i say let them cook 🔥🔥🔥
I have returned from the dead. Happy Izana and Mocchi anime debut + other Tenjiku member crumbs! Here, have a post that has been cooking in my drafts.
RAN
Ran, cooking for himself, would go for easy, “lazy” recipes if ordering takeout wasn’t an option. If he’s cooking for you, though, he would want to impress. He’ll browse a bunch of recipe lists on his laptop and pick the most impressive-looking dishes thinking that cooking them “can’t be that hard.”
Goes on a trip to the grocery store for fresh ingredients, but soon finds out, after procrastinating his cooking that a) he got the wrong condiment/spice, or b) got the wrong cut of meat, or c) forgot a very important ingredient so Rindou kinda just finds his usually calm brother panicking in the kitchen because he doesn’t really want to disappoint. He soon regrets ever appearing because Ran sends him to the grocery store to get the right ingredients.
Rindou’s troubles did not end there because Ran had him help out in the cooking process when the guy just wanted to play video games. “Rindou, which one is the cilantro again?” “Rindou, slice the carrots.” “Rindou, why aren’t the slices even?” “Rindou, this is too salty. I think you oversea—” and poor Rin kind of just loses it.
RINDOU
He and Ran have the money to constantly eat out or order takeout, but ever since Rindou started following a diet, he’s learned to cook healthy dishes for himself. He’ll probably want to fix up something healthy for you too. What can I say, he cares about your health! Might actually scold you if he finds out you’ve been eating fatty stuff too often.
Rindou proposed the idea to you without thinking and didn’t expect you to agree so now he has to deliver! The pressure he feels to perform is no joke--like Ran, he would rather eat coal than disappoint his expectant S/O.
He’s a decent enough cook, more okay with getting his hands dirty than Ran. He’s no Kakucho, but he gets along just fine. If he can make food that’s edible and nutritious, then that’s good, right? But because of you, Rindou finds himself watching a bunch of how-to videos before the day of the house date.
Will be over the moon if you liked what he made! Eats up the praise and feels really good about himself. Does a dorky little fist pump and a deep sigh of relief once out of your sight.
SHION
Shion always goes for fast food/junk food if not eating over at someone else’s place or bullying people into giving him money for food. This guy cannot cook. He’d have to ask for help from another S62 member for this. He tries to ask Mocchi, Mucho, Rindou, and even Izana but they all just refer him to Kaku. Shion would rather die before asking someone younger than him for help. I mean, Kaku is already stronger and better than him at fighting and he’s bitter about that. It takes you telling him that you’re looking forward to his dish that he finally gives in, swallows his pride, and asks for help.
Shion was a difficult student. He’s the type to keep insisting that he already knows all the procedures and cooking terms only to fail at them horribly. It takes all of Kaku’s patience for them to get through the recipe.
When he gets something right, Shion starts to idealize cooking. He imagines himself finding a new passion in cooking, imagining Gordon Ramsay praising his dish, and running his own restaurant but this all stops when Kaku tells him to fry an egg.
IZANA
If he’s feeling stressed about preparations, the other Tenjiku boys have no choice but to help or else he’s going to make it everyone’s problem. They can even pinch stuff from your feast if they want.
Probably saves a bunch of recipes and has trouble deciding which ones to cook for you because he wants to make them all. Kaku helps him settle on a few easy dishes (”No, Izana. We can’t make Risotto. That’s difficult for beginners.”)
I’d place him at a spot higher than Rindou and Ran if we were to rank them all. Izana doesn’t really need that much help figuring out how things are done if he’s never done them before. Would feel more confident attempting to experiment in the kitchen. Has a thing for decorating too.
To buy ingredients, he would use his gang money to get everything he needs. For you, he’ll go for fancier/pricier than what he usually gets for himself. Would not just cook one dish as well. Would make up an entire feast for the both of you. Likes a dinner date with lights and everything. Might even play his guitar for you or put on a movie.
KAKUCHO
You don’t even need to ask Kaku to cook for you because he’ll want to do it the moment he falls in love. Anniversaries are where he’d prepare a whole candlelit dinner for the two of you. There’d be a full-course meal consisting of food you both enjoy.
Like Rindou, Kaku can be health-conscious (though I’d say Rindou is stricter on himself), and would want to make nutritious stuff for you. He’s got this double standard where he’s okay with eating really unhealthy food from time to time but doesn’t want you to do the same.
He’d be more prepared than the others. Kaku takes note of any allergies you may have, or ingredients that you love/hate. He knows how to deal with picky eaters too. If you hate some veggies because of their texture, then he’ll find a way to make them you-friendly.
MOCCHI
I headcanon that he goes to the gym with Rindou and Kaku and has traded recipes with them once in a while though Mocchi would eat anything from healthy to unhealthy, because he can “work it all off” anyway.
Mocchi’s a great cook. His dishes are more of the homey, hearty comfort food type. He learned to cook from his mom, so a lot of the stuff he makes were recipes learned from her. It’s also kind of a way for him to share his childhood with his loved one/s.
If you like corn like he does, then good for you! He’ll find a way to put corn in any and every dish he makes. For him, you just can never go wrong with corn. But if you don’t like corn, he’d be unable to comprehend that fact for a while before deciding to adjust his recipes for you.
MUCHO
Mucho would be great at desserts. He dreams to run a cafe someday, so he has learned to cook and bake and make coffee early on. In fact, I think he’d make you try a lot of these recipes before putting them on his future cafe menu.
He takes this all really seriously and it’s endearing. He asks for your constructive criticism after you try the food and makes sure to create a good ambiance where you’re eating too. To top it all off, he’ll even play some relaxing instrumentals in the background!
Each dish in the meal complements each other wonderfully. He selects the perfect side dishes to go with what, and the perfect drink and dessert to go with it all. It’s such a well-planned meal and you can tell he really put thought into it.
There is a soft smile on his face as he watches you enjoy the food. He’s a big Acts of Service guy, I just know it.

thinking a lot of about bonten! era kakucho and him being at a museum to stare at a painting and meeting reader who is a grad student in photography. they see this calm, stoic man with a scar across his face in front of a statue and they snap a photo. eventually reader goes up to him, and shows him.
the way the lighting is and the framing of the photo, there’s a specific longing. a yearning they capture. kakucho thanks them for the photo but he politely tells them to delete it from everywhere.
and they do. they respect his wishes.
every day on that same time when they met him he is there.
or alternatively they bump into one another and he picks up their things, the rest of the bonten members not noticing, but he does. he’s reserved and kind, but he also holds so many secrets within him. they think about him often; the scarred man, the one with sad eyes.

Hiii, I saw your self-ship ask event and omg, it's so cute! Anyway, I wanted to ramble about me and none other than Ran Haitani (doing so makes me really happy and warm) Thank you so much for doing this event :")
I'm allergic to showing the people I like/love that I like/love them. So this means I can be kinda "tsundere" in a way as a panic response when someone notices that I like them? It goes a little like this:
Person: "Aww, you did [favor] for me! Are you going soft for me?"
Me: "I only did it because I had nothing else to do." (lying)
You can already see how that'll go with Ran lmao. I feel like he'd just smile and say "If you say so~" because he can see right through me.
I'm the type to do something drastic when I get really angry. While me and Ran are both generally calm people, he's the calmer one of the two of us. I'm all rational and reasonable until I get angry which is why it's Ran who has to hold me back.
I don't know what to do with myself when someone shows romantic interest in me. If someone is trying to hint that they like me in that way, I will act like the most dense motherfucker ever. Giggling at the thought of Ran being entertained at first and then getting frustrated the longer it goes on.
I'm likely to write/make art about the people I love. (I may or may not have written poems and created concept playlists about Ran) That's one of my love languages along with Quality Time and Acts of Service, I guess. I never show the poems and artworks to my muses, though. I would die before I ever do that lol. I think Ran would have a knack for finding my work and knowing when it's about him. I'll never hear the end of it.
I'm down for just sitting in silence or napping together which I bet Ran would be very happy to do. I feel like we can both stop caring about being interesting when together alone and just exist.

But through it all, my god he's really genuinely grown so attached to you and he needs to find a way to fix stuff. He leaves a note in you bag the next time you see him, he leaves a note in his weirdly neat handwriting:

What’s it like having Rindou as your partner? Gender-neutral HCs
#2 Best Boyfriend Rindou. Dependable. Affectionate. Secret softie.
➼ Rindou lets you listen to all his mixes and always asks what you think. He’s always excited to share them with you. Be honest but also hype him up, would you? He values your opinion so much. If you happen to love something he made, he’d be so, so happy.
➼ He could remix your favorite song, maybe make an original mix inspired by music you like. Maybe you could work on something together if you’re a musician.
➼ When you’re sleeping together, he tends to roll over so that you’re under him and just stays there. So in the morning, you wake up to a whole Rindou on top of you. He’s warm though, and honestly I wouldn’t complain.
➼ Let’s say you’re the one who patches him up after he and Ran return from a fight. This guy would exaggerate his pain so you’d baby him more. (“Oh no, my poor baby! Where does it hurt?”) Either you fall for this act, or you know what he’s doing but choose to give him what he wants anyway. Ran would witness all this and just roll his eyes.
➼ Would talk your ears off if you’d let him. Rindou has A LOT of stories to tell and he’s always excited to share them with you. He’s the type of person that, while telling his stories, would stop in the middle and say “Wait, wait. Before that, this happened,” and it’s adorable! But he’ll soon notice that he’s been talking too much. He’d say a sheepish sorry and asks about your day. (Note: It’s adorable how he shared two stories on his CB3 profile)
➼ He may talk a lot about himself and his experiences, but he is NOT the type of person to just let you finish and bring the topic back to him. Conversations with Rindou are always fulfilling for the both of you. You’re also free to talk to him about whatever! He loves to hear you talk about your interests as well, and loves when he learns new things from you.
➼ He’d try to get into your interests so you’d have more stuff to talk about or do together. If you’re a reader, he’d ask for book recommendations (though I don’t really see him as someone who reads. If any of the Haitani brothers read, it would probably be Ran). He would pick it up and constantly update you on his progress.
➼ Expect A LOT of gifts on your birthday. A huge plushie? Yes. A cake or any dessert you like? Got it. A handwritten birthday letter? It’s there. A book, movie, or video game you’ve been wanting? Rindou remembered, and he got it for you. He never gives just one gift.
➼ When he tried to make you a birthday cake, it was so dry and the frosting was so sloppily done. Ran saw and tried to help but he somehow made it worse and it looked like it was about to fall over. So they called Kaku over for help. Kaku helped them turn the failed cake into a cake pop bouquet while Izana watched and ate frosting. Rindou still owes him one.
➼ Since TR is (mostly) set in the 2000s, I just thought of burned CDs! Rindou makes playlists for you and burns them onto CDs, which he would write little notes on. You do the same for him and he keeps all of them in his CD shelves to play whenever he misses you.
➼ Kiss him out of the blue! Maybe do it while he’s talking or focusing intensely on something he’s doing. Do it, because it always makes him smile and you get to see his dimples. (Imagine Rindou with dimples? Waaaaaa ang guwapo :”) ) He’ll give you a kiss or more back.
➼ At night, if you’re not together, he calls you before bed to talk about how your days went. If your day was pretty uneventful, Rindou just rambles on about how his meeting went, something Ran did, or other stuff he might want to share. He’d say “good night” and “I love you” before hanging up.
➼ If you’re interested in fitness, that’s another thing you and your boyfriend can bond over! He’ll assist you through difficult exercises. Have you seen partner workouts? You’d definitely do those together. And if you’re okay with it, you might even do those partner workouts where the couples... kiss 😳 (It ends in a makeout session)
➼ Once Ran likes you enough, Ran might ask Rindou to invite you over for dinner. Rindou is then subjected to the torture of his of his brother showing you all his baby pics and sharing embarrassing stories from when they were kids. Rindou wanted you to get along with Ran, but not like this :(

What’s it like having Ran as your partner? Gender-neutral HCs
Ran doesn’t fall so easily but when he does, you’ll have yourself a doting, caring partner who loves to pamper you.
➼ Ran would want you to look your best, and not only so you’d look good standing next to him! (lol) Because he loves you, he’d want you to feel confident in the way you look. He might take you to his regular salon, offer style advice, or even introduce you to a skincare or haircare routine if you don’t already have one. Before you go out into the streets together, he’d tell you how good you look and remind you to keep your chin up. After all, someone like you, who managed to steal his heart, should stand proud.
➼ I think he’ll be the type to wipe the corner of your mouth if you missed a stain on it, fix your hair if a strand is out of place, smooth down your clothes, fix your collar or tie if it’s askew, etc. (He definitely used to do this to Rindou)
➼ He thinks about you a lot so that when he finds an outfit from a magazine that would look great on you, or smells a perfume that screams “you” to him, he’d want to show you! All he needs is the slightest sign of approval–-maybe your face brightening up? Perhaps a small smile? Maybe you looked at it for more than ten seconds? Before you know it, he’s already bought it for you.
➼ Shopping with Ran, huh? This gives you the privilege of seeing him try on clothes! He’ll ask you what you think, or to pick out stuff you’d like to see him wearing. Of course, he’d want to buy clothes for you too. If you ever had the experience of your mom making you come back to the fitting room again and again because she found some great clothes for you, here it is again! Except it’s not your mom anymore but your partner.
➼ If you’re not well-off, Ran would spoil you to death. He’d want you to experience all the luxuries that he and his brother do. You get to have your dates at fancy fine-dining restaurants. You receive only the most expensive chocolates. Your wardrobe is slowly filling up with designer clothing. He would give you the world as long as you stay with him.
➼ Relaxing with Ran is always a treat. Imagine being pampered by Ran in his room: he is softly humming as he covers your face in an expensive mask. Him brushing or massaging oils into your hair. His touches are so gentle, and it makes you sleepy. All while doing these, a perfectly serene smile is on his face. (He rarely ever gets to do this on Rindou, so he is happy to have you.)
➼ There are days when you both just want to chill on their balcony wearing bathrobes, sipping wine (or any drink of your choice) out of fancy glasses. Your usual topics of conversation are celebrities, fashion, art, and maybe even philosophy! Ran is interested in hearing your opinions on different topics as well as sharing his own. If anyone tries to disturb your time together, they will face Ran’s wrath. His time with you is precious!
➼ Ran would be the #1 reason you’re late to anything because his bed is just so comfy, he’s so comfy, and honestly, how could you leave that pretty sleeping princess behind? If he wakes up to you leaving the bed, he will try to pull you back in. He’ll say “5 more minutes” while wrapping himself tighter around you.
➼ As his partner, you must laugh at his dad jokes. He loves puns, so come up with some of your own, won't you? Aside from dad jokes, his humor can be outdated. He’s the type of person who’d use a 2016 meme in 2020. Sometimes, you or Rindou need to explain certain memes or trends to him. It’s cute. He’s cute.
➼ To Rindou, you are a godsend. With you around, his brother is less of a killjoy (his words). He can party just a bit longer and be as loud with his friends as he wants. If he’s lucky, you manage to get his brother out of the house for maybe a night or two. It’s also fun for him to see his brother go so soft with you.
➼ Ran is anxious whenever you hang out with people he doesn't know. He would want to meet your friends, and if any of them feel off to him, he would tell you. (His intuition is pretty good, after all). He won't ask you to stop hanging out with them but will remind you to be cautious. It's not out of possessiveness but worry about your safety. Your boyfriend, after all, rules Roppongi. People are always out to exploit his weaknesses.
➼ If you somehow piss him off, you have to wait for him to come to you. If for example, you’re spending the night at their residence, you have to stay on the couch before he allows you back in his room. In the middle of the night, you might feel yourself being gently shaken awake by Ran (it’s a bit scary because his hair-covered face is the first thing you see) who wants to invite you back into his room. You’re forgiven.
➼ If he’s pissed you off, he’d also stay away for a while. Sooner or later, he’ll take out a cake or tub of ice cream with two spoons and sit with you so you can share it. If he sees you busy working on something, he’ll approach with a mug of a hot drink he prepared for you and a snack before sitting beside you. The apology comes after a long moment of silence, and things are okay again. Humbling himself and saying sorry was hard for him at first, but it got easier because he loves you.

➼ Ran stalks his crush’s social media profiles to find out what they’re into and of course, look at some cute photos of them too. He accidentally likes a post from four years ago and doesn’t even notice that he did. All he can think about is that one post they shared about (for example) how “long-haired guys are top tier” which got him smiling and blushing in his room.
➼ This guy would look for his crush’s MBTI or Zodiac sign, then research their compatibility with his personality type and sign. If they clash with his ISTJ-Gemini, he’d be disappointed but he’ll choose to ignore that. He doesn’t really take these seriously, anyway.
➼ Poor Ran tends to overanalyze everything they do and say. You know that line in The Louvre that goes, “I overthink your punctuation use”? That’s him. “Rindou, they put a period at the end of their sentence. They’ve never done that when texting me. What could that mean? Rindou?” They tell him something as simple as “Take care” and this guy is twirling his braids before proceeding to ask Rindou if that means they like him back. Uhh...
➼ Naturally remembers very specific things about his crush. “Oh, that shade of red. It’s the shade of red they wore last Wednesday.” It’s like they occupy his head 24/7. Probably sees someone tall and goes, “Oh, [Crush Nickname] would only reach up to that guy’s chest. How cute.”
➼ He purpsefully dresses in a way that he knows they like (he gets this info from their social media). Do they like it when men roll up their sleeves and open their collars ever-so-slightly? Dude’s going out looking exactly like that and he makes sure his crush sees it.
➼ If he ever gets asked why he likes his crush, he tries to be all poetic. “The sound of their voice is like the inside of a montblanc.” Then whoever’s asking him will just be like “...what?”
➼ Once in a relationship, he would have so many inside jokes with his S/O. It scares Rindou sometimes how they only need to take one look at each other to know what the other is thinking. He and his S/O just laugh out of nowhere after hearing a certain word and it confuses so many people.
➼ Ran and his S/O are often that couple found whispering and giggling in a corner, judging everybody. They also ditch parties together to hang out in Ran’s room. There, his S/O brushes his hair and does his skincare routine for him while Ran shares gossip with them. Ran knows where to get all the tea and shares it all with his S/O.
➼ If his S/O is an introvert, they need not worry! He’s got really good persuasive skills so if they want something from someone tricky, Ran would do all the smooth-talking for them. He’ll give them a wink and then go up there to work his magic. Also, if they’re out on a date, Ran would order for them. He’d even be the “Excuse me, they asked for no pickles” guy while his S/O hides behind him.
➼ Ran asks his S/O not to leave before he wakes up and it’s serious. He needs to hold them and give them a proper goodbye kiss and all that. It’s the only acceptable reason for anyone to wake him up. If he wakes up and sees them gone, he’ll feel emo like crap for the rest of the day. Sends them a dramatic “Why did you leave me” text and terrorizes Rindou : (
RINDOU
➼ When he has a crush, Ran and the other S62 know. (His crush already knows because Shion unintentionally spilled it lmao) Rindou has to beg them not to be so loud about it when they’re around. That means the entire group should not stop and stare whenever Rindou’s crush passes by (they do), no nudging, smirking and throat-clearing whenever he has to talk to them (they also do).
➼ He’s got many friends so some of them might “help” him out. You’ve got people asking you what you think about Rindou. Some people are obvious, some are better at hiding their intentions. Whatever his crush says will reach him (so if they like him back they better pile on the compliments lmao he would explode!). Or, these people might just tell his crush about how he’s sooo good at DJ’ing and how he’s sooo strong and fit because he frequents the gym and his crush would just be smiling like “Hehe, I know why you’re doing this.”
➼ Rin would often reply or comment on their posts. He's not replying to every single one but to a good number that his crush and others would start to notice him. They post a picture of their food and he'd say "Looks delicious. Enjoy your lunch!" Or when they post a selfie, he's the first to like. His crush would be the only one he does this to, because he's always being a shithead under his friends' posts (Shion).
➼ This simp always defends his crush no matter what. If he overhears or reads a negative conversation about them, those people will be hearing from him. ➼ Sometimes, Rindou lets them borrow his stuff, then he’d leave without that thing so that they’d have a reason to look for him [to return it]. It just works every time.
➼ As a boyfriend, he’s extremely supportive. Are they the sporty type? He attends all their matches. Rin gets so mad when a foul is committed against their team that it’s almost like part of the team himself. Are they a performer? He’s at every performance, makes sure he’s in a good seat. Do they do YouTube? He’s down there in the comments hyping them up. Their viewers know he’s their boyfriend.
➼ Let’s say the two of them decided to go on public transpo and they get on a bus that has no free seats so they have to stand. If they’re anything like me and they keep falling over, he’ll hold them steady with a firm arm around them. They get to hold on to his toned arm and smell his cologne.
➼ They have a collaborative Spotify playlist together and it’s the strangest mix. It’s got their music taste, his music taste, some video game OST songs, and meme music. Sometimes, they’d listen to the playlist while chilling on call and doing their own things.
➼ He’s sociable, so he’d be the type of boyfriend to gather their friends to prepare a surprise birthday party for them. He’d befriend their friends and they’d love him! He'll even walk their female friends home if they have no one else.
➼ If they play video games, he’ll gift them the skins they want because, hello, he’s got the money for that! They might also, from time time, play characters in games that are a couple (like Rakan and Xayah from League or Ada and Emil from IdV).
➼ They just need to say they’re having a bad day and he’s pulling up at their house with their favorite comfort food and a movie as soon as he’s able. I just think Rindou would be great to talk to your problems about? He mostly just listens and won’t give unsolicited advice. He’d offer to beat up the person who’s making his S/O sad though.

I like thinking about them as hopeless simps, honestly. But some do better than the others:
Kakucho
• someone tells him that his crush is around and this guy’s head whips around so fast to take a look
• gets self-conscious about the scar so he unconsciously hides his face
• brightens immediately if he gets to interact with them. grins like this with a little blush
• he’ll remember that conversation for the rest of the day until he goes to bed. it just replays over and over in his head and he can’t sleep.
• gets teased by Rindou and Mocchi about it. they’re probably the ones who push him to approach them.
chances of wooing his crush: 83%, he could if he tried!!
Rindou
• is probably already friends/acquaintances with his crush so he just goes to talk to them. no big deal.
• if they’re the quiet type, he’d try his best to include them in group conversations. always asking for their input.

• very helpful and attentive! he’s at their beck and call. knows exactly what they need and brings it to them.

Ran
• preens like a peacock. stands where the lighting is good and where the breeze blows just right for his hair to fly in the wind

pov: you’re everything izana ever wanted
What’s it like having Izana Kurokawa as your partner? Gender-neutral HCs.
Izana will fight his feelings for a while. Once he gives in, his love will be unshakeable.
➼ The other S-62 boys would notice Izana’s feelings for you before he even admits it to himself. With you, Izana was more forgiving, more willing to listen, and more protective. Whenever they’re off to a party, Izana would always ask who’d be there (he normally doesn’t care), and they’d just know he’s hoping to hear a certain someone’s name. ;) And whenever they all go out, Izana suggests they hang out at some spot near your home or school. Nobody questions it. They all just share knowing looks with each other. Even Mucho is smiling.
➼ Once, Kakucho visited Izana while he was in the middle of practicing a song on his guitar. On the table was a piece of paper with printed lyrics and chords to “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” by Queen. He could read your name, written in faded pencil at the very top of the page. Kaku pretended not to see it and never told the others either. Before he left, he said “Good luck,” to Izana.
➼ The first few times you touch him, he would freeze up. It’s not that he disliked the feeling, but it was new to him. Fix his hair, cup his face, hug him, intertwine your fingers, whatever it is, he will stand there dazed for a while as he tries to process what just happened. He swore that in that moment, angels sung and the sun shined on him and everything was suddenly beautiful. Now, you’re his human pillow and he’s your little spoon.
➼ One problem I see you encountering in this relationship is that he may expect you to dedicate all your time to him, especially in the honeymoon phase. Izana wants you around for everything. Every single gang meeting, you have to be there even when you’re not really needed. He won’t ask first if you’re busy, if you need some space, or if you’ve made some prior arrangements. If you’re absent a lot, he can overthink. “What is more important than spending time with me?” “Are they getting tired of me?” “Did they find someone else?” Talk it out with him.
➼ Being with Izana means you’re likely to be involved in Tenjiku’s activities. Like earlier said, you’re present at the meetings so you know all about their strategies. Sometimes, you’re in on them. You could be the gang’s nurse, you could provide them with a hideout, or you could be an informant. Whatever it is, you are an ally to the gang. Izana makes sure that you’re protected at all times.
➼ Being Izana’s partner makes you the “queen” or “prince” of Tenjiku. Anyone who disrespects you should be treated as less than dirt. The other Tenjiku boys are also kind of your subordinates and very often, they’re your bodyguards. If you get a sudden craving, one of the boys will be asked to buy it for you. If you wanted a member to wear a dress for twenty-four hours, he would need to do it. Try not to let the power get to your head, yeah? Use it for good.
➼ Hanging out with S-62 is so funny, because they’re not used to seeing Izana soft. They can’t even talk or laugh about it lest Izana hears. Izana’s usually the one getting things done for him, and now he’s buying you snacks and drinks, carrying your shopping bags, winning plushies for you, and tying your shoelaces? What have you done to their king?
➼ Izana hates seeing you cry. There will be hell to pay for the person who upset you. If he’s the one who caused it, he’ll ask you what he did wrong and how he can make it better. He’s willing to do better, just “Don’t leave.” He’s genuine about wanting to be better for you. It might take a while, but he will definitely improve as a boyfriend.
➼ Another problem you have with Izana is that he’s often the “devil on your shoulder”. Tell him about a problem you have and he’ll give you the worst chaotic advice ever. He always encourages you to wake up and choose violence. “Steal it.” “Kill him.” “Punch her.” “Tell me where he lives, I’ll do it.” Unless you want to play Bonnie & Clyde with him, you say, “Izana, no.”
➼ Izana would give you guitar lessons. Izana wouldn’t really care if you learn or not, but he’d be really happy if you do! He’ll proceed to teach you some easy songs then. If not, that’s okay, though he would pretend to be disappointed. The most important thing about your lessons is the time you spend together.
➼ Playing the guitar is one thing. Singing is another. He sings, but only when he’s alone and never for someone else. If you ever ask him to sing for you, you’ll see the rare shy Izana. “You want me to... sing?” He starts off hesitant, but grows more confident as he goes on and sees you smile encouragingly. Maybe some other time, he’ll actually play and sing that one song he’s been practicing for you. (Ahem, bullet two)
➼ Your boyfriend’s duality amazes you sometimes. You’ll see him tending to his fish and playing music for his plants. But you also watched him beat down an entire gang just hours ago. One moment, he’s talking about his plans to take everything away from Mikey, then he’s infodumping about fish the next.
➼ Occasionally, Izana would invite you to just sit with him at his rooftop. You don’t have to be doing anything or talking about anything. You’ll just sit there, pinkies touching, while you share his earphones. He loves to share his favorite songs with you.
➼ Takes you on a trip around the city on his motorbike, showing you his favorite spots. On some nights, he shows you the places where Shinichiro used to take him. (You hear about him a lot.) You two would often sample different street foods, and if something catches your attention while walking around, he’d buy it. Sometimes, he can’t afford them and it dampens his mood. He promises that someday, he’ll be able to buy you whatever you want.
[Also, just a little crack scenario I thought of: let's say you have a school project. Maybe a short film or video performance and you need people to play as characters, be your backup dancers, etc. Imagine the Tenjiku boys being forced to star in your little films whether they want to or not. 💀]

What’s it like having Mucho as your partner? Gender neutral HCs
Mucho shows his love in the things he does for you.
➼ Before you started dating, Mucho admired you quietly. Though usually stoic, he smiles a little whenever you’d talk to him. If you’re a lot shorter than him, he leans down a bit to listen to you. Sure, he stares too but not too long that anyone would notice. He offers to carry your stuff, give you rides, reach for stuff you’re too short to reach, etc. Whenever you thank him, he only nods in acknowledgement. No one was able to tell that he liked you until he actually confessed.
➼ When you do get into a relationship, other people may find him cold. They don’t see him being outwardly affectionate to you. But hey, he cooks for you, picks you up from school or work, takes care of you while also helping keep your place clean when you’re sick, and assists you with any stressful task you might have with a massage offer afterwards. That’s how you know he cares.
➼ Mucho is honest. You can come to him for comfort and advice, and you can count on him to tell it as it is! This guy won’t spare your feelings. He’d tell you if you’re being the problem. And when problems arise in your own relationship, he also communicates with you immediately and hears you out, so your problems never last long and thus, never build up into bigger, heavier problems.
➼ Mucho doesn’t need to tell the world that you’re together, but he would propose the idea of matching pendants or bracelets. Sometimes, people notice them, sometimes they don’t. It really doesn’t matter to him.
➼ Out on the streets, Mucho’s perfectly fine with just walking beside you but he wouldn’t refuse you if you wanted to hold his hand. Also, if you’re feeling nervous or scared, he’ll let you squeeze his hand. He may not be big on touching, sure, but he knows when you need a comforting hand.
➼ He actually smiles a lot around you. He won’t be grinning all the time, but there’s this perpetual half-smile he has that the people close to him start to notice. They see the happiness in his eyes. When talking to you, his face just softens and his tone is a bit gentler.
➼ “I love you’s” and kisses are rare. He tries to make you feel his love through actions and all, but those three words are reserved for special moments for fear that saying them too much might render them meaningless. Some times he’s said it to you: (1) after your first fight (2) while saying goodbye to you before the Tenjiku vs. Toman fight (3) the last phone call you had before he was allowed to leave juvie.
➼ From time to time, he likes to just sit down with you and do your hair. Mucho’s pretty skilled at braiding, and he weaves your hair into these intricate styles that make Ran envy you. Sometimes, he weaves little flowers into your hair as well. He smiles proudly at his work when he’s done.
➼ When texting, he responds with either one-word responses or complete sentences with no attempt to lengthen the conversation. You eventually learned that, well, that’s just how Mucho is. He says a lot more when you’re together in- person.
➼ Won’t let you fall asleep in an uncomfortable position. He’ll gently readjust you so nothing would hurt when you wake up. If you’re in a car or bus, he’d let you lean on him, then he’ll wrap an arm around you.
➼ Dreams of running his coffee shop with you in the future. He actually thought a lot about your future together. I feel like falling in love would make him want to leave gang life behind and start getting his life back on track. He thinks a lot about how your married life is going to be.
➼ Your relationship with Sanzu is a bit tense. The guy was possessive and protective of Mucho. Mucho has tried to get the two of you to be friends, and you did try but Sanzu wouldn’t return the same energy. (It’s like he sees you as an evil stepparent or something.) After some time, he warms up a bit but it took you so long to get there. Even then, you still don’t quite know what he’s really thinking.
➼ Would teach you how to play Shogi so you could play together instead of just watching his games with Sanzu. You’ve actually played against Sanzu once–who, by the way, got very competitive. You and Mucho play together too. Sometimes, you may or may not notice but Mucho intentionally prolongs the matches because he wants you to stay around a bit longer. Shh, that’s our secret.

Mocchi is truer to his name around you: soft and sweet.
➼ Mocchi’s okay with being your personal teddy bear–he loves it when you cling to him. He’s soft and warm; a great cuddle partner, okay? Let’s say the two of you are cuddling, and you fell asleep on him. It would seriously kill him to wake you up. So, like a cat owner whose cat just slept on them, he just stays very still thinking, “Yes. This is fine.”
➼ Mocchi’s super weak to your puppy eyes. Suddenly, the tough-guy image dissolves and he’s willing to give you whatever you want. Watch him struggle as he tries not to fall for it, only to fail. You just have that power over him. Forget Izana, you’re his boss.
➼ There’s this cliché of boyfriends choosing horror movies so their girlfriends would cling to them during the scary parts, right? With Mocchi, it’s... different. Your boyfriend hates horror movies. He’s okay with slashers, but NOT ones with ghosts, demons, curses, and other such things. The idea of an enemy that he can’t just beat up and be done with really scares him. So when you watch such movies, he won’t be cowering but you notice how your boyfriend’s gone completely silent, potato chip bag crumpled in his fist. Help him, he’s stressed.
➼ Mocchi gets really shy about giving compliments. See, he wants to tell you how stunning you look but the words would NOT come out and it’s almost funny how obvious it is that he’s struggling. He doesn’t want to just tell you that you look good, because “good” doesn’t even begin to summarize how amazing you look to him. After some stammering and stuttering, he’ll end up just saying “you look good,” wishing he was more poetic.
➼ Likes to goof off and joke around with you. Tell him all your jokes because I promise you: you will be satisfied by the response. He has this loud, wheezing laugh that’s so infectious, the joke would not even need to be that funny at all. Mocchi’s laugh is guaranteed to increase its funniness.
➼ Are your fingers freezing? No worries, Mocchi has big, warm hands. He’ll take your hands in his to warm them up. You could also cuddle closer to him for warmth and he’ll act like it doesn’t affect him but he is looking away and his ears are turning pink.
➼ Mocchi’s very loud. Sometimes, he’d call you and when you put your phone to your ear, you hear an ear-shattering “Oi, [Name]!! What’s up?” “Hey, Mocchi? Don’t...yell into the phone, please?” He’s so loud to the point that you worry if anyone around you could actually hear him. You have to tell him to tone it down and he will! He just forgets to when he’s excited to tell you something.
➼ Makes sure you know very little about his gang life as possible. If it were all up to him, you’d never know that he and his friends were in gangs. You’d never know he was part of this vicious S-62 generation. He just wants you to keep seeing him as your Mocchi. Ghost movie-hating, human teddy bear Mocchi who struggles with his compliments and gives you piggyback rides when your feet are hurting.
➼ He would teach you self-defense himself. While he tries his best to keep you away from his way of life as much as possible, you never know what’ll happen, right? It’s better to be prepared. So, he teaches you different ways to render a man unconscious (at this point, you’re better at it than Shion). Mocchi often goofs around but when he’s in Teacher mode, he’s completely serious. You best take these lessons seriously.
➼ Would die before telling you, but he was bored one day and started listing down possible names for your future children (or pets, if you don’t want children). When you find it and ask what the names are for, he snatches it and tries to bring up something else. You can clearly see that he’s turning red though.
➼ Once borrowed one of your hair ties, which he kept forgetting to return to you. It was never returned at all. When it’s not in use, he wears it on his arm sometimes--kind of like his lucky charm. He’s never without it. Even in juvie, he kept it with him and never once lost it. Is it a simple black band, a beaded one, a scrunchie? What this hair tie looks like, I leave up to you.
➼ Mocchi likes to pinch your cheeks. He’ll do it first thing when he sees you, or just out of the blue. Sometimes, he’ll do it when you’re angry which either sets you off even more, or you just find it so silly that all of your anger just evaporates. I suggest doing it back to him.
➼ You frequent this one restaurant. It’s not fancy, but he knows the staff and they know you two. You do go to other restaurants, but this one is special. It may not be the best—sometimes the ramen is quite bland, but this is your spot. Many stories, jokes, and sweet words were exchanged here. While he was in juvie, you would still come here from time to time. The staff, who are already his friends, are willing to talk to you if you need it.

some general s62 (+kakucho) headcanons for the soul
➼ Outside of gang matters, Ran is actually really nice to the average person! Most of all, he’s a great listener. He’s that person who holds eye contact, nods along, reacts accordingly to whatever you’re telling him, and always knows what to say. You always feel that he gets you. The things you say affect him. He cares. Since he’s a gang member and people tend to be wary of him, he adjusts his way of speaking and body language to make them feel more comfortable with him.
➼ After discovering his heritage, Izana sought the Filipino community in Tokyo. A group of Filipino moms and titas found him and they would dote on him whenever he would visit. They would feed him, call him handsome, teach him Tagalog, and tell him all about the Philippines. They’ve tried helping him find his mother, but he didn’t really have enough information on her. They wanted to adopt him but Izana was already getting into crime and gang business at the time. He turned down the offer and never returned. They still wonder where he went.
➼ Shion reacts to women the same way as Hakkai. Now, this guy talks big. He brags about getting all these girls to the others (they just don’t believe a word of it). In reality, he’s hopeless. All the stories are exaggerated or just straight-up fake. Sure, he’s got the looks and the bad boy image and some people like that, but he’s about as charming as an unwashed potato. They just end up thinking he’s weird or creepy (and let’s be real, being a delinquent further lowers his chances.) Usually, he ends up saying something embarrassing. Sometimes, he just freezes. So yes, basically, the way Shion Madarame fares in flghting is the same way he fares in the flirting game.
➼ Mochi’s weak for cute things. He might be this big brutish villain in the manga, but please also think of Mochi being the most gentle with kittens, puppies, and babies. Out of S62, he might just be the best with kids. Despite being a big scary delinquent, Moms in his neighborhood would have no problems entrusting their kids to Mochi. He makes them laugh, buys them lollipops, and carries them on his shoulders. Very big bro/dad material. He wouldn’t really tell anyone, but he has entertained the idea of having his own family someday. But with the life he leads, he understands–no, knows that he might not have it at all.
➼ Rindo went through this phase of only consuming the most obscure, unheard of media he could possibly find. (”I’m not like other delinquents”) It was something he took pride in. At age 14/15, he was at that phase in life where he wanted to reject anything mainstream. Probably looked down on people for not having heard of this one arthouse indie film he brought up. He never shared his interests with others either. Tried so hard not to like anything his brother liked as well (for a time, because their tastes grew to be pretty similar). He’s long grown out of it, but Ran would sometimes bring it up to make Rindo cringe.
➼ The “dad” of the gang is definitely Mucho. He’s always the one to remind others not to get too reckless or show off too much. “Less flashy displays, more fighting” (looking at you, Haitani brothers). He looks after everyone’s health too, telling them to eat healthy, drink water, and get enough sleep like a mother would. When the others are dealing with personal struggles, they can also count on him for sound advice. [S62 going to Mucho for advice, arranged from most to least frequent: Kakucho, Mochi, Shion, Ran, Rindou, Izana.] Kakucho and Mochi would ask for advice. Shion would never admit that he needs help but Mucho would know he needs it. Ran and Rindou would go to each other first, but would sometimes go to Mucho too. Izana only ever asked once.
➼ Kakucho is a reader. He used to read whatever he could get his hands on back at the orphanage—usually children’s books and newspapers. As he got older, he found a hobby in collecting secondhand books. He prefers realism over fantasy, though he has a soft spot for fantasy stories with kingdoms, knights and kings. Overall, he’s not very picky about what he reads. A book would have to be outrageously bad for him to drop it. Everyone who knows him well enough is aware of this interest, but something he won’t tell others about is his love for poetry. So you know, just a secret between us—I think he writes some of his own in his free time.
