actually so important to me with the context of that bobby past is prologue conversation with buck in the truck "you just go with the flow and find yourself in a relationship with no idea how you got there" that it wasn't smooth sailing for bucktommy. tommy didn't kiss him and ask him out on a date and it all went well that was it. buck fucked it up then made the choice himself to actively pursue this relationship because he really fucking likes tommy and. this time, this time he's going to know exactly how he got there.

I wrote Eddie and Buck running into each other again (2nd time post hook up) at a coffee shop and I had to fight the urge not to share the whole damn scene because for some reason I just really like it. So instead have just a small smackerel.

Eddie grabs the door for him and follows him outside and Buck really should get back to the engine because Chim and Hen without the right amount of caffeine and sugar in their systems can quickly become dangerous. But with Eddie’s eyes focused on him he finds his feet unwilling to move.

“I know you have to go and caffeinate the troops,” Eddie wets his lips and Bucks eyes immediately track the movement, “but I just wanted to say it was good to see you. Unexpected, but uh good.”

“Yeah?”

Eddie opens his mouth but the engine horn suddenly blares, startling them both so much that Buck almost drops the coffee in his hands.

“Let’s go Buckaroo!”

Buck contemplates dropping Chim’s coffee and claiming it as an accident.

Eddie chuckles. “I’ll take that as my queue to leave. It really was good to see you Buck.” And then he’s walking away and Buck doesn’t want him to go.

“Eddie!” Eddie pauses and turns around and suddenly Buck’s nervous. Every time he’s extended a hand out to someone he’s even the slightest bit interested in after hooking up with, it’s been left hanging awkwardly in the air or slapped away. But he likes the way Eddie’s smile makes him feel and even if Eddie was just being polite, it couldn’t hurt to be honest, right? “It uh - it was really good to see you too.”

The words are simple but Buck feels like he’s just unfastened a part of his armour and exposed his heart to whatever weapon Eddie is brandishing.

Eddie doesn’t launch an arrow or throw a dagger though, instead he smiles, which is twice as deadly but in a whole other way. His eyes are crinkled from how wide his smile is, canines of full display and it leaves Buck’s heart stuttering.

Buck visiting Tommy and complaining about his car making a weird noise and having to bring it to the mechanic for the 3rd time in as many months.

His jeep is getting a bit old now but it’s filled with memories and he refuses to change it.

Tommy who go trained on various vehicles throughout his life. A neighbor teaching him when he was a teenager. Training at the army. Training at the fire academy and then flying academy.

He’s been tinkering in various machineries for years and he’s not going to let a simple jeep best him. Buck is happy to let Tommy look at it, it will save him some money he could use otherwise. Like for a date maybe.

The issue tho? It’s that Tommy has working clothes, and by working clothes I mean an old pair of jeans, covered in old oil stains, a white tank top which is clean but has old stains that dried, but still quite white, and some heavy boots in case something fall on his feet. It happened before and Tommy learned from it.

Buck never thought jeans would drive him insane, but the way it curves around Tommy’s thighs? The way a black stains is just under his left cheek like he rubbed himself there to clean his hand, actually Buck can even divine the form of fingers on that stains and it’s calling to him.

To forget about the heat pooling inside him he gets close to the car and Tommy who just opened it and moving things around and just watch, until he says “you know, my dad never taught me anything about cars. Is it weird?”

And Tommy just goes “you wanna learn?” With a soft smile, just offering, no judgement whatever Buck decides

And so Tommy work and talk during the whole process, he knows Buck loves knowledge, trivia, information and Tommy is more than happy to info dump his boyfriend for once.

Once Tommy fix what the issue was, it was just regular stuff but a mechanic would have either ignore it so Buck would come back and spend more or spend only like 30 minutes on it to fix it since it was quite simple.

They get clean together, Tommy getting his regulars clothes back on him while Buck has to change bc he got some stains on him even just while looking but it doesn’t care about it. The price was more than worth paying.

And then they go on Tommy’s couch, Buck still doesn’t have one but he doesn’t need one anymore, not when Tommy’s so comfy. Tommy who pick up the remote while Buck get some snack ready for them and he goes through the channels until he reaches National Geographic and it’s the opening for a new documentary about volcanoes and he gets distracted from the tv when Buck comes back with their drink so he doesn’t change the channel and then see how Buck is already entranced by it even 3 minutes after the opening, and he’s gonna ask if Buck want to watch it when Buck goes “did you know that the biggest volcano in on mars?”

And Tommy knows he doesn’t have to ask anymore, he just hums while picking some food off the coffee table and listen to every facts from Buck and watches him get so animated as they watch it

Buck even going against what the narrator is saying and being right about it when the narrator a few minutes later elaborate more which goes toward what Buck was saying and Tommy is just so smitten by his clever boy. Kissing him on his temple and pulling him against his side while Buck keep randomly shoutings facts and going on his phone to assess the veracity of what the narrator is talking about.

They spend their evening like that, documentaries replacing one an other, Buck leaning against him and talking freely for hours, showing Tommy how interesting the world can be.

Tommy refilled Buck's glass of beer, paid the check, put a reassuring hand on the small of his back, called him adorable, smiled and looked at him like he hung the moon, reassured him once again (telling him that he had nothing to apologize for), agreed to be his date to Madney's wedding, cradled his hand gently.

WIP Wednesday

Completely forgot this in the drafts so its not actually Wednesday but anyways. As always, tagged by the wonderful @scknight05 (go check out his fic on ao3!).

Buck gets a new boyfriend. Eddie reacts to this in a completely normal and sane way.

Buck laughs again and God, Eddie thinks. He sounds so happy, so fond, so in love. Eddie's never heard Buck call anyone baby before. The pear gets crushed in his fist. He doesn't even notice it. He doesn't notice it because Buck is leaning down to kiss Riley. And...Buck is tall. Eddie and him are only a few inches apart and he knows that when they're standing together, it's not that jarring but Buck is objectively taller and bigger. It's just that he's never realized how tall and big he actually is to others until he sees him with Riley now.

Riley is…small. Buck has to duck down low and Riley has to get on his toes, pulling himself up with his hands around Buck's neck to reach him and Buck has to hold him up a bit with his arms around Riley's waist. Buck looks like he could engulf Riley in a hug and the smaller man would disappear. Buck's arms - Eddie's breath hitches- fuck, his arms. Buck is big and Eddie has just realized this and it makes that feeling in his gut return and Eddie wants to throw up. And Buck is kissing him. Riley. He's… Eddie has never been so aware of every single move Buck makes outside of work - where it's needed - until now. Buck is gentle but firm, coaxing Riley to tilt his head back a bit for a better angle. It makes Eddie wonder what it would be like to be kissed by Buck. If his lips are firm or soft and if he'd go all in like he does with everything or he'd hold back. If he'd immediately use his tongue or will slowly get there. Will he take control of the kiss? Of the pace? Eddie is not as short as Riley, so he just would need to tilt his head up a bit to kiss Buck and he's much broader than Riley, so Buck doesn't have to hold him up but it would be nice, Eddie thinks, to have Buck’s thick arms wrapped around his waist to hold him close and for Buck to kiss him like the world is ending. Eddie wants to laugh hysterically, he's thinking about Buck kissing him while he's there kissing his new boyfriend! Chim wolf whistles and Buck and Riley break the kiss, laughing. “Sorry”, Riley says sheepishly. Buck kisses the top of his head before turning to everyone again and Eddie wants to punch something because it's such a soft and adoring thing to do. Such a Buck thing to do.

'I wish he'd kiss me like that', a part of Eddie's unhinged brain supplies and Eddie freezes, rattled for a moment at the thought. At the implication. Eddie would like the ground to open up and swallow him whole actually. Here lies Eddie Diaz, a fucking embarrassment.

The thought process behind this was basically:

Me: i need jealous buck like i need air

My brain: i gotchu *writes jealous eddie instead*

This is an early draft and things can change. It's also definitely not a full on Eddie is jealous kind of fic. He just sees them together and has Realizations™️ but has no ill feelings towards Riley. I also just wanted to give Buck a cute ass boyfriend tbh. And have Eddie have a crisis at seeing Buck being cute with another guy.
