Discworld is so delightful because you get lines like "When banks fail, it is seldom bankers who starve" except it's spoken by a 7 foot tall sentient clay statue named Pump 19 and directed to a man whose name is Moist von Lipwig

me: gosh I don’t even remember what stimming I did as a little ASD kid, I know it wasn’t hand movements… did I even stim?
me: [currently bouncing on the yoga ball I got as an alternative desk chair] ……
me: nah, probably I didn’t

So you're telling me, after I finally got the laundry in the washer, I also have to wash the dishes? But that's it, right? They're clean forever after that, right? No more laundry, no more dishes ever again? Okay I'll be all right then I can do that much.

#Wait was he calling to complain about the partial eclipse#not being as dark as a total one?!
Sadly that is exactly what he was complaining about. Evidently he'd been in the path of the totality in 1979 and could not understand why it was different in 2017 when our city was at about 90%. It also took me a bit to figure out that he was complaining about the actual sun and not how badly organized the museum's viewing event had been, which lead to the most memorable part of conversation:
"Sir, did you call the museum to complain about the sun?"
"Well, you're a science museum, aren't you?"
He had me there.
someone just called the science museum to complain that this eclipse wasn’t as good as the one in 1979.
he wasn’t even a visitor, he was just mad about the eclipse not being visible without special glasses and wanted to complain to me about the eclipse “not being dark enough” for ten solid minutes

every single day I think about how american black vultures are known for engaging in allopreening (preening between different species)
and they have a specific relationship with crested caracaras, in which the black vultures assist them by not only preening them after meals but also leading them to food in the first place— due to their superior sense of smell— while the caracaras assist the black vultures by acting as a warning signal in case of danger
and while this is more typical of black vultures, this is not common at all for any member of the falconidae family— it’s a special bond!
yet another post in favor of vultures everyone , hope you enjoy:) and I implore you to do some more research on these incredible birds !!
