issue was fun. Now that Bruno's gone (I miss him), Kamala has to figure out stuff on her own. Someone is stalking her but we don't know if he's good or evil. I'm guessing evil since he looks like the Green Goblin.
Spider-Man/Deadpool #13 - Joe Kelly (writer) Ed McGuinness (pencils) Mark Morales, John Dell & Ed McGuinness (inks) Jason Keith (colours) VC's Joe Sabino (letters). It's an adventure in Weirdworld as the two heroes recover from their fight with Itsy Bitsy. I really like Joe's version of Wade with the soupcon of humanity.
Guardians of the Galaxy #16 - Brian Michael Bendis (writer) Valerio Schiti (art) Richard Isanove (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). This issue is one long poem featuring everyone's favourite sentient one phrase tree. He is Groot. Some of the verses made my brain cringe however. I hope this isn't the last issue that Brian writes because I would hate to see his run end on a dissatisfying note.
Justice League vs. Suicide Squad #4 - Joshua Williamson (writer) Fernando Pasarin (pencils) Matt Ryan (inks) Alex Sinclair with Jeremiah Skipper (colours) Rob Leigh (letters). Max Lord and his team of super villains break into Belle Reve Penitentiary to get the thing that he needs to take over the world. We haven't seen this artefact since that special cover from 1992. I wish I can remember how they beat that bad guy 25 years ago then I wouldn't have to read the last 2 issues of this mini.
Inhumans vs. X-Men 2 - Jeff Lemire & Charles Soule (writers) Leinil Francis Yu (pencils) Gerry Alanguilan (inks) David Curiel (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). This war of the genetically enhanced seems to be contrived given what the Mutants' objective is in attacking Attilan, the home of the Inhumans. They couldn't just ask? I'm reading this because I love Leinil's art and it's still pretty exciting. Plus you never know what shocking "deaths" will claim the life of  some characters.
Mighty Thor #15 - Jason Aaron (writer) Russell Dauterman (art) Matthew Wilson (colours) VC's Joe Sabino (letters). The Asgard/Shi'Ar War starts here. Don't know why the Shi'Ar are all up in arms but I'm sure we'll find out. Russell is back drawing the whole issue and that makes me very happy. Judging from the cover the Unworthy Thor could be involved and that makes me excited.
Spider-Man #12 - Brian Michael Bendis (writer) Sara Pichelli (art) Gaetano Carlucci (inking assist) Justin Ponsor (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). It's interdimensional adventure time. Miles goes to another dimension to rescue his dad. There he meets Spider-Gwen as depicted on the cover. The kissy face must come later because this issue is all set up. This story crosses over with Spider-Gwen #16 and I like Miles so much that I will actually read that issue to see what happens next.
All-New Wolverine #16 - Tom Taylor (writer) Nik Virella (art) Michael Garland (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). Laura's current predicament in Madripoor seems simple and boring until you get to the last page and BOOM, someone comes out of left field. Things just got less boring.
