The anxiety is real.

Staring into the unknown can stir even the most seasoned adventurer. But as I embarked on this open-ended European sojourn, anxiety miraculously gave way to awe. With no home base awaiting my return stateside, the realization sunk in that this was now my life - a perpetual existence on the move.

Like Cortez burning his ships to motivate his men, I had crossed a threshold. Turning back was not an option. I would need to rely on my wits, resourcefulness and courage to navigate each new terrain.

In these early days, mundane tasks like locating the market or deciphering bus routes seemed monumental. But with every small win, my confidence grew. The first time I successfully operated that confounding washing machine, I wanted to celebrate! When my clumsy tongue managed to order dinner in broken Italian, it felt like a hard-earned victory.

What I’ve discovered is that when you’re forced to figure things out, you unlock strengths you didn’t know you had. As I slowly piece together this complex jigsaw of life on the road, I find deep satisfaction in each connection made. With my ships burned and no choice but to make my way forward, challenges that once triggered anxiety now ignite a spark of adventure inside me.

The more puzzles I solve, the smaller the world becomes. What originally seemed vast and intimidating is revealed to be quite simple. Turns out, I have exactly what I need within me to navigate this journey. Where will the wandering wind guide me next? Regardless of what lies ahead, I’m no longer afraid - I’m alive with curiosity.

I cannot begin to tell you the immeasurable sense of freedom you would feel from being atop one of the most spectacular mountains in Rio De Janeiro 🇧🇷:

A cable car 🚠 ride up, you have about three floors to the top you can explore and take photos.

The view is just breathtaking. 🥰

Separating Rio De Janeiro from the Atlantic Ocean, this is probably the second biggest highlight of Rio, after Christ The Redeemer.

I felt such a rush of energy from being up there and just seeing the entire city from above. I think much of this has to do with the awe-inspiring magnitude of nature. There are so many instances in the world in which you can see nature in its greatest form, but I have to say few can beat that of a magnificent mountain view.
