my personal concept for how solsquirrel becomes A Thing is after sol tries to attack thunderclan via the tunnels, he flees and squirrelflight just kinda has had Enough atp, her toast is burnt w thunderclan. she feels like she can’t rly do anything to make brambleclaw or her kits forgive her so she tasks herself to find sol and bring him Back to thunderclan, she feels like maybe if she does this One Thing that maybe she can finally feel like she’s doing something Right again

so she goes on the hunt for sol and finds him, which ofc it starts as him trying to be menacing and taunt her which…..doesn’t work cus very quickly she’s able to just be like “yeah dude that doesn’t work on me, cmon bro ur coming back w me” but i DO think as they’re coming back to thunderclan it’s a very “falls in love w the assassin sent to kill me” kinda trope, a little goofy and unserious but it’s very much sol asking why she even wants to go back to thunderclan, her asking why he wants to keep trying to harm the clans even though he’s failed like four times at it, a goofy little slow burn,.,, but i rly like the idea of HIM falling for HER first and eventually it’s not even her taking him to thunderclan, he genuinely wants to go and squirrelflight kinda has to be like “man is he going to do the same shit over again or is he actually like, changing, did i do something good for thunderclan in an unexpected way by getting thru to this weasel”

but i also just love the concept of sol in thunderclan and him trying (and failing) to stand up to brambleclaw LMAFO

solsquirrel is VERY funny but on a serious note i DO really think it has good potential and is super cute. i like the idea of squirrelflight genuinely being the only cat to routinely put sol in his place and constantly have the upper paw, he realized VERY quickly that she’s not like the other cats in the clans and sees through bullshit 20x as fast as them. he has this respect for her because she’s very honest while also being someone who is incredibly selfless, she holds her own and but she guards herself very carefully due to both ashfur AND brambleclaw……n i think squirrelflight sees him as a nuisance at first cus it’s Sol but overtime she starts to think of him as a funny little guy who clearly isn’t as powerful and All Knowing as he pretends to be. he THINKS he’s the joker but he’s really not, he’s just lazy and kind of pathetic but weirdly enough squirrelflight kinda likes that more than she lets on LMAO.

solsquirrel is great because it’s so. not on the radar for either of them. squilf demonstrably likes her men big and buff and masc, and sol is like, tall, at least. but he’s pathetic. and waifish. and he isn’t really into women, for the most part. except squilf is driven and ferociously passionate in a way that’s undeniable attractive, because she can’t be swayed by pretty words the way other cats can, and she knows what she stands for and she’s physically incapable of losing sight of that. sol is the opposite of this. he’s lazy and apathetic and anything he’s ever been passionate about he’s screwed up so he doesn’t try anymore. but he could. for her. if she wants him to. and she just thinks he’s funny.
