Their Favorite Place in Tokyo [Obey Me! Boys]

Lucifer

Prince Park Tower Hotel

This hotel is definitely one of the higher end hotels for the elite

When you step foot inside, you'll be astounded by the decor and how beautiful everything is

Lucifer finds the sophistication wonderful and enjoys staying in the western themed rooms

However, he does like the traditional styles as well when he wants a change of pace

The club level is a great escape from the noise and he can eat in peace while overlooking Tokyo Tower and the city

The bar has some world famous bar tenders where it's a pleasure to see the bar tricks that they know

He enjoys walking through Shiba Koen, a nearby park that leads to the train station

When he was walking to the Hamamatsucho station, he found a wonderful Spanish restaurant that quickly became one of his favorites

He does avoid taking Mammon to the hotel as millionaires and billionaires will park their supercars in the hotel's garage.

Mammon

Shinjiku

Shinjiku is one of the more diverse areas of Tokyo

It's a bit more sophisticated in some areas while being more chaotic in other areas depending on what mood Mammon's in

There are plenty of places to play pachinko, but if he wants something more exciting, the red light district is just right there

There, he could potentially find some underground gambling rings

Shinjiku is also home to a great queer scene: bars, cafes, bookstores, clubs, etc.

He enjoys the bars and clubs where he can just really be himself without his older brother breathing down his neck

Mammon also saw the various street performers making money there, he tried to make a quick buck by performing, but didn't do too well

Leviathan

Akihabara and Ikebukuro

Both places have a lot of anime stuff

Akihabara is well known for it's anime and video game scene

All of the arcades are so much fun for this otaku

But Ikebukuro also has the Sunshine City Mall that has a Pokemon Center, Sanrio Store (Hello Kitty and friends), regular anime/video game/movie exhibits, and a great aquarium

He also enjoys the various concerts that are in Ikebukuro

There's also a huge bookstore in Ikebukuro that has a ton of manga

Satan

Ueno

Just outside of Ueno station is Ueno Park

Ueno Park has the Ueno Zoo and three museums

All of which are wonderful and very affordable

The Ueno Zoo hosts a large selection of animals: including Giant Pandas!

The exhibits are large and full of enrichment

The museums include a nature and science museums, an art museum, and a history museum

All are wonderfully curated and educational

The Ueno Park is also gorgeous and home to a lot of stray cats - bonus points for Satan

Asmodeus

Shibuya

The fashion capital of Tokyo! Or, well, one of them

This line of fashion is very close to Asmo's taste and he loves going to all of the high end stores

His arms are full of shopping bags at the end of the day

He'll also stop at one of the many cafes for a sweet treat. These sweet treats are also perfect Devilgram material for him to brag about his day in the human realm

Beelzebub

Ryogoku

Ryogoku is the sumo capital of Tokyo

Not only is a great way for Beel to see this unique sport and try to figure out how to incorporate it into his own, but it has food

Lots and lots of food

The servings here are huge! They're bigger than what Beel is used to, but he still easily eats everything

He enjoys going from restaurant to restaurant to try all of the different creations

Belphegor

Sky Tree and Tokyo Tower

Belphie likes getting up high in the city, especially at night

The Sky Tree and Tokyo Tower provide great views of the flickering lights

He can sit along the windows and take a quick nap

He also likes the trains in Tokyo, because it's very common for people to nap on them while the commute form work to home

of course, he's just on the train to nap

Diavolo

Tokyo Disney and Disney Sea

Does not care that Disney is evil: he's a CEO in the human world and the next king of literal Hell

Enjoys trying all of the different popcorn flavors in Disney Sea: sea salt, curry, cotton candy, etc.

Gets Mickey ears

Loves all of the rides and especially loves the ones that take pictures

Tries to pose in front of the camera, but always ends up with a goofy grin on his face since he's having too much fun

Barbatos

Meji Gardens and Meji Shrine

There's a wonderful tea shop just before the path to the Meji Gardens and Shrine, right by the huge tori gate

He enjoys sipping his tea while he either people watches or as he walks through the forest

The gardens are gorgeous and extremely peaceful

Once he saw a turtle and sat there watching it for about an hour

He enjoys watching the different ceremonies at the shrine and buys the talismans and charms as gifts for everyone

Simeon

Mount Takao

True, not actually in Tokyo, but it is just a short train ride away

He enjoys the hike up the mountain and stops to admire the tengu statues

The temple is very peaceful and he likes to watch the people there pray

Loves the dango that the shop sells after his hike up to the top of the mountain

Will sit on the bench snacking while admiring the view of Mount Fuji and Tokyo

Luke

Tokyo

What? Tokyo? Like the whole city?

No! Like the district with Tokyo Station!

Tokyo Station has a wonderful little shopping area with a lot of desserts

It's also near some of the most famous pastry chefs

His favorite pastry chef is Hidemi Sugino

His desserts have won awards

One would think that they're expensive with how famous he is, but they're actually pretty affordable!

Luke likes to go to his shop and learn all he can to show off his new skills to Barbatos

Solomon

Harajuku

Harajuku is a bit chaotic with a sense of magic

It's right near Meji Gardens, just across a pedestrian bridge in fact

It also has a unique fashion theme with visual kei and lolita being main selling points

There are also a lot of different cafes: ferret and capybara, cat, maid, etc.

He enjoys the unique, bustling culture here

There's also some occult items here which he finds amusing

It's also hard to see the ocean from there, which makes him feel better for being on an island

My TFP Humanformers Headcanons: With Pictures This Time

Originally posted here, but that’s all text only.

In my defence, I studied fashion at university level for two years, so this post was inevitable.

Optimus Prime - James Dean Style, aka “Hot Dad”

Optimus would probably love doing the research to determine human styles and what he likes best.

I can picture him doing a 1950s inspired look, more Greaser than stuffy suits, but in a more James Dean way and not John Travolta in Grease kind of way if he needed to go undercover as Jack’s dad or something.

He’d be a bit older than James Dean was in the above photo, definitely in his 30s at the youngest. Would still have silver mixed in with his black hair, to replicate the silver details on his helm. He doesn’t smoke, but might chew on a pen cap every now and then without thinking about it.

Ultra Magnus - Vittorio de Sica - Classic Italian Suit Chic

When doing research into human styles, Optimus showed him a Hermes magazine and some European business style guides from GQ and decided he liked the formal suit look. I imagine he’d have a very Italian look to him, as he might be wearing an Italian or Continental style suit.

For some reason, Magnus as a 40 or 50 year old stern and stylish Italian guy just works really well. He’d be extremely well dressed, well groomed, would still demand authority, and I imagine him looking like Vittorio de Sica, pictured above.

He would perhaps use his holoform to accompany Fowler in discussions with some military superiors.

Initially, he wanted to pick a military style uniform for his holoform, and Fowler had to explain to him in detail why that wasn’t an acceptable thing to do. So he went for chic lawyer instead.

Ratchet - Old War Vet + What He Thinks is Nevada Style: George Gabby Hayes

Ratchet would literally just be my dad or any of his old war buddies, possibly with a mobility aid like a cane or walking stick because that seems to be very popular amongst my dad and his friends. (To quote my father: “I can walk with it and I can beat people with it, so it works fine for me, don’t touch me dammit I can get up by myself.”)

I get the feeling he’d approach designing his holoform from a logical angle, wanting to fit in with the locals to avoid detection. Unfortunately, this meant he found a bunch of old Western movies online when looking up style inspiration, and decided that this was probably the best look to go for since all these movies were filmed in Nevada, so surely this would be familiar to people, right? (Wrong.)

He’d be tough and wrinkly, but give those precious old man smiles with big twinkling eyes that shine so brightly against his old weathered skin, and that alone would get him get out of trouble with the authorities-- Or helps him get the others out of trouble. He would play the “I’m just an old person, what do you want from me” card and he would succeed. Then he’d turn around and get mad that everyone treats him like he’s old, lmao.

Arcee - Tori Amos: Late 1990s/2000s Casual

Arcee would go for 20s-30s in terms of age, motorcyclist, we already see this on screen every now and then. I think they would estimate for approximate human age relative to one another’s Cybertronian age, so this works as Arcee seems to be younger than the rest.

I picture her outside of her motorcycle gear in a very late 90s/early 2000s style look, casual but stylish. It would throw people off because she’s so much mature than what people might assume, which gives her an edge in conversation.

Her cover story could be that she’s Jack’s cousin, or maybe a friend of his mom’s, depending on what the mission/situation is. Could also possibly say that she’s one of Jack’s co-workers if need be. She’d probably redesign her holoform to have red hair just to troll Jack (the classmate he has a crush on is a redhead).

Bulkhead - Mark Sagato + 1990s Alt Rock Gear

I can easily picture Bulkhead’s holoform looking similar to Mark Sagato, pictured above, who is a former Sumo wrestler and a film actor.

He’d be rocking a green cargo jacket layered with a plaid flannel shirt over a plain white tee or a band t-shirt and blue jeans with black steel toe boots, possibly with a workman’s tool belt. His cover story could be that he’s Miko’s uncle visiting from Japan!

I imagine a very casual 90s alternative rock meets almost-lumberjack look for him, to match Miko a bit. He’d probably have some ribbon wristbands from live shows/gigs up his arm, because Miko would absolutely encourage accessorising.

Wheeljack - Billy Idol + Specifically Grunge Punk

Wheeljack would be every single old school dude in the grunge punk scene that I’ve ever met. He’d look like an older Billy Idol, but only if you imagine what that would look like, not like, the actually currently old Billy Idol.

Older guy, skinny but tough, jean jacket covered in patches and buttons and pins, black jeans held together with random string sewn in like embroidery thread, a pair of Converse so old that they might be from the 70s original line. Grey bandana also covered in pins around his head and another around his neck. He would also have ribbon wristbands from shows, courtesy of Miko’s style advice.

Bumblebee - Fred Olande: 1995 Was a Great Year for Skateboarding

Bumblebee would be a young guy, maybe even late teens/early 20s, massively baggy yellow hoodie with a black jean vest over the top like a lot of young guys wore in the 90s back when I wasn’t a dinosaur myself. Jeans that are pale from being worn/washed too many times, threadbare around the knees, wearing some kind of skateboarding shoe. I imagine him wearing a beanie as well. Every pocket is full of graffiti pens for the skatepark and his phone screen is cracked.

Raf would help him with his holoform details, and I can picture him basing his look off of some of Raf’s family photos, so he’d definitely be Mexican/Latinx. His cover story could be that he’s Raf’s cousin visiting from a border town or Mexico, and his excuse for not speaking would simply be that he doesn’t know that much English, so that would work out perfectly.

Smokescreen - 1970s/1980s Sports Gear Forever

Smokescreen would inevitably try to go for a 1970s/80s movie inspired sporty look, and would probably look to be about in his late teens/early 20s.

Think classic white Nikes, very sporty 80s style with a white and blue puffy jacket (or sweat shirt) and red fabric wristbands. If anyone has a mullet or a feathered hair style, it’s gonna be Smokescreen. His tank top is Adidas, and his sweatpants are also Adidas.

Unfortunately, he then discovers that shorts exist, and cycles between the classic Butterick patterns above, depending on the mission/who he is trying to impress that day.

(I won’t lie, I did the shorts over sweatpants thing well into the 90s. Yes, I was made fun of.)

would you ever do a general rating of the 1d music videos?

I genuinely thought that I had already answered this, but I hadn’t. So my answer is: Of course! I thought you’d never ask.

One Thing: Music videos are inherently absurd and in some ways the more naturalistic they try and be the more ridiculous they are - because you still have these people lip syncing through life. One of the reason that One Thing works so well - is that idea of the video is that 1D are performing their song through London. So you get all the absurd joy of an upbeat music video performance, but it feels real, because they are actually travelling through London on a bus performing.

There are so many perfect moments in this video: Harry’s ridiculous cheesyness at the beginning, Zayn with the Hijabi, Niall busking, Louis looking on while Zayn is busking and sort of taking charge, all the beautiful heartbreaking connection and charm on the bus. Even Liam’s going blank as someone takes a picture with him - is capturing an importat aspect of who he is. The framework that they were performing, allowed all these moments to come out that felt very real.

Kiss You: Glorious high energy ridiculousness. The simple concept of tribute to Elvis movies works really well - working with the unrealness of filming makes the video feel grounded in a paradoxical way. One of the reasons I like music videos is that they need to be based on an idea that can be executed in such a short space of time. And that’s what I think

What Makes You Beautiful: Is the WMYB music video actually good? maybe not. There’s some really ridiculous cross fade editing and nothing about it is particularly interesting. But it doesn’t matter, because I love it ever so much. There’s so much joy from their performances - and they’re wearing really ridiculous trousers.

Plus the ocean is in it lots and I haven’t been for a swim for almost five months and I haven’t seen a body of water larger than a duck pond for longer. Joy and a sense of place is enough for a music video.

Little Things: Sweet, sincere, naturalistic and effective. It’s very simple and simple is hard. But everything about it (except the song) works.

Best Song Ever: Such an absurd music video - but heaps of fun and that’s all that really matters. Obviously Marcel and Veronica alone would be enough, but there is a lot of other joy to be had here, they interact with each other - and there’s synchroised dancing.

(A small side note, I hadn’t realised that it was filmed in a synagogue, until Ben mentioned it recently on a day that was definitely not hte anniversary of it being filmed. And I couldn’t stop thinking about it when watching, because it’s so obvious. And there are all sorts of ways that the space doesn’t feel like an office, but a set pretending to be an office. It doesn’t really matter in this video, because it’s supposed to be absurd, but Ben is really, really bad at sense of place in his videos).

Story of My Life: This is an excellent concept for a music video - it’s simple enough that it can be explored in four minutes, but it is interesting. There’s an incredible behind the scene team that recreated houses from the 1990s, and those sequences really work for me. The space they sing in also looks really cool and interesting, in a way that fits with the theme of the video. Despite these strengths, it also invented 1D standing in a line, singing, but not interacting while being filmed from below, which is the curse of later 1D music videos. (I absolutely get the appeal of 1D members having bits by themselves, and therefore making filming less intense for all involved, but why then choose such a terrible way for them to come together again?)

Live While We’re Young: Watching the treatment has really brought out the weakness of this video to me. The frolicking is fun - the whole video is super high energy and full of joy, but where are they and why? The video is just too clean, both literally and figureatively, to make the fun these people in their late teens and early twenties are supposedly having seem real.

Drag Me Down: The concept behind the video is amusingly basic (’the opposite of being dragged down is going into space!’), but the video itself mostly works. The setting is more than interesting enough to sustain 3 minutes and elevent seconds of 1D members existing in it. And Harry and the robot is actively good.

You & I: I’ve never quite understood the vitriol directed at this video. It’s quite drab and not actively good, but there’s interaction between 1D members and the British seaside in bleak weather is a sense of place. (Here’s getting even more controversial. I’ve no idea why people call this plagerism. Using the same special effect is hardly plagerism - and music videos as a genre involve a lot of using ideas.

Perfect: I struggled with where to place this, because there’s a lot of good moments: the interview, Liam and Louis messing around, Harry and Harry L. And there should be a sense of space. But ultimately the inexplicable decision to film in black and white really brings this video down for me. As far as I can tell the only reason it was done that way to make it look pretty. And I have a real thing about filmakers choosing aesthetics in a way that undermines what they’re actually trying to do. If it had felt more real and grounded this video could have so easily captured the cooped up feeling of luxury - and the ways you cope in it that the song mentions. But instead it’s just a series of aesthetically chosen snippets - and then people singing in a line for no reason.

Night Changes: This video is at least a couple of places higher than it should be, because of the incadescent hammy charm of Harry’s performance. Also because the fact that Niall wants to kill you at least makes his segment interesting. But I will say that I think the depiction of y/n ends up being quite misogynist, particularly because the video makes her everywoman. She’s ridiculously passive thorughout each scenario, not just being led around by 1D members on the date itself, but also doing nothing while Niall is on fire. Then her judgements are absurdly shallow - blaming Zayn for her ex being an asshole and Niall for being set on fire (although if she’s just using it as excuse to escape that’s legit)

History: This video is also a struggle - because the footage is really good and the present day performance is really bad. In the end I dropped it down the list, because of the way it squandered potential and how easy it would be to make a better version of this video.

Gotta Be You: In a lot of ways Gotta Be You isn’t bad it’s just boring with some very odd serious faces. But I can never unsee Liam rending at his trousers after singing ‘what a mess I made upon your innocence’ - and the video has to take responsibility for that.

Midnight Memories: This video is an abomination - trying for joy and a sense of place and failing spectacularly at both. I have written a whole post about everything that is wrong with Midnight Memories. And the only thing I’d like to add is: ‘Stop assuming that women owe you attention Niall’.

Steal My Girl: So mostly this is just a mediocre video. There’s no emotional core to it. There’s no real sense of place - and the attempts at surrealism are super basic. But it would be a lot higher up (because there’s a lot of bad 1D videos), if it wasn’t for the depiction of what is supposed to be Masai culture.

That video mostly depicts performers in that desert. Ballet Dancers, marching bands, Sumo Wrestlers, rhythmic gymnasts and mimes. These are all people who are performing in this video in a way they perform for a living. To include a depiction of Masai people in that context, is to reduce Masai culture to a performance for white people.

I think it’s also really importat that the Masai are presumably black American extras dressed up to look like Masai, while everyone else from ballet dancers to Sumo wrestlers, are what they are performing. And I think you can really tell - particularly the difference between Zayn’s interaction with the Sumo wrestlers, and Niall’s interaction with the Masai. The Sumo wrestlers are depicted as people who are interacting with Zayn and have agency. (There may very well also be things Japanese people object to about the depiction of Sumo wrestlers! Obviously I’m not an expert in any of this. But I do think the difference between having people with knowledge, and having people dress up is very significant).

More than that, the whole idea of ‘bringing life to the desert’ is also a colonial idea. There is life in a desert - and there are people who have lived in the desert - the idea that the desert is lifeless and needs to be transformed by outsiders only makes sense for people who want to erasing existing life and claim it as their own.

One Way or Another Teenage Kicks: DAVID FUCKING CAMERON! JUST STANDING THERE SURROUNDED BY ONE DIRECTION MEMBERS! Even if you leave aside the current set of clusterfucks that David Cameron is directly responsible for, because they didn’t know about them (WHICH I DON’T!), austerity was killing people in 2013. David Cameron’s Tory governement relentlessly attacked poor and disabled people and made their lives worse. It’s shameful that any of them were prepared to be in a video with him. (There is also the larger issue of the way Comic Relief constructs ‘Africa’ and the white saviourism of this video, but the appearance of David Cameron’s smug face means I can’t concentrate enough to write about it).

Strength, power and being a woman on the mats

**I still haven’t totally worked out my feelings here, so I apologize if this comes out as confusing.

First things first. I’m a 40-yo woman who practices aikido. I passed my shodan a few months ago. I train in Japan and while in the West, I’m average-to-small, here I’m on the bigger side of the scale in size and weight. Also, I’m stronger than average for a woman, Japanese or Western. Aikido doesn’t rely on strength. In fact, it is discouraged to use muscle power to execute a technique because it means you’re ‘powering it through’. Having said that, as a uke, you’re supposed to attack vigorously, and with higher ranking folks, it helps tori (the person who’s doing the aikido technique/defense) refining their skills if you block, becomes heavy, strike powerfully. Also, rolling over and over again, training with weapons, etc. requires good stamina and physical condition, so everybody does pumps, crunches, works on those abs, etc. So yeah, it’s not a slow dance and I have definitely gained muscles.

Then cue in the cultural and gender card. Women and men train together, and it is an etiquette rule that you adapt your strength (as uke) and power (as tori) in relation to your partner, their size, weight, and skills. I won’t hold back with a shorter and older woman who is a 4th dan, but for sure, I’m not going to throw down a 25yo white belt dude who started last week. I don’t care if their pride is hurt, they don’t know how to fold and fall yet.

But that’s me. Over the past months, I’ve realized some men are wary around me (higher or same rank). A sempai of mine who always takes great care to point out all the things that don’t work with my techniques and helps me improve begged me last week with a laugh to ‘take it slow’ with him, on suwari waza kokyu ho, and called me a ‘beast’. Yep, I can block this one pretty easily, and my technique is good so not many people can block me even when they’ve got 30 kg on me.

But you know what? A part of me thought, ‘uh, I should maybe back down a notch’. And I know it’s typically a woman’s reaction. I see those guys acting like sumo wrestlers for the same exercise and nobody tunes it down. So... no? Then yesterday, during our GM class, when doing a nikkyo ura, a (female) sempai pointed out I was using too much power when folding her wrist. It wasn’t working. She’s super strong and powerful herself. I realized I was indeed powering through the technique, and not doing it properly. It hurt but wasn’t debilitating. I didn’t need to squeeze and grab so much. The angle was wrong. It will take some time to correct myself, and she was totally right.

Now right behind, I ended up doing suwari waza yonkyo with two sempai - one young 2nd dan foreigner, and one of our highest ranking instructors, a 7th dan shihan (so you shut up and do what he says). After watching me rolling twice with the other sempai, he stopped me and said ‘what are you doing? you’re doing budo, stop being kind. He strikes, you bring him down right away with ikkyo, and then move to yonkyo. Slam him!’ It’s honestly the first time anyone told me that, and darn it felt good! I grinned, said ‘okay’, and then went full power, basically knocking the breath out of my sempai with my ikkyo.

When I turned uke, my sempai didn’t dare reciprocate and got an earful. He protested, ‘but she’s an angel!’. Wrong answer.

I honestly snorted (face against the mats, before grunting in pain when he almost snapped my wrist).

Then it was again my turn to defend, and I slammed him again. When we switched to suwari waza kokyu ho, he called me a ‘bull’ - his technique wasn’t good enough, and I could block him. I retorted - ‘yeah but with blond hair and wings, right?’

Anyway, I don’t know what my point even is, except maybe:

- strength matters but only when appropriate

- it’s fine to look like you came out of the hair salon, then drive them through the tatami.

- power and strength are two vastly different things

- To all women doing martial arts out there: *most* guys are intimidated and would like you to tune it down so that their ego doesn’t get as bruised as their ass, but those who know better will support you and train you so that you can become the weapon you were meant to be.

SPOILERS AHOY (ISH)

It’s been like four years since I did a post like this, so here’s me dumping my thoughts on various, random things I’ve been into/thinking about lately.

I’ll be covering Miraculous Ladybug S3, Fire Emblem Three Houses, My Hero Academia, The MCU, Chocolate/Zen: Warrior Within, Pokemon SwSh, Victorious, BtVS/Angel, and Star Wars: RoS so just a warning for potential spoilers. Also, there will be salt and gushing, so proceed with caution.

Victorious

--> Ok, so this show came out when I was already in high school, so I think some of my opinions and takes on the show are going to contrast with the general consensus.

--> But I’m firmly in the pro-Tori Vega camp. Do I agree with her kissing Beck in the pilot? No. But considering that Jade humiliated her in front of her class for a small misunderstanding that could have been easily cleared up if Jade took five seconds to hear Tori out, I find it difficult to feel bad for Jade. Plus, Tori gets called out for this a couple of times in later episodes anyway.

--> As for Cat’s BF, yeah, that was shitty too but A. He was originally Tori’s BF and they only broke up a year prior to the episode and B. Not only does Tori feel immediate remorse for what she does (spraying Cat with cheese and then kissing her bf in front of her), but she apologizes and never does anything like it again for the rest of the show. BTW, these are both season one incidents, so clearly Tori grows out of this.

--> Plus, I can relate to some of Tori’s awkward traits, like being kind of annoying, not having the best verbal comebacks and feeling pretty average.

--> On the other hand, I can’t stand Jade. Her attitude reminds me of a girl I used to be on and off friends with in middle school. She ended up embarrassing me in front of the cast of our fall play in eighth grade and never apologized for it. --> My ships are Tandre (Tori/Andre) and Catrina (Cat/Trina)! Tori and Andre always look like they have fun performing together or just hanging out, and their friendship is just so precious. I wish Cat and Trina had more scenes together, because I loved their road trip in “Tori the Zombie” and they’re both dysfunctional in their own ways, but trying their best!!

BtVS/Angel

--> Nothing new really. But my Tandre feels reminded me how much I also loved Gunn/Fred and wished that they stayed together. Even their ship name, Funn, is precious and gahhhhhhh breaking them up was a mistake!

My Hero Academia

--> It took me like 3-4 years after watching the first episode, but I finally watched it.

--> I’m surprised by how much I really like Izuku. Like, I normally like the protagonist fine, but Izuku just really stood out to me. He’s socially awkward, but in a pretty understandable way, intelligent and passionate without using any of it to put other people down, and ofc he cares about his friends and saving other people because what shonen protagonist doesn’t? The only thing I don’t like about him is his hero worship of Bakugo, but that’s just my bias.

--> Oh, yeah, I don’t like Bakugo.

--> Relating to Aizawa the most, and realizing that it’s because I’m getting older hukjdshfaskdnfj

--> I don’t have a ship I’m the most invested in, but I like Izuku with both Todoroki and Uraraka, and I also like Uraraka with Tsuyu. Erasermic is also really good.

--> Not a fan of Eraserjoke. I don’t like the way she continues to ask Aizawa out and then plays it off as a joke when he rejects her like. Like, it’s such a high school thing to do, it’s so weird seeing two grown adults do it. Just take the L and move on, Ms. Joke. Not only is it creepy to continue asking someone out when they say no, it’s annoying to pretend that you didn’t really mean it because it makes it difficult to read you in future scenarios.

Fire Emblem Three Houses

--> Love it love it love it.

--> Like Fire Emblem has always been more of my brother’s thing, but with Awakening, Fates and Three Houses introducing easier difficulty options, I’ve found it much easier to get into the series. Like, I’m a pretty casual gamer so I’m not looking for anything too challenging most of the time.

--> Ofc I knew going in I was picking Golden Deer, and I was not disappointed. I love everyone every single student in there. The atmosphere was so chaotic, that I just knew recruiting everyone that I could to make it more so just had to be done.

--> Claude and Hilda are the best lord and “retainer” respectively, don’t @ me.

MCU

--> Uh, I haven’t really kept up with MCU stuff since Endgame (which I didn’t care for tbh). I just wanted to remind everyone that I hate Tony Stark :)

Miraculous Ladybug S3

(me @ this entire season tbh)

--> I don’t really post much about ML on this blog anymore because I ended up making a side blog (for salt mostly tbh). But in case anyone doesn’t keep up with what happens over there, I basically hated this entire season lol.

--> Ok, I loved Silencer. Best episode in the season period, no questions asked. I also really liked Kwamibuster and Startrain. Desperada grew on me over time, while Bakerix was... okay, I guess. And Felix was entertaining, even if I felt that the message that they were trying to get across was forced and meant to shut the fandom up. Oblivio was good until that ending, and once Silencer came along, I quickly learned I had no use for it anyway. It being an amnesia episode did it no favors, either.

--> Just as I feared, the season revolved more around humiliating or putting Marinette in really embarrassing situations for the same of “drama”. The Puppeteer 2 is a really good example of this. And it’s upsetting, because none of this actually does anything for Marinette’s character. She’s not even allowed to breakdown or be upset about anything that goes wrong for her until the end of “Heart Hunter” and even that only lasts, like, ten seconds.

--> Also, I don’t ship the Love Square anymore. Lukanette all the way, baby.

--> Let’s be real, Marinette/Happiness should be the real OTP of the show.

--> The fact that every episode of season 4 is supposed to be as dramatic as Chat Blanc does not leave me hopeful for the future. Like, really, you’re going to use an episode in which an entire timeline’s worth of events gets erased and leaves everyone with no memories of it as the basis of your emotional impact going forward? Um, thank you, next.

Rise of Skywalker

--> Haven’t seen it and after seeing the spoilers, I don’t plan to. I really liked TFA, and was excited to see what they did with the Rey-Poe-Finn dynamic. I was not here for Kylo Ren or Reylo. I guess Finn/Rey is joining Tandre and Funn in my “missed opportunity OTPs” corner. D:

Chocolate/Zen: Warrior Within

--> OMG one of my fave movies of all time. Like I appreciate it more and more with age. It’s basically everything I want in a movie.

--> The scene where Zen discovers that her mom’s hair is falling out and she blames herself for it always gets me. Like I always forget about it, so when I see it again, I can’t help but nearly breakdown myself, because I know exactly what Zen’s thought process is without her even having to say anything. I feel just as overwhelmed as she does in the moment and nearly cry every time watching it.

--> One of the few movies that I wish actually got a sequel. Like I have so many questions that could be answered. How do Zen and Moom adjust to living in Japan? How does Zen’s father try to relate to her and Moom? Do they make any other friends? Will Zen get access to resources that will help her? Will they be further ostracized because of their status as outsiders? As someone who already struggles verbally, how will Zen adapt to living in a country that primarily speaks another language?

Pokemon SwSh

--> Multiplayer is so much fun and wayyyy more accessible than in the past imo. A bunch of people at my martial arts school would do raid battles before classes, so I would always leave to get there early and play with them. 10/10 experience, and it makes me excited to get Animal Crosssing to do the same thing.

--> But on the other hand, I feel like this game has a lot less going for it than SuMo. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but it feels like too much is missing. Like I still enjoy it, but it’s more for the gameplay and less for the story. I’m also not nearly as invested in my team like I was last time (I loved my Sun team so much, I basically kept it the same for US, minus one or two changes). I’m trying to change it fits a “Psychedelic Ocean” vibe (Water/Psychic), and then do an “Earth” themed team for my Shield run but I just haven’t picked it back up since beating the game.

--> The characters were alright. I wasn’t as attached to any of the rivals like I was in SuMo. Leon is my bro though.

Words: 1426 Connor x Daughter!Reader W/ Dad!Hank Anderson Summary: Reader hits the road with Kara, Alice & Luther to find a safe place for them to hide out. It seems like they might make it to Hanks without any trouble, until they're stopped a little ways away from Hank's house.

“This one’s me.” You pointed out your car where it sat in a mostly vacant lot about half a block away from the church. You watched Alice shiver against Kara’s side as they continued to walk together. Luther loomed alertly behind all of you, Connor was at your side. He hadn’t said anything yet, but you could tell he wasn’t pleased with your decision.

“There are blankets in the car and the heat works great.” You assured Alice as you walked on.

When you reached the car, Kara ushered her daughter inside. You turned the key in the ignition and got the car started so that the heat would begin to warm up. Luther, for his part, gave the lot and the surrounding area another look around. He was suspicious of the situation, but it didn’t seem they had much of a choice other than to go with you.

“I’ll get some blankets out of the trunk!” You called to them as you popped the truck open.

“I don’t like this plan, [Y/N].” Connor confessed, now that you were alone together. “It’s dangerous.”

“I know, Connor.” You said after retrieving the blankets and slamming the trunk shut. “You’ve made it clear how you feel.” You leaned against the back of the car, still holding the blankets in your arms. “And I don’t like the idea of you going back to Cyberlife.”

“That’s different.” He told you, his jaw tightening. “I know what I’m doing. I can get in there without raising any alarms. You’re not trained for something like this. What if they stop you and start questioning you?”

“I’ve thought of that.” You assured him confidently. “I’ll tell them that Kara is my cousin. That I’ve just picked her and her husband up from the train station and we’re on our way back to Dad’s where they’re staying for a visit. They’re all in human clothes. Kara’s had her LED removed and Luther’s is covered by a ski cap. No one will suspect anything. I can do this Connor.”

“[Y/N]…I…”

“We’re running out of time, Connor. I’ve got to get on the road if I want to get to Dad’s before Markus and the others start marching and you’ve got to get to Cyberlife.” You walked away to hand the blankets off to Kara.

“I’ll call you as soon as we get home.” You promised, turning your attention back to him for a final time. You placed a soft kiss on his cheek. “For luck.” You told him with a smirk.

“My research suggests that in times of peril good-byes are usually much more romantic.” He said with a hint of forlorn in his tone.

“Love goes toward love as schoolboys from their books, but love from love, towards school with heavy looks.” You recited for him with a wink.

“More Romeo and Juliet.” He recognized with a smile but his frown quickly returned as he remembered another passage from the play. “These violent delights have violent ends and in their triumph die. Like fire and powder, which as they kiss consume.”

“Hey, it’s one thing to romantically quote Shakespeare to me. It’s another to threaten me with it.” You scolded. “Dangerous or not we both know what we have to do.”

“You’ll call me as soon as you’re home?” He demanded.

“And not a second later.” You promised. You could hear police sirens in the distance. A reminder that you were running out of time. “I’ve gotta go Connor. You need your backpack.” You reached into the front passenger’s seat for the backpack that had the rest of his Cyberlife uniform inside. “Oh, and this.” You shrugged off his jacket and held it out to him.

“Keep this one warm for me?” He asked exchanging his backpack and Cyberlife jacket for the green parka he’d been wearing most of the night. “Once you get home stay inside until it’s all over.”

You nodded in agreement and slipped your arms into the sleeves of the coat. You were glad to find that it was as warm inside as Connor’s synthetic skin always was. Like his Cyberlife jacket, the coat was slightly too big for you but its warmth gave you a sense of security. It felt like Connor was holding you in his arms. With a final kiss, Connor finally stepped aside and allowed you to get into your car. He stood and watched from the parking lot as you maneuvered the car out of the lot and drove away.

“You’re not an android?” Kara accused from the backseat. You watched her place a protective arm around Alice.

“No, I’m not.” You agreed, turning your eyes from the rearview mirror and back to the road. “But you’re safe with me.”

“Are you and that android in love?” Alice asked.

“Alice!” her mother scolded. ‘It’s not polite to ask those kinds of questions.”

“It’s alright, the only way to learn something is to ask questions about it.” You told them. “Yes, Alice, Connor and I love each other.” You let the statement hang in the air for a minute. It was the first time you’d said that out loud. “My dad’s a cop and he and Connor work together. Would you like me to tell you how we met?” Alice nodded in the backseat.

So you began to tell Alice, Kara and Luther the story of how you and Connor met. You left out any of the details that might be inappropriate for a small child, like your father’s drinking habit and his too-recent-for-comfort-game-of-Russian-Roulette. Instead you decided to focus on the sweet parts of the story like your walks with Sumo, and the night you read Romeo and Juliet together. You were just about to get to the part where you acted as a getaway car from the police station when you saw blue and red lights in your rearview.

“Everyone stay calm.” You instructed. “Just act normal, they have no reason to suspect that we’re not who we say we are.” You pulled your car off to the side of the road and waited for the officer who’d pulled you over to approach. You felt relief at the sight of one of the two figures that swaggered over to you. Along with a uniformed office you didn’t know, you recognized detective Gavin Reed from your father’s precinct. From your previous encounters with him, Gavin could be thick as a post sometimes. Gavin rapped on your window, not recognizing you at first.

“License and registration please.” He said before crouching down and lowering his sunglasses. “[Y/N]? [Y/N] Anderson?”

“Hey Reed.” You greeted him politely. “You still need my license and registration?” You asked.

“It’s a formality.” He shrugged. “Got have it for everyone we stop.”

“I understand.” You nodded. You retrieved the required paperwork from your glovebox and handed it over.

“And, ah, who are your friends?” He pointed to the backseat.

“My cousin Kara, her husband Luther and their daughter Alice. We’ve been planning this visit for weeks! They were supposed to stay at my place in the center of the city but those fucking androids ruined our plans. You can’t get anywhere because of them.” You rolled your eyes. “We’re on our way to dads.”

“Your old man at home?” He pushed his shades back up the bridge of his nose. “His android gave me a fucking knock on the head, and I want to return the favor.”

“I have no idea if he’s at home, but I willing to bet he’s nowhere near that plastic fuck.” You shook your head. “Dad never wanted that thing around anyway.”

“Yeah, you’re probably right.” He nodded before handing you back your license and registration. “You better get going. Who knows what those fucking androids are planning to do next? They’re clear!” He shouted to the uniformed office before walking back towards the patrol car. You rolled up your window and drove away.

“I can’t believe that fucking worked.” You sighed, feeling like you could breathe again for the first time in five minutes. “Sorry Alice, I’m sure your parents have taught you before that swearing is for grown-ups.”

Oh, we’re not her…” Kara began to say but after exchanging a glance with Luther she let the sentence trail off. “I guess we kind of are.” Kara smiled at the idea before launching into her own tale of how she became deviant to protect Alice from her abusive father and how they’d come to find Luther at the house of a human they thought they could trust.

The Hayden Young Project: Book 2 Individual Scene Masterlist

Tumblr will not allow me to put more than a hundred links in a post, so PM Book 2 needs its own masterlist! You'll find the scene masterlist for Book 1 here.

To those who are new to THYP, this masterlist is part of a larger project meant to explore how Hayden's personality types are built in Perfect Match, and how their variant traits manifest in different situations, and develop relationships with the other characters differently.

As we all know, the 16 different personality types in Perfect Match emerge from a combination of four major traits, ergo once a type is assigned, Hayden's responses to situations are coded accordingly. I will be putting these scenes up on a chapter-by-chapter basis, since there is at least one occasion where one trait follows the other. I hope this masterlist will help you map these traits and how they will be used in the book. I hope, eventually, to use this as a resource for my essays on Hayden's personalit(ies).

Following are the Haydens I have used for screenshots of each scene:

Iris and Sage will be the personalities I will be using the most, being polar opposites in terms of traits. Doing gameplays with them allowed me to pick on differences that I would have missed with any other set of playthroughs.

Alongside those, I have also done partial playthroughs with the following LIs:

This was used mostly to gain clarity over which trait a certain action/scene would come under, or to highlight variances-within-variances (eg. situations where two traits manifest one after the other, such as the changes within the Harajuku scene, or the descriptions of their jobs on their first date). The last two were specifically used to highlight differences in dialogue in the second chapter of Book 1.

This project would probably not have been possible without the extremely helpful references I got from various YouTube channels, such as BizzysChoices (Rebel Hayden), HIMEME (Mediator), Vika Avey (Leader), Abhirio (Dreamer), She's Got Choices (Artist) and many others. Whoever these Youtubers are, thank you so much for putting those playthroughs out there, because without you guys collecting these scenes would have been much, much harder.

It's clear that a tremendous amount of work has gone into this character, and I'm thoroughly enjoying highlighting it. I hope you will enjoy it too.

(PS: There is an ongoing glitch in the playthroughs that feature the male MC - around Chapter 7 onwards, they appear to wear the female MC's diamond option nerd outfit. So...you're probably going to see two of my MCs wearing wonky glasses and ill-fitting clothes at some point in Book 2 🙈)
