hi!!! art ask meme, maybe 🕷 for sabina :3
🕷: draw a character reacting to a spider
Tumblr media
Sorry this took so long but I got in my feelings about this prompt </3
I think, before the events of Pillars of Eternity and becoming Lady of Caed Nua, Sabina was honestly very envious of spiders whenever she encountered them. As an unwilling Drifter, she envied the spider's homemaking ability, and the fact that they could live their whole lives without leaving said home :(

pillars of eternity ask! 6, 11, 12 for allara :)
6.how does your watcher's past life affect their current actions?
Allara's past life impacts her a fair amount. She's disgusted by her past, and her betrayal of iovara and, to some extent more importantly, her bowing down to thaos even when the truth is revealed. While she doesn't want to be defined by her past life, and she generally holds the view that what a person does in their past life shouldn't have any bearing on what they do in their current one, this is a theory vs practice scenario and she does very much want to avoid being that person again. This results in her being really harsh on the leaden key and thaos (deserved) and it's only really when she meets and deals with the inquisitor in the beast of winter that she takes a step back a reappraises that maybe she's being too hard on herself (only a little bit though)
11.who are your watcher's least favorite companions?
The easy answer is Durance, from the get go, Allara was disgusted by him and his actions (some of her disgust being before he even opens his mouth and reveals anything actually bad about himself), but towards the end, while she still does not like him, it mostly transforms into pity. She ultimately supports him getting his revenge on Magran, but that's really just her enacting her own pissed off feelings towards the gods, instead of having any real investment in Durance's struggles. Unfortunately, his talents as a priest are too important to ignore, so she usually just grits her teeth and bears his presence. She ends their relationship thinking he's just kind of pathetic.
She also has a very bad relationship with Maia. For starters, she feels like Maia was just dropped on her lap by the Royal Deadfire Company, and this immediately has her hackles raised. While Allara really got along well with Kana, the differences between the siblings also sets Allara off on the wrong foot. On top of this, Allara, between her personality and the stress of everything happening in the Deadfire, ends up being really insensitive towards Maia's doubts - she takes the approach that since she was able to leave the Bleak Walkers when she realised their approach was wrong, Maia should be able to leave the RDC, without really caring for the nuances of their different situations.
12.what does your watcher think about the gods?
It's really complicated. Pre-reveal, she kind of just knew they were there. She had a personal fondness towards Wael, and the events of the White March give her a weird soft spot for Abydon, but she was never particularly devout. Post-reveal she turns a lot more negative, seeing them as nothing more that bitter, over-bearing nobles who are punishing mortals for their mistakes. Try as she might though, she still desperately wants to prove the worth of mortals to the gods and she can't disregard their opinions on the matter, even though she would want to. By the end of Deadfire, she has a weird respect towards Berath, which is a massive step up from Allara breaking her bargain with them. Mixed into all of this is her weird relationship towards Eothas, who she likes because Edér likes him, and she does, in theory, like the idea of letting mortals do their own thing, but his destruction of Caed Nua and the taking of her souls along with all the destruction, does make her feel very conflicted about this.

pillars of eternity ask! 2, 6, 13 for eloi <3
Thank you so much for asking! I wasn't expecting to get any more asks for the PoE ask game so this made me really happy. :D Also, thank you for making the ask game in the first place!
-> Pillars of Eternity Ask Game <-
2. what is your watcher’s disposition?
Oh man, it might be easier to tell what isn't. 😂 Seriously though, Eloi is honest and benevolent by nature and his upbringing in Old Vailia as a child of penniless immigrants taught him well to always try and be diplomatic to avoid conflicts or getting unwanted attention. However, also due to his upbringing and circumstances, he feels very passionately about certain things... which has resulted in Eloi getting into trouble more times than he even cares to admit.
6. how does your watcher’s past life affect their current actions?
After dealing with Thaos Eloi has actually done his best to try and forget as much of his past life as possible. Being a kind person who is always the first to reach out and help people (and also someone who grew up not being particularly religious, though also not entirely an atheist), it was a real shock for him to learn that he used to commit such awful acts in the name of the gods in his past life. His past life also used to be in love with Iovara so what he did to her especially weighs really heavy on him. In present time Eloi would rather sacrifice himself than to hurt any of the people close to him.
Of course, since he is not able to actually forget everything, despite trying very hard not to dwell on his past life, Eloi is trying possibly even more than ever to be as good as possible and help as many people as he can... often forgetting to look after himself while looking out for others. Some of his companions try to help him unwind and take his mind off of things whenever and however they can, some with better success than others.
13. how does your watcher relate to their culture?
Already answered this one here. :)

pillars of eternity ask! 8, 12, 14 for gaura :)
Thaaanks 💖💖💖
what is the nature of your watcher's awakening?
Answered it here
what does your watcher think about the gods?
Gaura always had a weird relationship with them because of... mommy issues to put it simply, some she liked, some she loathed, but after finding out about their true nature she comes to see them as tools to maintain a world order envisioned by a loathsome empire. She still has some positive feelings to some of them as individuals, but she'll gladly see them all deposed (and/or destroyed) if it means bringing about a world that has the freedom to chart its own course rather than following the trajectory that the Engwithans determined for it.
also she's kinda sorta super anxious over the idea that Magran can eat her soul at any time she feels like it and that it's actually a tangible threat so there is also that
what is your watcher's opinion of iovara?
That's a tricky question. As far as she's concerned Gaura doesn't really know Iovara, she knows her cause and she supports that - but the Inquisitor did know her, she was her best friend and they had some unspoken romantic feelings that didn't come to light until Gaura's lifetime and that kind of complicates her own views on her.

Fan Work Friday
Hey look, I'm actually doing this on a Friday! Tagged by @bragganhyl.
Rules: if you're tagged, make a new post and show off one piece of fanart and one fanfic you like!
Fic: The Dunryd Archives (Pillars of Eternity) by dragonologist_phd (@dragonologist-phd on tumblr)
My mother once told me those names are the people who were cremated in those fireplaces. It’s not as common a practice these days, but back when the Citadel was new and people still worshipped the old gods, it was apparently custom for Magranites to dispose of their dead in that manner. To tell the truth, that always freaked me out a bit. I knew the bodies were already dead and it didn’t matter, but I still had this awful idea that they could still feel it; the flames eating at you, peeling away at your skin, consuming you until just a handful of dust remained. My great-grandparents were cremated, you know- I guess we had some Magranites in the family at some point, and the traditions stuck. Mom showed me the urns when she told me all this, and it just seemed so strange to me. I remembered the time I burned my hand on the stovetop, and how the skin on my fingers and palms blistered off at the heat. How much more heat would it take to reduce a whole person into something that was so easily scooped into a jar?
...so I've never listened to The Magnus Archives. However, AUs that remix canon in a fun way while keeping as much of the lore as possible are My Jam, and this is exactly that. I've been meaning to keep reading this for a while and ended up reading chapters 3 and 4 to make this post specifically, and hooo boy I'm glad I did because apparently I stopped just before the fun stuff started happening.
Fanartist: @ritelli-main
Honestly I just wanted an excuse to show off this art blog? ritelli's art style is really cool and she draws a lot of fun dnd-related characters and environments. This one is Legend of Drizzt fanart (I think), and, while I haven't read the books so I don't have the full context, the colors and shapes are just. Really Cool to me.

Got tagged by @solas-backpack-mug for some heroforge creations and while I don't currently have the time to whip up something completely new, I did adjust my old ass Waidwen figure. 😏
Tumblr media
That thing was in fact so old Heroforge informed me it was using a face palatte that didn't exist anymore.
Maybe I'll sit down and fix up the rest of my Readceran team later, we'll see. But yeah Heroforge is fun to play around with! Anyone interested feel free to consider yourself tagged, it's fun.

(Talesfromthefade) For DWC: "You know how I feel about birthdays"
@dadrunkwriting
@talesfromthefade
Solavellan. Fluff.
Almost a month later and….
Isera dreadsbirthdays. She never understood the point of celebrating the day one was born. Shehas actively avoided telling anyone her birthday as long as she could remember. She was happy to celebrate other’s birthdays. But never her own.
Today is likeany other day. Isera woke up, showered and begin to review her notes beforeclass. Solas wakes up later than she does. He sleeps, but not really. Hisdreams take him far away during the night. An hour later she hears the sound ofrunning water indicating that he has woken up.
Isera beginspacking her bag to leave for campus when Solas emerges from the hallway nakedchest baring and a part of jeans on. “Leaving already?” He questions as hebegins pouring a cup of coffee into a mug. Isera stops to look at him. “FiguredI can study there. Big exam later.” She tells him as she slips on a simpleblack backpack.
He looks ather, mug just before his lips as he hums. “We haven’t gotten breakfast in awhile.” He plainly states as he watches her pull on her booties. Isera giggles.“We rarely get breakfast because you wake up so late!” She exclaims as shewalks over to him the heels of her boots clicking with each step. Solas isquite fond of breakfast food.
She leans upto kiss him but he places the mug to his lips instead and takes a drink whileallowing his free arm snake around her waist. “I am certain I am awake now.Indulge me.” He murmurs and leans down to his her.
Isera smiles.“Are you sure you are awake?” She jokes as she pinches his upper arm with glee.Solas hisses and gently pushes her back. “Clearly,” he dryly responds. “Go getdressed and we will get breakfast!” Isera tells him with a snort as she skipsaway from him and flops onto the couch.
As the sitdown as the empty, small breakfast diner Isera stretches her legs under thetable booth as she chatters away her back facing the door. Solas quietly drinkshis coffee, eyes periodically scanning the diner before asking questions of hisbeloved.
Isera ignoresthe chiming of the door as more and more people enter the diner. She is toointerested in telling Solas about the growing status of a hybrid plant she hascreated. “Vhenan,” Solas speaks up ignoring the frown that appears on Isera’sface at the interruption. “Look over there!” He tells her as he points behindher with a small smile on his face.
She looks athim with confusion before shifting in her sit to look behind.
“SURPRISE!”
Iseragasps and shrinks down into her seat. “Oh Gods!” She whispers as she turns herhead to look at Solas. “You know how I feel aboutbirthdays!” She exclaims in a hushed tone. “Also, I never told you my birthday!”
Solas chuckles as he standsfrom the booth. “Love, you have a twin brother.” He states as he motions forIsera to move out of the booth. “And think of this as his birthday and you are just join along.” He winks at her.
Isera moves from thebooth. “That’s bullshit and you know it!” She pouts. “But fine.” She whispersas he guides her to the other side of the diner.

pillars of eternity ask! 1, 3, 13 for sabina <3
1. What is your watcher's class? How does it relate to their backstory?
In PoE1 Sabina is a rogue, primarily using a rapier. When you're 16 and on the run from scorned noble houses of a crumbling kingdom intent on silencing you, you find yourself in some...unsavory situations. Sabina did what she had to do to not only survive, but keep a low enough profile to avoid drawing the attention of those seeking her. She lived this way for about 7 years, until she could get her hands on an offer that would take her out of Old Vailia and into Gilded Vale in The Dyrwood, where she could start a new life. However, she never lost her roguish skills.
In the 5 years between PoE1 and Deadfire, Sabina formed a close bond with a stag called Eamoc, and by the time Eothas destroyed Caed Nua she had become a Scout (rogue + ranger) with him as her ranger companion. She also added a pistol in one hand to her usual rapier in the other.
3. What are your watcher's likes and dislikes (like the ones poe2 companions have)?
Positive:
Autonomy (weak)
Resourcefulness (strong)
Humor (strong)
Duty (weak)
Anti-Leaden Key (strong)
Negative:
Animal Cruelty (strong)
Pro-Animancy (weak)
Irresponsible (weak)
Pro-Deceit (strong)
13. How does your watcher relate to their culture?
Sabina was born in Old Vailia, and her family has lived there for generations, but they are originally from the Dyrwood. In addition to my hc that the Vailian Republic accent sounds slightly more spanish/italian-inspired while the Old Vailian accent sounds more french-inspired, her family actually passed down their Dyrwoodan accent. This means while she speaks both Aedyran and Vailian natively, she speaks Vailian with a Dyrwoodan accent and Aedyran without a Vailian accent.
Even though her family did not belong to a noble house of Old Vailia, she took great pride in both her heritages, and it greatly saddened her to be, essentially, pushed out of her her homeland. Her Dyrwoodan roots are actually what drew her to Gilded Vale, so it didn't feel like she was starting over completely. In both games she feels strange as she is surrounded by what is almost her culture, in the Republic trading posts and the Principi, as well as when she talks to her friend Pallegina, but isn't quite the same.
It took her several years (so in between games) to shake off her homesickness and embrace her new home as the Lady of Caed Nua, which fit her like a glove. In contrast to her Vailian heritage, living in the Dyrwood felt like rediscovering a lost part of herself. She considers both The Dyrwood and Old Vailia to be her home, and would love to go back to either of them some day.

      Donate
If you’d rather show you care by donating money to a worthy cause, there are plenty of organisations and individuals that need donations.
You can’t go wrong with International Committee of the Red Cross or Médicins Sans Frontieres, both working to reduce suffering in disaster and conflict zones.
  Other organisations for your consideration:
Planned Parenthood
Planned Parenthood provides reproductive health care and education for women at the community level.
  Kiva Microloans
A non-profit allows you to finance small business ventures around the world. Every year, this is our go-to present. The receiver of the gift even gets to chose the loan themselves. Also, when you donate through our link, you give an additional 25 USD for Scandinavia Standard to reinvest (the money goes directly to projects, not to us).
    Activists, Artists & Educators
The more access to information and visual inspiration we have through digital platforms, the more educators, activists and artists are out there providing that information. Many times, they do this for free or very little money – most social platforms aren’t monetised yet (YouTube being an exception). If there’s an activist, artist, or educator that you follow on any of your social channels, inquire as to whether they have a Patreon, Venmo, PayPal, or other form of payment. These payments can be ongoing or one-off. Activists we’re learning from at the moment include Sassy Latte, ShiShi Rose, and Ethincally Jewish.
