Also increasingly aware that a LOT of people "manage" getting through the 40+ hour work week by sleeping less than is healthy and relying on stimulants like coffee and energy drinks to keep them going.

For people who are unwilling or unable to do this...work really does just dominate your life. Like we really should not have to rely on unhealthy practices just to have a social life or keep on top of housework or whatever.

I know I post about this a lot but I'm so TIRED all the time and it's just so depressing that this is how we're expected to spend the one life we have.

#i have to get at least 8 hours of sleep a night to even barely function #with sleep #getting ready for work #commute #cooking #and errands #I typically have maybe 2-3 hours to actually do what i want in a day #and I'm usually too tired to actually do the things i want to do #and that's with a very short commute #if i actually had a long commute I'd basically do nothing but work #i see my friends like once every few weeks or months #because we're all so fucking busy with work and have such little time for socialising #and none of us even have kids or anything!!

REALLY want to legit learn how to sew. I can't just buy myself things for various reasons, so I'm always looking at, like, how to make dinner with random shit around the house, how to alter clothes since they WILL fit differently from 2013 (because I only own old things and hand me downs), how to repair things at home, and I really just want to have things I like to wear without resorting to fast fashion or even shipping stuff to my friends and picking it up that way. I bought one jacket off of amazon as my, like, single purchase of the last five months and I feel really bad about it (which is silly and I know it, but alas), and I just really want to be able to sew actual garments on my own. Do I need another hobby right now? Not really but we'll see.

#saw some posts about how basically this website is dying for one reason or another #and like usually I’m like hell yeah stick it to the corporations!!!#but one thing a lot of people don’t realize is that the amount of measures it takes to run a business in tech #is really…a lot #and to have 0 marketing involved to generate revenue is even worse #social media is a free service for the sole reason that users are technically a ploy to advertise to #what users here basically did was demand that tumblr provide to us while also remain minimal in their advertising #which basically means they aren’t generating revenue conventionally #blazing posts and purchasing check marks were a temporary problem to a long term solution #if this website requested to be ran the same way AO3 and wiki does users would immediately attack staff #it’s a really shit situation but also tumblr shouldn’t have listened so much to their users #the net worth of tumblr isn’t worth much to investors given all this unless #i should also add that gated communities (like discord) has negatively impacted the amount of users on this site #less users means less interaction with content creators (dominantly artists)#less content creators means less content #u guys get the gist #I’d like to add to question every business related explanation on this website #y’all can complain to hell and back about tumblr but it was one of the lesser evils as far as ads went

Wow turns out there's a reason every lawyer I'd ever met told me "don't be a lawyer."

#seven months into practice #most junior attorney at a litigation boutique #I've never felt more incompetent in my life #I felt pretty on top of things until last month #made a few mistakes and they keep coming #fortunately they're all different mistakes - not making the same ones twice #but jesus fucking christ #I spend probably an hour every day just worrying they're going to get rid of me #also it looks like the senior associate is leaving #which our firm structure is weird #but he's basically the only person in a mentorship role #and I feel like if he leaves I'm actually going to cry #because I feel so lost and the partners are all so busy #also my billing is shit because I'm so sad and stressed I keep just having non billable chunks of my day #which is me stressing out and just feeling bad #which isn't productive at all #stereotypical lawyer lmfao #I keep waking up at 3-4am with nightmares about my cases #I dream about work almost every night #usually fucking something up or getting fired or losing something important #I just want things to feel under control again #not spiraling just beyond my grasp #I've heard this is normal which is helpful in a small way #but consider: knowing it's normal doesn't make the actual feeling less shit

i should take bets on whether i’m gonna get tattoo flu before i have my appointment because it’s gonna be a BIG tattoo on my shoulder and underbust and ribs. and i wanna see what faith people have in my immune system
