More often than he wishes, it's an effort to make conversation. He's never half as confident about what he says when the cameras aren't rolling. "They seem to think you'll back out tonight. Apparently we've got Tammy Wynette on standby."

virote's always been fascinated by floriography, mostly because his father's side of the family got a real knack for it as fortune tellers, psychics, etc etc. they use flowers in their divination arts. he knows that everyone hes met only recognizes floriography in a western sense, but there's some special flowers from his home country that he appreciates within the context of the culture....

marigold ( dao rueng ), which translates as ' glowing like a star ' can be given when you wanna congratulate someone... chrysanthemum ( benjamas ), which means the fifth month of the calendar. its name is not really all that auspicious, but the idea has been adopted from the general ideas across the world that it symbolizes longevity. so on and so forth...

one thing about vi is that he keeps yellow tulips in his kitchen. its a constant. like even if he's overseas or something for a week, one of the first thing he does is buy a bouquet of yellow tulips to keep in the window if he can find them. i used to have some metas about this somewhere on an old blog...

but anyway he likes yellow tulips in his living space. they're the flowers of hope, strength, joy. they also used to mean hopelessness and unreturned love so. lol. he keeps that in mind too.

between vi's personal taste and the inspired playlists i make for him, it's a lot of just niche. for playlists i make for vi like when i write / his pinned posts you'll find: miami / atlanta bass, jersey / baltimore club, breakbeat, jungle, liquid dnb, trip hop, dream trance, lofi house. on older playlists when he was younger you'd find city pop, jazz fusion, jazzhop, picopop, shibuya kei, deconstructed pop, nu disco, dreampop, chillwave, yacht rock but not really yacht rock i don't even know how to explain it.

as for virote, he's a 90s and 2000s kids thru and thru... he's also a former mall goth lol. and while he likes his pop and hip hop and rnb, he rly used to listen to nu-metal, visual kei, heavy metal, groove metal, industrial, and shamefully he loved him some rap rock like limp bizkit... but then his taste in that area evolved to that 80s goth, synthwave / darkwave type shit, witch house, new romantic, ebm.

[MENTAL CHATTER] Does your character have an ongoing inner monologue, or do they more frequently think wordlessly/in abstract?

Lupin thinks primarily in pictures, or movie-like scenes. He doesn't have a traditional 'inner monologue' with spoken words. I like to imagine his mental space looking like one of those corkboards you always see in detective or crime dramas, with photographs and post-it notes and various bits of evidence linked together with red string.

It's part of why his route-making during heists is so effective, because many of his mental strengths lie in visualisation and the ability to imagine things from different angles / where they are relative to an average person's line of sight. Once he has a single picture, he can expand it outwards and make some educated guesses about what the rest of the scene looks like and how best to get around in it.

What happens next... maybe it's for the best that Shy's bleeding too much to understand it.

Lorelei is there. Her hand is hovering over the back of Shy's head - just enough to slow the bleeding, just enough to keep her safe. A second later Lo has her phone in her hand.

"Hello, I have an emergency. My friend's bleeding from the back of her head. No, I got a text from her and came to see if she was okay, I don't know... yes, I'll stay on the line."

She gives the necessary information, then gently helps Shy to her knees on the ground, keeping her propped up on Lo's shoulder.

"It's gonna be okay. I'm not gonna let anything else happen to you until they arrive, alright?"

She's not expecting an answer, just focusing on Shy's breathing. She could bring her there herself, but... Lo knows Shy wouldn't accept that.

So she sits there, vigilant, until the ambulance gets there.

She's dead...there's no way she's alive. No way she survived that. This is a Jacob's Ladder situation where she's hallucinating vividly as her system shuts down. But then...why is it so real? And why is Lorelei there?

She's being spoken to, but Shy can't quite think to respond. Her glasses are still in the sink where they'd been knocked off, and it's hard for her to quite register what's even happening, but she knows Lo; she'd recognize that presence anywhere.

When she was a bit more with it, this was going to hurt, physically as well as emotionally, but right now, she'd be okay, as long as her friend was there, the string keeping her balloon from flying off.
