My fanfic of my f/o Hori <3

I wrote it bc of an idea I had like:

What if my self-insert only spoke English and my f/o Japanese? (the otome's original language is Japanese so-)

Nero (self -insert) somehow ends up in another world next to a fire station as a different person before realizing that only a few also speak English. If only he invested more time in learning Japanese...Especially when one person he finds interesting can't speak English.

Hori was in the end with his calmness in his office. Muto had yet another fight with Matsui.

For the third time this week.

And it was only Monday.

"Muto Takaki and Matsui Senga. That's enough!" Hori's voice started to rise. "You two are constantly arguing over little things! Now, I wouldn't have interfered in your rivalry, but it disrupts your work quality, so I have to have this little talk in private here."

"I'm sorry, but-"

"No"

Hori's angry voice snapped at Muto.

"It's been going on for years. I tried everything to get you two to stop fighting. Placing you two in separate teams,and attempts to conduct some team building exercises resulted into nothing. Why Can't you simply just get out of each other's paths?" hissed Hori, his eyes squinting.

He's so livid at these two. At first he just thought they both rubbed each other the wrong way, but after hearing their backstory about a year ago, he can't help but feel at least a tiny bit sorry for both of them. The loss of Matsui's sister, who was also Muto's girlfriend, must have been mentally painful. Muto was still sure that the alleged murderer was responsible, even after Matsui defended him after all the evidence disproved him. That's where the hate began. Muto was pissed at Matsui, thinking he let the murderer get away.

Hori took a deep breath, trying to calm his nerves.

He's the commander of his firefighter group, he can't just let his anger out on his subordinates.

But just as Muto was just about to speak, the office door opened, revealing a middle-aged blue-haired man with a certain black oversized hoodie,which belonged to someone Hori knew.

"Oh, S-sorry. Am I interrupting something?" asked the blue-haired one.

"Ye-" "No, it's fine, Nero. Is there anything you want to know?" Muto got cut off by Hori.

Both men stared, surprised, back and forth between Hori and the other guy.

"What. Since when has Hori's voice gotten so soft?" muttered Muto, wide-eyed.

"That's a surprising side of Hori," commented Matsui.

"Should we go out to that one new restaurant, or should I cook spaghetti tonight for us?" said Nero.

"I would say that we go to the new restaurant. I read it is not that expensive there," suggested Hori, smiling softly.

"Alright! Just wanted to know! See you later! Love you!"

"Alright, love you too."

The door closed as Nero disappeared, leaving Muto and Matsui's mouths open in shock.

No one in the entire Fire station knew that Hori was in a relationship or that he was gay.

Hori was still looking at the door

Oh, how much he adored him.

He immediately recognized his cuddly hoodie on Nero. He often "stole" his clothes because he loved oversized hoodies so much.

and his smile…

It could make him melt so many times.

The long cuddles on the couch with little kisses in between as they were watching Youtube.

He adored it all.

And how excited he got when he rumbled about topics he's passionate about.

"Uhm, can we continue?"

Muto's question broke Hori out of his daydream.

Right, he has to deal with them before he can return to Nero.

"Right." Hori coughed for a short time, while his soft smile disappeared, and his strict voice came back again. "As I said, I expect better from you two. Note that next time, you won't get away that easily. You can go."

Hori gestured for the both of them to get out.

"Understood. We're sorry," said Matsui, as Muto also apologized, and both disappeared through the office door.

Hori sighed and sat down on his office chair. As his eyes wandered to the right, he saw a photo of him and Nero cuddling with their cat, Lulu. He remembers that the photo was taken one day after their wedding, when they were invited for a free photoshoot in a famous photo studio.

Unknown to him, he smiled again as he thought back to the moment they kissed at their wedding. He clearly remembered his soft lips and the baby blue eyes sparkling as they stood opposite each other.

Bringing him back to reality, he shook his computer mouse to check the time.

5.00 p.m.

Hori quickly shut his computer down and gathered his things to leave the office as he sighed happily.

Nero must already be waiting for him.

and he can't wait to kiss him.
