What's your opinion on Miles'personal tastes (his lovely jeep , clothing etc.)

his gay little jeep! i love his gay little jeep. i know red barrels probably didn't intend for it but the jeep wrangler is such a gay icon it amuses me (partially due to queer as folk's one episode, but also... i guess just in general?). also why is his parking so shit. why did he leave his keys in there. i guess all of that is between him and god. his hairspray is hilarious but also i will bully him for it. i think it's interesting that red barrels said in a tweet that he'd be self-conscious about his missing fingers, and in another message that he has fluffy hair. my conjecture is that he has fluffy hair he's self-conscious about for some reason, hence the heavy duty hairspray.

i love his jacket and i wish i could find a real life version of it. actually i kind of DID because a guy in a very similar jacket walked past me last week but i was too afraid to ask him where he got it. missed connections and opportunities, etc what else do we know that he likes... i think it's cute this idiot (affectionate) gets drunk and goes on late night internet deep dives. same bestie. i also remember red barrels saying he'd get fussed over the difference between shit like 'carport' and 'garage' and that's also very cute. miles "words have meanings!" upshur. HIS BUBBLE BATHS. that shit's adorable. man lives in clutter with red string link charts on the walls (from the comics) and takes self-care bubble baths every evening. if a woman wrote this dude in a fanfic people would call him unrealistic. we love him.

You guys probably foresaw this one being pretty full and you were right. Potential bingo here because seeing/writing him with a foil (usually Samus) is much more fun than him existing in a vacuum, but idk if that really counts as a "dynamic" bc there's comparatively little direct interaction in canon. In fairness, most of what I like about Adam is my own extended headcanons. I like my morally-grey Adam but that's purely hc/speculative, in actual factual canon the man has never done anything wrong in his life.

god i wish i wouldn't have to explain the intricacies of the neopets economy to you guys to give the full context for this but. the new neopets team that took over from jumpstart pledged that they were going to curb the inflation of rare items, which is great because a lot of rare items are worth literally hundreds of millions of neopoints, they are unbuyable unless you've been playing actively for 20 years. they did this earlier with a site festival that included random loot boxes, some of which had Unbelievably Fucking Rare And Precious items worth 200 million neopoints apiece.

well.

today they have gone a step further. by releasing this year's trick-or-treat bags. and having the trick-or-treat bags be stuffed to the brim with unbelievably fucking rare stamps, weapons, paint brushes, defense magic, and other unbuyables. (all prohibitively expensive and in-high-demand types of items.)

jellyneo, the premier neopets website, has recorded prices of some items plummeting from 2,000,000 neopoints to 4,000 neopoints IN THE LAST THREE HOURS. this is when most people haven't even heard about the event or OPENED THEIR BAGS YET.

and of course. cherry on top. 20-year-old account holders are crytyping on the site events neoboard about how mean and cruel it is to make rare stamps part of the prize pool, because their entire identity hinges on being part of the neopian bourgeoisie, and they are having MELTDOWNS over their assets being devalued until they're part of the lowly proletariat.

this is a children's game for children btw.

if you're interested, what do you think would be miles upshur's opinion of waylon if they ever met, or if he knew waylon was the one who sent the email that brought miles to mount massive? do you think there would be hostility or would they be chill?

(disclaimer: i'm not a camerashipper in any capacity, though i do draw and write it for my friends. also i do believe there's a passing reference of miles and waylon getting in touch in the comics after the events of mount massive, so i'm going to talk about them possibly meeting at mount massive itself instead) that's another thing i don't really get about the fandom though -- the hostility bit. i know a lot of people think miles is going to be pissed at waylon because waylon got him into the whole mess, but that feels like a reductive reading of miles' character, too -- he chose to go into the asylum, and i'm sure he's aware that the risk was on his own terms. it would have been a wholly different thing if waylon had invited him with zero information. he'd probably be pissed that waylon didn't tell him it was this bad, but... it wasn't that bad when waylon sent him the email. billy hope hadn't laterally ascended yet, the walrider wasn't on the loose. so if waylon does get to explain that, and what whistleblowing cost him, i don't think miles would begrudge him for it too much.

there's a wholly different problem though. i feel like miles is the kind of person who prefers to work alone because he doesn't find others invested enough in his cause, especially after being fired. he'd love allies, but i think he can also be a little hypercritical on that front. but in a way, waylon has already passed that vibe check. emailing miles came at a great price to him too; almost losing his life, his mind, and quite possibly his, uh, family jewels, and other things besides. he's been beat up and broken too, and he did it for the same thing miles broke into this place for, for what miles has wanted for years.

my opinion is. with all the trauma, pain-induced endorphins, and sheer terror singing through miles' blood when he meets waylon, a man finally dedicated enough to risk everything to bring murkoff's empire down, there's gonna be some cracks in miles' sense of self, in what he's built over the years because what is he if not devout to the cause. my opinion is, miles is gonna kinda be like. oh shit. this dude's hot.

woke up and someone spilled vanilla extract all over my dash, so as punishment you strange little beasties are getting all the VANILLA FACTS i know:

vanilla is the 2nd most expensive spice in the world (2nd to saffron)

which is why more than 99% of what we call "vanilla extract" is actually vanillin (vanilla's dominant flavor compound) and is not extracted from real vanilla.

luckily, even professionals struggle to tell the difference when it comes to things like baked goods. but there is a distinct difference in non-heat treated products like vanilla ice cream. real vanilla has a more complex, individualized flavor profile.

why is vanilla so expensive? because it is a ridiculously delicate & demanding crop. complete primadonna.

vanilla beans come from vanilla orchids. these crazy flowers bloom for A SINGLE DAY and have to be HAND-POLLINATED in a process that is exhausting, delicate, and requires specialist knowledge passed down over generations.

then, if you're lucky, you get vanilla beans.

which then require months of further specialized treatment.

the entire process takes about a year and can go wrong at any stage

vanilla has been cultivated for over 800 years (possibly much longer). the first known cultivators are the Totonac, an indigenous people of Mexico.

the Aztecs used it as a sweetener to balance out the bitter taste of cocoa. it was popular in a drink called xocolatl--the precursor to modern hot chocolate!

it is only pollinated by a very specific orchid bee!!!

which is why no fruit could be grown outside of Mexico until the 1800s

Edmond Albius, born into slavery, invented the pollination method we still use today--launching a global industry when he was just 12 years old.

today, the majority of the world's vanilla is grown in Madagascar

if you want real vanilla, read the labels carefully--it's harder to find than you think!

Thank you for doing ships! I've always wanted to have one done for me, so I'm truly greatful for the opportunity.

Level: Four (if you have the time and energy to do three ships that would be fantastic, but if not don't worry about it)

Basic things: I'm 5'1. I use she/they pronouns. I'm bisexual. I'm a capricorn sun, pisces moon, and cancer rising. Last but not least I am an INTP. Last minute addition I am Ravenclaw.

In depth info:

I can be described as independent, stubborn, intelligent, eccentric, and cold–hearted (as I have been given the nickname Ice Queen).

I get anxious and stressed pretty easily but I hide it well and try to move on if it's not too severe. I am very family oriented even if they get on my nerves. I find it very funny because I am one of my parents youngest kids, but have lived as the oldest in the house, and I'm the middle child of the youngest three. Essentially I have oldest, middle, and youngest child vibes.

I mimic others easily especially if I'm around them for a while. I have a fantastic sense of humor and am in love with puns and dad jokes.

My taste in everything is very all over the place. I like all music and will watch or read almost anything you put in front of me. I love to sing, read, play piano, learn, watch crime shows, and write.

I tend to be very quiet until I have known the people I'm around for a bit then I don't know when to stop.

I love animals and most often get along well with them. Pitbulls are my favorite dog breed and I will absolutely die on that hill.

I dress how I want when I want. For example one day I'll be in a very pretty dress and look fabulous then the next I'll be a disco girl and after that I'll look like the handsomest little guy there is.

I have a very keen sense for observation and try to be three steps ahead. I love to be prepared as it makes me nervous when I am not. I tend to predict how things will turn out and am very good at sniffing out who likes who (including myself).
