yet another svsss hill I'm dying on despite the apparent popular opinion — bingqiu would be great parents! give them a decade of peace and quiet to start healing from the trauma of.. everything and to get comfortable in the fact that their love and commitment to the other is reciprocated equally, and I can 100% see them wanting some little ones.

Shen Qingqiu overcame both his age AND gender to become Cang Qiong's resident milf in a matter of days after his transmigration. He's great with kids - as Shen Yuan he had a younger sister who he likely helped raise or was at least somewhat close with, he obviously loves teaching and doting on his disciples, he's immediately protective of random-abandoned-toddler!Binghe in the dream realm after escaping from the Water Prison, and obviously in the Return to Childhood extra he's (the only one) having a great time. you're telling me he WOULDN'T want a baby version of Binghe for real??

and as for Luo Binghe himself, the joke/argument I see most often is that he'd be jealous of the baby for taking his shizun's time and attention away from him. first of all, by the end of the novel, do you know how many times that man has died in his arms, pushed him away, or been separated from him in some other very traumatic ways, mostly while he was being influenced by an evil sword that amplified his worst intrusive thoughts? do you know how many people WOULD take Shen Qingqiu away, given the chance?! I think he deserves to be a bit paranoid!! but again, with a bit more distance and healing from his traumas, time, and reassurance that Shen Qingqiu really is staying, I fully believe he will mellow out in that regard. with that aside, Luo Binghe is a total mama's boy, he's a part-time emperor full-time housewife, and his greatest dream has always been to be a family with Shen Qingqiu. I don't think it's a stretch at all to imagine that someday in the future, he would want to grow that family with him too. and although we don't see him interacting with children in canon the way we do Shen Qingqiu, I cannot imagine him not loving his kids, a tangible result of their love, to pieces too.

trivia: i may have mentioned this place before but one of the only areas of the midsphel map i know exists for sure is a place called the giants thicket, which is a massive forrest bordering the edges of the central kingdom and relatively close to Wessport where mochi and lime grew up. oscars house borders parts of the thicket and thats where he goes and finds all his weird magic shit

anyway the giants thicket is generally known to be a very unsafe forrest due to it being a place of high concentrations of magic resulting in some pretty weird creatures/forrest spirits/magic beings etc. its eventually discovered by augurie that (surprise surprise!) the witch king is sealed deep underground in the heart of the thicket, and all the high magic concentration is a result of the seal growing weaker and weaker over the years

...and then we never heard from it again. This tree still confuses me!! I can't connect it conclusively to anything else, but there's such an emphasis placed on it that it feels like it has to be important!

The motif of a big gnarly tree being burned echoes the tree at Hilltop Road, so even though there are no spiders, something about it feels Webby - as does the way Fanshawe mentions it, says he wants to ask Albrecht about it, and then seems to completely forget about it...

...that's a very weak connection at best, when there aren't any other indications that the Web is involved with the Von Closens at that time and place. So what else could it be? Fire could indicate the Desolation, but that has the same problem of not being mentioned otherwise, plus just burning down one (1) tree doesn't really seem like its style to do, unless this specific tree means something;

Trees and fire are also reminiscent of Gertrude's protection circle from s1, though, again, that's Web & Desolation duking it out. The tree at HTR also seemed to be connected to Agnes' death in some way, she died when it was cut down. Maybe this tree is also protecting someone, but who? why? how? Albrecht? That makes no sense, at the very least unless "the Master" is referring to someone else, but that really just opens more questions than it answers!

Maybe the tree is meant to signify another 'rift' between worlds, and it links up to the vague implication that maybe the Von Closens seemed to be unable to get children in s1, but evidently had them later on. And maybe the bastard prince actually came through from another dimension as well.... However, that's still a very big leap to take just from one odd tree and two 'mysteries' that aren't really mysteries and didn't really need solving in the first place

I'd be curious to know if this was a plot hook for future episodes which never materialized into something more, or if I'm just missing something here. anyone else have a solid theory? @a-mag-a-day

do you think wc cats would eat mushrooms? im pretty sure the answer is no bc identification + possible toxicity. but i think it would be funky for the cats to learn over time that "bright colors = 99% chance you will die" and "hey if we cook this it doesnt make us sick!"

i think shadowclan could do some cool shit with chicken of the woods. + possible oyster mushrooms (bc beech trees i think), pennybuns and puffballs for TC. jellyears could be interestimg too since theyre a bit more gelatinous

I had kinda ruled them out earlier, because in any case, they wouldn't have nutritional value to the Clan cats. I wouldn't want to just make human cuisine, y'know? It should be cat food.

But I just did a little more digging since this prompted me. Huh. Apparently cats DO have a taste for certain mushrooms, because of the presence of glutamate. That's an amino acid found in meat, and it would give mushrooms a flavor cats can actually perceive.

Even saw a couple stories of cats coming into kitchens after smelling cut mushrooms.

A little more reading seems to say that most grocery-store mushrooms are fine for cats, and there's even some micronutrients that can be good for a cat's coat.

So I can definitely use some. I may even jot them down as a replacement for spices, since sooo many of the human spices in our kitchens are straightup toxic to cats (oregano, mint, onions). There's even some suggestions here in the guide I'm looking at to use them as soup stocks-- helpful since ShadowClan is going to be making stews.

SO I'm gonna say YES to this suggestion- I'll look at more mushrooms.

The front flower beds appear to be largely devoid of bulbs, so I suppose I can transplant a bunch there, but there are still so many, and gods know if I'll have the wherewithal to do all that planting.

new cabinets n storage space acquired, all my big cabinets n stuff r now also here, although i am still sad i wont be able to move the closet my dad built back in the day. He's doubtful he could take it apart without destroying it to like. get it out through the hallway n doors so I made him promise to never get rid of it. Claiming it.

I have a nightstand from grandma's place im gonna take, and I think there's still two like. quite modern design dressers that are brand new. So Im prob gonna get those too n put them in my bedroom for just. more storage. And in that way, at least some part of her can still see my new place.

The new cabinet things i got today also house the mirror i bought recently so i now also have a set space where i can trim my undercut and thats also helping me settle a lot. Just knowing I have a Spot for that now. I can start putting items n knick knacks n shit in their new homes. I can decide where they go. And if i dont like it i can just move it all around again.
