Have you thought about doing other stories within the universe of your Tumbling Down story? Like how Mumen and Sonic or Badd and Garou got together? Tumbling Down was Saitama and Genos' story but the bits given about the other two couples made me want more. Like what was the stuff Sonic was dealing with that Saitama mentioned not to mention a good boy like Mumen finding good in Sonic. Or what Badd and Garou saw in eachother when their both hotheads, did Zenko play winggirl for her brother?

OKAY SO

if I spent any amount of time on them, I tried to figure out a little bit of the characters' backstory. I don't know that I'd write them--I sort of like having them be just bits in the background, and it's tough to make such a longterm thing with ships that I like but I'm not as invested in--BUT

I can at least explain how it happened XD Mumen, Sonic, Badd, and Garou's stories under the cut <3<3

Mumen was still with his fiance May when TD started. His running into Sonic in "Window Shopping" was when they first met, and when Saitama said that Sonic wasn't causing trouble so long as he was with them, Mumen really took that to heart. He started tailing Sonic for as long as he could to stop him from stealing anything or hurting anyone. Sonic was PISSED at first, but it turned into just another thing he had to deal with...until Mumen followed him "home" and realized the ninja was living in whatever empty spaces he could. Sonic hated him knowing about that part of his life, but Mumen was horrified. It became a new part of his self-appointed mission--bringing food, water, sheets, etc., in hopes that if Sonic was more comfortable, maybe he wouldn't be desperate enough to do such awful things to get by.

Of course this is eating up a lot of his time, and while May's used to him being out a lot of the time, he's even more distant than usual. Not mean, but distracted. He's mentioned Sonic and she's getting suspicious, especially when he's running off at all hours to try and help him. She doesn't think he's cheating, at least not at first--he's way too honest for that--but then he comes home one day with a very different vibe and they need to have a talk.

It was after he nearly stayed the night with Sonic because he was real fuckin' sick. Mumen (very belatedly, honestly) realized that not only did he not mind taking care of him, he was excited to get to spend more time with him, in a way that had gone beyond what a good Samaritan or even a friend would do. He thought Sonic was funny and charming and passionate and weirdly innocent in his own outlandish way, and he wanted more of that. He *understood *it...and it was something he couldn't ever share with May. Mumen was attracted to him too, and Sonic seemed like he reciprocated (with the added danger that he didn't give two shits about Mumen already being engaged if it seemed like his heart wasn't in that relationship anymore). However Mumen is a Very Good Boy and he *wouldn't *cheat, so he needed to talk things over with May first before they did anything.

After a bit they realized they were more getting married because that was what they were supposed to do rather than what they truly wanted. While they did care about each other a lot, it wasn't in a romantic way. They split (I think Mumen left her the apartment), and Mumen told Sonic to move in with him when he found a new place. Around then was when Sonic started to seriously rethink his lifestyle. Being with Mumen in a stable home, taking care of and being taken care of by someone you really loved, having the opportunity to fall into a deep sleep without worrying that you're going to be found out or attacked.... It was all way too much and too tempting for him, and he decided he wanted to change. And that was pretty much it for them. Low and slow, with a bit of a dramatic start ;;;

Badd and Garou just follow the fucking trajectory set up for them in the manga honestly XD I mean they've already got chemistry up the fucking waZOO. They're already fully together when TD starts. For how they fell into it, though, I think they run into each other and fight, or one of them seeks the other out, and both of them being who they are don't care much about their pasts as long as they aren't shitty now. I think they might've had a full on fighting-to-fucking moment (or close to it). After that it was a puppy love ordeal where neither of them had dated before and they didn't know how to conduct themselves. Maybe they tried in vain to go about dating in the traditional way, only to realize neither of them had the patience for it and they'd much rather just violently fuck before getting a pizza. Truly boys being boys but like. In the sweet way XD

Zenko does get pissed off and tries to help, but they're kinda lost causes. She gets another big brother, though, and Badd--for fucking ONCE--is smiling more than he's frowning, so she's honestly ecstatic. She's SO HAPPY her brother found someone who makes him look that excited to come home from work every day that isn't just her and their cat.

Badd and Garou get a lot more flack for their relationship from the HA than any other couple, though, because Garou wreaked so much havoc so publicly for so long. It's impossible to frame their relationship in a way that won't reflect really poorly on the association. Amai is convinced if they're too open about it, it's going to look like the HA set up Garou's mission or that not even the S-class care that much about keeping the world safe from monsters, and they're gonna start to lose donations for a fund that's already not really cutting it. He's a lot harsher on them than anyone else. They're pissed but it doesn't really stop them. Garou lives with them, after all--no matter what Badd's coming home to him at the end of the night, and in the morning the whole family's gonna wander bleary-eyed into the kitchen for breakfast (kitty included).

G5 and Drive Knight? G5 could totally assume he's a fellow robot and immediately try to be besties or something. Also, a rare combination I saw on a fic a long time ago: Fubuki and Mumen Rider?

Mmm assuming G5 and Drive Knight are separate people, I could see them either being one of two things: bitter rivals or acquaintances. They both have that line wolf personality and have ulterior motives to their actions.

As for Mumen and Fubuki, personally I wouldn't ship it, mainly because I'm already set with MumenMaster haha. It's much like the Speedal ship and the Snek and Fubuki ship, which is kinda out of nowhere as well. That being said, ships will happen and if it makes people happy, then I say ship on. (Excluding the obviously gross ones)

Some opm fanfic ideas I’ve come up with thatIwishIcouldwrite ._.

1. Therapy! Maybe a bunch of heroes are pushed into taking therapy by the HA for legal reasons and it’s SO angst filled, what with Genos’ depressing past, Fubuki’s inferiority complex, Saitama’s depression, Metal Bat feeling pressure to be a good caretaker for Zenko, etc. Hey maybe in a Garou redemption take he ends up there too, taking in his childhood trauma. And everyone’s arguing like SHUT THE FUCK UP MY PAIN IS REAL and throwing stuff, meanwhile Saitama sits with Mumen (who I see needing physical therapy more than therapy therapy but coming there anyway to support heroes) and they drink tea and talk. Maybe eventually it mellows out and they can (sometimes) put their pride away to talk their stuff out, but Garou SWEARS he will kill anyone who talks shit on him!

2. Genos decides he can’t take it anymore and leaves to go find the Mad Cyborg cuz he knows he just can’t get strong like Saitama, even tho he doesn’t want to leave him. This has been done a bunch in fic BUT I rarely see any where Saitama goes with him! And maybe they like, go on adventures to get there and maybe over them, they grow closer, learn to speak to each other more, Genosai pining etc etc. oh and lots of camping together. When I imagine the end I always see like, either they find it and Genos almost dies but Saitama’s like no, we can do this TOGETHER and they punch it together, or a really emotional one where they find the cyborg’s corpse and Genos breaks down but admits he’s almost relieved, and yeah idk what else.

3. AA ok so I have three very self indulgent Au’s, I’ve talked about one on here and it’s kinda lame but I love the idea. K so, there’s this scene in A Star is Born with lady Gaga where she sings la vie en rose in a drag bar and when her and the main guy meet eyes they just!!instant attraction. So yeah my idea was that but Genos is a new drag queen at a drag bar owned by Fubuki and Saitama is a taffy puller at a candy shop (idk why I chose candy) with King and Mumen and Saitama goes to the bar for the first time cuz they’re promoting their candy there. And yeah lol it’s Genosai again, they start to hang out in and out of drag bars and for Genos, in and out of Genny, his dragsona (tho Genoko is way better now that I think about it). He has trust issues cuz shitty past etc and Fubuki takes him under her wing and they’re friends and she gives him advice. Oh and Sonic is a drag queen too, him and Genos are rivals, Tatsumaki owns a more popular bar and her and Fubuki have that sister rivalry, Garou and Badd work there as bouncers and mess with Genos all the time bc I love Shitty Teen Squad. Mizuki is a bouncer too :0 Also there’s Mizuki x Fubuki and Garou x Badd. Sonic x Mumen too I guess, tho I’m not as into that ship as before

4. My second self indulgent one oo boy. Soooo this is an au where everything is more monstrous, ppl are half or have become complete monsters, but more traditional ones usually, like Godzilla level kaiju, incubi, stuff like that. Except these monsters fit a teeny bit more into society, so there has to be something like a police force to get at em when they’re criminals but with heroes/detectives. Cue Genos and Mumen, totally BAD, SCARY eMO cop and goody🥳two😍shoes✨ good cop. One day they’re getting coffee or whatever when the whole place blows up, and while most people survived in wreckage, Genos notices-a monster! He chases after an incubus, and even rockets into the sky after him when he starts flying. Saitama’s like ow what the fuck, I didn’t do any of this I was just walking by! And Genos is like shut up scum >:( they take him in for questioning and learn he’s a super OP incubus (go figure) but he doesn’t have much of a sex drive and doesn’t “do the whole incubus thing.” Genos doesn’t believe him but Mumens like omg that must be so hard, have some more tea sweetie. Anyway Genos leaves it to Mumen and when he’s gone Saitama uses his convincing flirty powers to get Mumen to release him. He feels guilty about using his powers, he feels skeevy! But he really doesn’t wanna be there and escapes, Genos catches him etc and it’s a whole conspiracy all 3 of them have to figure out that actually goes super deep, also more Genosai lmaaoooooo

5. THIS IS MY DUMBEST ONE BUT I LOVE IT. Ok so Saitama is out walking in the woods one day and finds an abandoned cottage and he’s like oh sick. He goes back home but can’t get it off his mind. He keeps going back and fixes little bits of it here and there, really makes it shine and then Genos catches him and he’s like yo Sensei? Of course Genos takes the project super seriously bc Saitama is hardly ever interested in stuff so they get it done and pretty looking ridiculously fast. Then Saitama suggests like, living there every now and again for certain seasons. Genos says yes without thinking, and is floored by all the tender things he discovers come with cottage life, like a garden, taking care of little hurt birds and not accidentally hurting the house. He’s scared to tell Saitama but Sai eventually worms it out of him that he feels like he doesn’t belong, he’s so bulky and damaging to everything. Course Saitama feels awful for not realizing, hugs the shit out of him and apologizes. Then he gets the idea to help Genos feel like he can enjoy a simple life, help him hold animals, feed birds, etc. and Genos is like oh my GOD Saitama is too good to me 🥺🥺 and idk what else happens hhhh. anyway could be either established relationship or mutual pining, I like either for this story but the most IMPORTANT part is it’s full of cottagecore imagery and vibes or it’s not a simple cottage au, and I live by that. Anyway if anyone likes these and wants to use them then hell yeah! I can’t write to save my life, but please gimme credit 🧡🎃

speedal cooking together for the first time

Mumen had had absolutely no idea that Sonic could cook as well as he did, and when he asked if they could make dinner together one night, he nearly choked on his tea and asked, “Who are you and what did you do with my ninja boyfriend who was basically homeless because he was - was - a mercenary in his previous life?”

Sonic let the question roll past without comment, opting instead to start chopping vegetables at an obscenely fast rate while Mumen had to keep up preparing the strips of pork for the hot pot while juggling a large pot of broth, noodles and providing the whereabouts of several spices and herbs (and then getting several sneers and eyerolls when he didn’t have everything that Chef Sonic deemed necessary). 

As they sat down to eat at the small table in Mumen’s dining room, which had now been saturated by the fragrant dish, Mumen tried a bite and nearly moaned, “Dude, this is legitimately the best thing I have ever tasted and I -- what is Ino eating?”

Sonic glanced down at the floor, where the piglet was happily chowing down on a bowl of pork hot pot, shrugged and replied, “The same thing we are.”

Dinner was far, far too good to let that ruin it, although Mumen Rider made a mental note to talk later about how to avoid any repeat performances of Silence of the Piggies so long as they were living together.

So I have a drag queen Genos + candy maker Saitama au that I’ve been planning out since I watched the drag bar performance scene in a Star Is Born with Lady Gaga, since the chemistry in that scene inspired me in the first place (also that movie??? Amazing), so if anyone is interested in hearing about it,,, cuz, y’know,,,it’s pretty gay....

Do you have any headcanons for Sonic and Mumen interactions pre and/or post-Sonic-chilling-the-fuck-out arc? I feel like they’d be friends ajjdbrbfbf

Bro Mumen would be such a positive influence for Sonic and I live for it.

I can see their friendship taking serious time to develop because Sonic is a man who doesn’t trust anyone, first of all. But Mumen is so genuinely good it’s hard to look past that. He eventually becomes someone who Sonic feels comfortable enough with to just talk to, about anything that’s on his mind.

Pre all that I imagine the interest starts when Mumen helps him out with something. Maybe he was injured or just exhausted. Sonic being that super “I don’t need your help” kinda edgelord but is really surprised at the selfless kindness that this random stranger gave to him. And they only really meet again when Sonic comes over to Saitama’s house (because listen. I’m weak for those two becoming friends too. bls.) and sees Mumen there. It’s probably super awkward on Sonic’s part but eventually realizes there’s nothing restricting him from just relaxing.
