You were lucky when it came to planning what to do for Penguin's birthday. There was a carnival in town so you and Penguin went along with Shachi and Bepo.

It wasn't a big carnival, but there were still a few rides and plenty of games.

Since there were so many games, it didn't take long for some friendly competition to start. The four of you decided to see who could win the most games throughout the day (which Bepo won).

Before you all decided to leave, you and Penguin split off from the group to ride the ferris wheel. It seemed a bit cliche, but there was still something romantic about a ferris wheel ride as the sun started to set. It was the perfect end to a great day.

Update: finished season 2 the other day. Holy shit it’s such a good show

For Shachi's birthday, the day started with the two of you going out to lunch together. It wasn't often that the two of you got to go out as just the two of you. Normally Penguin and Bepo were with you, but they agreed to let you guys have some couple time.

However, after lunch, you two went to meet up with Penguin and Bepo at an arcade.

None of you were particularly good at any of the games, but it was still a lot of fun. It even got a bit competitive when it came to air hockey.

The four of you were there until you were able to try out every game.

Overall, it was a day full of a lot of fun and laughs which was just what Shachi wanted for his birthday.

Actually making the breakfast took longer than it should have because of a brief argument with Marco. He kept trying to take the bacon that you cooked.

Thankfully Thatch was still asleep when you got back to your room. However, once he smelled the food he started to wake up.

"What is all this?" He asked as he sat up in bed. "Birthday breakfast in bed," I said with a smile. I sat the tray down before joining him in bed again. "You really got up just to make me breakfast?" He asked. "I wanted to do something special for you," I said. "You always cook for everyone else. Thought you'd like it if someone cooked for you for a change." He leaned over and kissed me softly. "Thank you, baby," he said.

Law and I had it handled. Why, why did you have to get involved.

Big Mom was finally defeated. I could make it over to Emery. Last I saw she took a hit and was trying to get out of the way. Now she was lying on the floor. Blood was pooling around her body from a gash in her stomach.

I knew you were hurt, but not this bad...

I dropped to my knees next to her. She was still breathing, but it was shallow. I took her hand in mine as gently as I could.

"Hey, Em, you're gonna be okay...you have to be okay," I said.

Her eyes opened halfway and focused on me. Even like this she still managed a slight smile, just for me.

"Did you beat her?" She asked. her voice was quiet and strained.

"Yeah, yeah, we beat her," I said.

"Good," she said.

She tried taking a deep breath, but even just by looking at her I could tell it was a struggle. She blinked and a few tears slipped from her eyes.

"You'll celebrate for me, won't you?" She asked.

"What? No, we'll celebrate together. Just like we always do," I said.

She shook her head.

"I don't think so, not this time," she said, her voice growing more strained each passing second.

"Don't leave me...please..." I said.

It was more than just a statement. It was a plea.

Emery was the only one that managed to get this closer to me. Closer than my crew, closer than even Killer. She had managed to become my world and now that world was starting to break apart.

"Tell Killer and Adeline I'm sorry," she said.

"Emery, don't-" she cut me off.

"I love you," she said quietly. "I always will."

"I love you more, always..." I said, my voice cracked as I spoke.

With one last smile, her hand went limp in mine, and it felt like time stood still. I felt numb and all I could do was stare at her face.

It wasn't long until I heard footsteps coming into the room, followed by Adeline's screams. I didn't have to say anything and she already knew.

I heard footsteps get closer before Adeline was dropping to her knees next to me. Neither of us were affectionate people, but she leaned her head on my shoulder as she cried and that was enough to break me.
