Hey guys! I was thinking of writing a Fanfic and wanted to see if anyone was interested.

Basic Summary

So what if Snotlout had been raised by dragons?

We know that Berk abandons runt children, so what if Snotlout had been a runt and Spitelout left him on top of a mountain to be eaten by dragons?

What if Snotlout had been found by Hookfang and his parents?

So fast forward 15 years and Snotlout is The Dragon Prince. He is known throughout the Archipelago for his daring dragon rescues and that he is a dragon rider. He and all the dragons he saves live in “The Haven” on a distant island near the edge of the Archipelago. Dragons no longer attack humans because Snotfang killed the Red Death. But vikings still attack wild dragons to train with ( they have to use dummies because they can’t catch any for longer that a week) so the dragons use self-defence. None of the gangs dragons got used in the academy because as soon as they were caught Snotlout freed them. Hookfang didn’t get caught because he was out rescuing some deadly nadders with Snotlout that day.

So what’s happening with the other riders you ask? Well, Snotlout saw that the twins were unhappy and unappreciated on Berk so he made a deal with them that they could live in the Haven if they helped him free dragons. They accepted and met Barf and Belch. They agreed because they met Snotlout when Hiccup shot down Toothless. He didn’t go looking because he thought he missed but the twins were in the woods the next day and saw a masked figure freeing Toothless. They saw Hookfang carry Toothless away and watched for any signs of the masked man for weeks before they went to live in the Haven.

Astrid is still a Viking warrior but she and Hiccup are a bit closer that in the Original Universe (pre Toothless). She’s basically the same as film 1 Astrid but a bit more bloody. She got scared when the twins went missing and kind of bonded with Hiccup.

Hiccup is still like film 1 Hiccup but without Toothless. They do meet eventually though! He’s thrown himself into dragon training and is actually doing ok. But then again he is fighting straw dummies.

Fishlegs is a bit different the cannon. He’s darker and more gutsy then film 1 Fishlegs. He’s got scars and is pretty violent by the time he’s 15.

So another time skip, about five more years. The gang are all 20 and the Viking Chiefs are having a meeting to discuss the problem of the Dragon Prince who has gained more Dragon followers. Stoick attends the meeting with Hiccup, Fishlegs and Astrid as all three have had small run-ins with him.

Astrid saw him feeding Hookfang by a stream on Berk.

Hiccup saw him free a Zippleback from the academy.

Fishlegs saw him lots over the years. Everything from stealing the book of dragons to flying over Berk with two new dragon riders.

But halfway through the meeting Snotlout burst through the door and tries to convince the chiefs to give his way of life a chance. The Chiefs are uneasy so Snotlout says “What if one member of a tribe comes and lives with me for a week? Then they return to you and tell you everything?”

The Chiefs agree.

They decide that each tribe will volunteer one warrior and then have a vote. The Hooligans volunteer Fishlegs and he is chosen to go.

In love with how the gang interacts with one another's dragons.

Like, these dragons are their friends too just as much as their own are.

Tuffnut will give Toothless high fives and talk to him, Astrid will bring Hookfang fish and laugh with him at Snotlout and they'll give each other's dragons nicknames and communicate with them like friends and Hiccup will be sassy at Barf and Belch and he loves all dragons so so much but especially the ones he bonded with first and they're so close to him and one of the riders will look after Meatlug if Fishlegs is unavailable and share a look with Toothless when Hiccup is being stupid and they'd get so protective of Hookfang, Tuffnut will tell them bedtime stories and Snotlout will vent to them and Hiccup treats them like one would humans and Fishlegs will infodump about something to them and Astrid will give them The Look™️ that she gives her friends if they're being stupid and Ruffnut will involve them in her prank plans and they all talk to one another's dragon like those dragons are their best friends and any of them would recognize one another's dragons even in hoards of wild monstrous nightmares or nadders or gronckles or zipplebacks

I'm just so normal about the gang and their dragons.

In the majority of the Httyd franchise Snotlout is trying so hard to be what he thinks people want from him. Which is why I love his development in rtte so much because he is always so scared of being unimportant to people but then he has to actually confront his deep fears and anxieties and reconcile with parts of himself he pretends doesn’t exist. And then he is able to see that he desires his own approval over the approval of others even if the two goals overlap occasionally. Then he is able to become the best version of himself and the best version of him is the one that is kindest to himself
