Skin disorder
The term "skin diseases" refers to conditions that impair the appearance of the skin. When the skin's barrier is breached, this happens. Environmental exposures, hormone shifts, sickness, and heredity are just a few of the elements that can play a role. The skin barrier helps to keep viruses and other hazardous substances out of the body. When the barrier is breached, these contaminants can enter the body, causing skin problems. Read more here

Melasma Treatment
The pigmentation condition of the skin that primarily affects women, particularly those with darker skin tones, is melasma. Melasma, also known as “chloasma” or the “mask of pregnancy,” is a chronic skin disorder that commonly affects women between the ages of 20 and 40 or after having childbirth. Dark brown, tan, or gray areas of skin that are blotchy, bilaterally pigmented, and present on the face are its main characteristics. Dark brown, tan, or gray areas of skin that are blotchy, bilaterally pigmented, and present on the face are its defining features. In males, this skin disease is less common. Melasma occurs in 3 distinct location patterns:
Central face
Cheekbones
Jawline

Melasma is acquired hyper melanosis, seen primarily in women in sun-exposed areas. Other areas of the body often exposed to sunlight may develop this condition as well. In fact, Melasma can affect any area of your skin that is exposed to the sun. Most people get this skin problem on their nose bridge, cheeks, chin, upper lip, and forehead.
Avoiding sunlight and protecting your skin from sun damage is absolutely crucial for preventing melasma from developing further, as well as for maintaining the results of treatment. In addition to avoiding sun exposure, stopping your use of sunscreen with a high SPF level (50 or higher) may also prevent melasma development. Yes, but use makeup that includes sunscreen, and be aware of any products that might worsen your melasma by irritating the skin.

Skin picking
It has definitely been a while since I have posted about my skin picking. So here is an update. I was using this gel my doctor gave me to help with the acne, dark spots, and scabs on my face and back. It definitely helped lessen the bumps that I had. I still have issues and will need to go see a counselor to talk about the skin picking because it is an issue that I can’t stop on my own and that has been going on so long.
Some days I don’t pick at all and then other days I do pick. I definitely have noticed I pick a lot less than I used to. Sometimes it is hard because my back gets itchy and I start scratching. My fiancé has been really helpful through all of this and my journey. My parents and my fiancé’s parents are having more difficulty understanding what I am going through and sometimes say the wrong thing or don’t believe that I really have an issue with skin picking.

What is KP? KP is Keratosis Pilaris. It's a skin condition caused by over production of Keratin which can block hair follicles, exhibit rough skin, and patches of small bumps. I have had KP on the backs of my arms for several years. It's often caused me to hide my arms by wearing longer sleeves and cardigans to cover it up. The solution: The method I find works best for me is regular exfoliation and immediate treatment with Ammonium Lactate 12% cream. I've tried various products for exfoliation, but for the treatment of KP I find a medium to fine grit works best, much like the texture of @koparibeauty KP Bumps Be Gone with 10% AHA. The Ammonium Lactate cream is a combination of Lactic acid and Ammonium Hydroxide and it's available by rx only through a dermatologist. Kopari Beauty Bumps Be Gone offers an OTC solution for those that are not currently under a dermatologists care. Bumps Be Gone is vegan, cruelty-free, silicone, phthalate, sulfate, and paraben free. It's great that the scrub also contains Lactic acid, so it makes my routine far more potent and effective. It works to smooth KP bumps and dislodge any excess Keratin from the hair follicle. Keeping the area smooth also dramatically reduces my desire to skin pick the area. #bumpsbegone #kp #keratosispilaris #ammoniumlactate #lacticacid #skincareregime #alphahydroxyacids #koparibeauty #kopari #skinpicking #bumpyskin #roughskin #skinscrub #skinscrubs #bodyscrub #skinconditions #keratin #skindisorder #skindisorders #skinissues #letstalkskincare #skinproblems #skinproblemsolution #skinproblemsolved #skinproblemssolutions #dematologist (at New York, New York) https://www.instagram.com/p/Ca2iaPept9A/?utm_medium=tumblr

October is Eczema Awareness Month If your skin is dry, itchy and red, you might have eczema. It’s a common skin condition that isn’t contagious. You’re high risk if you have asthma or allergies.
