So I was giggling at Napoleon’s signature here and how odd his handwriting is.

The content of letter was less funny. It was a condolence letter from Napoleon to Berthier:
“My cousin, I share in your pain. The loss of a father is always sensitive. I know you and I understand your sorrows […]”
"Mon cousin je prends part à votre douleur. la perte d'un pere est toujours sensible. je vous connais et je comprends vos peines (...)" Saint-Cloud, 3 prairial an XII (23 mai 1804).

seeing the tweets announcing what all of Freddie’s stuff went for is bringing me physical pain and I didn’t even KNOW the man, I feel so bad for the band and like, Peter Freestone and anyone else still alive who wasn’t given a chance at anything

I was thrilled to see the Garden Lodge Door was preserved.
What an amazing piece of art... at least a small piece of the tributes left on the walls of Garden Lodge survived.
Good on whoever got it.

Freddie Mercury’s baby grand has been sold. I would have loved to have been at this auction.
Like many people my age, my first exposure to Queen was the singalong in Wayne’s World. I was instantly hooked. Pearl Jam’s album Ten and Metallica’s Black album came out around the same time and formed the basis of my music taste ever since. I’ve watched Queen’s Wembley concert a half dozen times.
