TEXT DOCTOR LORE SHEET: AL'KHIASTRIS, THE HELPFUL DOCTOR

Name: Al'khiastris (lit. "the unknowable one")

Age: 200 years old

Species: Sihru

Appearance: In his base form, Al'khiastris has a large, elongated nose, dark hair, and a humanoid body. To the observer, they look like a cross between a human and an anglerfish of sorts. He has a large, dark smile with lots of small, sharp teeth, and a thin, long tongue. He often hides his face behind a large, elongated mask which leaves his eyes exposed, but the mask doesn't allow him to speak through it. As a result, he talks using specialized < computer text > he generates through the tablet Hé he always carries. He has dark, beady eyes, and large, thick hands that end in long, shiny claws. He often wears a large overcoat, a black top hat, and a pair of polished brown Oxfords. Underneath their outfit, they exhibit the tell-tale signs of a Sihru, which include barnacle-like formations hanging from their arms and legs, large black fins on each arm, and three-toed feet. A "lantern" hangs from a tentacle on his forehead, something many have claimed resembles that of an anglerfish. He has purple skin, and his right leg is a prosthetic that forces him to use a cane when he walks, as it is slightly shorter than his flesh leg.

Powers: He is extremely smart. According to their assistant, the sea bishop Khasnje, his intelligence far exceeds that of even the most intelligent Sihru, though he often tries to downplay this whenever possible. He is also rather strong. This is an ability shared with the majority of the Sihru, though it only works underwater, as this is his natural habitat as well as that of his species. Despite this, he is still relatively strong compared to even their most buff land-dwelling friends. He is a well-known alchemist, but often has to travel on land to collect the things they use in their potions, and, as such, often has to wear sunglasses as he is not used to well-lit conditions (nor can he survive them). He is a really good swimmer, but prefers to walk on the ocean floor.

Companions: His only companions are his fiancé, Kz'asjmkhir, and his assistant, Khasnje. However, he considers his tablet, Hé, a pet of sorts. This is because it is sentient.

Bio: Al'khiastris was, as all Sihru are, born in a communal nursery, where he was raised by a jthri'mak (lit. mother of harmony). He stayed in the nursery until he was fifteen, just four years shy of aging out, before he escaped with only the clothes on his back and moved to Vvalvitheim, a small village at the bottom of the Huajing Sea, where he lived for the next eight years taking odd jobs to make ends meet. As the only Sihru in the village, he was often overlooked and given the lowest of the low when it came to jobs, but this was in large part due to the fear and prejudice of the majority species in the village: the mer. One such example of this was Mayor Whirlpool, who was the mayor for all eight years he lived there. Due to his innate...hatred, or so Al'khiastris says now, he would often host events and then exclude Al'khiastris from them. Due to this, and the fact he was often excluded from making decisions about his home that would affect him, he left Vvalvitheim, opting for a life as a nomad. Shortly following his voluntary exile from Vvalvitheim, he opened a travelling apothecary, the Wandering Potioncrafter's, and began taking orders and making potions for those in need, which he would personally deliver to his customers himself. It was during one of these deliveries that he met Khasnje, who was working for a rather...evil merlock at the time. The two met in secret for a while, with Al'khiastris sharing his trade secrets with her and her ranting about her boss whenever she absolutely needed an ear. After a few months of this, she quit her job, though not because she wanted to, and he offered her a position working alongside him at his shop. She took the offer, and they've been working together ever since. However, as of the last year SSC (Sihru State Calendar), the two have settled down in Al'khiastris' hometown, Zal'tksaalmn, where they live to this day, and Al'khiastris has gotten engaged to fellow Sihru Kz'asjmkhir, who now helps him stock his shop.

Home/Shop: His home and shop are one and the same. His home comprises the second floor of a large two-story building that had once been a duplex, and his shop comprises the first floor. A framed photo of his close friend Crow (@wizardfamiliarchan) hangs on the wall of his shop above a plaque that says "best customer", and various potion bottles line the closest wall. His house, on the other hand, is rather bare, but it is furnished in a way that would evoke memories of one's first apartment in any human who can withstand the depths.

Trivia

He does not accept human customers.

He has many nicknames, but one he's fond of is "Khikhi".

Al'khiastris is not his real name. It is a nickname they were given by the people of Zal'tksaalmn.

He curses a lot, but rarely ever in front of his customers.

It is unknown how he met Crow. It is theorized, however, that he rents his dragophin retinue from her.
