Favorite book of 2022
Least favorite book of 2022
War Girls has such a cool premise, but it all annoyed me. The goodreads/storygraph review i did said "Three different times I thought to myself, wow the book could've just ended here. Then I get near the end and think "ok I'm invested in the actual ending" Then I get to the end and....I'm upset."
At 1st I thought it was written the way it was because they didn't give an extended book deal so the author had to write 3 stories unto 1 and rush the book because he didn't have enough pages similar to Deathless Divide by Justina Ireland but no there's a sequel. Its gonna be a series.

Drawing of Simidele from “Skin of the Sea” by Natasha Bowen! I bought it at my school’s scholastic book fair last semester and absolutely fell in love with it 😍 it’s all about west African folklore, Yoruba orisas, and follows Simidele, a mami wata.
