what's your favourite sims death?

ngl i dont actually have one, im terrified of any of my babies dying so they never do...but i guess old age maybe? because that means theyve lived a long life and ive played with them for a long time?

alpha cc or mm?

alpha HANDS DOWN...i dont hate mm by any means dont get me wrong, but ill always be an alpha girl at heart. its the alpha hairs, they always get me.

do you cheat your sims weight?

only if it fits their character i guess? not usually in gameplay.

do you move objects

i move objects every single day.

fave mod?

ooofff i mean out of necessity? nraas. but just the one i love? hands down pose player. mostly because i was so excited when i finally got it to work (i was like 13 or something and before then i could not figure out how to get mods to work) so a lot of happy memories from finally getting my sims to pose.

first expansion/game pack/stuff pack?

my first ever was sims 2 glamour life stuff pack when i was a kid. if we're talking sims 3, i believe the first pack i got was generations, which is still my favourite sims pack ever.

do you pronounce live mode like aLIVE or LIVing?

i pronounce it LIVE, always have as far as i know.

who's your favourite sim that you've made?

well, its gotta be elodie honestly. she and eli are the longest sims i have ever had and i love them both dearly. in the sims 4, its gotta be my girl pippa. before tumblr? i had this family called the moretti's, i miss them and i think about them way too often. i loved them all.

have you made a simself?

oh yeah. loads of times. i think ive shared my sims 3 and sims 4 variations on tumblr (but they look really weird tbh). i love making myself, cause then i can wear all these clothes i cant afford in real life.

favourite ea hair

im with aimee on this one.

im mostly joking, but usually sims 3 hairs are a no go for me, except for some store ones and the hairs that are pulled back into buns always look really nice. for sims 4, only the newer ones. the older ones are not for me.

favourite life stage?

young adult. i feel like you can always do more with young adult sims and you have so much more time (except in sims 1 i believe?and sims 2 only if u went to uni?? idk). 90% of my sims are forever young adults because i love that life stage so much.

are you a builder or are you in it for the gameplay?

mate ive been trying to build for donkeys years to no avail. so im almost always in it for the gameplay.

are you a cc creator?

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA BAHAHAHA HA once upon a time bro maybe. your girl tries to be, but uni is a pain in my bottom, and sims 3 loves making my life difficult.

do you have any simblr friends or a sim squad?

somehow i do?? more friends then irl anyway. the girl gang is @thesimperiuscurse , @lazysunjade & @amuhav these 3 have put up with me despite my crazy personality for an incredibly amount of time and i love them all dearly. but i have so many friends on here its crazy (more than 3 people its incredible!). obviously they havent seen my real personality yet. besties include: @catharsim , @plumbobem , @johziii , @rollo-rolls , @moonsonnet , oh gosh im forgetting people I AM SO SORRY I LOVE U ALL SO MUCH

bro i wish, but no money. spent it all on anno 1800. no regrets.

i believe formally i do, but i dont post anything. i do have some ideas if i ever wanted to, but my adhd brain couldnt cope being consistent so i probably never will.

how has your "sims style" changed throughout your years of playing?

as in sims or gameplay? idk ill talk about both. gameplay wise, not much, except im weirdly a lot more controlling then i was over my sims WHOOPS. but i still cant get passed gen 2 so that hasn't changed. but i still prefer family gameplay, probably always will. and challenges, always challenges. sims wise? a lot.

with my blood, sweat and tears. im not joking, a lot of sweat and tears goes on when im editing.

what expansion/gamepack is your faveourite?

of all time? generations, no doubt in my mind. i never had any sims 1 or sims 2 expansions, so i never got to experience those unfortunately. generations was perfection though. i mean, boarding school? lifesaver. also led to the best sims series of all time: lifesimmer's generations. for sims 4 though? probably get together, purely because of the world.

Red string & Spiders

The Web is obviously gonna be important in season 5 and ive been meaning to dig into some of it’s threads (hah) for a while. Now, I know about Web!Martin and I admit that it’s a possibility, but i dont personally see the narrative taking that route.

I don’t know that all these connections are intentional manipulations either, but I’m just gonna work under the assumption that they are and see where it gets me. Somewhere behind the scenes, Annabelle and the Mother are playing five dimensional chess and laughing at all of us.

This ended up being a bit long (1.5k words, whoops!) so it’s going under a cut.

123: Web Development.

“You would have to write out, and post, in full, a horrible event that had happened to you, or someone that you loved.“ This sounds an awful lot like Annabelle is collecting statements, possibly scouting victims and potential vectors through which she can influence the Institute? She starts doing this in early 2015 and that brings me to

16: Arachnophobia & 39: Infestation

Carlos Vittery's name is found in the Chelicerae website. His experience happened in early 2015 and he made his statement in April. Investigating his statement is what brings Martin into contact with Jane Prentiss and sets into motion a chain of events that saves everyone during the Infestation. ie, he ends up living at the archives and stashes the extra fire extinguishers and the corkscrew.

Of course, Prentiss is also forced to start the wormpocalypse early after Jon accidentally discovers it when killing a spider.

147: Weaver & 80: The Librarian

It’s that damn lighter. From 147: “I realise that addiction is one of the strongest vectors of control there is.“ Leitner wouldn’t have been left alone if Jon hadn’t gone for a smoke, or just vaped instead. (Daisy helpfully mentions that he smokes Silk cut brand at one point -.-)

Of course, the lighter was delivered alongside the web table and destroying it is also what directly lead Jon to meeting Leitner in the first place. idk if the goal here would’ve been to actually get Leitner killed or if that was just a side-effect of pushing Jon further along his journey?¨

121: Far Away

The Web sends Oliver Banks to feed Jon a statement and encourage him to go full avatar. It’s just very kind and helpful, huh?

130: Meat

It helpfully points toward using a body part as an anchor when entering the coffin. This whole mess gets Jon marked by both the Flesh and the Buried.

Hill Top Road, pt 1

There’s A Lot Too Unpack Here

So they’re originally using this place to ensnare fresh adults and filling them with spiders. I think it is a place of power and essentially a production facility for the hollow type of spider person that Trevor encounters in 56. These might very well be the “spider husks” that got Daisy sectioned in the first place.

Then there’s the whole mess with Agnes. I still don’t feel like I fully understand what went down there. Let’s look at these two quotes:

“she had destroyed the place utterly. And yet she remained bound to it, tied to it in some vital way.” (Eugene Vanderstock, 139)

“It let the Mother of Puppets bind me to Agnes, interweave our existences at some… metaphysical level, as it had with Fielding and the house.” (Gertrude, 145)

So we have ties that bind between Fielding/Hill Top, Agnes and Gertrude. The way Eugene talks about it, seems that being bound to Hill Top wouldn’t prevent her from realising her destiny, but being bound to Gertrude did. And while waiting for Gertrude to die, doubt crept into her and made her unfit for their grand ritual.

I still don’t understand why the uprooting of the tree at Hill Top is what spurred Agnes to finally end it though. It seems like that might’ve broken the bond between her and that place, which you’d think is a good thing? idk, maybe we’re not done with Agnes yet, or I’m just overthinking it.

Hill Top Road, pt 2

Season 5 babey!

“I can’t say much about exactly what happened within the walls of that house, but it seems the fight scarred the place in a way far deeper than simple fire. A scar in reality, that I believe has since been compounded by the interferences of other powers.” (Eugene, 139)

“There is something wrong with Hill Top Road. You know it as well as I do. Some strange scar on reality at the center of - whatever it is that the Spider is spinning.” (Helen, 146)

First, idk if it’s anything but this kinda reminds me of how Jon is marked by every fear.

Second, episode 114. This is the episode I keep coming back to when thinking about Hill Top Road cause what the heck is up with this:

“I went to clean that house on April the 23rd 2009 which, according to all of you, is tomorrow. But it can’t be. That was two weeks ago. I’ve tried to talk to my friends about it. Those of my friends I can find, but they seem distant, like they don’t really know me. Everything is just... wrong. I can’t find my favourite coffee shop. And I don’t know who you people are.“

This whole episode reeks of alternate universe and I’m just ??? Additionally, the lady talks about the tree in the backyard, but it was uprooted in 2006, so even more AU vibes. Of course, it could be mental manipulation, someone altering her memories, but that seems like a weird red herring that Jon doesn’t even pursue.

Alternatively, we’ve seen NotThem rewrite reality around a person and at this time the NotThem was bound to the Web table. I don’t think that’s anything, particularly given that the table was destroyed, but it’s a thought. (And NotSasha was very recently released back into the world so, hmm)

Ultimately I feel like the lady in 114 may have been a kind of experiment? A trial run to see exactly how they could harness this scar in reality, or to see if they needed to exacerbate it further? Whatever it is, I’m certain it’s gonna be Important™ in season 5.

81: A Guest for Mr. Spider

I don’t think baby-Jon was necessarily targeted beyond being a convenient victim. Him walking away from Mr Spider alive though, that may have made him interesting. I wonder if the Web being the first to mark him carries special significance and that’s maybe why it’s been assisting him? Its highly speculative but the Web did also mark Gertrude and it sounds like it may have been her first mark too. (Assuming the cat thing to be a joke)

Maybe it’s trying to use this to hijack Elias’ ritual somehow? Or to do a second ritual? Or the order of the marks has no significance and all it wanted Jon for was the Mass Ritual?

110: Creature Feature & 136: The Puppeteer

I feel like I know the least about these two. I don’t know to what extent they’re really connected but Neil Lagorio and the film angle seems like a big thing, and Annabelle’s presence makes me think it’s part of something bigger.

So Lagorio is supposed to be creating a spider animatronic but is actually housebound (you could even say homestuck). Annabelle shows up at his place and spends 5 months doing something before he dies. As news of his death break, a big spider monster kidnaps ~100 actors. It doesn’t feel like a big leap to say that he probably created (or was used to create) some sort of spider in the end.

idk what the end goal here is though, why did Annabelle send Lagorio’s original cuts to the Institute? Why is one body a year washing up on a beach? Are they just using them to lay eggs in, or as food? Just killing people isn’t very spider-y but I guess everyone needs to eat?

This whole thing is giving me ritual vibes but I don’t think that’s it? At least not your standard ritual.

Elias & 160

I feel like the Web has definitely helped us get to 160 but I don’t think Elias is directly working with it. They just seem to share the completion of the Mass Ritual as a goal. (Or maybe they are working together and Elias is getting played somehow, that’d be nice.)

Annabelle straight up says “Maybe I’ve occasionally been nudging something here and there to keep you safe, to keep everything on track” and she directly calls out his compulsion to read statements, which Elias’ ultimately uses to set it off. I feel like, if she wanted to stop it, she would’ve just found some way to kill Jon.

I don’t know if the final goal was just to piggyback on Elias’ ritual though, that feels a bit too simple, especially since Hill Top Road hasn’t been resolved. There’s probably some further, sinister plot at play that just needed the fearpocalpyse to be a thing. I don’t know what it is, but it’s gonna involve a big spider and Hill Top Road.

nanoha vivid liveblog i guess? episode 1

Some background: I watched Nanoha, A’s, and StrikerS about five years ago in my mid-teens, and also read as much of the vivid manga as was out then. So I probably have seen about as much as the anime covers, and also know a bunch of spoilers, which will show up in this often. This franchise meant a lot to me back then, and I’m suddenly reinterested in it. Feel free to ask me anything about these shows!

So I’m going to try liveblogging nanoha vivid. I figure I’ll make one long-ish post with a read more per episode so as not to clog my blog up. Also, sorry but all my screenshots have the progress bar in them, because I guess piracy does have a cost after all

This opening narration is fucking hilarious, considering how generally moe this show is It would not be out of place in a relatively dark historical show then again, this is nanoha, which is kinda famous for dark scifi worldbuilding mixed with magical girls

✨ Paleblooded Trolls ✨

( aka the revival of an ancient headcanon™ )

Intro To Palebloods

Being ‘paleblooded’ is a mutation, yes, but a minor one. Often overlooked, these trolls are simply sicker, weaker, and expectedly, paler; Even down to the blood itself. It’s similar to some kind of vitamin deficiency, hemophilia, or anemia. These trolls lack something needed to be healthy that shows even through their pigment.

The mutation is rumored to have developed due to the method of breeding that trolls as a race use; The mixing of the multi-blooded genetic slurry into a new gene pool, generation after generation. Parts of this pool are doomed to go bad, expire, become infected, or otherwise be deficient.. Thus, sometimes strains of wrigglers who aren’t quite at the peak of health will go unnoticed out of the caverns, and eventually return their ‘weak’ DNA to it. Etc. Etc.

✨ F.A.Q. ✨

HOW PALE CAN U GET?

Level 1 - Healthy Trolls blood pigment. Nothin' wrong here!

Level 2 - Blood is a bit wonky, not too noticeable though, you might get sick a lot easier than other trolls but you should be fine if you take care of yourself. You could be considered a paleblood, but a lucky one.

Level 3 - That's certainly not a normal blood color. You alright there buddy? You seem very weak compared to others of your caste, and that might cause a handful of problems. You’re definitely a paleblood, and should be very cautious about your health.

Level 4 - That’s too desaturated! If you somehow managed to make it out of the caverns with that; you’re horrifically sick or already in the process of dying.

DOES IT ONLY AFFECT BLOOD? ✨ DOES IT AFFECT ALL BLOOD CASTES? ✨

In more severe cases, a trolls skin, horns, eyes, and even hair may appear slightly more pale as well. They Are Not Albino; Just sickly looking. Like they’ve lost the shine they’d normally have.

& Everyone has equal chance of picking up the gene; it's not limited to castes!

Palebloods are naturally weaker than other trolls of their caste and have a higher chance (if lowbloods) to not inherit powers. On the off chance that they do, they would be difficult to manage, and/or useless ones.

Their immune systems are weak, they get sick easily and have a harder time fighting off simple things like the common cold, and could actually die from an untreated flu, etc.

They also have trouble reproducing, AKA, their genetic material is virtually worthless. Yes, it's produced, but likely to just spoil the slurry more, and probably going to make their future descendant (if any) even more pale.

WHAT ARE THE CHANCES OF-- ✨ me completely bullshitting these numbers

A grub getting it in the first place? 10-15% - This number fluctuates between 'spoiled' batches of genetic slurry; But overall it's still fairly uncommon in general. Thankfully.

A grub surviving the caverns with it? 60-75% - It's not an immediately 'visible' thing. In most cases it would be overlooked as just a different shade of the color, or even passed off as a cusp. Making it to adulthood? Varies. - If you take care of yourself, yes! If no, then not likely. Being killed by a Drone? Varies. - On the color of genetic material you're mixing it with! You might pass inspection and you might not, it's a real 50/50 toss up here. Getting lowblood powers with it? 20% - (sad shrug gesture) Becoming a rainbow drinker with it? 50% - See below**. Not even noticing you have it? 80-90% - This one is super high because 'palebloods' aren't that well known. It's not exactly a common disease that we know a lot about, many trolls just assume they have a more desaturated shade of blood and live on without ever noticing. Though more curious trolls who look into the reason for them getting sick all the time might discover a book or a website or two describing it and giving tips on dealing with it. Being a blood-mutant/albino AND a paleblood? no. you'd get killed in the caverns for that. The increased hunger is because you now NEEEED that iron more than ever, (and if you go with the worm headcanon, it's gonna be a greedy little fucker.)

The 'glowing' thing is simply that any paleblood with powers will have trouble with them and, like with everything, it’s hard to control. You might light up at the clap of a hand, or simply be forever dimly lit. It varies on a troll-to-troll basis.

ANd the flavor palette varies from THIS IS THE BEST THING iVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE to licking the inside of a dumpster that hasnt been cleaned in 5 years. There's no middle ground. You love everything or hate everything. ):

If a Regular drinker tries pale-blood they'd probably find it like a watered down possibly gross flavor, & If a Pale drinker tries another pale-blood they'd find it even more watered down like how fucking long was this soda sitting on the counter its flat and disgusting kind of taste.

BASICALLY.... Turning a sick person into a vampire doesn't make them less of a sick person, they're now just a sick vampire. Lmao.

Though WARNING.... it's debatable if a paleblood could successfully become a drinker to start with! They're way more susceptible to bleeding to death and might not handle the change well, possibly dying in the process! Whoops.

(and again, if you go with the worm headcanon, the worm might not be able to accept/thrive off their deficient blood! They’d certainly need a lot of ‘fresh’ blood to sustain themselves.)

SO LIKE. if u read crossroads you know that i hc them as best friends in a modern setting specifically. and i started shipping them romantically when i was trying to put together a BFFs Clubbing Mix for them and had some songs with romantic/sexual lines and was like “ill just ignore those lmao” SURPRISE I DID NOT IGNORE THEM. it was songs like “that’s what i like” by bruno mars and uhh. what else. “side to side” by ariana grande ft nicki minaj, “diggy down” by inna ft marian hill, etc etc ill definitely post a link to the mix once i finish it

ANYWAY so kind of my modern au genjame headcanon is like. they meet in their early/mid-twenties at a club and are like “wow we are the hottest people here let’s be best friends and also maybe fuck” and theyre bffs (possibly fwbs) for like. A Long Time before eventually being like ok actually we are in love whoops

i see their relationship being like. they have a lot in common!! in how people (or at least. i) tend to characterize them. they both can be really fake about their feelings (with genji always acting happy and blowing everything off, and amelie just. acting like she doesnt have any feelings) and tbh thats one of my favorite parts of the dynamic i envision for them. i feel like they could both kinda see through each others fake front but also respect privacy of emotion enough not to push too hard. like theyll talk about what they want or need to talk about but theyre not gonna force each other when they dont want to because they both understand why theyre that way

theyre also just like. both really beautiful cool kids who kinda use partying as a coping mechanism/distraction? and i imagine that they both really like being the center of attention. when they go out dancing together or whatever they both want to be the ones everyone is watching because theyre the most beautiful, the best dancers, best dressed, most charismatic, everything. and i think they benefit each other in that way because genji’s charm makes them seem more approachable and likable, while ame’s aloofness makes them seem more intimidating and out of reach, which i feel like is a combination theyd be pretty into

and then outside of clubbing or whatever my favorite hc for stuff they do together is watch reality tv lmao like i picture that half their nights together they get dressed up and go out, and the other half they stay in and just like. sprawl all over each other on the couch wearing each others pajamas and watch top chef or project runway and eat fast food (genji prefers taco bell, ame prefers panda express)

and like. they both deserve a fucking vacation. so my favorite canon universe headcanon is that they just fuckin. run away together to all the places theyve always wanted to go to. imagine cyborg genji in a hawaiian print shirt and blue-skinned amelie in a bikini, hanging out on some caribbean beach. everyone around them is staring and they are digging it, all eyes on them just like theyve always wanted, they used to be self conscious about their current bodies but theyve passed the point of giving a fuck, and also like, theyre still fucking beautiful? unusual looking, sure, but theyre STILL the hottest people around. amazing

So I had me heart set on blindsiding Tara but then she had to go and play nice. Which meant I had to take a big risk and start drama. By saying that Rebecka, Ain, and I had a f3 deal I convinced her to start planning for a Rebecka blindside. Once she did I went to Ain and told him she was planning it, and to cover my bases I said she was trying to portray me as the mastermind behind it. So now we’re all at each others throats again, and I can hopefully pull this off.

Stephen is trying to get Rebecka and Me to vote Tara while everyone else votes Rebecka......... I appreciate the drama, the Big Move™, but he needs to be less messy about it.

So I don’t know what is going on but I’m pretty sure the survivor gods hate me, ironically. So everything was looking fine all we had to do was get Vi on board but apparently she was found something in the moors, she can’t say what but she seems confident that any attnept to vote Tara out will fail. Theres two possibilities here, one shes lying to save Tara, in which case we have to pull Jake and/or Aundra to get majority, or what she found protects Tara outright, in which case we’re screwed.

So this really is a confession. *cough Uh I was trying to get Stephen to not vote Tara by hinting at her having an idol. Somehow that completely backfired and made him think I had a disadvantage from the moors. Long story short he thinks the word vote is the trigger that I can’t reveal info and so he switch to using the word “banana”. Um as you can imagine, I died laughing. Was worth. Sorry Stephen but I took it and ran. If I get backstabbed it’s worth it. hello! sorry for the lack of updates i've just been super super busy. basically i've been trying my best to turn ain against rebecka, not that well tbh but shes promised to vote her out this vote lol fdskf, ain leaks everything to rebecka which is rly bad for my game tbh bcos it exposes how close me n ain are! i also tried to get a feel for how close stephen was to rebecka whilst i could let my immunity let me b messy n he basically leaked everything to ain it was p iconic LOL um so ya n then stephen planned to vote me out, but no one wanted to! hehe so he comes to me and says that he thinks i'm right about rebecka n tries to get me to vote her out LMAO but then apparently it didn't go how he wanted so he went back to rebecka and ain and tried to get them to vote out me again n its all p iconic bcos we're all sending eachother stephens messages n catching him out on his lies. i would LOVE to vote stephen out just to see the look on his face when me n rebecka receive ZERO votes (apart from maybe one from him) so he can realise he fricked up! unfortunately, bcos rebecka is so close to ain i think this might be the only opportunity to vote her out. n then i can make aundra super happy and vote out stephen next time! i think me and aundra are getting really close which i'm really glad about because aundra just seems to be a free vote lol fdbksf but hes also really fun to talk to. he also doesn't like ain(in a game way) which tbh is great bcos ain is winning! and if i got ot f3 with ain and aundra i could rely on aundra to try win immunity and take me to f2 yas! i finally have a plan.

So Vi has been far too vague, and Ain and Rebecka are looking more and more vague. It is risky to keep people like Aundra and Jake in becuase they might want me out, but its riskier not knowing how things will be affected by Vi. So I’m voting Rebecka. This affects my plan a little, next vote I’ll feel out Ain, see if we can work together and take out Tara, if not she’s gone. Then we vote out Aundra. Then Tara hopefully. Drama Drama Drama.
