This event had a lot of high profile idols, along with new up and comers the industry had their eyes on. It was a good way to show the world that he still had what it took, and it had been a while since his pokemon last performed.

As he was preparing backstage, Reiji's attention was directed toward a reporter. He was no stranger to the press, and media in general sneaking into places they shouldn't be, so the reporter's visit didn't surprise him.

Pokemon Musicals aren't really Lupin's scene. As cute as the performers could be, he barely paid an interest to regular, human-led theatre as it is, much less the creatures' counterpart. But he's caught wind of a rumour that one of the idols here had commissioned a specially-made tiara, due to be unveiled whenever she next takes to the stage.

Naturally, the great Lupin the Third can't let such a rumour pass him by!

Unfortunately, he can't jump straight into the heist. Something like this takes weeks of preparation, of infiltrating the idol scene and wringing out each useful tidbit they had to offer. He has to know stage layouts, security schedules, escape routes. He has to prepare; has to flash his unexpected company a pleasant smile and a forged journalist's badge and go wherever the hand against his back urges.
