Freestyle quilting really makes me happy. My aquarium. I hung it right under my mini trans flag quilt. Tumblr makes all my photos look worse than they actually are...

I spent some time in my sewing room this afternoon and finished my Little Bit of Improv quilt. I hung it in the lounge for now. I am disappointed with the batting I used. It is bearding badly and I had to spend time cutting fibres from the black border. It has been a fun project. I will have to get on to the larger improv quilt I made but I am really enjoying having it on my design wall so no rush. I will need to go get some better batting too.

[ID. Two photos of a quilt. The quilt is made of half-square triangle blocks, half of each block is a warm brown and the other half is a fall-themed print. Each block's print is unique, and arranged so that the quilt gradiates from dark brown in the upper left corner, through burgundy, rust, orange, tan, and white in the lower right corner. There is a reddish orange border around the entire thing. The first picture shows the quilt hanging on a fence and the second shows it arranged in a swirl, to demonstrate the drape of the blanket. End ID.]
Super excited to announce that I have officially opened my etsy store! I have two of these fall-themed quilts on sale currently, featuring a cozy flannel backing to keep you nice and toasty. More items up soon!

once you've committed to a Hubris Project (especially one without any deadlines) there's really no going back. just asked myself "Do I really want to hand-embroider hundreds of individual salt grains as a background texture?" but like. yes. the answer is yes. I already sewed two thousand triangles. nothing can stop me now.

The rainbow sudoku baby quilt is done!
It’s called that because I used nine fabrics, numbered them, and used a completed sudoku to decide how to arrange them

High priority for me rn to figure out something I can add to my bags to hold notions, because crochet hooks and knitting needles are not safely held by anything as far as I can tell... constantly keeping an ear out for the clatter of a tool falling out of the bag

[ID. Two quilted potholders laid one on top of the other. The potholders are made with a "braided" half-hexagon pattern, each panel a different blue, gold, black, and white print with a swirled of geode-like appearance. Black sashing runs between the panels and the potholders are bound with black as well. End ID.]
On sale now! These quilted potholders are both stylish and functional. 100 percent cotton fabrics make the top and back sturdy, while an insulated batting layer keeps your hands cool even if the kitchen gets hot!

A quick share on what's been going on here~
Unfortunatly not much, still hot and I haven't gotten my seeds started due to weather watching.
This is all from 2 sweet potato slips. I plan to harvest some for supper tonight :)
And from the side, the trellis is from an archway we had up some time ago for the front. I'm hoping to make a little shaded space for the ducks, or at the least extend potential harvest vines (the ducks enjoy the leaves right off the vine)
I've also had some time to be able to do some mending this week.
This quilt needs some patching. Since it was among the first quilts i made, I decided I want to do something a bit different than how I've patched others.
I'm taking it apart. Figure I'll keep what fabric is salvageable in pattern and replace what isn't on the front panel. pin it and stitch it back together. Probably replace the border entirely as I noticed the fabrics worn pretty thin there. The busted fabric I'm gonna put in with my small scrap pile to use as a filling for a foot cushion I'm making for personal use.
I've gotten round to finally processing the carrot seed heads from last grow. I'm currently doing a germination test to see if it was worth it.
Final pic of the day is a chicken pic :) they very much enjoy when I do a bit of weed whacking.
🌱🪴Happy Homesteading 🪴🌱

I think I bit off more than I could chew making gifts this year... making a 70*70 quilt in less than a week while working holiday hours is not for the weak
