I'm sorry but Grian's last stand!!! hello??!?!? My man took on a 3v1 and was fucking WINNING. He lowered all 3 of them by so much! He alone in that fight dropped Scott from 35 to 12 hearts and Gem from 49 down to 5 (+10 for killing Grian) (I've not seen Impulse's ep yet).

But like?? yes King pop OFF

He even fought until his shield BROKE, fighting till the very last minute!!

Say what you want about this man and his easy flightiness with alliances when they begin to break apart, but this man had a mission and he fucking delivered on it and we stan a committed man

He managed to hold his own against a very good PVP player and he fucking owned it

The tragedy of it? He knew he wasn't going to win. Of course he wouldn't against the best PVP player in the server, a previous winner, and Impulse who consistently performs well in these games. He was surrounded, taking and blocking hits from all directions, throwing himself into the fray when he could have just walked away and waited for a better moment. But no, taking and giving swing after swing, fighting until the very wood of his shield splinters and breaks. He wasn't expecting to win, he could never win with how low his hearts were, but he knew he could bring them part of the way down with him. He just knew Gem and the Scots couldn't be left with their abundance of hearts, and my man sacrificed himself to make sure other players had a fighting chance.

Without him, Gem probably would have won with her stacked hearts

I hope the community milks the ever-loving shit out of this moment

Having a wild Saturday night reading scripts again (and, in all fairness, drinking some very nice rum) and there is actually more to that scene between Goodsir and Hickey at the sick-bay door perceiving one another.

For starters, the scene was originally to take place with Hickey having his poor lacerated arse entirely out on show for Goodsir to salt and redress which is just very funny to me.

We also see Goodsir noted as being uncomfortable taking a compliment from Hickey (whereas he is pleased to have one from MacDonald later on - another reflection of how he views and values Hickey? A wee foreshadowing of classism perhaps?)

They also acknowledge that they are the only two people thus far to have seen Tuunbaq and lived to tell the tale.

Harking back to a specific mention Silna made while they were still having their English/Inuktitut lessons on Erebus (also deleted), Goodsir cannot resist asking Hickey if he saw Tuunbaq's hands although he doesn't receive an answer...

The society had been sitting around for a few minutes, and, clearly, things were not about to change unless someone took action. The zipline had been ready to be used for quite a while now, but it was still very precarious. Even the unstoppable daredevil that was Kate seemed unsure about this. Sticky would not stop polishing his glasses. Reynie was just waiting, though it was unsure whether he expected one of the others (Kate) to finally make a move, or just to come back inside. And Constance, well, she really, really didn't like waiting. If they stayed there too long, someone would eventually come by and put an end to the whole experience (experience that would then eventually come to Number 2's ears who would just forbid them from ever using the Zipper.)

"Rock paper scissors."

The little girl having finally broken the silence, all eyes were turned on her, half expectant, half apprehensive.

"Rock, paper, scissors. The game. To know who's going first. Do you need a poem about it?"

"I think it'll be okay Constance."

"To think that I will not have to wait all day,

If only you nitwits get your act together and play.

Dear, I might even not die of boredom

If you would just-"

"Rock, paper, scissors it is !" Kate had joyfully cut off the recitation, perhaps a bit forcefully, but the boys weren't about to protest. "Who am I doing it with?"

The six-year old mock-thought for a second before answering.

"Reynie and Sticky."

"Wait, wait, wait. All three of us are going? I don't think that's really-"

"Adapt or die, George."

After a sigh from the boy, who didn't even bother arguing back anymore, the three of them started to get settled. Kate had already jumped there as soon as she'd heard her opponents name and was quite literally bouncing in place, while both Reynie and Sticky looked more hesitant, arguing that this was most definitely not work only to be shushed each time they tried to speak up.

Eventually, their three balled fists were in the center of the triangle, and, smirking, Constance cleared her voice.

"1... 2....... 3!"

honestly sick of ppl implying I just can’t handle character death in fiction

I watched every season of Game of Thrones, dude. Only one of my faves survived that show. I am not scared of characters dying.

#I read the books too so I was invested in them beyond the show!#I regularly reread and sob over a death in my fave book series #it was so poignant and sad but it fit. it made sense. it impacted the other characters meaningfully #but not every death scene is going to be a winner

The Hogan’s Heroes episode tournament is really interesting because like. the first 5 minutes of “That’s No Lady, That’s My Spy”? Stellar. Amazing. Some of the best scenes in the whole series. But the rest of the episode, for me, is just sorta…ok, in my opinion. After those first five minutes (or so), the rest of the episode kinda pales in comparison, especially given the way they all move on and forget about those first five minutes. As a result, I find it a very unbalanced episode in regards to the question of which episode is the best.

Which brings me to the question of, at what point do I stop voting for it? 🤔
