Finally I'm doing this tag game! Thanks @insilanar and @c2-eh for the tag 💕
1. Are you named after anyone? My parents says no, but my name isn´t that common here in Portugal, so idk. The funny thing is I know why they chose my middle name. It was chosen by the aunts of my father (that I always treated like my grandparents) and it was the name of a person they worked for. Actually, they wanted my parents to name me after that person, but my mother didn't like the name, so she chose Diana and put the other name as my middle name. I already asked her if she chose Diana because of the princess, but she always says no 🤷♀️
2. When was the last time you cried? I'm a very emotional person. I tear up with everything. I CRIED WATCHING ICE AGE 1. I don't remember the last time I cried sobbing and everything, but just crying I think it was when I watched ep 3 of The Last of Us (I cried more on this episode than all the others).
3. Do you have kids? No.
4. Do you use sarcasm a lot? A bit yes, but only with people I'm comfortable. And I find it easier doing it in Portuguese. I also used to write a blog (in Portuguese) and used it a lot. Sometimes I feel I've lost that ability. Have to start writing again to see.
5. What sports do you play/have played? Nothing 😂 I mean, I played sports in school. I had a mandatory subject called Physical Education. We played football, basketball, handball, voleyball, badminton... I was very bad at everything 🥲 (badminton I wasn't so bad). I loved when we had some step classes. When I finished school, I did pilates, but I think it isn't considered a sport ahahah Now I basically walk a lot.
6. What's the first thing you notice about other people? Oh, I have to think a bit. Accessories (glasses (it's not an accessory, bur oh well), rings, necklaces, earrings...) I think. Don't know why but... Also hands, hands and teeth.
7. Scary movies or happy endings? Happy endings. I really don´t like scary movies.
8. Any special talents? Hmmm, I don't think I have any. Crying watching Ice Age 1? 😂
9. Where were you born? Portugal.
10. What are your hobbies? Tumblr 😂, reading, writing (a bit on hiatus), watching things (youtube videos, tv shows, movies, f1...), be with family and friends...
11. Do you have any pets? No, but my sister has 2 cute cats 😊
12. How tall are you? 1.61m.
13. Fave subjects in school? Biology, Music (unfortunately only had 2 years), Portuguese, Arts.
14. Dream Job? I think I'm still trying to find it. Changed jobs to one I could write, but I'm still not totally happy. (I work as a copywriter. I think it's all the advertising thing that is making me meh 😒).
15. Eye colour? Brown (almost black).

Getting tired of the "GRRM writes incest as a total negative" vs "GRRM is a little freak who wrote asoiaf around his incest kink" discourse... not to be democristiana on main but both things can be true! He can use incest to make a larger thematic point about these dynasties self cannibalizing to retain their power/identity while also using it to make the story sexier (I always point at how different the ultimately consensual, while still dysfunctional, targcest or j/c are written vs the abject horror of Craster's keep). He can make anti war points while also being blatantly fascinated by the spectacle of (magnified) medieval warfare with a side of dragons. He so obviously revels in making up family trees and sigils and OTT castles and whatnot but I struggle to see a message of Feudalism Is Good, Actually in asoiaf.
I guess we wouldn't be having all of these tiring discussions about whether he is endorsing [whatever problematique element is recurring in asoiaf] if he strictly stuck to his intended Message regardless of what he personally finds fun, hot or simply dramatically engaging, but let's be honest, we probably wouldn't be reading asoiaf if it was a straight up moral pamphlet, even though some people act like they wish it was.
Asoiaf is more than pulp fiction; asoiaf is ALSO pulp fiction. I think analyzing it while ignoring either side makes it less interesting and diminishes the experience! But that's just me. Do whatever, this is a tumblr post not a cop

I am rewatching Malcolm in the Middle and i wanted to gush a little about its production design because I would seriously put it in Mad Men’s bracket of insane attention to detail, except that instead of getting a historical period right this is about communicating the class of Malcolm’s family. The furniture is mismatched and visibly lived in, their appliances (like the washing machine Lois wants to change) seem to mostly date to when they moved in (likely Francis’ birth), the lawn is a legendary mess. There’s a cold open in one of the later seasons where Lois scrubs a new stain off the floor only to realize this created a clear spot in the now uniformly greyed carpeting. A lesser sitcom would have created a gag where the mom character goes “whelp I guess now I have to clean it all 🙄”. But at this point we know Lois, we know she’s running a household with three unruly teenage and preteen sons and a baby, and she has a job outside the home too, so she does the sensible thing: she picks a handful of dirt off a flower pot and smudges it into the carpet. Clear spot gone. Idk, it’s such a neat little moment, and such a clever use of the set to facilitate showing who this character is.

Hello! This is mildly tough because I'm not sure what you've read or are into, if you want something longer, shorter, newer, older, canon, AU, etc. etc., so I'm gonna go with newer, plus an older one, and if that doesn't fit the bill, come on back! Most of what I love is really short, for one, because I love short shorts, and for two, because I don't have a ton of time, so super long fic is a tougher sell (any fandom), but I have a few long 'uns here! Enjoy this mixed bag!
First of all, start with the fics in the recent wankfest, all of which are here...multiple pairings, all of them short-ish, all of them ridiculously hot, I won't even split out my faves, 2 many 2 good. I also did a list last month with some recent ones I've read/loved, so check those out, too! Here are ones I've bookmarked around those two lists:
To Crave Your Touch, @haztobegood, 677 words. This entire SERIES, god, I love the subscription feature on ao3 [clenches fist] so much, I vote for all the rest of it, too.

The Earl and His Duke, QuickedWeen/ @becomeawendybird, 52k. Long-time readers/first-time callers are aware that I'm not the biggest historical AU fan, but this feels like a Jane Austen-adjacent fic, and I *am* a fan of hers, this one's a win!
Among Lavender Fields, @homosociallyyours, 70k. Megan's notes say that some photos I sent helped with inspiration, and I am...not remembering that, but I'll take it! This fic feels like a movie!!!!
You were a beam of light, lit up my broken sky, CuckooTrooke/ @larrydoinglaundry, 84k. This author just wrote an incredible lactation kink chapter in a different fic, so already, they're AIMH, but this one! INCREDIBLE doesn't even cover it, one of my fave's of the year for sure.
Of Mates and Men, bananaheathen, 231k. This one's a wip, but don't let that or the word count scare you! The author updates every two weeks or so, a lovely 10k gift that has been building over time. The softest, coziest sweater--the fluff! The build up! The warmth!
...finally, this one's an old one, but having listened to Liam's CEO podcast, I can't stop thinking about it (one of the best authors, too, if you want to just read everything else they've written). Won't Get to Space Because I Haven't Got a Rocket, sunsetmog, is from 2013, and it imagines what might have happened if Liam didn't make X Factor and went back to Wolverhampton to be a mechanic. But much like Windsong, he stayed on two people's minds, if you catch my drift. Anyway, present-day Liam talked a bit about his sliding doors/what could have been situation on that podcast, and all I see is this fic (even though I HIGHLY DOUBT it woulda gone down like this, just much 2 think about, ya feel?)

What's one character per season that everyone loves but you hate?
Oof, anon, are you trying to get me in trouble? Haha, okay, let’s see... just to clarify, I don’t necessarily hate these characters. They’re characters that most people love that I either dislike or feel meh about.
Season One -- Kenny
To be fair, this Kenny isn’t as bad as s2 Kenny, but I’m pretty meh about him compared to pretty much everyone else, y’know? It also depends on what route I’m taking when I replay S1. If I’m actively trying to be Kenny’s pal, then he’s chill and a lot more tolerable to be around. If I’m not Kenny’s pal, then he’s annoying and super not chill.
He has a compelling story of an everyday family man who loses everything he swears to protect and it breaks it, and it’s done well, I guess I’m just not as attached to him. I never really was.
400 Days -- Nate
This one is a little weird? We don’t talk about 400 Days all that much, but whenever I go to the tag, I see a lot of Nate aaaaaaand.... meh? I don’t like Nate. Yeah, he’s kind of funny? In that “I’m probably gonna giggle real good before I murder you” way?
It’s interesting to me that Nate seems to be everyone’s, eh, “problematic fave” from 400 Days, something I’ve covered in the past. I don’t really get it myself, but hey, if you like this crazy bastard then more power to you.
Season Two -- Kenny
It’s risky putting Kenny on this list twice, isn’t it? Aw well... Okay, while s1 Kenny isn’t my favorite, I like him much more than this Kenny. And yeah, I know, this Kenny is so tragic and broke and such a fascinating character to study.... and I don’t like him. I don’t want him anywhere near Clementine and AJ. I don’t see walking into the woods with him as a happy ending. He’s definitely one of my least favorite characters in s2.
Sure, he has some very humanizing moments and he’s a good character-- I won’t deny that, but I’m also not going to pretend that I love him because I don’t. If you’re a Kenny stan and will follow your mustache god to the ends of the earth, cool. I get it, you do you. I’ll just be over here daydreaming about a better s2 where they embraced Kenny as an antagonist and where Luke didn’t get abducted by aliens.
A New Frontier -- Uhhhh....?
I’m trying to think of a character that everyone loves but I don’t here and... I can’t think of one? I guess maybe Clementine could count? But I don’t dislike ANF Clementine, she’s just my least favorite of the four Clementines, y’know? She’s still a good character that I love, so I don’t think she counts.
Maybe Kate? I know a lot of people outside of tumblr really like her and her romance with Javi, but I don’t know if she’s actually widely loved.
Yeah, I might not have one here. I love all of the characters that get the most loved. Now if this were a “Who do you love but everyone hates?” question, then I might have an answer for you. But it’s not, so I don’t.
Michonne -- ?? Don’t really have one?
I think a lot of people sleep on Michonne so I don’t know who’s hated and loved. Plus, the only characters I find annoying or don’t like are Randall and Norma. Everyone else I’m pretty chill with. Sam can get a little annoying but she grows on ya. But yeah...
The Final Season -- Minerva
Yeah, I know. Everyone loves Minerva and I’m just over here being a dingus like “Minnie make CJ mad” all salty like. But the thing about Minerva for me is this-- I don’t hate Minerva by herself. As a character, she’s interesting and I like how she’s portrayed. I empathize with her situation and it hurts to hear that the delta forced her to murder her own sister. I wish she didn’t get taken by the delta
Also, the bridge scene? Super good.
No, my problem is how she’s used within the story to fuck up Violet’s character/arc. I’ve said this plenty of times, so sorry for being a broken record, but Minerva ruins a lot of Violet’s story for me and I still side-eye the writers for making this dumb choice. I just... why? Why? It could’ve been done super well and it just wasn’t and I’m not okay with that.
Ugh.
But yeah, a lot of people love Minerva and I don’t. Sorry about that.

A few loosely connected thoughts about ship wars, fandom purity culture, antis, etc. Apologies for the awkward attempt at nested bullets.
Almost everyone has natural selectivity where they remember bad things said about the stuff they like more than bad stuff said about stuff they don’t like, interpret it as harsher, etc.
Once you’ve received even one actual hate message, gotten harassed even one time, this bias to interpret someone mentioning that they dislike your fave as an ATTACK intensifies.
Ships and characters that get a lot of hate, that become Acceptable Targets(TM) are almost always also REALLY POPULAR - sometimes (often?) the most popular ship by numbers. I think, in combination with the fact that we all make judgements without full context (most people don’t actually publish the anon hate they get, and if you don’t follow someone you don’t necessarily know how they got harassed for X opinion a while back and Y seemingly innocuous comment is or seems like a renewal of that harrassment) this can lead to non shippers-of-the-thing-or-likers-of-the-character thinking that the shippers or stans just have a persecution complex. “Not everybody has to cater to you, I’m allowed to not like things, yeesh don’t take everything so personally” goes the thought. This overlooks how vastly unpleasant it is to be the Acceptable Target for nasty comments even if you have a lot of friends in the boat with you.
Something feeling like an ATTACK is not necessarily about the intensity with which dislike is expressed, but the WAY dislike is expressed. It can be hard to express why a particular statement felt like it stepped over a line, further giving the impression of overreaction.
> An example: the first time I saw the “Gay Ship for Gay People vs Gay Ship for Straight People” meme it fucked me up, and I’m still probably not going to do a great job of articulating all the reasons, but here goes:
> > First, the particular meme I saw was one where some people clearly meant it as friendly teasing, some people clearly didn’t, and others were somewhere in between. The cumulative effect was the sensation of my middle school bullies going “haha you’re a loser, just kidding, but not really, why aren’t you laughing about my funny joke about what a fucking loser you are?”
> > Fandom is overwhelmingly queer and the bits that ship same sex pairings more so. As far as I can tell there aren’t any “gay ships for straight people”. The ship I first saw this about you can tell is mostly queer with the briefest of glances around tumblr. It’s hard for me to express why this matters, when the inaccuracy isn’t the point - I think it would be a shitty meme even if a same sex ship did have a higher proportion of straight shippers than queer, but I do still feel like it matters that mostly they don’t.

Okay, done with the example, sorry that took so long. Where the fuck was I. Oh right, onto: Tumblr Infrastructure Makes Things Worse, Verse 700. One of the ways people try to get along despite differences of opinion is delineation of spaces. Tumblr deliberately fucks with this (in order to provide other things, but still):

And of course everyone’s more likely to take it personally when it’s their fave and more likely to roll their eyes and say “people are allowed to dislike things on their own blog” when it’s something they dislike too and also more likely to take “X character is scum” as a neutral opinion statement if that’s the General Assessment vs. an inflammatory remark if it’s not and everything is a mess.

okay, tbh, it's more of an Ed Westwick problem than a chuck one. I don't know how you guys have reacted to the me too and time's up movements, but mine has been to cut all those men out of my sphere of entertainment, I even cut out "witch hunt", "not all men" type dudes, and "only fondled their breasts on tv and apologized for it" men (aka Ben Affleck), because time is up for all of you! Soz, not point, but since last October, Ed Westwick has been caught up in this, and thus far 3 women have accused him of ra.pe and a fourth of sexual misconduct. Now, I know it's not Chuck's fault that his portrayer is a ra.pist (allegedly), but there is still an issue with including his face, etc in aesthetics and gossip girl material because his face is that of a ra.pist's (allegedly). Tbh, I wanna leave him (Ed Westwick) out of material and only discuss Chuck and avoid showing his face or use a dreamcast instead, but like, I dunno what you guys wanna do. Chuck is a great character, although, early on, he was quite rap.ey, the character, and it does not help that his portrayer has since been revealed to be a ra.pist. Allegedly.
- also, going back up to the redundancy issues, I love both of your aesthetic collections and playlists, so for those, I was thinking for playlist, we should make one big playlist on spotify that's collaborative, so that everyone can add their music and it'll kind of be a huge explosion of musical tastes. But also, maybe have a collection that has a link on the group info for individual playlists for characters, and the group made by us and/or others. For aesthetic collections, basically the same idea with one big collaborative collection, and then that collection will have links to other collections (yes, I'm a little ocd).
- also, also, this is completely unrelated, but I was watching trevor noah's show and he made a joke about how much trump's male employees snitch and gossip like sht, but the woman haven't revealed squat. Another Update (I'll leave those up until @maybones weighs in on them)
I was working on a draft of the group description to show you guys, and I was using a template of one of my old groups and rewriting stuff and changing it to suit our purposes and I realized how many freaking rules I have (I'm so picky), anyway, some of this stuff obvs won't be applicable (like, there's one about characters dying and I don't think we were planning on going that dark. although, serena was an accessory and chuck kind of killed his dad, so meh, maybe?) anyway, I wanted your opinions on what rules to keep and/or change:
✠ RULES AND GUIDELINES {GENERAL} ✠
I. Please be kind to each other. Your characters can be total jerks, but let us, the creators and/or writers be kind, polite, and respectful (aka, channel your inner Canadian guys). There will be absolutely ZERO tolerance of discrimination. You will be immediately removed from the group, and your actions will be documented and reported. PM me immediately if someone harasses you or you notice harassment between members.
⠀⠀Ia. If you want to be anonymous, for any reason, you can send in your complaints here {https://goo.gl/kbTXeU}, it's a google form, and it doesn't ask you verify your email, and the username option, is just an option, it's not required. If I need to make further contact/information from you regarding your concern, I'll make a group announcement vaguely describing your issue, and you can send in further information anonymously again. I'll be checking the form at least once a week.
⠀II. I'm not giving this any specific rating, however, I will say, you're free to include whatever "adult" content you want, whether it be swears, gore, or the dirty stuff (I'm totally a mature, grown up adult guys). However, do be careful of polyvore's stupid censors, use workarounds like writing your story in google docs, or accents for swear words.
⠀III. This is a non-elimination group, but characters can die. It may be used for inactive members, or if you wanna kill 'em off or maybe revive as a ghost or something else. Permission will always be asked of the creator first (with the exception of characters belonging to inactive members, whose characters may be killed off as penalty).
⠀IV. If you miss 3 consecutive contests (without informing me), you'll receive an "x", "|" will be used to break up non-consecutively missed contests, anyway, if you miss 3 in a row, that will open your character to be killed by either myself or other group members. You will be notified, but your permission will not be asked. If you wish to rejoin at a later date, and you character has not been killed off, simply pm me and continue with whatever contest is in progress. If your character has been killed off, you can re-audition with a new one, and I will transfer your points to your new character.
⠀V. Always pm me, your vodka aunt mod, if you feel you'll be unable to enter a contest, your reason doesn't matter. Just let me know you can't get your entry in, that way you won't receive an "X".
⠀VI. Plotting will be left open throughout the group, however, please establish a few of these before contests begin, and always ask permission when using someone else's character(s) and be sure to tag them in your sets. Please, PLEASE work with others, I hate when people just do their own thing in oc battle groups, this is a collaborative story, everyone's stories and ideas matter. I will call you out if I notice something that contradicts the connected story, and I will always, ALWAYS incorporate the stories of group members into the overall narrative.
⠀⠀VIa. Narrative precedence will always be given to the person who completely finishes the description of their set first.
⠀VII. There is not a list of roles to pick from, you can create whatever roles you want, however, I may ask you to change it if I feel your character may become "villager number 6" and not fit in with the action. Rules, regulations, and suggestions for roles can be found here: [placeholder].
⠀VIII. Always be sure to tag the member's when you use their characters and give credit where credit is due.
⠀IX. Plagiarism will not be tolerated and you will be removed and reported. If you're inspired by someone else's work, credit them, otherwise you're stealing.

✠ RULES AND REGULATIONS {FACECLAIMS} ✠
I'm quite picky about these, but I'm not gonna be pedantic about it this time. You do you. Having said that, there are still some rules and regulations, as well as a challenge.
⠀I. All faceclaims must be above the age of majority (that's 18+ nearly universally on the planet), there is an exception for child characters but all main OCs must be at least 18.
⠀II. All faceclaims MUST be professionals. They can be actors, models, even singers. However, they must be singers of some note signed onto a label company, like Taylor Swift, or my beloved Dima Bilan (who's also an actor. a good one. yes, I'm bragging). Your faceclaim CANNOT be someone insta-famous, youtubers, or tumblr tweens.
⠀III. Whilst I'm not going to reject any faceclaim on the pedantic basis of "I don't like them", there are some faceclaims that I will and for one reason, and one reason only. Sexual misconduct of any and all kinds. Hollywood and the media are finally cleaning house, and I don't want those dicks in my nerd sht either. To be clear, I don't care whether the misconduct was simply groping a woman's breasts on camera and apologizing about 10 years later, I am going to reject everyone who's been accused. Examples include; Ben Affleck, Casey Affleck, Ed Westwick, Jeffrey Tambor, Danny Masterson, Andy Dick, Dustin Hoffman, and fcking Mel Gibson. (Side note, these are just actors, for a wider list of men who have fallen since the Harvey Weinstein story broke in October 2017, I recommend you check out this article {https://goo.gl/Uq65Qv} by the NY Times)
⠀⠀IIIa. If you notice I have accepted someone who has been accused of sexual misconduct/harassment/assault please inform me right away, and ideally with a link to a news source from where you learned about (I will google it myself, but the ready-to-go link would be much appreciated.)
⠀⠀IIIb. Also, Alec Baldwin is on my list of rejected faceclaims. He's not been accused of anything, yet, but I'm not liking his defensive attitude of alleged rapists. Fúck off. Matt Damon also falls under subsection B, for a slightly different reason, but fúck him too. In this watershed moment, I have no time for defensive d i c k s and "not all men" a s s h o l e s.
⠀IV. The Challenge: a lot of us have certain fave fc's we use over and over again (I'm certainly guilty of that), so my challenge is for you to use a faceclaim you have never used before as your primary oc. This is gonna be based on the honour system, some of you guys I may know well, so I'll know if you're using your fave again, but others I may not, and I can't aggressively stalk everyone, so I won't call out anyone for not doing it. It's just a fun little challenge, worth 10 bonus points, if you opt to do it. But again, it's based on the honour system, I'm not gonna stalk anyone, but if I know you and you lie to me on the audition form. First, I'll be hurt, and second, I'll say sorry and tell you you're not getting those bonus points.

God, I feel like I've spent half of my life defending and loving unfairly hated female characters out of spite lmao. Elena was one of them! I already loved her, but all the hate she used to get back in the day (which used to be really misogynistic and kind of ableist) made me love her even more out of pure spite. And also 1950 Cinderella. The movie overall is kind of meh, but Cinderella herself is wonderful and great and seeing her get so much hate made me adore her even more.
gosh this is something that makes me SO GLAD I didn’t watch TVD while it was coming out. I love Elena SO MUCH!!! and coming at the show like an archaeologist, the way I do now, the only real remnant of the way people treated her back in the day is the lack of content, I never find any actual hate. but that drives me crazy enough!! when I go into an episode tag and there are twelve-thousand gifsets of Katherine delivering two lines, and there’s NOTHING of Elena, that’s just fundamentally weird to me!! how could you watch this show and miss that Elena is stronger and better than Katherine?? that’s arguably the MAIN POINT of the first two seasons!!!!
yeah, now that you mention it, there is definitely some spite piled on top of the positive reasons that I love Elena haha.
isn’t it funny, though, that both of the characters you named are characters that are so, truly good and kind? there’s something so fundamentally tumblr about the experience of loving something out of spite - but I feel like I don’t actually see “problematic faves” loved this way, as much as I see the weird phenomenon of having to rise up and defend our right to love something that’s actually good.

What Am I Wearing- ...what the hell but also meh what the hell. At the moment boxers, a Breath of the Wild tshirt, a hand-modified space and skull jacket and iridescent skeleton hand burretts. Clearly the epitome of fashion.
Dream Vacation: It would depend on if I was going with someone or not. If I was with someone anywhere we could hang out in peace and not have to worry about anything would be nice. By myself honestly either holed up in my house with no future social engagements or being allowed to hike through some woods to explore would be amazing.
Dream car: anything that works, preferably with low mileage. (I think that's a good thing with cars, not really sure). Honestly though, I wouldnt do it, but I've always had a vision of getting a huge hillbilly truck bc the image of me, a five foot one inch obvious nerd hopping down from some monster of a road roller is hilarious to me.
Fave food: CAKE!!! Any desert really, but cake all the way. My favorite comfort food however is instant mashed potatoes with butter or seasoned butter noodles.
Drink of Choice: Forever the sleep deprived insomniac I live for anything caffeine, but usually I only drink water and apple juice when it's in the house. These three, they are the liquid of the gods.
Instrument: I've been picking up and putting down guitar for years now, I dont quite have the finger coordination yet and I'm not good at self teaching so i still suck. I can sing though and love doing so. I used to play a bit of piano but I was self taught with that too and havent touched one for years so I probably forgot everything.
Language: English. I'm trying to learn ASL and I took a year of Spanish in high school but heck if I remember anything.

Random Fact: I'm allergic to any and all metal. My skin will eat through rings and rust necklace chains. I didnt realize this until I worked at an industrial chem plant where industrial grade metal mixtures were used for plating and my hands and arms broke out in an itchy rash that would occasionally burst open and bleed. Since working there the allergy only got worse and now all my jewelry has to be replaced with string because otherwise it doesn't last.
