With the rerun of the Flare event today, I was just rewatching their chapters again. I know they probably never will directly acknowledge this moment, but it would be interesting to have see Sycamore's reaction if he ever found out about Lysandre literally executing those two Grunts.
(And honestly, even before he offed those two, I had a headcanon he already had a body count, going what he had planned to do back in Kalos, the secret police traits his team has--like, it wouldn't surprise me if they "disappeared" a few people on the side, or if a few of these disappearances could be directly tied back to him--, and him implying he'd kill the Pasio player in his initial Sync Pair Story, getting a line like "You're a symbol of hope, but you're also equally a symbol of despair. The brighter that light of hope shines, the greater the despair when it fades to nothing, no?" There's also him stalking a Break grunt thru fog Volcanion created, and his disappointment when the grunt gets bad vibes and runs away. Dude was hoping he'd would push his luck just like those Rockets did.)
