according to Suzuha, Christina works for SERN. I... doubt that. she might work for them in the future, though. I now know why Christina was hesitant about the whole memory-sending thing, too: she's worried her father won't like another success of hers. I really feel bad for her now. her dad should just eat his pride and accept her superiority. it's nice to see Okarin trying to be supportive. this is slowly becoming an acceptable ship for me.

i know people say episode 49 changes everything in regards to ryuki but im curious if the things ive already been spoiled for will still make it have the same impact
spoilers ⬇️
obviously at the point im at the concept of time loops have been introduced but i don't think im supposed to know it'll come up again or that i guess the other three main guys have also been looped (i think?) but i actually don't know any details past that. im trying to think if id expect it to come up again if id gone in completely blind and i guess maybe but it wouldn't be something i was waiting on
i know that yui is supposed to be dead(?) and tbh ive been assuming shiro's whole deal is kind of a steins gate christina situation for a while so that didn't really surprise me to learn. but again idk if that's something id have assumed if i didn't know about time loops already
i don't think i know anything else other than some character deaths but again time loops being in the mix has me like. is that in every timeline or just some of them
don't confirm or deny anything for me please other than if whatever twist is waiting for me in episode 49 is still going to blow my tiny mind or not

Steins;Gate, The Movie: Taking the genre from Thriller to Romance
Tumblr media
As a huge Steins;Gate fan, I completely undervalued this movie when I first watched it. Now, I’m realizing I might have undervalued this movie because I was such a huge Steins;Gate fan! Gone are the evil plots to take over the world, the thrills of escaping your enemies through time, and the mystery of not knowing who to trust (all pivotal elements in my love for the original series). But the movie never wanted those things. It replaces them with the simple story of Okabe disappearing and Makise having to bring him back and on second look its clear this is nothing short of a romance movie.
Neither IMBD nor MyAnimeList have the correct genre for this movie listed, which is insane considering how to a tee this movie follows the romance formula. The primary driving point of the plot is Makise and Okabe’s relationship: its what creates the central conflict “how can I live in a world without Okabe” and it provides the primary motivation for our main character “I can’t live in a world without him, because I love him”. One particular element I like is how the movie furthers their relationship from the series by having Makise understand all the hardships Okabe went through as she goes through it herself. Package it all up with a powerful force tearing the two lovers apart ala a classic Romeo and Juliet tale and you’ve got the recipe for a 100% pure romance movie.
But to just wax sentimental for a moment, I think my silly younger self that wrote this movie off because it wasn’t the Steins;Gate I knew missed the most powerful theme of the movie: this movie is about how we’ll never forget Steins;Gate. Okabe disappears from their memories the same way old anime slowly get replaced by the new and shiny weekly anime we consume so much of. But our characters still remember bits and pieces of the show’s and Okabe’s unique identity from Dr. Pepper to his poses. This movie is a send up to the unforgettable nature of Steins;Gate and I’m so happy I revisited it because my love for these characters transcends genre!

Steins;Gate Liveblog
so, I recently started watching Steins;Gate and tried looking for liveblogs to read as I get through it. I however failed to find any, so I thought: why don't I start a liveblog of my own? I'll have to start from ep 10, since that's where I'm at right now, but that's fine I think.
also I should mention that although I'm mostly unspoiled on this one, I did pick up some things. I know that there's an uncomfortable s/a scene for some reason, although for all I know, it might be exclusive to the og VN. I know that apparently two characters have the same VA and it's significant, but I don't know who those characters are or how exactly this is important (although I assume they're actually the same person or something like that).
I also have two running theories thus far. the first one is that Suzuha is from the future. I'm almost completely positive I'm correct on this one. I mean, come on. she doesn't know what corn, fireworks and I think one other thing look like. she's supposedly a soldier and nearly shat herself at the sight of a helicopter. when Okarin said he might be brainwashed, her first reaction was to check in his eyes for a chip. we literally know the future is a dystopia. she even explicitly said something about Christina not doing anything bad in the past? or was it about not meeting her in the past? either way, she mentioned the past, and that's ultra suspect.
the other theory I'm much less certain on, because it's pretty much half conjecture, half random guess. still, it's definitely making me insane. basically, the number that shows up whenever Okarin changes the worldline? I think that's the divergence percentage that Titor mentioned. this is mostly because it has to mean something, and thus far I don't know what else it could be. as for the crazy part? I went back, looked at all the appearances of this number and it's consistently getting smaller. if it really is the divergence number, then Okarin is getting further away from what should be his goal. even if it isn't, it has to be important. I'll be on the lookout for when it reaches 0, starts increasing, or both.
also, not a theory, but I feel bad for Okarin. I can't even imagine what he feels like right now. you did this to yourself, but I'm so sorry.
as for the tag, it'll be "chorsana watches steins;gate", but you can also just look for "steins;gate liveblog" on my blog. the different episodes will also have their own tags, formatted as "steins;gate ep <number>". lastly, the images will most likely have Polish subtitles on them. just ignore it. this is all I think.
