I would like to introduce the edgy stardew valley AU
                                       nobody asked for or wanted!!!!
                                         ~Stardust valley~
                                                         kill me
The premise is that the war that you hear about in the real game between the Ferngill Republic and the Gotoro Empire never happens, and instead the war between the dwarven and shadow people (monsters) explodes into a world war / apocalypses. All the monsters (and added demons for edginess) are fighting ferociously to kill all of the dwarves and now humanity to boot!
Tens of thousands of humans are killed a day by demons and thousands more stolen away by them only to return again as shadows themselves, fueled by their misery and anger they are driven to kill those they once fought side by side with.
Joja is giant war time conglomerate, Where all who are old enough must either work tirelessly at their dangerous factories or join the war efforts (which is virtually a death sentence at this point)
You are tired
So
SO
Tired
Tired of working and tired of being scared.
After a long backbreaking shift at the joja ammunitions factory you finally go home and find a package at your door.
The package has stamps from all over the country, seems to have been sent in the mail years ago and gotten lost?! You hurry inside with your package.
You rip off the paper and a old yellowing letter falls out, it’s from your grandfather! You two used to write all the time when the war started getting really scary and your dad was sent over; however one day he mysteriously stopped writing, you imagined it was because he died either of natural causes, or war causes.
The only thing written on the aged paper is “The last hope lies in stardust.”
This is very upsetting, either your grandfather grew senile in his old age or very nihilistic … or both.
You glance at the back and find a series of numbers scribbled in a barley legible font.
*sign*
Senile.
You reach inside the box and-
WHAT THE HELL??!??!?
There’s a huge ass sword in here!
Your senile grandfather thought it would be okay to send you a huge ass sword, during war times, THROUGH THE MAIL????
You cram the letter in the box and quickly toss it into your closet.
Oh god you don’t even want to know what would happen to you if the police caught you with something like that!
Later that week you’re having your five minute lunch break at work when you hear a group of your coworkers gossiping to each other.
Coworker1: “have you heard the horrible story that’s spreading in the schools??”
Coworker2: “huh? No, what story?”
Coworker3: “oh god you mean the one about, ah what was it??? Stardark? Stardoom????”
Coworker1: “stardust valley!”
Coworker3: “yeah that’s the one!”  Coworker2: “ah yeah, I think I’ve heard something about it. What was it again?”
Coworker1:  “basically they’ve made up something about how there’s a place called stardust valley and it’s a safe haven!”
Coworker2: “wha, yah mean like war free?”
Coworker1: “yeah, and that the people of stardust have the power to stop the war!”
Coworker3: “hmph! I better not catch Susie telling stories like that. I work hard to keep her safe, like the rest of us; I don’t need her thinking some fairy tale folk are coming to save her or nothing!”
The bell rings and it’s time to get back to work
Stardust… valley???
As soon as you get home you rummage the letter out of the box you stashed.
No way… how could you not have realized this before?! These numbers are coordinates!!!!
And so starts your journey to stardust valley!
Will you find answers to all this or will you find something else entirely?
