A doctor from New York University died shortly after she ate at one of Disney’s restaurants in Florida — and her bereaved husband is blaming negligent staffers, according to a lawsuit.
Kanokporn Tangsuan, a doctor at the prestigious NYU Langone hospital in Manhattan, died suddenly after having dinner at Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant at Disney Springs on Oct. 5.
Her husband, Jeffrey Piccolo, has filed a 19-page lawsuit in Orange County, Fla., circuit court, accusing Walt Disney Parks and Resorts of negligence, noting that Tangsuan had made it clear to the waitstaff that she had nut and dairy allergies.
The staff at the pub insisted they were able to make allergen-free food, after Tangsuan checked multiple times, the suit said.
Tangsuan ordered broccoli and corn fritter, scallops and onion rings.
After dinner, Tangsuan left the restaurant to explore the shopping complex when she began feeling sick.
She entered Planet Hollywood, where she experienced severe difficulty breathing and collapsed.
Though an epi-pen was immediately administered to her, she ultimately died at a local hospital, the lawsuit said.
According to court papers, the medical examiner’s investigation revealed she died as a result of anaphylaxis due to “elevated levels of dairy and nut in her system.”
Court papers claimed that Disney advertises and makes it clear to the public that food allergies and/or the accommodation of persons with food allergies are a “top priority” at its parks and resorts.
The suit alleged Disney “failed to educate, train and/or instruct its employees” to “make sure food indicated as allergen free or requested to be made allergen free, was in fact free of allergens.”
It also stated Disney had “control over the menu of food offered, the hiring and/or training of the wait staff, and the policies and procedures as it pertains to food allergies at Disney Springs restaurants.”
Piccolo is seeking damages in excess of $50,000 pursuant to Florida’s wrongful death act, in addition to mental pain and suffering, loss of income and funeral expenses.
Disney did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

last night was the first night in about week where I had absolutely peace so I hope it continues 💗🫶
#ladies I have been absolutely miserable this past week because my new neighbors have been causing so many problems and they have only been#here a week#it’s been so stressful to navigate and it got bad to the point where I couldn’t even be comfortable in my own home and space . It is sunday night. I remain exhausted.
#my stuff#i tried everything this weekend and nothing is healing my Existential Ambivalence#like i know i cooked and i saw friends and i did my hobbies and normally i'd be proud of myself for all that but i just...don't care#i wanna call out sick or something tomorrow. I'm worried about my finances and i genuinely think im gonna have to move somewhere cheaper#like i was expecting my tax return to offset the slow bleed of money from my savings each month and that Is Not Happening#And its not like i have any way to Make More Money#bc im a grad student and we're contractually prevented from doing so#So that means i'll need to move when my lease is up this summer and i really don't fucking want to#i like where i live i just wish it wasn't so goddamn expensive on rent#even like $200 cheaper would be world changing for me#but no instead i gotta look at my bills after power and car insurance and food and be like oops guess i lost $100 this month#and god forbid i get coffee or eat out in the cheapest way possible bc somehow that adds up to like $100 the second i look away#im sick of being anxious about this!! im not eating enough as it is!!#i also don't wanna get a fucking roommate bc i don't want someone in a space i've come to consider my own#like sorry but im transgender do not fucking look at me stranger#so the only real solution is to move and that's such a fucking hassle and it doesn't solve the problem now and i just want this to get bettr#i wish all students a very $2000 raise forever#and all landlords a very Scrooge Moment that makes you cut my rent in half#ave omnissiah

Oh MIL is something else today
#apparently she asked my husband about us moving and if we're going to move all three of us (basically asked my husband if were leaving her)#and it's like no????? you're the one putting the deposit down on a place???#like my MIL is codependent on my husband to the nth degree but we also genuinely can't afford to move without her#and she can't afford to live without us#so we're moving as a family#that's been established since we first talked about getting a place together as a family#but i guess she has it in her head that we don't want to move with her bc we keep 'shooting down her ideas'#and we're just like all we said was we didn't want to live in the same condo complex as my husbands horrible ex friend?????#it's just freaking ridiculous all around#but anyways she wanted to have this convo with my husband again after he had worked a 12+ hour day and he said no he didn't have the energy#and she got defensive about THAT like we're somehow gonna be the ones responsible if we accidentally got locked in another year o the lease#no mom you just really suck at picking places to live#she's thinking short term bc she just wants to get tf out of here (fine; same) and Kaiden and i are thinking about starting a family#we also want a theoretical space for Silas so they don't have to go back to my parents house ever again#but i digress yet again#sigh

I NEED TO MOVE OUT NOOWWWWWWW
#i woke up at 3 pm bc this was my 1st day ‘off’ in forever#and when i went to grab something to eat our back door was fully open and my car was nowhere to be found#cat*#so i freaked out and started looking outside but when i realized she wasn’t there and my roommate also wasn’t recently outside#i knocked on her bedroom door and she was like ‘oh sorry i was asleep do you want me to help look’#YES i want you to help look what are you talking about#eventually i found her bc my cat is the best girl in the world and never left our yard- she was in the crawl space under the house#but not only am i pissed she let my car out then took a nap#but we don’t live in the safest city in the world and while we were both sleeping our door was fully 90 degrees open#so now not only do i feel like kevin (cat) isn’t safe here but I don’t feel safe sleeping here anymore#the lease is up in july and i finally get to leave#this girl is a random roommate my former roommate found to replace her#and the whole process/experience has been awful#i just have to survive 4 months#during the summer i might keep paying rent but fully leave and go live with family#bc my school isn’t in driving distance of any of my family#now i’m thinking about asking someone if they’ll take kevin for a couple months bc im so sorry about her#but my dad has a dog that doesn’t love cats and my best friend is allergic and my mom lives in another state#personal#delete later#also this is unrelated BUT every weekend without fail she does laundry at an insane time in the morning#and our washing machine is the loudest washing machine i’ve EVER heard#and of course it’s right against the wall of my room#not hers#i only get two days a week to sleep past 630 am and she almost always ruins it

had a look online at apartments and i can get a one bed apartment for a reasonable amount more than my half of this two bed. i am seriously getting sick of having a roommate, when my lease is up i need to get my own place
#it’s tricky tho bc my job situation is not incredibly stable (academia gang 😎 j1 visa gang 😎) so i’m nervous about signing a lease#but by the time i will start seriously looking for apartment i will have more clarity on the job situation#like i have a grant in for funding that will guarantee me six months work for the next three years#and if i get that then ill be fine to sign a lease#but yeah i’m just sick of having someone constantly in my space and needing to put up with that low level annoyance im not staying with#her for another year

Has not really sunk in yet that tomorrow I’m leaving the apartment where I’ve lived the last five years and like. Maybe that doesn’t seem like a LONG time to live someplace but I became a whole ass adult here. Lived through some of my best and worst times here. Laughed and cried and ate and drank and damn it I’m never going to have a street name this cute again.
#obviously not sharing the street name but TRUST ME it is adorable#I’m excited about the move though!!#going to be living with one of my best friends and he actually moved in with me for the last month of my lease here#so I already know what that’s going to be like haha#i really NEEDED to spend time living alone when I first moved here but now like. it’s really nice not to be alone#and I’m going to have space for a dishwasher so!!!#that’s the real excitement 😂#the real struggle is how will I find time to watch the mI finale tomorrow LOL#(tbf most of our stuff is already moved out and is arriving at the new place the day after tomorrow so I SHOULD have time)#(and maybe ml should not be a priority but moving is STRESSFUL and i deserve nice things haha)
