I wanted to see if I could draw Liko as a Gen 1 character! 💙
Instead of just changing the art style, I tried following the trends of the era to create a whole new design that looked believable for the time. For example, her outfit is based on Squirtle instead of Oshawott in this concept. :>
[Update: She has friends now!]

...to be fair I do this while it's in sitting mode, too. Can't escape The Elbow Lean, RIP to my back.
ETA: before anyone says it, my vision is perfect, it's been checked, I'm just incapable of posture

Sometimes the video game hyperfixations both hit at just the right time to mash them together
This was SO FUN the hades portrait style is so interesting to imitate 😍
the background is a screenshot from Forbidden West and the placard is from the first Hades game

Been watching 2012 recently and decided that the best course of action was to draw a style swap. It didn't turn out nearly as disastrous as I thought! I also used their cannon heights and sized them accordingly. (Note: I tried to keep all of the boys design philosophies (as well as the styles philosophies) in mind when drawing, that way they looked like they actually fit with the style! I hope it came off well dufbdub I tried!)

So excited for how this turned out!
This is my piece for the @artists-guild-of-exandria Art History Style Swap. A masterstudy of Alexandre Cabanel's Fallen Angel, depicting Lucien at Cognouza. I've actually had this idea for a while, and this project finally motivated me knuckle down and do it. I love doing masterstudies when I have the chance. I always found 'The Fallen Angel' painting to be extremely compelling but I never had time to do any studies of it until now. The original painting is a beautiful and fascinating piece, and Lucien felt like the perfect subject for it. I loved getting to flex the ol' anatomy skills here, and going with a darker background then the original proved to be a unique challenge. Still not sure it works, but it definitely gives the piece a whole different feel, which I love.
