R.I.P. playwright Terrance McNally. I (pictured right) had the pleasure of performing in two of McNally's comic plays "Tour" and "Noon" with Rhea Seehorn (pictured center of Better Call Saul) at Studio Theatre in #WashingtonDC in the late 90s. - Stephen Wozniak

Ooh book asks! 3, 12, and 16 please
3. What were your top five books of the year?
I feel like I haven't had a knockout reading year honestly, but here are some in no particular order that are wildly different genres.
The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins
Into The Riverlands by Nghi Vo
A Woman of No Importance: The Untold Story of the American Spy Who Helped Win World War II by Sonia Purnell
Anastasia by Terrance McNally
Satisfaction Guaranteed by Karelia Stetz-Waters
12. Any books that disappointed you?
I started She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen, and while I'm sure I'll finish it, I'm not really feeling it. I've heard amazing things, so maybe I just need to get a little farther in.
16. What is the most over-hyped book you read this year?
I lived in a cave when it came to reading this year. I used to be pretty active in bookish online communities and really had my finger on it. This year, I don't even really know what's been hyped. Finally read Ballad because of the movie coming out, but I really enjoyed it. Personally I think it's under-hyped. I did not succumb to the pressure of reading Fourth Wing, even though everyone and my sister has said I should. This is a non-answer, but a lot of what I read were school related and/or scripts, and unless you'd like an answer of My Fair Lady (which feels like a cheap shot for a show that's not that bad), I don't think I have one.

March 24, 2020: Terrence McNally dies at 81 of complications from COVID-19.
McNally and Sondheim discussed working together on a musical they called All Together Now, but ultimately abandoned the project.
It was at Sondheim’s 50th birthday party in 1980 when Angela Lansbury confronted him about his drinking, which led him to quit.
