I’m sorry to keep messaging but I’m literally going insane— people who think that Miguel is just bullshitting or lying about the stuff with canon events and that the entire spider society is just blindly following him are also discrediting characters like Peter and Gwen who have been established to be extremely smart and also very independent
like do you think they believe in the canon event algorithm without proof?? Miguel literally says “we haven’t always been lucky” implying MULTIPLE universes have been lost to the breaking of canon. Miles defying the odds breaking the cycle of canonical suffering is interesting BECAUSE it is something that actually exists (both inside and outside the story). Imagine how fucking flat it would feel if in the theater for btsv the story just went “oh yeah btw that stuff was never real Miles’s dad was never in any actual danger teehee”
nah nah no need to apologise, i enjoy hearing other people's thoughts on this stuff!
and nooo head in hands this bothers me so much too. like putting aside the fact that miguel as a character doesn't make sense if his fear of dimensional collapse and sympathy about the more awful canon events ISN'T genuine, the spider society isn't just taking this on the word of one guy!
a whole group of them including Peter B were literally present during the original collapse, anomalies (as in folks in the wrong dimension) do seem to cause some form of damage to the dimensions they're in like vulture affecting the stability of the art museum etc. Not to mention that of course nobody wants to be playing scientist with billions of lives and testing which triggers will cause dimensional collapse! Especially since they seem to be able to disintegrate incredibly fast. They're scared and trying to protect people, and Miguel's alt dimension collapsing literally only happened at MOST a couple months ago so memory of that is literally sitting in the forefront of everyone's minds.
Even the way they brush aside the idea the Spot is to blame for Pavitr's dimension unravelling, I can understand where that sentiment comes from. We aren't shown any other universe Spot has visited manifesting the same kind symptoms from use of his powers (not even the one he used a mini collider in), so I get why they'd go occam's razor and attribute that unravelling to a canon event being disrupted.
But yeah on your last point! Miles triumphing over this conflict is, to me, at it's most effective and moving when he conquers stakes characters genuinely believe can't be beaten, that have weighty dramatic tension! When he triumphs over a legitimate idealogical position and not just over some guy lying for reasons incoherent with the actions he takes and retroactively making every other spiderman look kind of silly!
#i do think the 'we haven't always been lucky' COULD just be in reference to their failed attempt to save miguel's alt dimension#but could also plausibly be about the idea that dimensional collapse has happened before. imo i think not though because otherwise it would#be something important to show the audience as multiple examples of the same stakes#ask games#anon

LISEYYYY haii SUI HUNTER UPDATE!!! first one in like months phew i've really been slacking... i'm sure you must've missed these lol. i'm on 197 rn i'm catching up. uhhh A LOT'S HAPPENED SINCE THE LAST ONE well let's see. umm i really liked seeing the civilizations progress and developing modern societies with governments and businesses and theatre companies and whatnot. warms my heart really i know how kgj must feel. sort of who can really understand what's going through that freak's head other than raviel. speaking of her nice to see gongja is still whipped like always. sooha starting to become depicted as a good guy in the plays riling kgj up so much was pretty funny even though i get why. ssonia really got to me for some reason i know technically he (she. technically. w/e) was a minor character but still i was #touched. i'm really interested to see where the thing with the tower's aura musical theatre thing is going to go... AND i was so happy with the black dragon master and the count and gongja having that buddy buddy scene where they just got drunk and brainstormed and hung out and schemed HASHTAG FRIENDSHIP i was giggling the whole time i was reading that i love when characters have relationships. WHEN KGJ ASKED BDM IF HE COULD CALL HER NOONA......? augh. AND UBURKA....... i'm so glad he showed up again and immediately went to beat up gongja yas. but then gongja's random speech while they were fighting...... he's insane. sssrh is so insane it's about a freak that kills himself over and over again but it's heartwarming and nice and just so good why. ooouuuuggghhh i'll keep trucking on o7 i won't let months pass before the next update this time PROMMYYYYY sorry this is so long. you know how i am

Ahh, thank you so much!!! This was so much fun and such a good exercise for character building cause these guys are still so fresh and new to me.
1. What is your character's reaction to a minor inconvenience? Such as getting their jumper caught on a door handle?
Sylawen would take personal offense, glare at the doorknob, then contemplate setting it aflame. If it ripped her jumper, then you would probably hear a lot of screaming and some vile curses scattered within. If, however, she was around other people, she would play it cool, do a little *teehee* clumsy me and smile.
2. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate or other?
Tea in the morning, hot chocolate at night. Syla shares her mother's sweet tooth.
7. Are they a naturally assertive person or are they painfully shy?
I would say Caldemil isn't shy as much as he is unbothered. He's more the type to keep their head down and avoid speaking up even when things get uncomfortable. I think if he went to a restaurant and they gave him the wrong order, he would probably eat it and not even care lol
Loriel is much more assertive, especially in her work as an archaeologist. She's typically a very demure and soft-spoken woman but will not bat an eye to correct you or call you out if she feels she is being slighted. Her mother was a bit of an eccentric academic herself and so she learned from a very young age to speak with conviction
8. Do they consider themselves a friendly person or aloof?
Caldemil is straight up a golden retriever in Altmer form. He lives for love and is soooo happy to make friends. Loriel is a bit more reserved, and though she might come across as aloof on first impression, she's very willing to talk and she loves having people over for tea :)
21. What would be one item that they would hate to lose most?Oooh, this was a tricky one! I haven't thought too much about his personal possessions, but I feel like there must be some familial heirloom that was passed down to him through the generations. Maybe like a decorative sword that he hangs above the mantle (I don't imagine he could even wield it properly haha), or like a pocket watch.
24. What are your character's special skills?
Loriel is a highly skilled baker! She makes the cakes and desserts for all her family functions and she tried to teach Syla when she's younger, but she just ate all the batter off the spoon and got sick all the time, so eventually Loriel gave up.
29. Are they an organised person? Or more laissez-faire?
Caldemil is organized but only in the context of his work. He is an accountant for a big trading company in Cyrodiil, and all of his records are meticulously kept. Everything outside of his study/library is a disaster though. He doesn't ever fold his clothes and it drives Loriel insane because every time he shows up to a party, there's a wrinkle in his shirt. The horror!
39. What's your character's guilty pleasure
Loriel loves a solitary wine night and a box of rich, dark chocolate. She'll curl up in her study and read in solitude for hours before forgetting she's the head of a household and is supposed to be watching her kids 😭
48. Is your character easy to make cry? Or angry? Or annoyed?
Crying in front of others is a big no-no to Syl. She will avoid it anyway she can. She finds people boring more often than she does annoying, and if they annoy her, she will probably just walk away midway through the conversation before it can even get to anger.
49. What is your character's biggest fear? Most irrational?
Another tough one 😭 I would say it's failing to meet her own expectations. She has a very rigid set of standards for herself that has been honed by how she thinks the world perceives her (which is largely with repulsion and scorn the moment they learn she is a necromancer). It's a very sore spot for her, though she denies it. She tries extra hard to look appealing and make herself easier to swallow, but lacks the social grace to understand why she makes people so uncomfortable. Instead, she crafts this idea of what "the perfect image" is and thinks, "if I meet that, everything will be okay."

Huge comfort book, read it during grief counseling because it was a gift from my dad. I don’t even remember what it was about but i was insane about it when I was 11
Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury
Was assigned to me and one other kid with the same reading level in seventh grade and I was so mad, everyone else got cool YA novels and I was so jealous. Then I finished it in two days and didn’t shut up about it for weeks.
Septimus Heap series by Angie Sage
Counting the whole series as two books but my two favorites are Queste and Fyre. The septimus heap series is the reason I never read h*rry p*tter because I got a few chapters in and went “this wizard book fucking sucks why would I read this instead of *my* wizard book that Angie Sage wrote for me specifically” and I was so right it's such a fun series. The main character’s best friend is named Beetle. O Beetle Beetle. That’s his name. Also I had a crush on Marcia but ignore that.
Song of Myself by Walt Whitman
Some may hate on me for including a poem as a book but I don’t care. Made me cry in class, Bear can vouch. Good book.
11. What non-fiction books do you like if any?
I loooove big nonfiction books about like one specific topic with tons of pictures. Love to look at things love to see them. My astronomy text book has fold-out pages of super high-def pictures of space and I love it.

I love to recommend recent books I’ve read so my most recent read I’d recommend is The Bluest Eye by Toni Morrison. I’m not gonna review it because I. Won’t shut up if I do. I have a seven page research essay abt it if u rlly want my thoughts dfgsfhs.
20. What are things you look for in a book?
I’m super particular about what I read because I lose interest in things so fast, so I love a book that challenges me. Any book that I find too predictable or lacking in depth I drop so fast. My bus driver wrote a book and he wanted me to review it and I never had the heart to tell him I got bored after the third chapter. Sorry Michael I’m sure it was a good book. ✊😔
