Bee’s bashful expression here is adorable. ☺️

He does a very Optimus thing by launching into a Teaching Moment(TM) to deflect the compliment, but I can tell that the compliment hit its mark in the best way. ♡

It’s nice to see a Bumblebee who’s becoming a leader in a way that suits him as opposed to whatever RiD’15 Bee had going on for a while there. (No offense to him; he did eventually learn.)

Both versions of Bee want to be heroes and leaders, but EarthSpark has done what RiD could not and has set Bee up as a character who can reach his potential in a more believable way. Both look to the more experienced bots in their lives for guidance, but ES Bumblebee is more confident in his ability to stand on his own without appearing overconfident.

I love the use of the word "exploded" when bumblebee is trying to say smth about what happened to one of soundwave's cassettes bc like. it makes the viewer play a fun little game where they try to guess if he meant it in like the "oh all the film came out and soundwave had to wind it back up with a pencil or smth and then it was good as new" kind of way or the "one of soundwave's kids fucking blew up and died" kinda way

Ngl, I don't like how the new movie is changing the backstory. I wanted miner Megatron, I wanted him writing his manifesto, becoming a gladiator, starting a revolution. No atlmodes takes out the whole funtionist society, are at least Megatron's big chunk in it. Also, Bee being the same age as them is a very weird take. I've always seen Bee as being 20 and Megs and OP being in their 50s.

Changing the backstory?? My dude there IS no one backstory in transformers. Megatron hasn’t always been a miner/gladiator/revolutionary leader against functionism. This is a brand new continuity, not IDW or Aligned. For gods sake have we forgotten the LITERAL EVIL BRAINWORMS he had in G1???

I super love new and weird takes on old stuff, in case you’ve forgotten the premise of this blog. I have some qualms maybe but overall I’m excited for this. Also you seem really quick to dismiss the lore and worldbuilding potential of not everyone having tcogs. Limiting tcog use so that “lowly worker bots” don’t have any, and apparently many don’t even have NAMES, sounds like it could absolutely be a dystopic regime, just with a different manner of oppression than functionism.

Basically: tf fans stop expecting new continuities to be exactly like old canons challenge (failed)

It's good! I'm excited for a prewar cybertron that's gonna bring a lot of worldbuilding to the table! My only complaint is that Orion appears to be a miner here (could be wrong which i kinda hope) which I wish they kept the nerd-jock relationship they normally have in tf stuff. Still an interesting take though

It’s so heartbreaking to see Bumblebee, when he finally wakes up, sit in the corner of the Watsons’ garage and basically huddle up and cower. He’s scared, in a new place, and unable to remember anything, let alone speak. It’s also refreshing to see a cybertronian afraid of humans, too, instead of the other way around. But it’s also so heartbreaking, I love it.

My greatest and most cherished concept for a live action Transformers film is the idea of getting a minimum of like eight actors, who all look completlely different, and having them all play the holoform of one bot through the course of the movie.
