These doodles started off with my thirsty ass wanting to draw Propeller being Handsome Again, then delved into also Hot Sexy Specter Knight before delving into my liquid samurai OC, Usagi, who is eternally grateful to be working for her Lord Specter while simultaneously (but respectfully) shitting him for his lack of cultural knowledge of his heritage with all the Asian guilt she's willing to dish out on him.

How does the SK cast handle tax season?
Interesting question! Hopefully this answers your concerns about the Shovel Knight world's tax season, Shoveler!
• Shovel Knight: Deals with it normally, as in, begrudgingly.
• Plague Knight: The IRS does not go anywhere near the Explodatorium.
• Specter Knight: Specter Knight is actually still alive, just slowly rotting. However, he's still a thief at heart, and he swears to the IRS that he is undead and therefore doesn't have to pay taxes.
• King Knight: King Knight creates taxes… that nobody pays. He pays someone to do his own self-made taxes in an attempt to convince people to pay his taxes, however, this fails miserably and he only loses money as a result.
• Shield Knight: Shield Knight is a repeat tax evader. Sometimes Shovel Knight tries to convince her to pay taxes, but she is often too busy adventuring or being the Enchantress to care.
• Black Knight: Black Knight pays his taxes, and does it competitively, attempting to pay twice as much as Shovel Knight does.
• Propeller Knight: Propeller Knight is a sky pirate, and thusly the IRS has a hard time catching the Flying Machine, since it can, y'know, fly.
• Mole Knight: Mole Knight is actually happy to do his taxes and has even taught his moles how to do their taxes.
• Treasure Knight: He's rich so he takes as many tax breaks as legally possible. Treasure Knight also does all of the Order's taxes. One of the few people who actually understands taxes.
• Polar Knight: Polar Knight does not understand taxes, and nobody, not even Treasure Knight, is bold enough to ask him for his taxes.
• Tinker Knight: He takes advantage of tax write-offs for business expenses most of the time, but he doesn't use any legal loopholes and does everything inside the system.
• Enchantress: The IRS does not go to the Tower of Fate anymore.
• Baz: The Baz does not have income and therefore does not have to pay any taxes.
• Reize: Dependent. He doesn't pay taxes.
• Mr. Hat: Mr. Hat is a wanted criminal and thusly he also doesn't pay taxes.
• Phantom Striker: Phantom Striker is retired and lives off of his pension, but he still does a good turn and pays his taxes.
• Mona: She begrudgingly paid them in secret, making sure that Plague Knight did not know. After the destruction of the Tower of Fate, everybody realized forcing anyone who is associated with Plague Knight to pay taxes is a horrible idea, and thus she no longer pays her taxes.
• Dark Reize: He does the Enchantress's taxes for her. Willingly.
• Goldarmor: Goldarmor has a lot of tax write-offs but does theirs normally.
• Dragonarmor: Like Goldarmor but cooler.
• Liquid Samurai: They all file their taxes together in perfect synchronization. They also joint file.

So I had an idea for Leoichi: what if Samurai Rabbit actually takes place in the Rise universe a few hundreds years into the future? And the turtles all get pulled into the future by the Keystone?
Here me out for a sec! The Samurai Rabbit series takes place about 1000 years into the future from Usagi Yojimbo. After searching how long the Edo Period was, it would mean Samurai Rabbit takes place somewhere between 2603-2867. And with how powerful the Keystone really is, I wouldn't be suprised if it was also able to create a rift in time as well.
Here's a possible way of Leo and Usagi to meet (I haven't thought the entire thing through so this is just a concept): Usagi and Tetsujin are probably messing with the Keystone, trying to see what else it could possibly tell of the past; perhaps it could see into more recent events and time. Usagi does *something* and it causes the Keystone to glitch out.
Either a portal appears or random spectors pop out of the Keystone similar to when the yokai were released (only the specters would be people from the past being pulled into the future). So it's up to Usagi and the team to find them and take them back to their own time. Along the way, they meet another crime fighting team... one with a really cute turtle in a blue mask as the leader...

Cryas Darkstalkers Cast Bits 2
Check this out to see some information regarding some of the other characters I discuss about:
With that said, time to get into some more characters. Again, just some brief enough notes about each major character and their role in Cryas Darkstalkers.
Bishamon:
Same general backstory he has in the main timeline. A samurai who unfortunately fell prey to the temptation of the demon armor Hannya and demon sword Kien.
For decades, he went on a rampage throughout Japan, causing mass terror to the innocent civilians of Japan. Valiant warriors tried to stop this rampaging demon but would merely be more sacrifices to the bloodthirsty specter.
At some point in the late 1700s, he would have learned of the lands of China. Learning that such a landmass was far bigger than Japan, the demon relished the thought of oceans of blood and souls flooding the lands, ready to be consumed.
His activities would eventually reach the ears of Hsien-Ko and Mei-Ling, who would eventually track down and confront the heinous samurai from the east.
In essence, Bishamon would serve as the real first big threat the sisters would face in their journey, especially after they finally got a good feel as jiangshi warriors.
While it is a difficult battle as the samurai is quite skilled and empowered by the souls it has consumed, the sisters would prevail with their combined skills, tactics, and powers.
Upon defeat, the demon armor and blade lose control of their host, releasing Bishamon's soul. While the sisters are prepared to destroy the spirit in front of them, they would be stopped by Bishamon's wife, Orin. She too is a spirit, having cast aside her body to continue clinging to the mortal realm in order to find a way to free the man she loved.
Bishamon is found out to be fully aware of what has happened during his time under the control of Hannya and Kien. He wishes to repent for his failure to resist the temptation of those two caused the deaths of countless lives.
The four would eventually seal the cursed armor and blade in a special tomb per Mei-Ling's design. Bishamon and Orin vow to make sure none would tamper with the tomb so no one else would fall to the temptation of Hannya and Kien.
From then on, the couple would seek to work together to cleanse Bishamon of the sins that weigh heavy on his heart and soul.
Bishamon and Orin are basically the first allies the sisters make.
Pyron:
Serves as a major villain during the time frame that serves as the Vampire Hunter part of the mythos.
He is still an alien that was born on the planet Hellstorm. His evolution leads him to become an energy-based lifeform that takes the form of a living flame.
While he initially reveled in his self-proclaimed ascension to godhood via consuming his home world and traveling the cosmos to seek strong warriors and worlds to consume and fuel him, he eventually grew bored as he didn't get to have a good challenge.
Being a warrior at heart, while he did like to win, he more found pleasure and meaning in life via a rousing battle. Even when he limited his powers to be on equal footing with the many warriors he fought, he wasn't given the best showing and still triumphed.
In a sense, I see Pyron like a Saiyan. What he wants is a good fight. His godhood was more of a hinderance as he was the most powerful. But by being the most powerful, he had no worthy foes. Thus, his life lacked meaning. While he had bouts of dread over the prospect of no worthy battles, he would never allow himself to wither away. The only way he would die is via in battle.
I still have it so far that he did visit Earth at one point. However, I am not sure when he will in my mythos. Certainly, it would still be far in the past, but I am not feeling the time of the dinosaurs.
He is far more vulnerable to magical based attacks.
Jedah Dohma:
Serves as a major villain for the time frame of Cryas Darkstalkers that would be the Vampire Savior aspect of the story.
He actually has two people that were confidants of his. Ozom, like the original timeline, and now Sierra de Gilman.
Ozom is still a conniving, power hungry manipulator that eventually gets Jedah killed via a ploy he manages to play on Jedah. However, it will not be involving the Gate as the idea of that is different in Cryas Darkstalkers.
Sierra is a noble of the House of Gilman. She is an intellectual and philosopher. She actually forges a genuine friendship with Jedah as they have many discussions about the nature of Makai, political affairs, the future, their interests, their thoughts about various subjects, and doing what they can to assure their lands were kept in high spirits.
Jedah has the ability to hear souls. He has explained that souls give of special sound waves that sound like a song. In this way, he can learn about the individual, such as their lives, abilities, and aspects.
Jedah has noted of a very dull humming sound that he has never been able to pinpoint. It has come at random intervals and appears to be the hum of a soul.
His body is still that of a special, sentient liquid. With this, he can perform many physical alterations to his form for appearances, offense, and defense. The form he presents himself in is one of his choosing.
His traits and abilities are linked to his ability to wield souls. The more he can absorb, the more powerful he can get. While many beings can do this as well, Jedah is unnaturally gifted in this aspect.
Physically, he is not the mightiest. His magical abilities can become quite potent. His ability to manipulate his blood to create many forms of weaponry and attacks are incredibly versatile. However, what makes him a truly dangerous individual is his godly ability of regeneration thanks to his ability to utilize souls efficiently and his liquid body.
He plans out his goal far more carefully and thoughtfully in this mythos. In a sense, you could say he is stronger in this mythos due to not basically bum rushing his plans.
The Soul Bees still serve as minions for him in order to help carry out his plans.
Q-Bee:
She, along with her race, will get major redesigns. I am not a fan of the design she and the Soul Bees have.
'Q-Bee' is just a title. As for an actual name she has, she doesn't have one.
At the time of Jedah's revival and eventual creation of the Majigen, the current Q-Bee is a marvel of rapid adaptation. During Ozom's reign of the Dohma Lands, he nearly drove the Soul Bees to extinction. This triggered some drastic changes in the mindset of Soul Bees. While they are primarily driven to eat, reproduce, and survive, the ones who become the Q-Bee of the hive would slowly gain better intelligence over the decades of his reign.
While Q-Bee is not an intellectual, the one during the events of the Majigen has the ability to better plan things out for the survival of her race beyond instinctual reproduction and consumption.
While she serves Jedah, she only does so out of necessity and to ensure the survival of her hive. However, she and her Soul Bees are grateful of the chances for more meals under his command.
Under Jedah's orders, she and her fellow Soul Bees eventually lead to the death and consumption of many of the servants and families of the Noble houses. The only exceptions are Morrigan, Demitri, and Sierra.
Q-Bee rarely ever speaks using 'I'. Instead, she commonly uses 'we' or 'this one'.
I am so far thinking of potentially 3 different types of Soul Bees. Q-Bee, the largest of the Soul Bee race that have the capability to reproduce and are the most capable in combat. P-Bees, smaller Soul Bees that aid in the care of young Soul Bees, along with maintaining the hive. P-Bees can still fight as well and are not to be trifled with. Then I would think there are smaller Soul Bees that basically serve as Drone-like Soul Bees. They merely exist to serve the Q-Bee in combat. I'll figure things out more.
Lilith:
She probably has one of the biggest changes in Cryas Darkstalkers in regard to how her story goes and motives. Brace yourself for some big notes because I have given a lot of thought to Lilith as she is a big player during the time of the Majigen stuff.
Lilith is still born as a Soul Shard, one of the thirds from Morrigan's Soul. In a small pocket dimension of Belial's creation, this fragment of Morrigan's soul was left to basically rot, away from Morrigan. However, because Morrigan's soul was rather abnormally strong, even a third of her soul was able to do unusual things, beyond the fact that Morrigan even survived the soul shattering with no ill effects. Because this happened when Morrigan was young, the soul had cloudy fragments of Morrigan's memories that played effectively at random and on loop. This goes on for centuries, this shard only 'awake' for intervals to recall these memories. Not only that, to just be 'aware' that it was still around.
Lilith is found by Jedah still, but things are different regarding circumstances and why he allowed her a body. As Jedah was creating the Majigen, in the boundaries of the void, he heard the faintest sound of a soul. Upon discovering it as he realized the odd place it was in, he realized it was just a shard. By listening to the soul shard's broken song, he realized that it belongs to Morrigan. But the odd thing was this shard somehow had a sense of self awareness. Broken and primordial, but the fact it had a sense of knowing it existed was remarkable. Here is the difference: He only gave the shard a body in a strange sense of both mercy and curiosity. At the time, he had an argument with the only other being that was a friend to him. A close confidant. Unlike Ozom however, she never backstabbed him. However, she (Sierra) was against Jedah's plan and told him to reconsider, especially as Belial was out of the picture. But he refused. Despite his plans meaning she will also become one as well, he gave her a chance of mercy to live out her remaining time as an individual, unlike the other nobles who had already been slaughtered and sacrificed to the Shintai (except Morrigan and Demitri). In a fleeting moment, he allowed this shard to have a chance to experience life, even if fleeting.
In Cryas Darkstalkers, Lilith doesn't seek to return to Morrigan. The idea I am going with Lilith is basically like the Replicas in Kingdom Hearts, a subclass of Nobodies. To put it simple, Nobodies are beings without hearts…initially. They have a body and soul but lack hearts. However, they in time would develop new hearts as they would begin to forge new bonds and create memories. In time, they become whole once again. In this case, this is what I am going for with Lilith. In essence, she isn't a succubus. She is effectively a Soul Shard. She has no soul of her own initially, just a body and mind. But in time, something would start to trigger in her. However, this doesn't mean she still doesn't seek Morrigan. She seeks her for different reasons this time about. See after she was given a body and was with Jedah for some time, as she dreamed and her mind began to solidify, she then could truly wonder about this girl she would see in her dreams. Jedah never answered her, merely telling her they were just her having lucid dreams. But Lilith didn't accept this. In time, she would leave Jedah as she got fed up with not getting an answer. She needed to know because for her simply, she doesn't know who she is. She only can vividly remember meeting Jedah, him telling her the name she has, and that she was wondering around in a daze till he found her and nursed her to good health. She thinks this girl holds the key to who she is. Upon meeting Hsien-Ko, Mei-Ling, and Caisla (OC of mine, will explain at a later day) in the Majigen as she wondered around, the sisters would think the girl she is seeing in her dreams might be Morrigan. That is Lilith's catalyst to join with the trio, along with the fact they were willing to help.
The body she initially has is at the mercy of Jedah. Her body was the amalgamation of part of his blood and part of the shard's power. His magic and what the shard had is what keeps her body together. At any moment, Jedah could just end her if he so wishes, but he chooses not to. However, his death would result in the collapse of her body, which isn't discovered till it is too late.
She has a familiar in the form of a bat made of energy. Unlike Morrigan, she treats this bat like a friend and is very close to them. This bat familiar is eventually named Ori.
No, she doesn't use the last name 'Aensland'.
Huitzil:
In Cryas Darkstalkers, both the name Phobos and Huitzil are used.
Phobos is the name of the robots that Pyron commands.
Huitzil is the name given to the last remaining Phobos unit in existence. He is named by the homeless Mexican boy, Cecil.
He follows the kid as when he was found amidst some rubble by Cecil. Somehow, he causes the Phobos to become active. However, their memory has been heavily damaged, and they lack a master to listen to. Upon seeing the child and eventually running diagnostics and calculations, the unit makes the decision to follow the child as its new servant.
Overtime, Huitzil and Cecil form a genuine bond close to that of brothers.
They get wrapped up in the events of the Majigen because a portal opening in Mexico near them allowed a Soul Bee to take the child as a snack. Huitzil would follow the kidnapper in order to save Cecil and exterminate the Soul Bee. However, they would wind up stuck in this strange realm.
Hoo boy, quite a lote. That is all for now. As always, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me! I'll be back in time with more bits of lore and stuff. 😎✌️

Best Underrated Anime Group D Round 3: #D5 vs #D6
#D5: Three brothers work together to stop an ancient evil
#D6: Most adorable-dork villainess in dating game isekai
Details and poll under the cut!
*D6’s tagline has been changed.
Tumblr media
#D5: Laughing Under the Clouds (Donten ni Warau)
youtube
Summary:
In the 11th year of the Meiji Era, the end of the samurai shogunate and the prohibition of swords has left Japan with lasting scars. Displeased by these recent changes, many former samurai plot against the new government, inciting a wave of bloodshed. To counter this movement, the government constructs a colossal prison in the middle of Lake Biwa.
Unofficially assigned to help the police arrest criminals, Tenka Kumou also serves as a ferryman to the Lake Biwa prison with the help of his two younger siblings: the ambitious Soramaru and the enthusiastic Chuutarou. Together with the former Fuma ninja Shirasu Kinjou, the Kumou brothers live a frugal and joyful life mostly dedicated to studying and training.
However, behind this relatively uneventful daily routine, the specter of the “Orochi” curse is starting to spread its shadow over the city of Oumi. According to legend, every three hundred years, Orochi reincarnates in a human vessel—and it is believed that this is the harbinger of an imminent catastrophe. As various groups clash in search of Orochi’s vessel, some aim to seal the curse, while others have darker plans in motion.
Propaganda:
I found this series absolutely entrancing when I originally watched it, the portrayal of the characters and themes is really interesting to watch.
It tells a fantastic story about trying to defeat a legendary evil that can corrupt those around it to do its biding, all the while mixing in comedy and really heartfelt moments between family. For a 12 episode series they did a really good job of tying up any loose ends and finishing the plot, some things could have been expanded upon a bit more, but for what it is they producers did a wonderful job.
The series might not be the most groundbreaking anime ever, but it does have some lovely moments and explorations of its characters. I really like the themes of family, and wanting to do anything you can to help the people you love, it’s always nice to see and I think it’s done really well in this anime.
Trigger Warnings: Graphic Depictions of Cruelty/Violence/Gore, Suicide.
Tumblr media
#D6: My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! (Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei shiteshimatta…)
youtube
Summary:
Most people would prefer being the protagonist of a world full of adventure, be it in a game or in another world. But, unfortunately, a certain girl is not so lucky. Regaining the memories of her past life, she realizes that she was reborn in the world of Fortune Lover—one of the games she used to play.
Unfortunately, the character she was reincarnated into—Catarina Claes—is the game's main antagonist, who faces utter doom in every ending. Using her extensive knowledge of the game, she takes it upon herself to escape from the chains of this accursed destiny.
However, this will not be an easy feat, especially since she needs to be cautious as to not set off death flags that may speed up the impending doom she is trying to avoid. Even so, to make a change that will affect the lives of everyone around her, she strives—not as the heroine—but as the villainess.
Propaganda:
This show is so much fun. The protagonist is a lovable girl himbo, who is completely oblivious to everyone around falling in love with her. It’s a bit of a harem anime, but with equal opportunities: the girls are just as enamored with the main character as the guys are. The increasingly dumber ways in which she thinks she’s going to meet her doom (she is supposed to be the villain of the story, after all) are a delight to behold.
Trigger Warnings: Incest, Rape/Non-Con. The main character gets assaulted like two or three times, but it’s not graphic. One of these instances, where a kiss is forced on her, is by her adoptive brother, who is also her cousin, who is one of her main love interests.

I think watching Michiko and Hatchin is really helping me solidify my ambivalence toward the Shinichiro Watanabe style. Like, this is a damn well-made show, always looks fantastic, clear vision behind it, saying everything it needs to, communicating its ideas perfectly... and it just doesn’t click with me that much outside of a few particularly strong moments. It’s exactly the same kind of feeling that Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo left me with to varying degrees. And I think it’s worth digging into that a bit and unpacking why Bebop Ennui, as I’m going to call it from hereon, is something I don’t jive with.
See, what defines Bebop Ennui across Bebop, Champloo and now this show is that they’re all stories about loss, longing and absence. Characters are defined by the holes left in them by time and tragedy, from the various lost loves of the Bebop crew to the long-gone regrets of Champloo’s team. And most importantly, these are losses that can never be recovered, no matter how hard the characters might struggle. Spike loses Julia mere minutes after finding her again. Faye can only ever connect with her past life through the videos she left behind. Fuu and Mugen can only see their loved ones again once they join them in the land of the dead. If these characters are ever able to find peace, it’s by forging new bonds with the new people who’ve come into their lives, not by clinging to old ghosts as a security blanket. And it’s never guaranteed they’ll be able to move on before their helpless yearning finally drives them down a path there’s no recovering from.
This is the driving animus behind pretty much all of Michiko and Hatchin’s adult characters. Michiko is chasing Hiroshi, a love she hasn’t seen for over a decade, in hopes of reclaiming a nostalgic perfect life that may not have even existed. Satoshi as well could only feel like himself with Hiroshi, and his desire to find his old friend whatever the cost is what eventually leads to his doom. Atsuko, meanwhile, is hung up on Michiko herself, almost losing everything in pursuit of their fractured friendship despite trying to convince herself there’s nothing left between them. They’re all chasing specters of the past that can never come back, and only those with the strength to let go and move on are able to come out alive. But as Hatchin throws in Satoshi’s face, what makes that so hard is that most people can’t handle being alone. They’d rather chase the specter of something they once had because the second they let it go is the second they admit how empty their lives have become. So they keep racing forward, against the current, borne ceaselessly into the past. Jay Gatsby would be proud.
This sense of chasing what’s gone in vain is at the heart of Bebop Ennui. Adults broken by what they can never have again, reaching for it to escape their current misery until they either find the strength to run away or let it carry them into the abyss. It’s not hard to see why these stories speak to people, or why they’re so beloved. But for whatever reason, that kind of angst just isn’t something I connect with. Maybe it’s the Aspergers in me, maybe living in an online generation has removed the sense that I’m ever truly alone, but I find little that speaks to me in this conception of adult loneliness. I’ve never really had problems with relationships fading away over time; I stick with the people I want part of my life, I let go those who don’t click with me, and I accept when something I once shared with someone is finally over. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve had plenty of struggles over my long journey into adulthood, but accepting change and letting go has never been one of them. So as well-made as these shows are, they just don’t reflect my own experience with the world in a way I can easily relate to.
I guess my point is, it’s not Michiko and Hatchin’s fault I’m only enjoying it a moderate amount. I just don’t gravitate towards stories like this, no matter how well executed they are. I can still appreciate the craft, it’s just never going to be something that really sticks with me once it’s over.

Vote for the Best Sims Character!
Olive Specter VS Captain Whitaker
Tumblr media
Olive Specter, hasn’t always had the best of luck. She’s a many-time widow (with husbands including Rigger Mortis and Ichabod Specter) and was even left at the altar by Earl E. Demise (hm.. that’s a unique name) but Olive has a dark side, many players theorise she’s actually a m*rderer, and k¡lled her many husbands…
Captain Whitaker is a ghostly dog who haunts (in the best way) Brindleton Bay. His name may be a reference to Forest Whitaker who played the titular character in Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai (1999) Captain Whitaker has learned one trick… play dead…

The Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright Timeline
The title’s a little misleading. This is a timeline of the Professor Layton and Ace Attorney games that brings them together so Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright can exist in the canon. For the unaware -- it’s not very obvious when the Layton games take place, but most people place it around the mid-1900s, around the ‘60s for the main games. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney canonically takes place in 2016, which is established from the one (1) canonical date of DL-6 happening in 2001. Thanks for that, Capcom.
I used the Ace Attorney wiki’s timeline as well as been_there_pun_that’s timeline of the Layton series as resources to base my own timeline of events upon, the latter of which has been rendered slightly inaccurate by the anime (especially with regards to Katrielle) but the rest of which is solid.
The base assumption of this is that Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright takes place in November 2018, after The Stolen Turnabout but before Furio Tigre impersonates Phoenix Wright. I use American names for the PL games for simplicity’s sake, and LBMR is ignored on this timeline because I barely know anything about this game. (Katrielle’s birth is on here because I know she was born when Luke was fifteen, and that’s the extent of what I know about her.) Major spoilers for Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy (Layton backstory related), and minor spoilers for Investigations 2 (the case number of a certain inciting incident). Minor spoilers for the rest of both series as well, and major spoilers for Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright.
Most of the events here are the major events of each game. I included Phoenix Wright and Layton’s births in the timeline, which is why this contains Azran Legacy spoilers at the start. This is incomplete on purpose; there are a lot of events over the course of all the games, so I narrowed my focus a lot. I decided to include the inciting event of Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright because well...it is a timeline designed to make it compliant with both series. :)
I moved Professor Layton up rather than moving Ace Attorney back because the technology level in the London of Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright is closer to that of Ace Attorney than of Professor Layton. (Maya and Phoenix are flying in a plane in their first cutscene, for instance, and Carmine Accidenti’s car is more modern.)
1982: Hershel Layton is born.
1986-ish*: Targent targets Leon and Rachel Bronev, leaving Hershel and Theodore Bronev alone. Roland and Lucile Layton adopt Theodore Bronev, thinking that he’s Hershel Bronev, and renaming him Hershel Layton.
1992: Phoenix Wright is born.
1999: Hershel Layton and Randall Ascot go on an expedition into the Azran ruins. Randall falls and is presumed dead.
December 2000: IS-7 incident begins.
December 2001: DL-6 incident takes place.
2007: Espella Cantabella and Eve Belduke climb the bell tower and ring the bell. The Great Fire happens.
2009: Hershel Layton becomes a professor of archeology at Gressenheller University. Claire dies in the time machine explosion. Labyrinthia is established to conceal Espella and Eve’s memories of the bell tower.
2012: Events of Turnabout Reminiscence (Miles Edgeworth investigates his first case)
2013: Events of Turnabout Beginnings (Miles Edgeworth and Mia Fey make their court debuts)
2014: Phoenix Wright’s trial for the murder of Doug Swallow (Turnabout Memories)
2016:
Events of Professor Layton and the Last Specter take place (either during spring or summer)**
Events of Professor Layton and the Eternal Diva take place (must be after Last Specter)
August: Larry Butz’s trial for the murder of Cindy Stone (The First Turnabout)
September: Maya Fey & Phoenix Wright’s trials for the murder of Mia Fey (Turnabout Sisters)
October: Will Powers’s trial for the murder of Jack Hammer (Turnabout Samurai)
December: Miles Edgeworth’s trial for the murder of Robert Hammond (Turnabout Goodbyes)
2017:
February: Lana Skye’s trial for the murder of Bruce Goodman (Rise from the Ashes)
June: Maya Fey’s trial for the murder of Turner Grey (Reunion, and Turnabout)
September: Maggey Byrde’s trial for the murder of Dustin Prince (The Lost Turnabout)
December: Maximilian Galactica’s trial for the murder of Russel Berry (Turnabout Big Top)
Sometime in 2017***: Events of Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask take place.
2018:
January-July (tentatively): Events of Professor Layton and the Azran Legacy take place.

*There isn’t an exact age given for Layton at the time he was adopted, just a “more than 30 years ago”, and given that Azran Legacy takes place when he’s 36, he had to have been less than that at the time, but old enough to retain some memories (while they remain repressed). been_there_pun_that puts Layton at 4 at the time of his adoption, which makes sense to me, so I put it down as four years after his birth, but it could ostensibly be 1987 as well.
**Misthallery is very green, so the seasons haven’t taken effect.
***Monte d’Or is in a desert, so I have no clue what season it could possibly be. Fucking Azran messing with the weather and making my life harder :P
Events of Azran Legacy take place over a longer span of time than any other Layton game, leaving it difficult to place in the timeline. I’ve done my best here. I don’t know where I got that Curious Village and Diabolical Box take place in August, but I am using it to full effect. This puts Curious Village only a few weeks after the events of Azran Legacy, which is in fact what I think.

Pg. 19: Himlamb Shogun’s Haori
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hailing from the Far East, the Samurai slash their way into the battlefield of high fashion.  Taking from the traditional Hingan ways, the Himlamb Shogun’s Haori is ideal for any wandering swordsman.  The Jingasa takes from a previous PiB Catalogue item and has improved it, sporting a beautiful translucent veil that obscures the face in a 315-degree radius, and upon it is a Hingan word meaning “Winter”.
“A blade of blue-white / Cutting through a silver storm / Brings iv’ry silence.”
The artifact weapon whose name speaks for itself: the Hyoga-no-Tsurugi - “Sword of Glaciers” when translated from Hingan.  The kanji written upon the steel is a herald to the promise of a long and deadly Winter - one wrought by its wielder’s hand.  Feel the snow and ice dance around your blade as you gather your Kenki for powerful and swift strikes, and your “Setsu” Sen will innately be stored, forgoing the need to gather it for the powerful Midare Setsugekka.  However, the wielder will find its ice-based attacks enhanced with the fury of a blizzard guiding their sword.
Bring your own storm of cold blood as the Himlamb Shogun.  Your mysterious visage will leave passersby amazed as you journey through snow-kissed glades like a fashionable silver specter.
(Credit and thanks to sapphrix.carrd.co/ for the creation of this masterpiece!)

what if i assigned log horizon stuff to every single muse on my list
well i'm gonna (eventually) (this is part 1)
yuri briar: human paladin-avenger. i think he'd have picked his class-sublass combo as one that would be able to help yor out the most, so naturally for his avenger subclass, yor is the person he avenges. "paladin" is the western european's version of the default class "pirate" or the japanese variant "samurai".
louis james moriarty: fox tail assassin-butler. the person he's dedicated himself to serving is naturally william, though i like to think he can have some personal growth and change his subclass to avenger much like yuri.
abe no hirari: wolf fang swashbuckler-curseblade. when flavor text started applying to real life, hirari lost his arm, so he took the curseblade subclass to prevent that kind of thing from happening again.
kumo baren: human kannagi-body double. i don't really think there's any arguing with this one it's actually fairly straightforward.
momochi ako: wolf fang assassin-mercenary. i think most of the momochi clan would probably be similarly inclined to pick assassin as a class, though.
roland fortis: human paladin-holy warrior. i don't think roland chose that for a practical reason, though, and holy warrior probably just sounded in line with the character he created for himself.
antoine de sade: elf enchanter-vampanella. he'd probably suit a subclass like courtesan better, but i wouldn't put it past antoine to earn that kind of position without it, and it's important to me that he remains a vampire.
all of love: fox tail enchanter-vampanella. haha. for different reasons, since all of love is all about low level fighting and magic and stuff.
belkia: human swashbuckler-vampanella. double swords. that's all i have to say.
niccolo carpediem: human summoner-gambler. i was stuck between a few for him, but the summoner contracts remind me of servamp contracts, and he's got a good consistent theme when it comes to gambling, so...
adrian graye vernworth: catperson enchanter-specter user. this one stumped me since there's not really a "director" or "actor" subclass like i would have wanted, but i think the combination of enchanter and specter user would allow for potential overskills having to do with illusions, maybe...
alador blight: elf summoner-mechanic. naturally, he'd combine his powers as a summoner with his mechanic subclass at some point.
eda clawthorne: elf sorcerer-alchemist. i think there's also an option for flavor text to affect her in a similar way to her curse from the get-go, so that's cool as well.
seung-gil lee: wolf fang assassin-dancer. i don't have much to comment on with him.
edogawa ranpo: human kannagi-detective. obviously he gets the detective subclass even though he doesn't need it!
