my mom for some reason bought a whole spiral cut ham and so it's time for my favorite "low effort quick and easy healthy and delicious dinner with Lu, who just got off a 10 hour shift and is, perhaps, Hangry":

don't talk to me scramble

(so named because when I come home from work and am eating a late supper I want everyone to shut up and let me eat in peace)

YOU WILL NEED:

3 of the biggest eggs you've got - 4 if they're smaller than LargeTM

ham: deli cut works here but I literally just grabbed the spiral cut ham and ripped pieces off with my bare hands until I had a generous handful of Ham Bits (you can probably use whatever lunchmeat you have in your fridge for this tbh)

about like 3 tbsp of cream cheese?? Gordon Ramsay it babey

one(1) slice of pepper jack cheese or whatever kind you like

big handful of spinach (frozen works but I used a slightly wilted leftover salad since it needs eaten soon) or other vegetables of choice. bagged frozen stuff is great in eggs

optional carb (bread, tortilla, biscuits, et cetera)

LET'S CRACK THIS THING.

butter or oil in your pan. crack ya eggs. throw the Ham Bits in immediately or else they will be Cold. once eggs start to cook throw in your SpinchTM or ~vegetals of choice~ so that they'll wilt/heat up. this is the point where you want to toast your bread or heat a tortilla or whatnot, if you're into that kind of thing. once eggs are MOSTLY cooked, toss in your pepper jack and cheem creams and stir it all around until it's melted. it will probably look a bit watery — if this is a texture no-no I suggest making this in omelette form, bc yes, cream cheese is awesome in an omelette. serve with Optional Carb if you wis, or by itself, possibly eaten directly out of the pan you cooked it in. you are adulting so well. your tastebuds and your body think you're the coolest 👍 go forth full, happy, and proud of yourself

life pro tip: buy miniature cookware. it saves space and a lot of mini appliances come with little recipe books as well. if it's too small to cook a filling meal in one go, simply prep your ingredients so you can make more servings more quickly. i.e. mini waffle maker makes too-tiny waffles?? you will have excess batter just make more. tiny skillet makes too-small portions?? set your chicken and spices or whatever you have aside and make more servings. plus your next serving is freshly cooked oooo. mini baking stuff?? make another batch babyyyy that's half of baking anyway

Trying to branch out and find new music to listen to is so hard because I'm embarrassed to be heard listening to literally anything, like if anyone in my house knew I listened to anything other than Taylor Swift I'd drop dead.

#rambling #food #another day another abomination of a pasta made #pink chunks is salmon #more like really cheap scraps of salmon that is sold for fish enjoyers #honestly appreciate that they sell these necause fillet is very pricey #now if only they sold somehing like this for tuna..... a girl can dream #ANYWAY #this pasta is amazing tho #its firm even if i overcooked it a lil bit because im not used to good quality pasta lmao #but even slightly overcooked it doesnt have thus slimy texure #but thebsause is abomination #i just fried some garlic and onion flowers with butter #woth some spices and a bit of chili for that extra oomf #then cleaned the skillet rom that nice garlick butter and fried salmon bit a bit #then added butter back poured 3 small dollops of milk(dont have any cream)#and after if became slightly saucy added a lil bit o rice flour #and a dollop of tomato paste or the colour #then combined this abominatioj of a sauce with pasta and dine!#ah also added some fresh dill and green onions #and now to taste this stuff #salad is just a thing i shouldnt have added corn to it but too late

cast iron pans are like plants. they need sunshine and water (heat and oil) occasionally, but not too often (don't scrub them). if you have to transplant them (wash with soap) only do so if completely necessary (something really stuck on there) and be very very careful in the process (re-season afterwards). don't overwater (wash) them and make sure they get plenty of plant food (oil).

Been relistening to a plethora of Skillet songs (mainly because I realized I can appropriate them for my gay stories mwahaha) and piggybacking off of that one post that talks about how fucking thirsty Christian songs are: old Skillet songs are SO HORNY.

Mind you, I grew up on this shit so imagine six year old me crooning about being thirsty for and craving god’s presence. It’s fucking hilarious and almost borderline uncomfortable in that context. The newer ones are mostly fight songs about how “we won’t die we’ll stand up and keep fighting they can never tear us down” as if Christians are the most persecuted minority in the world. “Waaah they’ll tell us we can’t practice our faith and try and murder us for it” my brothers in Satan that was YOU murdering and conquering others for not following your religion, get over yourselves.

Anyways. I like imagining my little queer characters fighting with magic and swords to them.
