not sure if this was intentional or not but nemik saying in his manifesto “Remember this: Try.” is an interesting sentiment given that “do or do not, there is no try” is like one of the more famous lines from the original trilogy

ahsoka has no personality, practically no character arc, and probably less screentime than any of the other main characters. in the ahsoka show. sabine can suddenly use the force now because she thought about it really really hard. meaningful character interactions are constantly being cut short or interspersed with quips because heaven forbid we linger on any genuine displays of human emotion. morgan's identity as a nightsister could have been really interesting to explore but instead of doing pretty much anything with that her only purpose was to look like an idiot next to thrawn to emphasize what a genius he is. and then die. what motivation do the nightsisters have to help thrawn? that's anyone's guess! ezra is the only rebels character in this show who actually feels even remotely recognizable as his animated counterpart. and after all that we're probably never gonna get any resolution for shin and baylan because fuck me i guess!!!!!

the thing that i love about andor is that we're seeing cassian's radicalization in real time. like at the beginning he didnt like the empire obviously but he was also pretty apathetic about the rebellion, and he did the aldhani mission bc he had no choice. i feel like him killing skeen showed that he was more sympathetic and knows that what they did was for a good cause even if there were losses and its a little bit doomed. but even in last week's episode when his mom wanted to join the rebellion he was not interested in doing the same, but this episode, god.
he is truly seeing the empire for what it is, and he meets these men who are looking for any shred of hope that there's someone out there who's fighting for them - i really cannot wait to see cassian's continuing development ,this is what i wanted to see! i wanted to see how this self (and family) centered guy turned into the passionate rebel that we saw in rogue one and we are seeing that!!!! its so exciting i love this show star wars is good sometimes

visions volume 2 was so good <3 i think overall i might've liked volume 1 better (though i'd need to rewatch to be sure), but this one was equally incredible, the animation was stunning and some shorts from this volume will now be in my favorites list: screecher's reach (ep. 2), in the stars (ep. 3), journey to the dark head (ep. 5), and the spy dancer (ep. 6); though i genuinely loved the nine of them.
if anyone's wondering whether they should check it out or not, i highly recommend it — both volumes if you haven't seen volume 1 yet! :)

obviously the quality of all these shows is suffering from the fact that their primary function is to provide the setup for future star wars projects (mcuification, baby!!! who's ready for the infinity war style team-up movie where the gang takes down thanos—i mean thrawn?). but i also think a big part of why the book of boba fett, mando s3 (and to a slightly lesser extent, s2 as well), and ahsoka all suffer from the same issue of having their main protagonists cast aside in favour of side characters—which in itself might not be as annoying as it is if those stories were even remotely interesting or well-written—is because filoni & co. want to be making an ensemble piece. but instead, they're stuck having to make a bunch of solo projects that are ostensibly about individuals or smaller casts of characters, which they then stumble their way through in the most half-assed, half-hearted way possible because it's all just setup for the "mandoverse movie," a phrase which makes me want to projectile vomit.

do you ever think about how ahsoka WAS going to go back home. how she loved being a jedi and the jedi temple was still her home despite everything and she wanted to go home and the only reason she hadn’t in the end was because she needed to be a solider and because she thought she had time that she could finally just go home after the war. but she couldn’t. and she will never go home ever again.
