A 12-page IWTV (2022 series) fancomic about the Vampire Armand, Daniel, Devil’s minion era, sex, drugs and rock n' roll.

This comic is based on my partner's brilliant fanfiction. They wished to remain anonymous, but the story idea was theirs. I am just a humble servant.
Neither of us speak English as our first language, so of course after finishing I see a hundred things to tweak in the dialogue... but decided to leave it the way it is, for now. So! If you, dear reader, find clunky sentences and weird mistakes and would possibly like to help us in the future, send me an ask. ;-)
My partner said that banging in an elevator while listening T.Rex on repeat is a plothole because they couldn't do that, but I disagree. They would find a way.
Idk where Louis is - probably left Dubai. Daniel got some of his memories back, not sure how yet. Lots of inspiration was taken from GrayGiantess' fics, but this work is not based on them (just an encouragement for everyone to read them).
I got into this ship, like, less than 100 hours ago. I got possessed by a demon, blinked, and suddenly I made a comic. I have seen the first season of the IWTV 2022 adaptation and everything else I know about the canon is hearsay, whispers in the forest and an Eldritch demon telling me its tales. Consider me as a little fledgling.
And finally, the songs in order by T.Rex are: Get it on, 20th Century Boy, Free Angel and Cosmic Dancer. Rest in piece, Marc Bolan, and thank you for everything.

I’ve been very sick recently and missed it but happy joining iwtv fandom anniversary to myself. I officially started posting about iwtv on October 11, 2022. Since then I:
Have met many wonderful people.
Have made some some incredibly meaningful friendships. 💕
Have felt a joy and interest in something in a way that has really made my worst days better.
Have published 41 iwtv fics since November 9, 2022.
Have some very cool ao3 stats that show me I’ve written more for this fandom is almost a year than I’ve written for any other fandom. My word count for this year alone is ridiculous.
Wrote and am almost finished with my multi chapter fic Suckerpunch. I love my coffee boys so much. ☕️💌❤️
Participated in my very first Vamptember.
Currently participating in my very first kinktober ever.
Have so many more fics planned to write. The ideas are endless and the execution although slow is in fact happening.
Have enjoyable experiences every single day chatting with like minded and kind people who make me smile and laugh.
And I am very much looking forward to what comes next.

this year i wrote 172,177 words in total across approximately 19 WIPS (15 fic, 4 original) and i posted 12 fics amounting to 205,547 words
first of all, my favourites, my children, my pride and joys...
A place you can never go (85k words, fandom: Hannibal)
(and its informal prequel and alternate pov companion piece)
this fic was my #1 pride and joy of the year, and likely will be for a long time to come. i started writing this fic in August, 2022 and it became a whole different creature from my original idea but i am beyond happy with how it turned out. i think it is the best thing ive ever written. i have a really warm and fuzzy feeling looking back on it, despite the angsty concept lol
Put a little love here in my void (53k, fandom: Interview with the Vampire)
I posted this fic as i wrote it not expecting it to get much attention, which made this one a bit overwhelming and confirmed to me that i much prefer to have my fics totally pre-written before posting. that being said, it was one of the most satisfying stories to write! almost every chapter gave me trouble and almost every time i figured it out in the end in a way that just felt right. i fell off of this universe a bit before i could add more to it, but i suspect season 2 of iwtv might be motivating...

The moon's a skull, I think it's grinning - a more plot-driven 'case' fic with lots of trauma exploration. i am so drawn in by the dark themes in the manga and i really enjoyed researching for and writing this one

38. If you read fanfiction, do you have any favorites?
I have a lot of favs and this is a very incomplete list:
Louis visits an elderly Benjamin, like if any fic would to be like filmed and added to the show this is the one I could most easily see doing it. Just mind blowing in terms of characterization and dialogue especially for a character we never see speak; made me tear up.
I almost don't wanna say anything about this one just know it's incredible in ways you won't even expect. Danlou noir propaganda is so strong actually.
How does one even describe House? Literally how does one even begin to talk about it. Choose your own path through it. Get haunted. You just gotta go in.
Pretty much THE modern Leslou au. Like. Transferring the dynamic so flawlessly and also SUCH good Claudia stuff as well.
Just gorgeous. The whole series is. Also love the way the prose itself engages with/ departs from pronoun usage in some areas: also made me tear up a bit.
You ever read something so good it kinda makes you mad. Like something that seems just like almost insulting geared to you? Yeah this is mine.
Gonna be blunt here not only is this really really incredibly written but it's super hot. Like. Chapter 2 oh my god it's not even finished yet.
Rounding this off with a must-read Claudia piece. Like goddamn.

You said you think we're on the Merrick timeline. What do you mean by that?
well, it's complicated. I know I'm not the only one who thinks it, as I've seen other people theorize about it on here, but my general take on the show's timeline is that we are....jumping throughout the books moreso than working linearly through them.
things that are immediately, and drastically, different in the show than the book are the timeframe we are working within as well as the interview itself. these are things we know; in the book, Louis and Lestat are both children of the 1700s. we also know that when Louis meets Daniel in the 1970s, Daniel publishes the interview as a book that becomes a phenomenon and a book that Lestat discovers upon waking up in the 1980s, leading him to write and publish his own life story, The Vampire Lestat.
the show is -- not that. Lestat is still our child of the 1700s, but Louis is more a 1900s boy (born in the super-late 1800s), their story is taking place in the 1900s, and it appears, from what we've seen and what we know so far, that the interview in the 1970s was never finished and, therefore, not published.
this in turn has us on a weird timeframe, made weirder by the focus of 2022!louis and armand still being together (anyone that knows their breakup in iwtv knows that this....shouldn't be happening). so, it has us all wondering where we are, what's happened already, what's set to happen next, etc.
I can't tell you what's happened already. I've seen some theories that rockstar!Lestat has already happened (that seems. pretty unlikely? but maybe?), I've seen some theories Memnoch has already happened (! and I kind of agree, just hear me out), I've seen some theories that we're heading into Prince Lestat soon (also something I've thought about!), etc.
here is a general guess though: I think that, whatever has happened, Lestat's absence in 2022 is due to him being in one of his sleeps, his comas, like he falls into at the end of Memnoch (hence why I do think Memnoch already happening is a slight possibility). and I think that Louis sticking his hand into the sun in episode 1 for Daniel to see and Armand's comments about Daniel chronicling Louis' suicide are both foreshadowing Louis attempting to kill himself at the end of season 2, an act that will ultimately wake Lestat up from his sleep coma, just as what happens in Merrick, and eventually lead to the ability for him to tell his life story after saving Louis.
edit: you want to hear how I think season 2 is going to end? I think Louis is going to step into the sun, accept his death, and I think the audio (which will probably have Daniel and/or Armand yelling after him, maybe even Claudia's voice calling out to him from beyond) fade out and we're only going to hear his heartbeat slow and slow and slow. and then I think, as the heartbeat is still slowing, the camera is going to do one of those 'rush across the the Dubai apartment, down into the street, over the ocean, etc.' kind of things to where Lestat is. and just as Louis' heartbeat comes to a stop, Lestat's heartbeat is going to pick up in the same rhythm and then his eyes are going to open. end season. after all, Lestat and Louis' hearts beat in sync (canon ! <3) and it would be poetic as we hear that in the finale of season 1.

Even though it's not finished, the lastest chapter Man of My Adoration is very angsty and it's a cliffhanger.

I write fluff so most of my fics have happy endings!

Not really. I write rare pairs so a lot of people aren't reading them in the first place.

No. I’m not entirely sure how that would work, but I’d be open to it.
All time favourite ship?
Why do people insist you have to have one favourite over everything else? No, I’m an adult, I can have as many OTPs as I want.
What’s a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
Beneath Lucifer’s claws. I love this story so much, but I have it in me to finish it. I also have an old ATLA fic I love to bits, that has really neat bits but I was such a different person when I wrote it, it would need a complete rewrite and half of my favourite scenes don’t really work anymore.
What are your writing strengths?
I’ve been told my pacing is good. And I think I’m quite good at characters voices right when it comes to fanfic.
What are your writing weaknesses?
Punctuation. And I definitely suffer from ‘why use a period when I can use a comma’ disease XD. Scene transitions always feel clumsy to me, I don’t know if they read like it.
Thoughts on dialogue in another language?
Oh, there’s an essay. If I were to give general advice I’d say, avoid it. It’s fun to read when you speak the language and annoying if you don’t, having to look up stuff all the time interrupts the reading flow. It’s even more annoying when you speak the language and the author clearly didn’t.
I’ve seen it done well once, where it was used so the characters couldexchange information because that was the natural thing to do for them, while keeping it a secret from the reader. That was neat. 'But even that could be done by just saying 'he said something in [language]'.
First fandom you wrote in?
Published or not? My first published fic was Jack’s Desk for mfmm. But I also still have fifteen year old supernatural and vampire diaries fics in a notebook somewhere. The world wasn’t ready yet.
Favourite fic you’ve written?
Something unstoppable and Somewhere I have never travelled. Neither of them came out the way I thought they would but I love how they ended up so much.

Luce and TVC
I first got into TVC when I was 14, which is almost 21 years ago. My 13yo foster sister and I were completely obsessed with Buffy the Vampire Slayer.
I was aware that there was a vampire movie with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt and wanted to see it. I have a much older half-sister and the three of us ended up having a movie night at her house. We watched Interview With the Vampire and The Blair Witch Project.
We were all very 👁👁 throughout the entire movie. Then I bought a boxset of the first four books, foster sister and inhaled the first three books, watched the QotD movie and got very pissed off by how terrible it was. 😂
We were like, "Guess we'll always have the books 🤷♀️". I ordered TVA, because QotD had left me completely Armand-obsessed, and started reading Tale of the Body Thief.
I don't remember quite what it was, but Lestat says something at the start of TotBT that my 14yo self just thought was so stupidly retconny that I went, "Yeah, fuck that". I think it was something about how he only ate bad guys and that that was somehow in service of Jesus? Whatever it was, I wasn’t having it, so I put it down and never picked it back up. 😂
Then in my late teens/early twenties I followed Anne Rice on Facebook for a while, but I got kinda creeped out when she started addressing everyone with 'dearest People of the Page'. I distinctly remember thinking, "Lady, I'm here for gay vampire reasons, not to be in a cult". 😅 So I unfollowed her and spent about a decade not thinking about TVC very much at all.
AND THEN in early summer of 2022 the YouTube algorithm informed me that AMC was making an IWTV show. I reread IWTV and in October thought, "Let’s give this a go."
I had my reservations because I still remembered my teenage rage at the QotD movie, and I wasn't sure how I felt about them changing the time period and casting 'some old guy' as Daniel (sorry Eric! 🙈).
BUT THEN Jacob came on all, "Dear Mr. Molloy, did you know you can orgasm just from hearing a man's voice? Wanna finish what we started half a century ago?" and my head just about exploded!
This is the second interview?! They’re revisiting it 49 years later?! OMGGG, that's the most genius storytelling move in the history of storytelling! 😱
I watched ep2 right after and then desperately needed to yell about the show with other sickos. So I joined Twitter and started reading fic again (which I'd only really done when I was 17 and obsessed with that wizard school franchise), started writing fic, joined fic-themed group chats/Discords and made a Tumblr so I could (lovingly) yell at other fic writers.
And now I've published over 150k words in fic and there's IWTV fan art all over my house. 😂
So it was really the show that made me come back to stay. It's just thee best TV show of all time to me.
And as much as this fandom can be a shit show, it's really helped me stay sane while grappling with my long covid, which has left me very incapacitated in many other areas of my life.
Luce's headcanons
Asking me for my headcanons has the same effect as asking me for my favorite movies or songs in that it immediately makes me forget any headcanons I ever had. 😂
You're right that I write a lot of them into my fics, which are mainly me exploring my headcanons and asking myself what if...? I have a couple others, though I'm not sure these are really headcanons or more actual theories, though, so I apologize if this wasn't what you were looking for.
- I've mentioned this one before, but Louis and Lestat had a grand old time during their honeymoon phase between Louis getting turned and Louis almost eating Grace's baby. I think people tend to make too big a deal out of Louis being an unreliable narrator but it's a little too convenient how quickly he skips over those 6-7 years. I think he doesn’t like to think about how much fun he had with Lestat just having all the sex, getting super rich and eating whoever the fuck he wanted.
- Daniel isn’t going to give a single fuck about the ethics of killing people in order to survive once he finally becomes a vampire. We already know he’s selfish and a hypocrite. I can just see him fully ready to view all humans as savory inferiors once he’s no longer one of them.
- If show!Daniel ever met Marius, he would punch him in the face. 🤭
- Santiago is going to be SO jealous of Louis's relationship with Armand. I don't care if Santiago and Armand end up having zero homoerotic tension between them on screen, they're fucking to me.
- I'm also a Claudeline truther. Show!Claudia doesn’t need a parental figure the way book!Claudia does but she very much yearns for romantic love, and she did say Charlie was the last boy she'd ever love, and went after the woman when Lestat asked her if she wanted the Mr. or the Mrs. in ep7.

Red on Maroon
A 16-page IWTV (2022) fancomic about the vampire Armand and journalist Daniel Molloy visiting the Mark Rothko retrospective in 2024 Paris.
Content mentions & warnings:
The comic depicts Daniel’s internalized ableism. Rothko’s suicide is acknowledged but not discussed in detail. There’s angst, talk about kink and lots of fluff.
Louis is mentioned as well as Daniel’s daughters. Marius is not named but is hinted at. The comic is set up in post-Dubai-interview time and based on my knowledge about s1 of AMC’s IWTV with sprinkles of book canon.

The Rothko retrospective can be visited until 2nd of April of 2024 in Louis Vuitton Foundation. I visited the place in January, so the comic’s surroundings are a mix of memories and some image searches, but in no way fully accurate. Since visiting Paris next week is probably not an option for most people, the foundation has a very cool free app, where you can listen to an audio guide about Rothko and paintings in the exhibition. Since I am Finnish and I found out that one of LVF’s first exhibition had some Finnish painter’s work, ofc I had to include them… Page 14 has Schjerfbeck’s “Dancing Shoes” and Gallen-Kallela’s “Kullervo Cursing”.
Ok finally some headcanon stuff: in my head, while writing this comic, I imagined Daniel having accepted the dark gift from Armand, but both of them wanting him to live as a human as long as possible to enjoy the benefits of a… mortal body. :’D Since, you know, vampirism is forever anyway, so why not enjoy the variety of bodily fluids, body heat, aches and weirdness of aging? While having a chronic illness is shitty, his life is not, and while his disability marginalizes him, there’s a perspective there, a person living and enjoying things, allowed to take space and feel his thoughts develop from these changes (that also affect over 6 million people around the world with Parkinson’s).
After finishing the comic I am not so sure if Daniel is going to be turned into a vampire after all. So your guesses are as good as mine, would love to hear your suggestions, hehe!
I wish we knew more about Daniel’s daughters! I just came up with something here because I wanted to draw them and wanted to see their dynamics as a family.
I have now read the Devil’s Minion part from Queen of the Damned as a separate short story and appreciate the TV show’s changes to Daniel even more. I can’t wait for S2…..

at first I thought five was wayy too many, but I'm realizing I wrote a lot of oneshots this year

All chapters posted in 2022 anyway <3 I don't know how all this plot formed around my smut explosion, but here we are.
Permanence (2,608 words) | Complete
I love the immortals in love concept beyond all reason and I want to write more of it.
also! this was accidentally the 10,000th fic in the Harry Potter | Tom Riddle/Voldemort tag, which is neat
Sola Fide (7,920 words) | complete
This is pure romantic self indulgence
Inside (3,411 words) | complete
Some of my best writing ever. Getting as descriptive as possible is why I write and this served as a big reminder. Mind the tags

THREE IMPROVEMENTS:
I've learned to relax my editing process a little. I used to spend... honestly I don't want to think about how many hours I've spent editing. It was more than a full time job. But lately I've been putting a limit on it, and I don't think the quality has dropped significantly.
I've written a lot of oneshots for friends and that has added so much to my fandom time. Circle of enablement <3
I'm giving crack a try and wow what took me so long? It's so much fun

Write more Tom-centric fics, rather than focusing on Harry (I'm already pretty good at this but Tom deserves more love)
Write ahead a lot more before posting new chapters 😌

“Talk Radio”, 1988. One of the first movies I rented. I was around 13 and I rented the video (this was the time when you had to rent movies on VHS cassette) because the man on the cover caught my eye and I was interested in radio journalism at the time.
I think I was too young to understand the movie fully...
But in 2022 (after IWTV S1 had finished airing) I was MINDBOGGLED to find out Eric Bogosian/Daniel Molloy was that same guy who had so caught my eye on that VHS cover.
