Color! Composition still wonky, but this was done mainly to see how I liked the colors and such. I can reposition and resize birds/leaves/etc another time. And get a decent proper hexagon drawn up.

This has been an exercise in not letting perfection hold me back. I have to start getting back into art somehow, right?

Passing on advice I received growing up as someone who grew up around alternative adults of several flavors and heavily tattooed folks with "job killer" tattoos (and was raised by one such person!) that I have had to put into practice as someone who is alternative themself now:

If you are a young alternative person, it cannot be understated how important having a couple "normie" pieces of clothes in your closet "just in case" is.

Sometimes you will have a job interview, a doctor's appointment, a housing application, or some other kind of obligation where for your own safety and security you need to tone yourself down for a brief period of time.

It's not fair. It's bullshit. But sometimes you have to eat your vegetables you know? And it's a cost benefit analysis and it depends on the things you personally prioritize in your own life, but sometimes minor sacrifices have to be made in order to keep yourself safe and get yourself things you need to do so.

In the second chapter there’s the moment where Law gets his first tattoo, being the « DEATH » one on his hands.

At first everybody think that it’s something edgy cause he’s kind of a loser yk especially during pre time skip BUT I think that the real signification behind is so nice.

Still massively burned out and not exactly using my time wisely outside of going to work and keeping the plants and fish alive… but I roused from my art blocked stupor briefly to slap some color on this. I forgot how trees and leaves work, and composition, so that will come later. (Also can’t draw hexagons but that’s true for most people)

Forgot to share this back when I got it last month, but I finally got back in contact with a childhood best friend of mine who now owns a tattoo shop!

I requested a custom ghostly corvid from her and we did the whole thing in one sitting. :D This is from the end of that session so it's pretty red and super bruised around some of the edges

Its expensive, but I think I might just buy a new copy of elden ring since I can't see myself repairing or replacing my xbox any time in the near future
