And look, we all know it. Christmas music sucks. It's unrelenting, crusty and dusty, and - if you don't celebrate - it feels like you're being bombarded by it. So we're not here for that.

The the theme for this playlist is: Winter

Very creative, I know. But winter is a deceptively big arena to play in - cold, lonely, often melancholic vibes. And a theme of closing the door - as one year ends, and the arbitrary demarcation of a new one approaches.

The other day I noticed a shop in my community bearing an Israeli flag on their flagpole. It bummed me out because I do business with them.

The day before, StaHHr was on a podcast saying she stood for Palestine. I posted about it to see if anyone felt strongly, maybe cause a temper tantrum or at least an outburst. Only a few people responded — all in support of Palestine.

It was a clothing dealer who summed it up best (and that is of no surprise, clothing dealers are among the smartest people alive — it's almost all profit once you pay for gas):

"The government of Israel is currently a racist fascist regime and has been amping up apartheid oppression of the Palestinians and have goaded Hamas into conflict. Their goal is the destruction of the Palestinian people and the expansion of Israel. They are currently committing atrocities in Gaza and bombing innocent families. Half of the people of Israel don’t support these actions. It’s very similar to divided American politics. I condemn the apartheid and genocide being committed by the Israel government and support the people of Israel who want no part of it. Unfortunately, there are many people who support Israel blindly due to past oppression and antisemitism, but I ask those people to look at the current situation in Gaza [and] explain how it is any different. Fuck fascism and fuck racism! Protect the innocent!"
