Emma Myers on Tyler "PEOPLE DON'T UNDERSTAND TYLER. HE WAS FORCED TO DO THE THINGS HE DID."
Guys I don’t know what else to say. She is a queen. She is my queen. Team Tyler, it’s time to rejoice and to crown Emma, Queen of Team Tyler’s apologists and non-apologists because he didn’t do anything wrong.
End of story.

Why Tyler is perfect for Wednesday and not another character from the TV show.
I love the friendship between Enid and Wednesday, and while I fully believe that Enid is bisexual or pansexual, I don't see any romantic relationship between them. Enid is too bright, warm, and full of light. That's what makes us love her—her radiance and that big smile. It works well in a friendship with the darkness, coldness, and blackness of Wednesday. But in a romantic relationship, one of them would have to compromise because they are polar opposites that don't complement each other in that way. Either Enid would have to darken or Wednesday would have to lighten up, and that would change their personalities. As friends, they can have a supportive and sisterly relationship. Enid will make Wednesday see the gray areas, and Wednesday will set limits on Enid's fantasies, but only as friends.
Now, regarding Xavier (setting aside the actor's issues, which I won't get into because, well, no. We're talking about Xavier, not Percy). Xavier idealizes Wednesday, idealizes a memory (a memory that has two versions: his and Wednesday's). I feel that Xavier is the type of man who falls in love with a free-spirited woman with strong opinions, someone who won't stay silent in the face of injustice. But when he's in a relationship with that girl, he needs to diminish her. He can't handle her freedom, her opinions, her refusal to be silenced, and the same will happen with Wednesday. The problem is that unlike other girls, she won't play the submissive role that Xavier seeks, and he won't tolerate that. Xavier doesn't accept "no." He throws tantrums, just like when Wednesday refused to join his elite group. Furthermore, Xavier is in a very white area, tainted with grays but still very white, which doesn't adapt well to her dark gray area. He won't be able to handle her darkness and her morbid tastes.
On the contrary, Tyler stands in a dark gray area, touching the black but not quite reaching it. Tyler accepts Wednesday's morbidity, her lack of understanding of emotions, and he has his own darkness to add. He understands her to a certain extent and challenges her. He challenges her intelligence and emotions. He plays mind games that obsess Wednesday. He managed to attract her with his role as the typical white estadounidense boy (Sorry, folks from the USA, you're not the only Americans), but let's be honest, what truly enamored Wednesday was that dark side he let her glimpse.
The number one thing I want to see in S2 is some form of redemption for Tyler, but honestly it’s not even redemption because he did nothing wrong. I just hope that Netflix doesn’t decide to make Tyler a villain, because that would be unforgivable.
Anyways.
Reasons Why Tyler Needs Justice:
Tyler was clearly sexually assaulted by Gates/Thornhill. That whole scene where she was like “tyler kill her for mama” while caressing him and stroking his chest….. tf?? You can’t seriously say that he did that voluntarily, especially since he’s underage and she held a position of power over him.
Again, the whole thing about Hydes being forced to do whatever their master says. That whole police station sequence could’ve been involuntary, especially since when you see him turn away he’s crying. Tyler was pretty much Laurel’s slave, and she probably ordered him to do all that.
Honestly, I think that Netflix would lose more views by painting a victim of sexual assault as an antagonist than giving Tyler a redemption arc. Saying anything along the lines of “but tyler liked being with laurel!!” is absolutely horrendous, since it’s been clear that Laurel was terrible to him (may i call to attention this:)
I dare those writers to look me in the eyes after that and say that he enjoyed being with Laurel. Fight me.
How I sleep, knowing the writers gave us explicit scenes showing that Tyler did not enjoy his interactions with Laurel, and had Wednesday herself give a whole speech about him being manipulated:
