fell down the bookbinding/ficbinding rabbit hole two weeks ago, told myself to not just go all-in right off the bat (especially because i have a lot going on right now + the rest of this year!!), bought a kit to test out the process before fully committing, and i now have two large orders of materials arriving next week and have finished typesetting two fics and am about to start my third 😐
#why am i like this#i did the exact same thing with podfic lmao#it's kinda nice though because i enjoy doing podfics of fics that are under 20k words#and it seems like doing ficbinding for fics that are 20k+ words works best#so that's probably what my line drawn in the sand is gonna look like moving forward#i mapped out the rest of my year project-wise and it makes me sweat just looking at it lmao#but i'm one of those people that gets more done the more that's on my list to-do#sadly#also me: trying to figure out how to podfic & ficbind this massive project i'm working on that needs to be done before the end of the year#(the podfic at least)#me @ me: 😑#me @ me: stop adding voluntary shit to your plate!#and then my brain was like: ...what if you did 7 stargent podfics at the end of nov? kinda like your own stargent week...#lmao dear self: i do have to work my full time job#actually#personal#oh! editing to add that i also found out i'm probably going to have to have 2 outpatient surgeries before the end of the year#soooo that definitely means i will NOT have the time#but i try to tell myself that#and my brain is just like ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Peter can feel how much everything has been weighing on him lately. He can see it's been affecting Stiles just as much - the slumped shoulders, the bags under his eyes, and the lag in his reaction time all tell the same story. He decides to suggest an impromptu trip away from Beacon Hills. Maybe, once Stiles realizes how great it can be away from this hellhole of a town, Peter can convince him to leave for good.

Peter has seen the drifter around town. He's heard about him bouncing around from farm to farm, lending a hand where he can for some under-the-table cash and a dry barn to sleep in for the night. Argent's been taking time out of his busy schedule of harassing Peter about selling his farm to ask probing questions about the drifter. From what Peter can piece together, Argent had a run-in with the kid and didn't seem to like the mouth on him. Peter decides to see if he can find the kid and convince him to come work for him on his farm. He can appreciate a well-timed wise-ass remark, especially when it's directed at Argent. And, well... the enemy of his enemy is his friend, right?

My #1 post of 2022
I love fics where the authors are teenagers dabbling in writing or someone who speaks English as a second language or someone who is processing something through these characters they relate to.
I love fics where the author obviously cares SO much about canon or where the author has never even seen the original work but decided to dive in anyway.
I love when fic authors try to nail the character’s exact personality and habits and speaking patterns from the original work. And I love when fic authors say, “okay, but how would this character be different if this life changing event never happened?” or “how would they be different if they grew up in this very different universe with a different societal set-up?” And I love it when fic authors pick a character trait from canon and decide to zoom in and choose to view it through a microscope for a whole fic.
I just love all the different versions of fanfic that exist for us and all of the room that they allow fic writers to play with and all the different versions they share with fic readers and allow us to explore. 🥹🥹🥹

ABOUT STARGENT WEEK

FAQ
1. Who can participate in Stargent Week?
Anyone who wants to participate!
2. What can I make?
Whatever you want! Fic. Art. Gifsets. Videos. Podfic. Moodboards. Music. Interpretative dance. We want you to celebrate Stargent in whatever way you want!
3. Do I need to use the prompts?
Nope! The prompts are 100% options and are simply for inspiration or structure. Lots of people enjoy having a place to start when creating multiple fanworks, and it’s tradition to celebrate some of the popular tropes and themes in fandom. If the prompts don’t help you, then feel free to ignore them.
4. Do I need to write in English?
Nope, not at all! Whatever language you want to write in, go for it.
5. Do I need to participate every day?
Nope! Participate as much or as little as you want. Want to only create one day? Go for it. Want to create two things for every single prompt? Go for it! The goal here is simply to have fun while creating some new Stargent fanworks - no need to stress about it! :)
6. Does the work need to be completed?
Definitely not! Post your WIP. Only got a scene completed and you aren’t sure that you want to write the rest of the story? Tell us what we need to know in the summary or author’s note up top and just post that scene!
7. Do I need to post my work on AO3?
Nope! You can post it wherever you want!
If you want to post it on AO3, we do recommend you add it to the collection, just so it’s easier for people to find. You can find instructions on how to do so here. This year’s collection is called Stargent Week 2022 (Stargent_Week_2022).
If you want to post it on tumblr, we would love it if you tagged us (@stargent-week) and/or used the tag “Stargent Week 2022” so that we can reblog it!
