I have nothing Valentines-y to post today

So instead y’all have to stare at my wives and appreciate them

And better post them all together to mark the end of this weird little project. Idk why I challenged myself to redesign all 6 main Naruto girls in 1 week, but I did it. Maybe because I wanted to test how I could exaggerate them, to explore a wider range of body types. And also for fashion. Can’t forget fashion.

I’m toying with the idea of drawing them as genin, to show how much a person can change in so little time, and the idea of drawing them as icky and awkward 12 year olds is fun to me. Even though, let’s be real, Temari was already a style icon at 13. I’m unsure for now.

Recently, I just added Rin Nohara as a muse on my naruto blog @musesofchaos, and I knew I had to design her for the verse where she manages to just barely survive her demise. Getting stabbed by your crush, even though it was your own choice, and nearly dying would understandably mess someone up. Despite the smiles and her still kind nature, Rin's view on the world has shifted because of the incident, not to mention the overwhelming guilt she feels for inflicting such pain on Kakashi. She's scared that he hates her, resents her. That's far beyond the truth, but she doesn't know that. So for most of this new arc I'm developing for her, she's keen on staying as far away from Konoha as possible. I wanted to symbolize that change through clothing that one at first may think that Rin wouldn't have gone for. Keeping some of the colour scheme of her old outfit to show that she still has those old parts of herself left. I also admittedly just wanted to go for something different from the other older fan designs I've seen to her, which in my opinion are a little boring? Of course no offense to those artist, but I feel like a lot of people just try to incorporate her genin design into her adult design and I wanted to bring something more unique to the table. Anyway, I hope ya like her! She was a joy to draw : )

Are their any little redesigns you would make for any of the characters appearances?

There is a small handful of things. Mostly things that don't affect much, small nitpicky things.

I'm a strong believer in Sakura staying taller than Naruto and Sasuke in their teen years to adulthood, and her having some scars to show her tough side a little more.

In the context of it being fishnet - I'd change Ino's arm guards and shorts back to bandages. It makes her a little more unique, since the fishnet/chainmail look is used quite often, but it's not something I really care if it changes. And Ino strikes as a girl that would swap armour for aesthetic.

Hinata's the last outfit 100% needs to change. It is way too skin tight and showy for her character. Also not making her a stick would be nice, since she looks a little bigger in the manga compared to other girls. Which is good! Diversity is what is needed with characters.

Some of the designs in the last and the boruto era are peeves for me, and a few others I'm sure. Kiba was done so dirty in both of them it isn't funny.

Giving Temari some pants or leggings when she has short as hell skirts would be nice too.

You know what would have been amazing? An official ATLA and Naruto crossover special.

Naruto and Aang comparing Air/Wind techniques, including Aang managing to do his own version of the Rasengan and Naruto trying (and failing) to learn the Air Scooter.

Sakura and Katara talking about being healers, training together, and going to the beauty salon together.

Gaara and Zuko bonding over similar pasts - terrible fathers who tried to kill them, overcoming their own hate and embracing love, and becoming the leader their nations desperately needed.

Tenten and Sokka comparing weapons, Sokka teaching Tenten how to use a boomerang, Tenten summoning a whole meal from a scroll and Sokka losing his damn mind.

Hinata and Toph testing the Byakugan against Toph's seismic sense.

Temari and Suki trying out each other's fans and getting ideas for redesigning their own.

Rock Lee vs Ty Lee.

Y'all this would have been the crossover event of the century and I'm sad it didn't happen.
