BD’s fascinating relationship with Ben was everything I wanted it to be.
THEORY TIME (How do I do one of those under cut things)
We now know (or it’s been confirmed) that Dahlia played a hand or may have even directly orchestrated Big Band’s “early retirement”. You could say this was motivated in an attempt to crush opposers of the Medici and the idea of heroism itself that BD so dislikes, but I think it might be another underlying reason. She’s so infuriated that Ben hasn’t turned out like her despite all the pain he’s endured. Almost like…that was her intention, perhaps? So she wouldn’t be alone in her insane world? Anyway Black Dahlia’s story mode was amazing on many levels but as a Big Band Enjoyer, I had to analyze this particular segment.

(SPOILERS FOR SKULLGIRLS AND THE RECENTLY RELEASED BLACK DAHLIA STORY MODE UP AHEAD)
so like. just to clarify I haven't actually experienced the story mode in any capacity because Black Dahlia's story mode opens up on Marie and I suck at fighting games so even on the easiest difficulty that was a no go. aaaaaand there are no "story mode no commentary" videos out yet so I have to wait for that.
however. I did find one guy who played through Black Dahlia's story mode in its entirety and skimmed through that just to have an idea of what's in there because I'm nosy and. well.
if you were to tell me a day ago that Black Dahlia's story mode is where they would make Fukua canon I would not have believed you. but the fact that they did do that is the funniest thing on earth I think
like I need you to understand I was genuinely convinced that Fukua was forever going to be delegated to non-canon territory. Robo-Fortune being canon was surprising but not too much of a stretch but Fukua? only thought we'd ever only get to have her in the story in the fanon capacity. and like, if I did know she would become canon I'd put my bets on it happening in Minette story mode or something not Black Dahlia

Never too late to make another headcanon for MAH BOI The Skeleton.
I mean, I already had an epic one, about him being a devoted follower of Sekhmet, before trying to atone for his skeletal sins and switching to what was left of Lamia's side. With some obvious results.
But what if it's actually Adam after Parasoul finds out that he told Umbrella it's her turn to fight the Skullgirl?
Talking about coming back wrong.
Alternatively, it could be Adam's form some time after Parasoul's Story Mode ending. She wouldn't forget that he failed his mission to protect Umbrella. Maybe she was giving him another chance. In the afterlife.
Or maybe he was just serving the little princess until the end. Admirable devotion.
Aeon or Isaac might be involved too.
Anyway, now I have even more reasons to want our boy The Skeleton to be playable. Because I'm almost sure Adam would never get the chance. Such a shame, considering his proposed playstyle.
