It's funny how ss shippers are still so upset about sk, I've see ss shippers who have appeared to have read through your whole sk analysis (I love those btw 🥰) and complain on twitter using excuses like *cough* 'came across' or used to 'follow' Yes they hate sk so much they find and read long pro posts 😂. Funny part is they take and hate on small parts of your posts but never post any counter proof, or link directly to your full posts, guess they're scared it would covert others! viva la SK 💞
You'd think that since they're canon, simply saying "Who cares if SK had any moments?/If some people want to ship it? Sasuke still ended up with our Queen" would be enough. All this does is make them look insecure 😭
That said, linking my posts directly could invite their ship-mates into sending me hate while I'm minding my own business, so I'd like to think keeping me anonymous is their way to be decent people 😂
Thanks a lot, anon! I'm happy you enjoyed them 🥰💞

Modern Sasuke X Shippuden Sakura - Part 4
It wasn’t fair.
It wasn’t fair.
It wasn’t fair.
It wasn’t fair.
Those were the three words plaguing her mind now, how could this be fair?
They had spent years trying to find a way to bring her back to her own world, but Sakura had long given up after two years. No doubt she would either be considered missing or worst case scenario dead. Unless the other Sakura had taken her place, in which case wouldn’t she have gotten used to living there by now?
A big assumption on their part but it made sense right?
Still, the dream of going back home. Of seeing her Naruto, her friends, her Sasuke… they were long gone. She learned to adapt and play the role of the other Sakura… even if Sasuke was still teaching her how to live.
Sasuke.
That was another thing as well, she didn’t have to feel alone.
He knew of her, that she wasn’t her and in a way he had to grieve himself knowing the one he loved (even if Sasuke would strongly deny it) was never coming back.
Knowing she could be herself around him and didn’t have to pretend gave her a sense of relief. Like how she accidentally ended up destroying a forest to prove to him how strong she was.
Her chakra may be non-existent but it seemed her strength was still the same and far different from modern Sakura. To say Sasuke didn’t expect it was well… putting it lightly but the news that covered it referred to it as a ‘mini earthquake.’
They both laughed at their attempt to cover it and Sakura found herself blushing because she had never seen Sasuke so carefree and relaxed before. A rational part of her was telling her not to get too attached, this wasn’t her home. How was she supposed to find a happy ending here?
Yet after so many years Sakura finally gave in and adapted to this life and now arguing in front of her were the two Sasukes. She didn’t know what was happening given she was further away at the time but caught sight of her other self and Sasuke?
Then she heard shouting and screaming, the young woman was in between and tried to stop them.
Sakura immediately let go of her carrier bags running up to approach them. And that was when she caught the words modern Sasuke had uttered.
“You’re in love with her aren’t you?” He was up in his face, almost looking like he wanted to punch him with the way one of his hands had gripped his shirt.
“Don’t tell me you think you can actually make it work.” It was a cruel and mocking tone and it hurt because was he… was he jealous? The other uh her own Sasuke didn’t even say anything, there was nothing in his eyes she could decipher.
“It is true?” The three of them seemed to snap out of it hearing her voice clearly not noticing her presence and that only irked Sakura more.
Admittedly, she didn’t know which Sasuke she aimed that question at, but did it matter?
They were both in love with the other Sakura.
There was something wrong with her, there had to be.
“Sakura-” This time it was ‘her’ Sasuke who spoke first. How long had it been since they met? So Naruto managed to get Sasuke by himself? How? Why?
Okay, perhaps he wasn’t alone…
“Well?”
“We were looking for you-”
“I call bull! We haven’t seen each other in years and the last time we met you tried to kill me. You expect me to believe that?”
“It’s the truth!” The other Sakura nodded to confirm.
“It is, I wanted to back. I couldn’t stand being in the other world. There just… wasn't a lot of time with Sasuke and well um…” She wasn’t really sure how to explain it. In the other world, she (as well as some of their friends) was put on a special mission for her. To bring their Sakura back.
Meanwhile, everyone else focused on Sasuke. Then the attack o the village happened with Pain, Sasuke being considered a criminal and then the war-
To put it simply too much was happening at once.
She didn't have any time to find out how to get back, even when she desperately wanted to.
Sakura didn’t want to hear it however, this only confirmed her thoughts. Her fears, everything… clearly they weren’t meant to be.
Although she will give credit where credit is due, it was weird that the 'other woman' was herself?
So many mixed emotions were welling up inside.
Why was this happening now?
What did she do to deserve this?
Did that mean Sasuke did like her? Even partly or is she hoping for too much?
It didn't matter, right?
Because they were both someone else.
She turned to leave only to be halted by the modern Sasuke who grabbed hold of her arm. He looked like was trying to say something, anything.
More like to come up with an excuse for what he said earlier.
“Let go, I want to be alone.” Her voice was defeated and tired. Her heart was broken, twice. Can’t they give her some space?
She got out of his hold making a dash for it, even with the other Sasuke calling her name.
“Sakura-” But he was also stopped by his other self before being able to reach for her.
“She said she wants to be alone!”
“You don’t know what we’ve been through.”
“Oh? You mean like how you left her on the bench? How considerate of you.” The two men glared at each other, both annoyed at how the other wanted to get in their way.
“Boys! STOP!” Modern Sakura looked at the two frustrated.
“Your both infuriating, you know that.”

Chapter 37: *Ahem* Katsuko distracts Shingen from working too hard. Shingen distracts Katsuko from discussing Sasuke’s plan.
N.S.F.W. Chapter, Minors DNI
Shingen x OC; Kenshin x MC (Mai)
Previous Chapter: Here
Logline - Disguised as a boy, Katsuko finds herself working for Shingen, but her dangerous masquerade becomes difficult to sustain when she falls for the man with a fatal secret.
“I can hear you thinking again.” Shingen massaged my shoulders as I prepared a cup of ‘Chiyome’s tea’ for myself and a regular blend for him.
Hopefully he didn’t literally know my thoughts because they were all over the place. One of those places was frustration. I couldn’t believe that he wasn’t even considering Sasuke’s recommendation. But it was easier to dwell on that frustration than to consider the ramifications of loving this man. I needed to put that emotion in its own compartment for a little while. If he knew I loved him, would he be more – or less - willing to go with Sasuke to the future? My gut told me it was the latter.
Instead, I waited until we were settled with our tea, and changed the topic entirely. One of Shingen’s favorite ways to avoid a conversation was to distract, and I used that method against him. I handed him the gift which had been sitting on the desk since before we’d had the discussion with Yuki and Sasuke. “Here, this is for you.”
He examined the cloth wrapped bundle without opening it. Ha! I bet he was going to sha-
He shook it and listened to it, but there wouldn’t be much in that to give it away. “It’s not my birthday.”
“My brother and I had this tradition of ‘just because’ gifts. We’d see something or think of something that we believed the other would like and go ahead and gift it, even if there was no occasion. Just because we wanted to.” In fact, usually the just because gifts ended up being items I got more use and enjoyment from than the official occasion gifts. Once he had given me a key hanger in the shape of a cat that basically had prevented me from locking myself out dozens of times (which… probably had been his strategy as whenever I did lock myself out, he was the one I called to bring over my spare key).
He hefted the package a few times. “Clever. If he ever forgot your birthday, he could always remind you that he’d given you gifts all year around.”
“I suppose. Not that he ever forgot my birthday.” He couldn’t unless he forgot his own.
“A paragon, your brother is.” Had Shingen ever forgotten a birthday or other special occasion in his time? Unlikely – the man remembered everything – he would make it a point to remember birthdays. “I almost worry what he’ll think of me.”
I let him stew another moment before I added, “We were born on the same day.” Was he ever going to open it? The anticipation was driving me crazy.
“Ah, twins. You never mentioned.” He seemed to be filing that away in his brain somewhere. “I had the impression he was the younger. You seem like you’re protective of him.”
“No, he’s older, but not by much.” Aki had informed me that twins were considered unlucky in this era, so I normally didn’t mention our shared birthday. “I guess I’m protective because he’s very clumsy. And he gets motion sickness.” And because it was my fault that we ended up here in the first place.
At last, Shingen untied the bundle to reveal the puzzle box. Using various types of wood, Tokuro had created a mosaic-like picture of a moon over a lake, surrounded by trees. It reminded me of the lake where Shingen had first “met” me as Katsuko and stolen my towel.
“This is beautiful.” He spent a moment turning it around to examine the lacquered wood from all sides. “Does it open? It sounds hollow, but there doesn’t appear to be a lid to it.”
“That, you have to figure out on your own. It’s a puzzle box. It does open, but there are twenty-one steps you must perform in the right order before it will.” Puzzle boxes were not completely unheard of in this era, although they wouldn’t become more popular for another century or so. I had been extremely lucky that Tokuro made them.
“Twenty-one steps?” His eyes bright with interest, Shingen set about trying to solve the puzzle.
Yes! Gift giving achievement unlocked. I rested my head on my hands while I watched him try to work the various levers and catches. He glanced over and caught my eye. “Thank you. This is a perfect gift… although, I imagine it might distract me from my reports… and… you thought of that already, didn’t you?”
I buffed my nails on my shoulder. “It crossed my mind that it might be a good strategy to get you to take a break on occasion.”
“Thank you for caring.” He smiled at me, his eye crinkling up at the corner, and I was struck anew at how attractive he was, when he was relaxing like this. Then he looked into my eyes, and his gaze turned hot and intent.
My memory saved that look and the perfect moment that surrounded it – the late afternoon sun turning the tips of his hair to deep red, the crisp coolness to the air that signaled the approach of Fall, the sharp scent of tea and the whisper of the kimono across my skin. I took a deep breath… and held it… waiting…
The sly smile crept across his face, and there was no need for him to ‘hear’ me think, because what I wanted was being broadcast from every cell in my body.
He crooked his finger at me, and when I leaned closer, he put his hands on my face and pulled me in for a kiss. The kiss was brief, but even after he drew back, his hands remained tangled in my hair, as he focused those darkening eyes on mine. “It occurs to me that there might be another strategy you might utilize to get me to take a break.”
Then his mouth was on mine as he kissed me again – not the light affectionate pecks I’d been the recipient of this past week but one with a hunger that hinted of barely contained desire. The passion of his embrace left me short of breath, and I hurried to steady myself on his desk before I collapsed into him. Papers crinkled under my hand. “Your reports!” We’d almost knocked them all to the floor.
“I don’t care at the moment… but you’re right, I’d care tomorrow if I had to sort through them again.” He stood, then scooped me into his arms. “The remainder of work can wait until then.”
“It’s still daylight outside.” Well, more or less anyway. Not that I was complaining.
“The better to see you with, my dear.” He gazed down at me with a combination of desire and tenderness.
“It’s ten steps from here to your futon. I can walk, you know.” Although the Rhett Butler impression was kind of hot, I was still worried about his health.
“I know.” He gently set me onto the futon. “This was more efficient.” He knelt next to me and began raining kisses along my jaw. “Plus, it has the added benefit of showing you how much I’ve recovered – and believe me, I’m about to thoroughly demonstrate that.”
“Which I look forward to but weren’t we going to discuss—ah” I forgot where I was going with that, when his teeth raked across my earlobe then nipped down the side of my neck to the hollow of my throat - a place he’d already learned could take me from zero to sixty in a flash.
“Talk later. I’ve got other plans for your mouth.” His tender attention to my throat had been more than enough to convince me - talking could wait.
“Alright… later,” I breathed out before his lips claimed mine again in a searing kiss and no, there was no talking, as any thought or intention I may have had evaporated in the heat of his mouth. I slipped my hands under the soft fabric of his kimono, sliding them across his chest, then his shoulders, wanting to feel the texture of his skin beneath my fingertips, his warmth in my arms. As the kiss took over, we melded to each other- my legs wrapped around his waist, and his hands caressing my hips and butt. Though fully dressed, our bodies found a rhythm and we moved against each other. Hands, hips, tongue, teeth… I couldn’t get enough of his kiss. I couldn’t get enough of him. I would never have enough of him.
Eventually, we broke apart to breathe, and perhaps I was hyperventilating… even looking at him made me dizzy. Or maybe I was dizzy with the need to be closer still.
I reached for my obi, intending to yank my clothes off, but he stopped my hands. “Let me.” He skillfully made short work of untying the knot. Reverently he loosened my kimono, slipping it off my body, his fingers lightly skimming across my skin along the way. “Two presents that I get to unwrap today.”
“Why do I feel like I’m the one receiving the gift?” I watched him shrug out of his own clothes, admiring as the last rays of daylight outlined his muscles and illuminated the faint shimmer of sweat across his chest and stomach. Sasuke had been accurate when he compared Shingen to Thor.
With that wicked smile across his face, he slowly lowered me backward onto the futon, his hands protecting the back of my head. “Because you. Are. Very. Perceptive.” He emphasized each word with light pecks across my cheekbones, forehead, and nose, then punctuated the phrase with a deep kiss that stole my breath. While his tongue swept into my mouth, coaxing mine out to play, his fingers traced a path from the base my throat to my belly before reversing course to palm my breast.
It wasn’t until he answered one of my gasps with a moan that I realized I was unconsciously performing the same explorations on him. Maybe I wasn’t ready to say out loud the words, ‘I love you,’ but my body declared it in countless nonverbal ways – fingers pressing into his strong shoulders, breasts sliding against his chest, leg hooking around his hip to draw him closer.
“Not so fast… we have all night,” he said, his voice low and thick as caramel, “I intend to worship you properly.” He brushed my hair out of my eyes, then for a long moment simply held my face in his hands and gazed down at me. The combination of heat and affection in his eyes nearly broke whatever little control I had left. If he intended to let this fire build all night long, there was no way I would make it until sunrise. But anything I might have said in protest of that plan was lost in my moans of pleasure when he slid his lips to my breasts to lick and tug on them, his tongue lapping the nipples, until they were tight and aching with a need for release. Even then there was no respite – instead he sucked lightly on them. I moaned as I writhed beneath him.
At last, he took pity on me and returned his attention to my neck – or maybe he was simply extending the torture, making sure our lovemaking indeed would continue through the night – then he hugged me closer and whispered, “You’re so beautiful… strong… vital… I barely believe you’re real.”
“Maybe … I’m not real.”
“Hm… better check.” His hand glided down my body, taking the time to caress every inch of skin encountered. “Feels real. You taste…”  He sucked on my earlobe.
I gasped and bit his shoulder in response. “Sorry!”
I hadn’t meant to bite him.
“Don’t apologize… I’m happy that pleased you.” His hand dipped lower and lower, light fluttering touches along my inner thighs, before he parted my legs; flicking and teasing that already over-sensitive place between them.
Once again, I gasped then squeezed him closer, feeling like I needed to hang on to something, or I would fall, but I was already lying down, where would I fall? Into him, I was falling into him.
He took his time with those caresses, banking a fire, but in no apparent hurry to build it up… just slow, deliberate strokes, as I arched into him, pressing him onward. At that encouragement, he inserted one, then two, fingers inside me. My brief thought of ‘wait, not there, go back to the touching’ was immediately cancelled by a ‘Oh! There! There is good after all,’ when his calloused fingertip brushed across a spot that sent a jolt through me.
He laughed suddenly. “You know, this is the only time your thoughts are visible on your face… I should just keep you like this all the time, Devil.” He laughed again, as my face very likely projected my opinion of that plan.
Just for that, I let my hands do some exploring too, gliding down the length of him, and feeling a surge of feminine power at his answering groan and the way he hardened at my touch. I wanted to do to him what he was doing to me. I wanted him to feel at least some of what I was feeling.
Victory was short however as his fingers continued that persistent rhythm inside me and soon it was all I could do to hold onto him, as breathless with anticipation and the increasing pressure deep inside me, I dug my heels into the futon and pushed into his hand, frantic for more. “Shingen, please.”
Finally, he gazed into my eyes as he positioned himself above me and leisurely pressed forward, entering me so slowly that every advancement sent waves through me.
As he held still for an extended moment, I breathed through the internal sensations… the soft skin covering the hardness … an unfamiliar, but not unwelcome fullness… adjusting around him … and the intimidating thought that we were closer than we ever had been….
He brushed my hair out of my eyes. “Good?”
I nodded. Good. Slightly overcome. But… good.
He kissed me again, whispering, “Then, look at me,” before gradually moving, a glacial pull and push that started the pressure building up again, especially when he brought his hand back down to tease the skin in the valley between my thighs.
I arched to take him deeper, faster, my breath releasing in half-sobs and gasps, as he increased his pace and… I didn’t want that feeling of anticipation to end, and yet I couldn’t stop urging him onward… until…
A shower of sparks spread throughout my entire being, my legs spasming around his back, then while I was still vibrating with the pleasure of that explosion, he allowed himself to reach his own release with a moan, then relaxed on top of me.
We lay there, simply breathing…
Being…
His now-damp hair tickled my forehead… or maybe it was my hair… I couldn’t even tell where the boundary of me ended and the one of him began.
Eventually, when my heartrate slowed enough to allow speaking, I sighed, “God.”
He pushed himself up on his elbows – yes, his hair had fallen into his eyes – it was always falling into his eyes, wasn’t it? I brushed it back into place, letting my hand linger on his forehead. He smiled down at me with a look of wicked glee, “Yes, Devil?”
Which is why our afterglow devolved into me snort laughing into his shoulder. He laughed with me then rolled us over, and we lay there, hands linked together, legs still entangled, sharing another moment of joy.

I wish I could say that after that night, Shingen and I had a long talk and he agreed with the wisdom of going to the future with Sasuke. In fact, it would also have been acceptable if we’d talked and he convinced me that he was healthy enough to wait until the Togakushi “node” (as Sasuke had taken to calling it) opened.
Neither of those things happened.
Instead, he continued to duck the conversation altogether. I knew what he was doing. And he knew that I knew. It didn’t make pinning him down any easier. He’d simply say, “I don’t want to fight about this – lets discuss it later.”
But he always had an excuse, a distraction, a way to avoid that later discussion.
Meanwhile the nights were *ahem* lovely, and aside from avoiding a certain topic of conversation, the days were pretty stellar too. I was learning a lot about tactics and strategy.
“I wish my instructors in school had been more like you,” I told him one afternoon. “I might have skipped school less often.”
“Was that a prelude to a teacher – student fantasy?” Shingen gave me one of those wicked grins. “If so, let me get through a couple more reports and we can explore that.”
“It wasn’t.” Although now that he mentioned it, it was going to be on my mind. “I’m learning so much more from you than I ever did in school. You make it all interesting, even things I never would have been interested in before, like the flood management.” I didn’t throw that out there randomly – I was curious about the zutsumi that he’d engineered that was still in existence in my day.
“And what were you interested in, Devil… also, what does skipped school mean?” Hm… maybe I had been too subtle in my questioning.
“Um, well, it means instead of being in school like I was supposed to be, I was out doing something else.” That comment got me a stern enough look that I moved ‘student-teacher fantasy’ higher up the ladder of things that might be fun to try. “What I was interested in, and what I skipped school to do, is go snowboarding.”
Before he could ask the obvious question, I continued, “Um, when you were a child, did you ever use a large piece of wood and slide down a snowy hill on it?” I didn’t know when sleds made it to Japan.
He appeared to think about it, then grinned. “Not that I can recall, although it sounds like something that I would have enjoyed.”
“Snowboarding is something like that, except you stand on the board, it goes a lot faster, and there are snow parks that build courses you can ride.” I waved my hand through the air in an approximation of a half-pipe run. “It’s the closest thing to flying without an airplane.” I had already explained modern transportation to him previously.
“I’m not completely picturing it, but I believe I have the general concept… it sounds dangerous.” He gave me a chiding look. Yup. Teacher/student fantasy keeps zooming up the charts. “Therefore, it must have been something you did every moment you could, Devil.”
“I wore a helmet,” I said. But we were getting away from the original topic, and since I was trying to be a good student, I steered the conversation back to the reports on the flood plains. But as I continued to subtly question him (although I don’t know why I was bothering to be subtle, given the amount of things Sasuke, Mai, and I had already affected, there were probably hundreds of temporal paradoxes already in play) about his ideas for damming and diverting the rivers, it became clear that Shingen hadn’t built the zutsumi yet.
Was this a sign that his illness would be treated successfully in the future? Or did it mean that in this timeline, the project would never be completed, potentially putting hundreds, maybe thousands at risk of losing their lives and homes over the next five centuries? Something definitely to discuss with Sasuke. I had a list. It was very long at this point.
I turned back from my musings to see that Shingen had paused in his report reading, seeming frozen in place. His knuckles whitened as he gripped the edge of his desk.
“What is it? Bad news?” I peered over his shoulder – the report seemed fairly innocuous.
“No.” His voice was rough. He cleared his throat. “Thinking… time for a break.”
“Alright.” I was happy he seemed to be taking better care. “Tea?”
“I’m… out. Run to the kitchens… and beg for more leaves?” He squeezed my hand, almost painfully.
“Of course,” I gave him a quick smile and headed out the door. I walked about ten feet away, then took off my sandals and tiptoed back.
He was not out of tea.
He’d sent me away on purpose.
I thought I knew why.
I hoped I was wrong.
A moment later my theory was confirmed when there came a painful sounding cough. Should I allow him to think his distraction had succeeded?
But the coughing went on and on, then-
CRASH!
The clatter of something falling had me rushing back inside to find him doubled over, struggling to breathe. He held a handkerchief to his mouth – but his hand couldn’t cover the red stain that was spreading across the pale fabric.

After sustaining a cut while trying to defend Sasuke during a hitman job, Itachi finds himself in Hana's vet shop.
Itachi’s head was bleeding from a nasty knife cut he had sustained from a skirmish that he had unfortunately needed to partake in. His brother, Sasuke, was a very good hit man and did more than enough for the family at large, but sometimes even he could mess up. So Itachi had jumped in to support him against the target he was supposed to kill and gotten cut up, such was the reality of their everyday life. The most important thing, however, was that Sasuke was unharmed and right back home and on top of that, he didn’t know that Itachi had been injured so he wouldn’t need to worry.
The easiest thing to do would be to go to Tsunade’s practise and get himself patched up, since she wouldn’t snitch to local authority or police and was generally on good terms with Madara and the rest of the Uchiha, but when Itachi figured where his feet were carrying him he realised that instead he was going to the veterinary office.
He had been there a couple of times with his chicken, for check ups and minor injuries and found the vet, Inuzuka Hana, to be a very agreeable company to keep. She was smart and fast, she was interesting and hard working, and she was beautiful, especially when she took care of animals and made sure they were well cared for. In his world of repeated violence and power hungry relations, a soft soul for animals could go a long way.
Maybe that was why he wanted to go see her now and not Tsunade. The latter was still related to this world that he had grown up in, the fighting and the inter clan politics that most of them tried to play from the moment they had been born. He knew Hana at least had the basic training of how to stitch up cuts like this, humans were just animals anyway, at least he told himself as much to justify where he was headed.
It was dark already, her practice was probably closed and when he arrived he realised that he had been completely right about his assessment. The sigh that was easily visible from the street was turned off, and the windows were darkened out, which meant that she was either in the backroom where her office was or she was not at home at all. Itachi knew it would have probably been better to just call ahead and tell her he was coming, maybe make up an excuse or two, but it was too late for this now. All he could do was hope that she would open once he rang her doorbell.
Itachi stepped in front of the door to the practice, looked at her name on the sign next to it. He knew the Inuzuka had a real connection to animals, dogs in particular, but he still felt like Hana was a special case. When she took care of his beloved partner, it felt like she could see into the soul of the animal. There was almost nothing that was more beautiful than that.
He rang the bell. Nothing. He rang it again. Nothing. Itachi sent silent pleas to the sky that she was around after all and as if whoever ran the sky to send the pleas had heard him, the door was unlocked open and Hana looked directly at him.
Her hair was bound up at the back, a sign that she had actually still been working, and she was wearing a lab coat. Hopefully she hadn’t just come out of surgery, he thought, because otherwise she would never forgive him for his intrusion for one measly cut. And the last thing he wanted was for Hana to be mad at him.
“Itachi,” she said, eyes raised in surprise. “What are you do-” Her eyes reached the cut on his forehead and he followed her eyes to the trail of blood on his nose. “You’re bleeding,” she stated.
He bowed his head lightly. “Can I come in?”  She scanned his face for something he couldn’t quite place, but then she stepped aside to let him go through.
Hana hadn’t been in surgery, he could tell so immediately when he entered the practice and saw all the urine samples standing around in the open. She had probably just worn the lab coat to analyse for illnesses or such, so that the samples would not be tainted. He let out a quiet, relieved sigh.
“I didn’t know where else to go,” he said. A lie, but it was a lie in good faith so he told himself it was alright. Itachi was an honest man for much of his life, at least when it came to his family and loved ones. But if he were always honest about everything he did, a woman like Hana would never even talk to him, or meet him. If he were honest all the time to her specifically he would rarely have a reason to go see her and he really enjoyed seeing her. Being honest about that sort of thing though came with implications, some that he didn’t feel like touching just yet.
Itachi followed Hana as she circled the table in the centre of the room to reach her samples and close them up tightly. “Do you think you could stitch this up for me?” He offered her a smile.
“You know I’m not a doctor for humans, right,” she looked over her sounder and raised a brow at him. “I have only limited knowledge of human skin.”
Sure, he had suspected as much, but: “I’m sure you can do it. I trust you.” It was true. While he could be initially a spectacle of anyone he met, their objectives and goals, Hana had always seemed very natural and trustworthy around him. Maybe that was because she only tangentially was aware of the life he was leading and what it said about him as a person.
She sighed and then opened a drawer that contained an assortment of what looked like sewing supplies. “I can close it up for you- I can try, I mean- but you will need to go to a hospital to get it checked up.” She turned to face him. “Will you promise me that you will do that?”
Itachi bowed his head down a little: “Promise.” Tsunade would ask him who had done the stitches which would force him to lie and tell her that he had done them himself. Still, a lie seemed easier than to risk that Hana was somehow caught up into his business when she just tried to help him.
Hana walked over and pulled a string through a needle. “You know,” she said, “you remind me a little of a weasel that was brought in here today.” Itachi looked up at her with one brow raised and when she met his eyes she laughed. “I didnt- didn’t even think about your name for a second.”
“Not everyone has the honour to be named after the greatest animal there is: the weasel,” Itachi said with a smile. “I’m glad to be compared to them, they are cute little fellows.”
She seemed to be taken aback by his jokey remark, but caught herself quickly. “Sit down here, you are too tall for me if you stand.” She offered him a chair. Itachi diligently sat down.
“So that weasel,” Hana started again as she cleaned out the wound with a sterile paper she had made wet before, “He was super skittish, always running around according to his owner, restless and wild.” Itachi watched her bite her lip in slight insecurity, but when she put the needle into his skin her hand was as steady as ever. “Needed to be everywhere and see everything, you know? Anyway, he hurt himself while trying to help one of his mates climb out of their owner's enclosure. Needed ten stitches to be fine and a lot of pain killers.”
Slowly, carefully, she moved the needle through the skin on Itachi’s forehead. It hurt more than Itachi wanted to show, so he crawled his fingers into the plastic of the chair beneath him. “Is he fine now, though?” Itachi tried to sound as casual as he could.
Hanna sighed. “I assume he will only rest the time it takes to be sort of alright again. Not sure this little guy can sit still for long. He’ll be back here in no time for me to stitch him up again.”
Itachi hummed in agreement. That did indeed sound like him. He thought of the way he had interfered instantly when he had heard that Sasuke was in trouble, how easily rival gangs could use the knowledge that Itachi would do everything for his little brother against him. This was in large part why Itachi needed to keep Hana out of everything, what he might have felt for her suppressed deep down, so that she could not be harmed in order to hurt him.
“Well either way,” Hana pulled the string, which stung, to pull the wound close together, “Though you promised me that you will go to a hospital after this, I have this very strong feeling that you will be back here quickly after I’ve done this favour for you once.” There was a light in her eyes indicating that she really wasn’t as clueless about the way Itachi was making money as he thought she was.
She moved her thumb over the stitch, the softness of it making Itachi flinch. He wasn’t use to soft touch, at least not since Sasuke was old enough to no longer want to take naps with his big brother.
“Is that a problem?” Itachi asked. “If I would come around another time, I mean.”
Hana sighed and he was half ready for her to tell him that it did in fact bother her, but then she looked up and a wide smile showed on her face. He had seen Hana smile before, when she looked at animals that she thought were adorable (which was almost all of them really). It was like the sun had come out in the middle of the darkness, like he had never seen the light until she had first aimed one of these smiles at him directly. Itachi felt as if his heart had temporarily stopped.
“I would never turn you away if you’d ask for help,” Hana said and Itachi could swear there was a light blush on her cheeks. “Though I would wish you would make better excuses for coming to see me. You don’t need to actually get yourself cut up just to talk to me.” She turned and walked back to her normal table to put the sewing supplies in. “Or bring your chicken buddy to five hundred check ups.”
Itachi laughed to himself, a little embarrassed. Of course, he should have figured that Hana was smart enough to figure something like that out easily. “Oh no, it was that obvious wasn’t it?” He stretched and got up from the chair.
“It was a little, yes,” Hana turned to him again. “If there is one thing you could do for me it would be to just, you know, call me and arrange a meetup like a normal person.” She smiled again.
It was such luck that Itachi was given this magical smile of hers not once, but twice in the span of a few minutes. There was a warmth at his core that filled him while he was looking at her, the same warmth that kept him coming back to her with so many excuses, that made him worry that he might be able to taint her if she’d found out more about his life. The warmth that right now he could not express, because expressing it would mean too much.
“I’m going to try,” he said honestly. Hana laughed: “Well at least.”
He was already half turning to go when he looked back at her. “Can you also do me a favour?”
She blinked at him: “What?”
“Just-”, he felt a little embarrassed again at having to say it out loud, “- never stop smiling. Your smile is like the brightest star in the darkest night.”
When he looked up her entire face was flushed red.

Hey. So when do you think Sasuke realised his true feelings for Naruto? I feel like he knew since part one itself, in some way at least. He was aware of something. When Sasuke tells Naruto his body moved on its own, I feel like there were seeds of realisation or at least a trigger point. In Shippuden, he always seems like he is fully aware of his depth of feelings for Naruto, he gets super emotional because of it. The fact that he is driven to ask Naruto again and again about his feelings, and is disappointed except for chapter 698 proves that he knew this feeling was somehow different, and he wanted understanding from Naruto, maybe to validate his own feelings, since he is equally inexperienced if not oblivious like Naruto.
He knows deep down that Naruto is special to him, he adores Naruto privately, he had since before the genin days. At the end of vote 1, I think he realises it fully, his true feelings for Naruto. What do you think?
Wonderful Ask, Anon!!! 😍😍😍.
[[Lengthy Post ahead]]
WHEN DID SASUKE REALIZED HIS TRUE FEELINGS FOR NARUTO?
I am damn sure, like 100%, the moment he realized his true feelings is when he thought he was going to die and recollected all the memories he shared with Naruto (including the Accidental Kiss and Roasting Sakura for insulting Naruto) for one Last Time in the Land of the Waves Arc.
Tumblr media
You might be thinking now, "What makes you so sure?"
Well, Kishimoto just hammered into our faces in many plotlines.
Tumblr media
How is this panel has to do anything with Sasuke?, You may ask.
The answer is here.
Tumblr media
"You will realize what you are, as death comes to embrace you".
Itachi, no matter how cold he acted before Sasuke in that battle, he simply couldn't keep up his Evil Brother act at the final moment of his death.
He just smiled. That is who Itachi really was and always will be for Sasuke.
Again, you may ask, 'All this happens much later in the series, Kishi might've had a different mindset back when he was drawing part 1'.
You are right. But Kishi's mindset was the same all the time. He even established this 'True face before Death' theme very strongly in Land of the Waves arc itself.
Tumblr media
This is who Zabuza really was. He didn't treat Haku like a Tool. Infact, his final words were, "I wanted to go the same place as you".
Kakashi made sure to convey this message to Haku in the War Arc, when he fought with the Edo Tensei'ed Haku and Zabuza.
And there are many characters who died in this series. Almost all of them projects their true feelings before their death. Just rewind the deaths of Nagato, Yahiko, Konan, Obito, Madara. You might've noticed that there won't be any lies. For Example, Obito. When he died for the first time, he was really thinking about Kakashi and Rin. He even said, ‘I wish I could’ve spent more time with them’. That’s who Obito really was. He was convinced with that Tsukuyomi plan because he wanted to live in a dream world where Rin and Kakashi will be with him happily.
So, a person, at their final moment thinks only about all their memories shared with that 'precious' person signifies only one thing. That person must have unconditionally loved the one they thought about.
Sasuke realized that he loves Naruto at that moment and he had no regrets because he smiled before falling into Naruto's lap.
Tumblr media
And I always wondered, 'Why did Sasuke thought only about Naruto? Didn't he have any other good memories other than the ones he shared with Naruto?'.
Well, this goes way back when he was just 8, right after the Massacre. Yes, the chapter 698 confession. But I am not going to attach all the panels here as I will go in-depth about it later in this post.
However, there are three panels that provides the general gist of what Sasuke felt about Naruto, the whole time.
Happiness:
Tumblr media
Whenever Sasuke watches Naruto, he reminded him of his family and it made Sasuke 'felt relieved' or 'feel warm and fuzzy'. Simply put, Naruto's presence made him happy.
And did Sasuke ever felt relieved?
Yes, he did!!
Tumblr media
This above scene happens sometime after the massacre and yet, somehow Naruto could make him smile even in that distressful situation.
And this is one recurring feeling which Sasuke experience whenever he comes in contact with Naruto. After the Massacre, somehow Naruto became his source of happiness or relief. This panel right after massacre, that smile before his ‘supposed’ death, on seeing the Great Naruto Bridge with a relaxed smile, VoTE2  smile.....
Sasuke smiled at all these scenes and you know the reason why!!!
Weakness:
Tumblr media
This is exactly opposite from how he felt earlier. And this conflicting thoughts are what Sasuke was battling in his mind throughout Part 1 and Part 2 until Chapter 697. He liked Naruto's presence. But, For him, the very thought of bonding with him made him feel weak.
According to Sasuke, the stronger he bonds with someone the more he has to worry about losing them and the very thought of losing them will put him in a precarious position which is considered as a weakness. And Sasuke doesn’t want to experience this again.
Meaning, Sasuke doesn’t want to feel the pain of loss over someone, ever again. He wants to be the person who don’t care about anyone.
Did Sasuke ever expose his weakness?
Yes he did!!!
Tumblr media
This is his absolute display of weakness and this is what he always wanted to avoid. The very thought of something is going to happen to Naruto made him do something that put him under immense pain.
Yes, In his mind, he doesn’t want to care about anyone’s loss. But his body doesn’t seem to listen to him. And that’s why his body moved on it’s own.
God!!! This made me cry!!!!
Pain:
Tumblr media
Now, this feeling Sasuke had towards Naruto was very evident in the War Arc. That one time he sensed Naruto’s Chakra in Konoha and asked Orochimaru to hurry up. Also when Naruto was bawling after seeing countless shinobi’s deaths, Sasuke’s reaction changed from ‘I don’t care 😶’ to ‘How dare you😠’, I consider all these moments where Sasuke was bothered about Naruto . But since, I want to focus only on Pre- Land of the Waves moments, I’m not going to add those moments here.
Did Sasuke felt pain in Part 1?
Of course, he did!!!
Tumblr media
Well, I always consider this scene as something ‘very personal’ for Sasuke.
In this post, I’ve written about how chapter 3 is masked by the ‘Accidental Kiss’ as a comical facade but when you analyze it deeply you will find that Naruto and Sasuke’s rivalry thing goes long back, even before the series started.
After hearing Pinky’s insensitive comment, what Sasuke did here was completely extreme. He was just giving her a ‘Murder Stare’ which was way too extreme for Naruto, if he was just a teammate. When in reality, Naruto was not just his teammate. That’s why I think Sasuke was bothered by this insensitive comment and roasted her because he knew Naruto was suffering from this loneliness ever since he saw him when he was 8. And when someone made fun of his loneliness, Sasuke just couldn’t keep quiet.
Isn’t this some form of feeling pain of the person you care about and standing up for them?
Tumblr media
This is another scene which I don’t have to go in detail about.
On my first watch, I always wondered, ‘Why Sasuke was making exceptions for Naruto? They just know for a very few days and yet why was he giving his lunch and standing up for him, which he doesn’t have to in the first place? It’s just 2 episodes in and Sasuke has already made 4 exceptions, why was he doing this?’
But after watching Episode 478, I came to the realization that Sasuke did all these because he knew about Naruto before the series even started.
It’s funny that before this scene, Sasuke was giving his long-ass serious speech to Pinky about how he is an avenger, he was crying at that time, he wants to get stronger than someone and wants to kill him, he can’t waste his time here..... And yet when he saw Naruto suffering from Hunger, he just gave his lunch without minding the consequences. (Ninja Career says Hello!!!!)
Now, Let’s get back to my previous question I posed here,
Why did Sasuke thought only about Naruto in his final moments? Didn't he have any other good memories other than the ones he shared with Naruto?
The answer is, ‘Sasuke always felt any one of the three extreme emotions such as Happiness, Weakness, Pain in the presence of Naruto. And all these 3 extremities are not something you feel for everyone unless that person shares your blood or the person you love unconditionally. Sasuke, at this point has no one that shares his blood plus the only blood relation left was the one he wants to kill. And since Sasuke thinks he is going to die, he doesn’t mind thinking about his happiest moments with the person he considers as ‘precious’ , because somehow Sasuke considers Naruto as ‘His Person’ or you can say ‘a part of himself’’
And that’s why I think Sasuke realized his true feelings just when he was about to die.
At the end of vote 1, I think he realizes it fully, his true feelings for Naruto.
I had this same thought before, anon!!! But after multiple re-watches, I realized something else. You cannot realize your true feelings and say a painful ‘Good Bye’ at the same time.
Realizing true feelings works only in two ways,
You either say a ‘Good Bye’ to someone. After leaving that person you may realize you miss that person and eventually you may come to term with your feelings.
Or
You already have a strong feeling established in your heart and say a painful ‘Good Bye’. And VoTE 1 belongs to this category.
Simply put, Break ups and Love realization cannot happen simultaneously.
And that’s why Sasuke casually said, “To me, you’ve become my closest friend” without any hesitation. Because he already knew it otherwise obtaining Mangekyou Sharingan (MS) will not be possible if you don’t have such a strong feelings established already.
That whole battle started off as a way to obtain MS but then it changed into his desperate attempt to cut off his bond with Naruto to become stronger and only killing him can sever it because it’s such a strong one. It’s not a bond that will be severed by saying a simple, ‘Thank you’.
Tumblr media
At this moment, Sasuke must be realizing he simply cannot cut off this bond and he is again making an exception by letting this one weakness to exist and embracing it by being closer to him for one final time.
And this is one of the hauntingly brilliant way of conveying A Connection indirectly. And the best part is... this scene is not accidental. We know Sasuke felt stinging pain in his arms and knelt down & coughed up blood. How did he end up straight above Naruto’s face?
It’s because Sasuke simply wanted to convey his unbroken bond with Naruto by deliberately leaning towards his face. Rain falls on Sasuke and all those droplets passes through Sasuke’s face and falls upon Naruto’s face or it is very possible that Sasuke might by crying and his tears might be touching his face, but either way, it creates a Connection which he couldn’t able to cut off. In the fillers, Sasuke’s sweat drop falls on Naruto. It’s almost similar to how at the end of chapter 698, both of their blood connects together to form a connection. Which means only death can separate their connection.
That’s why I feel that this is the moment where he is painfully saying his Good Bye for one last time, it pains him immensely because he already knows that leaving his ‘precious’ person who became a part of himself is not very easy added to that he hurt him so much during the battle. And for this reason, Sasuke felt ‘leaving Naruto is like ripping off half of his body’.
He knows deep down that Naruto is special to him, he adores Naruto privately, he had since before the genin days. What do you think?
Sasuke always fights this inner battle within himself. Mind Vs Heart & Body.
His mind says, ‘No more Bonds. Just stay alone. That will save you a lot of pain’.
His body says, ‘Create Bonds. Feel Relieved’.
When Sasuke met Naruto near the lake pier, His body wins the battle and that’s why he smiled back at him despite the trauma he went through few days earlier. This is when Naruto became special to him.
When Sasuke attempted to make friendship with Naruto. His body wins the battle and that’s why he offered food, trained along with him.
When Sasuke died for Naruto by casting away his dreams, his body moved on its own.
At the beginning of VoTE1 battle, his mind said, ‘Leave Naruto. Pursue your dreams by treading in a darker path by filling your heart with hatred’. His body said, ‘Be with Naruto. Achieve your goals by filling your heart with Love’.
By the end of VoTE1, Sasuke came to the conclusion that he really couldn’t sever his bond with Naruto, no matter how hard he tried. That’s why his body moved on its own and ended up straight above Naruto’s face for one last time. Carrying all the heart break of a painful breakup, Sasuke treads towards the darker path. For the very first time, Sasuke’s mind won the inner battle. And he was extremely saddened by it.
Throughout Shippuden, Sasuke mostly listened to his mind and whenever he does, he was seen pushing Naruto away like leaving with Orochimaru, ramming chidori through Naruto’s Shadow Clone when pursuing Itachi, promising to kill Naruto before Attacking Konoha, wanting to fight with Naruto in VoTE2.
But whenever he followed his heart, you can see scenes like Sasuke occupying Naruto’s personal space in Orochimaru hideout, Sasuke smiling at Great Naruto Bridge, asking Obito about Kyuubi (Naruto) when he joined Akatsuki, stopping his rampage on seeing Naruto’s eyes under The Bridge, asking Obito to wait and listened to Naruto under the Bridge, sensing Naruto’s chakra in Konoha and getting concerned about it, prioritize saving Naruto over everyone in the War Arc, switching off Sharingan at the last moment. These are all the moment where Sasuke’s heart was winning over his mind.
And finally at the end of VoTE2, Sasuke happily claimed, ‘I lost’, meaning, his mind which always asked him to cut the bond with Naruto lost to his Heart and Body which always wanted him to be with Naruto. And when Sasuke felt that he was unconditionally loved by Naruto who was willing to share his pain, Sasuke cried happily and finally sealed his Bond with Naruto.
But anyways, I still get this question, why do Sasuke had to battle his feelings for Naruto like a lover? And why Naruto had to act all Tsundere towards Sasuke for most of the Part 1 if only they are friends!!! Like Shikamaru was never shown to be acting tsundere towards Chouji or Naruto. Or Obito was never shown to battle his feelings towards Kakashi!!! Itachi was never shown to be obsessed about Sasuke all the time. Or Hashirama was never obsessed about Tobirama either. Like we were shown many fraternal bonds, friendly bonds throughout the series. And yet why none of those bonds fits for Naruto and Sasuke?
Well, this post is not the right place to cover these questions and I am simply going to leave it at that.
Sasuke realized it very early and that’s why he decided to push Naruto away by the end of Part 1. Whereas Naruto truly realized his feelings at the end of Part 1 and decided to put himself close with Sasuke in Part 2 and finally confessed in VoTE2 that, ‘Remember, you once gave me your food during the Bell Test? It’s because you simply can’t tolerate to watch me suffer before your eyes.... I also feel the same way about you.. I simply cannot see you suffer alone when you were willing to give your body to Orochimaru... It just hurt me a lot inside’.
They finally realize the feelings they had for each other is a love in a broader sense which cannot be labelled under a certain term (it may include a father, a mother, a friend, a lover too) and we can call them as Pure Soulmates, where one cannot live without the other, where one cannot bear to see the other one suffer and they always wanted to be standing next to each other sharing their happiness and pain in their hearts.

Greetings! It I. Whomever the f*ck that is!
I don't know if anyone's every told you, but your writing is absolute Grade A Quality. And I, as in me, happen to nurse quite the interest for said A Grade writing. Shocking, is it not? Foolish! Of course it is not! Surprising. That is. It IS the best writing afterall! I- Hm... ఠ_ఠ
Okay, I'll stop horsing around, sorry,,,
I have come to make a request if that is alright with you and you do not have too many already!
I recently discovered the song "Heart Attack" by Deni Lovato and would really love a little story with boisterous and playful reader that's had the second longest-standing crush(after Hinata's, cuse, MAN, that girl be the inventor of pinning no jutsu) known to everyone, but Lee, where the crew could be out throwing one of those rare party where a majority of them can be present, eventually ending in a karaoke where the fuzzy warmth of what little alcohol the reader drank gives them the little bit of missing courage(or sensibility) to, just, climb on a table and spill all their feelings, love and frustration into this one song before loudly announcing that This One's For Lee, like a challenge.
If you would have the space/kindness to add the aftermath where the reader immediately sobers up after comfessing and just, absconds through a window, I would be the most grateful gal alive,,, >v<
I'll venmo you a goat.
Okay this was seriously WAY too fun to right Naruto is my one true love but Rock Lee was my first Naruto crush<3
HEART ATTACK
Pairing: Rock Lee x Reader
CW: good old fluff
Length: 3.6+
Summary: Rock Lee has been your not so secret crush for as long as you can remember. You’re determined to take it to your grave, but what happens when you’re drunk at a karaoke bar doesn’t stay at the karaoke bar...
Tumblr media
The music was loud, the room was dark, and everyone was there. How long had it last been since everyone was able to get together?
The life of a shinobi was a busy, dangerous one. There was little time for laugh and play, especially as you all got older. It was easier when you’d just graduated from the academy. All of the missions given to new genin were level D to C, little things like gardening or finding lost pets that didn’t take much time or require you to even leave the village. It was easy for everyone to find time to get together and hang out.
But as time passed, things changed. Everyone’s ranks were different, some people like Shikamaru took up more political roles in the village. It was easy to drift apart without even realizing it.
So tonight was one of those rare moments where the stars aligned and the old group was able to get together to hang out.
The venue of choice; a karaoke bar.
It was the first time you were all able to drink together… Well, legally at least.
“Thanks, Kiba.” You giggled, giving him a flirtatious wink as you took the drink he’d just bought you, sipping it. Did you like Kiba? No. But was he fun to flirt with? Absolutely. And if that flirting led to him wanting to buy your drinks for you, well, who were you to deny him?
Kiba was cute; that wasn’t the problem. Heck, most of the guys from the Leaf were cute and way too easy to get along with. You’d known them practically your whole life, grown up together even, but despite all their great qualities, it was only one shinobi who had your heart, and he didn’t even know it.
The first time you’d seen Lee was before the first test in the Chunin exams. He had easily taken on Naruto and Sasuke without batting an eye. He was so swift, so smooth, you’d watched him in awe. He was a bit eccentric, but had a focus and prowess you’d never experienced before. You thought he was amazing.
You were content to watch him from afar until the preliminaries. During his fight with Gaara, you’d held your breath, watched in horror and amazement as he took on the demon of the sand. You didn’t think you breathed once during that battle.
Lee lost, was almost killed by Gaara before Guy stopped him, but it was the best you’d ever seen someone fight in your life.
Timidly and nervously, you visited Lee in the hospital that day. He was unconscious, but in stable condition. You didn’t know what motivated you, but you began to visit every day, leaving flowers and small treats for Lee to wake up to.
When he finally had woken, you were trying to slink out of the room quietly when you heard him speaking, causing you to freeze in your tracks.
“Who are you?”
Apprehensively, you turned to face Lee with a small smile. You’d never been shy, but there was something about Lee that made you weak-kneed.
After introducing yourself, you went back to his bedside. “I just wanted to tell you that I think you’re very strong. You’re so skilled and quick; I think you’re the best ninja I’ve ever seen…”
You were only thirteen, didn’t have much experience in the ninja world, so the words you spoke were true. You didn’t know if telling him that, as a total stranger, would make him think you were weird.
Imagine your shock when Lee burst out in happy tears.
It was the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
You supported Lee in his recovery, and even when he couldn’t go on missions himself, he cheered you on from the sideline.
From the very beginning, it was evident to everyone in the village that you were head-over-heels for Lee. Your quiet bashfulness when Lee was around was a stark contrast to your usual loud and confident self. Everyone knew about your crush.
Everyone except for Lee.
“Why don’t you just tell him?” Tenten asked you once. “You never know.”
But you’d only shaken your head. “He loves Sakura. Everyone knows that.” You told her. “Besides. We’re friends. I don’t want to ruin that friendship.”
So despite your friendliness, your flirtatious nature, and the fact that you could have just about any of the rookie nine wrapped around your finger if you so pleased, you weren’t interested in any of them.
Rock Lee was the only one that had your heart and he didn’t even know it. He never would.
Instead of focusing on that, or the cute way Lee’s cheeks went red after he took a shot, or how Lee spent a lot of time that night talking to Sakura, you took shots with Ino and Tenten and let Kiba buy you drinks and danced with Choji when he asked.
Overall, the night was going great. Everyone was having a good time and getting along and so far only Naruto had gotten just a little too drunk; everyone else was riding a nice buzz.
Shikamaru had just finished a less than enthusiastic rendition of “The Lazy Song” that had left everyone doubled over laughing at the irony. “Who should go next!?” Naruto yelled, looking around to see who still hadn’t sung a song.
And okay, maybe Naruto wasn’t the only one who had drank just a little too much. Watching Lee sit and laugh with Sakura the past hour had left you feeling just a tad bit jealous, leading you to drink more than you normally would. He’d barely said anything to you that, and the two of you were supposed to be friends.
“What’s so good about Sakura anyways? She’s really not that great.” You swished the liquid in your cup, mumbling the words you knew you would regret the next morning. Sakura had never been anything but nice to you; you knew she didn’t deserve to be the target of your jealousy.
Ino snickered. “Geez you’ve got it bad.” She commented with a roll of her eyes before hearing Naruto’s question. Her eyes lit up, and, grinning, she hurried to the microphone, looking through the book of songs available to sing. She flipped through for a moment or two before turning to Naruto and whispering something to him.
All of this escaped your attention as you were drowning in the misery of your own thoughts before you realized: everyone was chanting your name. You blinked, looking around to see everyone staring at you, pounding on tables and counters as they encouraged you to get up and sing.
Laughing, you shook your head nervously, not wanting to go embarrass yourself before Lee caught your eye. Even he was encouraging you to go up and perform. Well, if he wanted you to, then you would sing your heart out!
You downed two more shots before pushing to your feet, which was an obvious mistake.
The alcohol always hit hardest after you stood up.
“Woah, there.” Tenten laughed, standing to help you. Somehow, you made it to the stage. Naruto snickered as he passed you the microphone. He couldn’t wait to see this.
You held the microphone tightly in your hands as your eyes scanned the room with all your friends staring expectantly at you and cheering you on. You felt good. Really good. Your vision was blurry, head dizzy, stomach warm, and everything about you was giddy. It was your turn, and you were ready to make a statement.
Glancing at the screen, you saw the name of the song appear. Heart Attack by Demi Lovato.
“I’m gonna dedicate this song to someone very special to me,” You slurred into the microphone, giggling. Your friends in the crowd whooped and cheered as the music began.
“This one’s for you Lee!”
With that, you closed your eyes to block out the reactions of everyone and everything, and you sang. You sang your little heart out, put on the drunken performance of a lifetime. Your years of pent up feelings and nerves and fears surrounding Lee all went into that song.
As you sang the last word, you opened your eyes again, taking in everyone’s reaction. Glee, surprise, happiness. You were grinning; you’d killed it.
That was when your eyes landed on Lee. It was hard for you to gage his reaction. More than anything he looked… confused. And that was when the weight of what you’d just done settled on you. Oh shit.
You’d all but confessed your feelings for Lee… Drunkenly… In front of everyone.
The realization was all it took for you to sober up. Quickly, you shoved the microphone back into Naruto’s hands and fled the karaoke bar.
You weren’t really sure how you’d even made it home. Everything was kind of blurry. You remember running from the karaoke bar, a girl’s voice, probably Tenten’s, calling after you. You remember vomiting. A lot. That’s actually what you were doing now. You’d woken up with your head basically in the toilet.
You could have gone for some blissful moments where you didn’t remember what had caused you to sprint home from the bar, but alas, you couldn’t forget.
You’d confessed your years long crush through song.
How were you ever going to face Lee again?
You wouldn’t, you decided. You would spend the rest of your life in that house. You could have your groceries delivered, you weren’t going to need new clothes if you never went outside. You would just lay in your bed until you withered away into nothingness.
~
“You can’t stay in here forever,” Tenten rolled her eyes, tugging the blanket that you were hiding under off the bed.
“Watch me,” you whined in reply, holding a pillow over your head. “I totally embarrassed myself! He probably thinks I’m so lame!”
Tenten could only snicker at that. “Lee? Thinking you’re lame? Right.”
It took a bit of convincing, and you were basically kicking and screaming, but Tenten was able to drag you out of your home back into the real world. “No one’s going to care,” She assured you as the two of you walked. “We were all plastered. I’m sure no one will even remember!”
If only that were true.
“Hey!” Kiba called as he and Naruto approached you and Tenten. “Have you guys seen Lady Tsunade around here? I have this pain in my chest…”
Naruto grabbed Kiba’s arm in mock fear. “Oh no! Kiba, are you having a heart attack!?”
The two of them doubled over in hysterics; tears were even streaming down their faces. You could feel your face burning red in embarrassment. You’d never wanted to disappear so badly.
“Beat it you two!” Tenten snapped, grabbing your arm and pulling you away. “Ignore them! They’re idiots!”
Head buried in your hands, you shook your head. “God! How am I ever going to live this down! I’m going home!” You pulled out of Tenten’s grip. “I’m going to move villages, change my name, and make sure Lee never sees my face again!”
“Uh, well, if that’s the case you better run…” Tenten said awkwardly, nudging you. “Because Lee’s coming this way…”
And there he was. In his green jumpsuit, bowlcut and all, Lee was heading straight for you. God you were sure you were going to vomit again.
“Good morning Tenten,” Lee greeted, though nowhere near in his usual upbeat tone. “Would you mind giving us a moment alone?” He asked. Tenten glanced over at you nervously.
“Yeah… Sure Lee…”
~
“I do not understand it, Sakura.” Lee sighed, toying with the drink in his hands as his eyes were locked on you drinking and laughing with Tenten and Ino. “I have never had any issue telling you that I think you are beautiful. But with her… It is different.”
Sakura giggled, feeling the drink in her own veins. “Because, Lee. You like her like her. You should just tell her!” Even drunk, Sakura would never betray your trust by telling Lee the obvious; that you liked him as much as he liked you. But it was infuriating to sit on both sides listening to the two of you cry over your feelings day after day and not tell you!
Lee shook his head, taking a gulp from his drink. “I cannot. I am not like Guy Sensei, as much as I try to be. I am not cool or good looking. I do not think I am smooth. I do not know how to talk to a girl I like.”
It took everything in Sakura not to burst out laughing. Guy Sensei? Cool? Good looking? Smooth?
“This is ridiculous. How much longer do I have to hear about how great you think she is before you finally tell her?!”
Rock Lee could barely hear Sakura; he was zoned in on you. Everything about you entranced Lee from the very first time he saw you trying to sneak out of his hospital room. You were beautiful, of course. Your hair always seemed to fall just right. Your smile brightened up a room. The kindness in your heart radiated from you. He loved how confident and outgoing you were and that you had an energy that could match his.
It wasn’t like Lee hadn’t tried to tell you before. There were plenty of times when it was just the two of you that he was tempted, but he could never get it out. There just weren’t many people that he connected so easily with. Guy Sensei was his idol; he wanted to be just like his sensei! But that wasn’t the same as having a friend. Even with his teammates, there was a level of professionalism to it all--maybe thanks to Neji--that kept him from feeling like he could truly be understood.
But with you, everything was so easy. Laughing came easily, talking and opening up about the things he struggled with… There was a naturalness to it he’d never experienced before. He was terrified to lose it.
So that night at the karaoke bar, he sat with Sakura whining about the same thing he had been for months now instead of doing something about it. That wasn’t like Lee at all, but that was what you did to him. You made him so nervous he couldn’t even be him.
He was sure you knew his eyes were locked on you all night, ogling like a total weirdo. He’d barely even talked to you. He had hoped that the alcohol would loosen him up and spur him into action, but he’d just shut down even more, causing him to wallow in his own self pity.
Why couldn’t he be more like Kiba? He was over there, so smooth and cool, grinning and chatting you up and buying you drinks. Lee wanted to be that guy to you!
“Oh, look! She’s gonna sing next!” Sakura nudged Lee, nodding at the stage where you were grasping the microphone. You were clearly inebriated, and the redness in your cheeks just made you look all the cuter to him.
“I’m gonna dedicate this song to someone very special to me!” Lee’s heart dropped into his stomach. He couldn’t even hope that he would be the one that you would devote a song to. So when it was his name that had left your mouth, he sat in there in a state of shock. It wasn’t even dawning on him. Sakura shook his shoulder excitedly as you belt out the lyrics to Heart Attack.
“Lee, she’s singing to you!”
It just couldn’t process. Was it the alcohol? Was it the absolute surprise at what was happening? Whatever it was, by the time you had finished, Lee had continued to stare at you, open mouthed. It was only when you’d sprinted out of the bar that Lee had come to his senses.
He’d done his best to follow you, but he was drunker than he thought and had stumbled around just a little too long. By the time he’d gotten himself straightened out, you were long gone.
He’d stayed up all night long thinking about it, thinking about you.
The whole night, he turned it over and over again in his mind; what else could that have meant other than you liked him back? It was too good to be true! But it was true? Lee drove himself mad.
The goal with his walk wasn’t necessarily to find you. Moreso, he had just wanted to clear his head, maybe get advice from Guy Sensei. But he’d ran into you and Tenten before he could do any of that.
As Tenten gave the two of you space, he stared at you bashfully. The longer the silence went on, the redder his cheeks became. Just as he was getting up the courage to say something, you broke the ice.
“Lee, look. About last night… I’m sorry. That was so embarrassing! I was just so drunk and… I wasn't thinking straight.” You were rambling on nervously, scratching the back of your head and avoiding his gaze, acting like you wanted to laugh the whole thing off.
Lee nodded slowly, letting your words sink in. So… He had misread the whole thing, then? The thought hit him like a blow to the stomach, taking the breath straight out of him. That sucked. “Right, of course!” He said quickly. “It is okay, really. I had drunk a lot as well!”
How did he get out of here? Lee was tempted to drop the weights from his ankles and take off running as fast as he could.
The discomfort was plain on his face, though. You knew Lee well; you could tell something was wrong.
You had to drop your playful facade. You felt like you’d really screwed things up. “Are… Are you mad at me?” You finally asked him quietly.
The question startled Lee. He frowned, tilting his head. “Why would I be upset with you? You are my friend.” You could only shrug helplessly. You were sad and embarrassed and confused, and now Lee was upset. Of course you thought it was your fault. You didn’t know that couldn’t be farther from the truth.
The silence was heavy, making you sigh and shake your head. “Well, uh, I should go meet up with Tenten again…” You mumbled, staring at the floor. After this, she definitely couldn’t drag you out of your bedroom again.
You lifted your hand, waving goodbye before turning away. You didn’t get more than a step away before Lee was grabbing your arm, his body reacting quicker than his mind. “Wait. Please.”
Of course you stopped, turning back to face him. You were too fearful to be hopeful, unwilling to get excited for something that wouldn’t happen, but you held your breath anyways as you stared up at him.
“I was not completely honest. I am upset, it is just not with you…” When you didn’t respond, only continued to stare at him with those earnest eyes, he had no choice but continue. He dropped your arm, his hand going to nervously rub at the back of his neck instead. He didn’t know how to do this, but he had the feeling it was now or never.
“The truth is, yesterday when you sang that song, and you said you were dedicating it to me, I believed it was because you had feelings for me. So just now, when you said you were not thinking straight, it made me upset because I have feelings for you. I was hoping that you would tell me that you felt the same…”
You didn’t think you’d ever seen Lee so red before. It was like a cartoon, the way it creeped up from his chin all the way to his forehead, shooting up like a thermometer. You could only imagine that you looked the same. Your face felt like it was on fire.
It took a moment for it all to sink in. There was a pause before it dawned on you; Lee just confessed that he had feelings for you! He liked you! The giddiness sent trembles through you as you broke out into a huge grin that you couldn’t stop.
“Lee, you idiot!” You laughed, smacking his arm. “I do like you! That’s the whole reason I humiliated myself in front of everyone yesterday!”
You know that look that Lee gets when he’s happy? His pupils dilate, glistening like googly eyes. The blush dusts the tops of his cheeks, he even gets a bit teary eyed.
All classic Lee and exactly what you got after your confession.
“I cannot believe it!” He cried, pulling you into a hug and twirling you around without hesitation. Now that he had confirmation about how you felt, any inhibitions he had been harboring were gone just like that. He wasn’t going to waste another moment not showing you exactly how he felt. “I have wanted to tell you for so long! I just did not think you felt the same way! This is fantastic!”
Lee’s enthusiasm was as contagious as ever. It didn’t take long before you were hugging Lee back and laughing along with him. When he finally calmed down, Lee released you, taking your hands in his instead and grinning at you.
“So does this mean you will go on a date with me?”
“Is that you asking me?” You giggled. Lee nodded enthusiastically. “Then yes; of course I will.”
Lee pulled you into another hug. “Would you like to know something?” He questioned, giggling childishly, so of course you nodded. “I almost had a heart attack asking you that question!”
The groan was immediate as you pulled away, smacking your forehead. “Lee!” You whined, cringing in embarrassment. “I am also having a heart attack trying to work up the nerve to do this…” For a guy that was so fast, he moved agonizingly slow as he leaned down to press his lips to yours. A heart attack, huh? Yeah, you were never going to live that down. But if this was the price to pay, well then, you didn’t mind all that much.

SSM21 Day 12: Favorite Food
They were 7.
Sakura hide behind her mother as she watched over a boy with his own mother at the fruit stall, buying what suppose to be tomatoes.
"That's not enough, Kaa-san." She heard him saying. His left cheek is puffed out as he took another tomato to put in his mother's bag.
The woman chuckled lightly, "Alright, Sasuke. Add a few more if you like." and then she adds, "Why don't you just be a normal kids and eat sweets like them?" She said as they paid and walk away. Sasuke didn't reply to his mother as he took out a tomato out of his mother's bag and bite a mouthful before he munched it, his expression was the mixture of satisfactory and content.
Sakura had blink a few times that day, and she thought Sasuke is interesting, because why does anyone like tomato.
-
They were 11
It was Valentine's Day, and Sakura's innocent crush to Sasuke has intensify.
The Valentine's Days year before that, she chose not care because every fangirls from their class or many more from other classes will come and hand him sugary gifts, most likely chocolates.
She noticed that he mostly ignore all of them, didn't even spare a glance as his eyes close, while he face forward, trying to act calm when Sakura had taken notice the twitching of his eyes everytime the bolder in the group speak up before shove him her gift.
Sakura feels pity of them, because she knew why. Sasuke Uchiha hates sweet.
So, when she was very sure that her crush for Sasuke is real and not just for a span of time, she planned to gift him something on Valentine's Day that year.
She woke up as early as she could that morning to pick up fresh tomatoes. She already pick up a nice looking medium size bento box that she had thoughtfully fill half of it with three onigiri–of which she noticed always his choice of food when he ate. She had also put lettuce at where she decided to put the tamotoes on for a little touch up.
Sakura walked in the breeze of the morning into the market, where she remembered seeing Sasuke and his mother bought tomatoes. When she arrived, she bought a few of round fresh looking tomatoes and a number of cherry tomatoes.
-
She was nervous as she peeked into the empty classroom only consisted of a lonely Uchiha. It was her first time giving anyone a gift on Valentine's Day and she only hope she was right with this.
Not delaying any further, she strode into the classroom and go straight towards Sasuke, afraid if she stagger for just one second she'll chicken out.
"Sasuke-kun." She said, her voice soft, embarrassed and slightly waver with nervousness.
One of his eyes open as he looks at her, "I'm not interested."
Sakura heave a determine sigh and squares her shoulder as she open the bento, "It's not something sweet, see." She show it to him.
"I know you don't like sweet, and I saw you shop at the market for tomatoes once. I also noticed that you often have onigiri, so I just assume you like them too."
Sasuke stares at the bento for a moment, slowly retrieve it from her.
"Happy Valentine's Day, Sasuke-kun." Sakura bows a little, send him a small smile before she went off to sit at her usual seat in the front row, not even bother to look back at him as she afraid that he change his mind and give her back the bento box. Regardless, she feels so happy, because Sasuke had accepted her gift with not much of a fight.
When lunch time came by, she feels like she's over the moon when he pulls out her bento box and eat from it. He nodded at her once when he noticed her staring. And boy, was Sakura happy.
-
They are currently 12
Sakura decide that she has 2 other males addition in her life, that probably need to be treated as good as Sasuke-kun.
That's what make her bring two boxes of carefully wrapped box of chocolates, and Sasuke's special bento for Valentine's Day. And she was running late, very late because she has to run for an extra mile for Sasuke's tomatoes since the fruit stall she went the previous year had closed and she completely forgot about it, so didn't really think too much of that.
Panting rather heavily, she stares at Sasuke and then Naruto, "Sorry, I was running an errand." She said and lean on the railing of the bridge, while Naruto pastering about her that day tardiness.
"Why were you late, Sakura-chan? Where were you from? Are you okay? You look so red. Are you having a fever?"
"I'm fine. And I was running, Naruto so it's normal. Tch, shut up already." She said, hugging her packaging close to her chest.
"What is that?" Naruto asked, pointing on the packaging.
"It's nothing." she scoffed.
"Is it for us?"
"No."
"Aw, Sakura-chan."
"Shut up, dobe." Sasuke snapped, rather annoyed by Naruto's loudness.
Sakura grins, and then smirk at Naruto for Sasuke's back up, not a back up really but teaming up against Naruto with Sasuke feels good.
"You're just jealous because Sakura-chan is talking to me."
Sasuke rolls his eyes at him and mumbles an idiot which enraged the blonde hair boy of team 7.
That was when a poof of smoke appear before them, "Calm down, boys."
Sakura sighs and then smile, "Good now, that you're all here." She open her pack and take out a few boxes. She gives one to Naruto and Kakashi each, and then shyly give the bento box to Sasuke.
She beams at the three of the boys while she stands before them, "Happy Valentine's Day!" She exclaimed. And then she half heartedly explain,
"I'm not sure if you like black, white or milk chocolate, Kakashi-sensei. But I hope you like that one." She said to her sensei.
"I know you like any food, Naruto. So," She waves at him, "Whatever." she ended.
She then bite her lips as she looks at Sasuke, "The stall you usually went to buy your tomatoes closed today, Sasuke-kun. So I make do with the other from other places. I hope its still as good as you'd like."
When none of her teammate say anything, Sakura chuckles nervously, "Don't think too much about it. I was getting Sasuke-kun something for Valentine's day. It would be rude of me to not get you two anything."
Naruto lunged himself to Sakura, eyes tearing up shouting a repetitive "Thank yous"
"You, baka!" Sakura shouted and push him away hard from her.
Kakashi gives her his one eye close smile as gratitude, before she beamed in response.
-
When she got home that day, she was greeted by a neatly packed syrup coated dango, umebushi and anmitsu, most definitely her favorite. There wasn't any notes or signature of whom its from, but the woody musk and strong burnt smell is enough for her to know who it was from, or rather who own those scent. She couldn't be more happier as she take her time eating all of it, gleefully squeal occasionally.

Title: Like Silver
Summary: A companion series for Like Gold.
It’s challenging to finish up discharge summaries and operative reports when one’s vision keeps blurring, as it turns out. And when one keeps pressing fingers to their lips in disbelief. A poetic sort of procrastination, indeed.
Blank period, canon-compliant, Sakura-centric, some expanded plot points from Like Gold, fluff and pining, eventually becomes a smut fest with feelings.
Disclaimer: I did not write Naruto. This is a fan-made piece solely created for entertainment purposes.
Rating: M (eventual nsfw-ness)

Chapter 2/?: A Poetic Sort of Procrastination, Indeed
Sakura saunters home late in the evening, admiring the stars above her in a daze of spring air and clutching her tote bag to her shoulder as if her very life force is tethered to it.
In the flurry of emotion, she completely forgot about returning her library books, but she doesn’t give a damn.
She drudged through her entire pile of paperwork, though it was an almighty effort requiring every ounce of her discipline. Even after Sasuke left, she kept tearing up and just gawking at the impossibly beautiful gift he’s given her, affection requited bubbling up inside her ribcage and unleashed into the air she breathes like some sort of ambrosial perfume she can finally afford to bask in. She has always known there is a softer side to him, that there is much more beneath the surface than he lets on with his laconic demeanor, but this is something else.
It’s challenging to finish up discharge summaries and operative reports when one’s vision keeps blurring, as it turns out.
And when one keeps pressing fingers to their lips in disbelief.
A poetic sort of procrastination, indeed.
She hangs her tote on its entryway hook and carefully removes the box inside once she reaches her apartment. After she’s padded her way to her bedroom, she flips on the two lamps before placing it tenderly on her bed.
Sakura briefly contemplates taking the lid off then and there, but she knows she really should shower first, because otherwise the evening is going to quickly spiral away from her, whirlpool of tender feelings that it already is.
It’s the quickest shower she’s ever taken in her life; berry-scented soap floods her body and seems to take forever to rinse clean in her haste, although it can’t actually be more than a minute or two in reality. It’s also the quickest she’s ever toweled off and changed into pajamas, scurrying back to her room and grabbing the first pair she lays eyes on from her dresser drawer.
Once she has shimmied them on, she opens the box again, and just looks.
It still exists - it doesn’t disappear or dissolve as a figment of her imagination - so she picks it up with careful hands.
It is so, so pretty, exquisite in a way that makes her heart hammer relentlessly against her sternum, a catharsis in her chest sweeter somehow than anything she’s ever experienced.
It’s unavoidable; her eyes well with tears again, because he said he had it made for her. Not found in an antique shop off the beaten path or some happenstance market who knows how many miles away. Not just something that reminded him of her.
Made for me.
Which means he thought of this himself. Silk that shifts colors like the Uchiha crest, fastidiously stitched petals, and a cherry blossom tree, carved light wood that is startlingly similar in tone to the accents here in her bedroom.
And the way he looked at her, after, a storm of silver and obsidian that took her breath away.
And he kissed her.
Sakura doesn’t know how she’s supposed to fall asleep tonight, deliriously happy as she is, or how she’s going to spend any of her free time from here on out not staring at this supernal treasure. She strokes the wood with careful fingers, bringing the carving upwards for closer inspection. Every inch of it is gorgeous; she is especially enamored with the pink and pearlescent stitching, coruscant in the low light. She assiduously counts the slivers of bamboo, too, and follows the rivulets of fine branches stretching upwards to the boundaries of the framework. Upon her inquest, she notices an impossibly tiny etching, faintly whittled on the interior of one of the slats of bamboo. Tai Ro, it says; she assumes that must be the craftsman’s signature. She wonders where it came from, which far-off land Sasuke traveled through to commission something so resplendent.
She has never seen anything so bewitching, except maybe silver flecks.
Tearing her gaze away from the fan, Sakura eyes the vanity by her balcony door, an idea brewing.
It’s an aged piece, of a bygone style featuring small drawers on each size and a sunken point in the middle, from which rises a large circular mirror. A framed copy of their original Team Seven portrait sits pushed against the framing, right in the center. She placed it there because she enjoys seeing it as she gets ready for the day. It’s a good memory, one of her favorites, sentimental in a way that makes her heart swell, after everything. A pale wooden hairbrush also sits perched atop its surface, given to her by her mother forever ago while she was still at the Academy.
“I found it in the market today, just after swinging by to pick up rose food from Ino’s mother. It’s old, an antique, but I think it suits you, my dear,” she’d said, ruffling her hair, still long at that point and chattering a mile a minute in the overbearing way she has always tended to. She’d brushed her already combed locks in the manner that Sakura thinks all mothers must with their daughters, even when they are starting to become too grown for that sort of thing. “What I wouldn’t give for your hair! So unique; you should have something lovely to brush it with. You’re already such a pretty girl, but someday you’re going to bloom, and when you do, heaven help the boys.”
There’s a cherry blossom on it, too, adorning the back simply with five perfect petals.
When Sakura moved out of her parents’ house, she chose the tones of her bedroom accents, inclusive of the frame, with it in mind; she’d been using it for years by then, and had developed a fondness for pale wood rooted in familial nostalgia. Most of her actual furniture in the room is secondhand, of an older variety and painted with a white stain to make them somewhat match - she prefers things with a little bit of history, has since her mom gifted her that hairbrush - but the few frames and wall-mounted shelves are lighter washes of wood.
Many of the surfaces in her apartment are cluttered with books and other knick knacks she has accumulated through the years, but she tries to keep the vanity’s top clear, almost like an altar, an ode to the things she finds lovely atop it to give her hope with which to greet the day.
Still clutching the gift tenderly in her hands, Sakura ventures over to it.
She holds the fan close to the frame as well as the brush, comparing the color, near an exact match, a fresh memory making her heart swell in a completely different way, a way she had previously thought was maybe unrealistic.
She’ll get a stand for it, she decides, and display it in the spot the frame currently sits; it would look perfect there, the curvature echoed above it in circular looking glass, a hairbrush of a similar stain beside it. Then she’ll be able to gaze at it every morning and evening. There is no way something this precious to her could ever be stored away in a box and only seen on special occasions; it’s the same reason she struggled with the idea of hiding his letters away in one.
No, Sakura is resolutely sure that admiring it will be a daily ritual.
She can relocate the photo frame to her bedside table, maybe, next to An Introduction to Electrocardiography , or perhaps to her living room, though it doesn’t really match the wood out there.
That gets her thinking. We’re... together now, right? He’s kissed her, and she really hopes he will again, surprisingly soft lips against hers, an aroma of woodsmoke, and butterflies unleashed in her stomach. Maybe she should put the frame on the shelf in the main room. He might come over, sometime; it would be good to have it visible, situated in a place where he can see it.
With the utmost care, she lays the fan on the surface in front of her. Sakura combs through wet locks, coaxing out tangles with an old gift and appreciating a new one with watery eyes. When she’s finished, she carefully clutches it again and admires it atop a lavender comforter for the better part of an hour, alternating between mentally mapping its fine stitching within the confines of her hippocampus and paging through her book of Sasuke’s letters in a way that is more than fond, affection freed from her chest after so very long. The jubilance crests to a sense of omneity as she does so, moon glow filtering in by way of the gauzy white curtains that shield the balcony’s glass door.
She absolutely can’t wait to see him tomorrow. She sincerely hopes she’s not dreaming all of this.
She is so enamored with it that she doesn’t even drink her customary evening tea, her being warmed in an entirely different manner she is as of yet unaccustomed to, better than earl grey or some variety of dessert. It’s immensely difficult to pry it from her own hands when the time comes to do so.
Always is the last word she thinks of before she succumbs to slumber, curled up in soft colors and hoping he has found somewhere comfortable to sleep. Treasured memories emanate from objects old and new, brewing together before a looking glass where she’s placed them for safekeeping and admiration.
XXX
When she awakens in the morning, Sakura jerks upright in bed, turning to her vanity to ascertain if it was all a dream, cozened in by her subconscious as she slept.
It wasn’t. The fan is still there, precious and so enchantingly beautiful, dawn flavoring the memory of Sasuke’s return just as sweet as it had tasted yesterday with his lips on hers.
She brushes her hair again, working at the task way longer than necessary and trying not to cry out of sheer happiness. She feels so light, as if being pulled upwards by a latterly existent force of gravity, theoretically possible in terms of relative physics and with the right circumstances, but never actually experienced.
Birds are singing on the balcony when Sakura finally steps outside, snacking on seeds from her bird feeder as she gives her fledgling plants a drink before leaving for work.
It is such a lovely morning.
XXX
Sakura makes it through work as if encapsulated in a brand of inertial navigation system, floating as if she’s a bizarrely sentient cloud from patients to test tubes. She feeds the mice and records the brief observations she usually does on Wednesdays, and then a Genin is being brought in with a linear fracture in their tibia, twisted wrong and impacted during training. She gives instructions to nurses, too, taking care of smaller tasks in between, part of her feeling like she is barely there.
Well, not barely. She still keeps her wits about her and heals people; she takes pride in what she does. She just… daydreams a little, too, sage, smoke, and silver occupying her spare moments, flitting in between the corridors of her head as she flits from exam room to exam room.
She’s sitting at her desk, eating an early dinner and working on a new pile of paperwork before her next appointment arrives at five thirty, when one of Naruto’s clones bangs on her window.
Her gaze shifts to the glass at the familiar boisterous whining of her name - “Sakura-chaaaaaaan!” - and she rises to open it the rest of the way, allowing him entry into her office, an easy grin coming to her lips.
“Naruto!” A million thoughts run through her head. He has to know Sasuke’s back at this point, right? Has he seen him? He must be so happy.
Cyan bores into her, and he grins as he steps down. “Sakura-chan, teme’s back! Can you believe it? Though I guess you knew since yesterday.”
Sakura’s cheeks warm at the implication of that, wondering how he knows this information, but her friend is plowing onwards.
“Anyways, wanna have an original Team Seven reunion dinner on Saturday night? Or maybe Sunday night? Kakashi-sensei said Saturday would be better for him, if it works for you. And we should also make it a housewarming party for teme, but Kakashi-sensei says DON’T tell him that, or he won’t agree! It’s a surprise.”
Laughter erupts from her chest, rich and joyful, because it is crystal clear in that moment that Naruto is as elated at Sasuke’s return as she is - okay, maybe not quite on the level that she is, but close - even through a clone. “Of course, we should! I don’t have anything planned for Saturday night.”
Her teammate grins, all infectious happiness in the way that is so utterly characteristic of him, eyes crinkling at their corners. “Good, great, awesome! Be sure to mention it to him when you see him at seven. I’m sure if you suggest it, he’ll definitely agree.” Sakura blinks in surprise, cheeks staining darker. “Man, this is gonna be so great! Team Seven is fucking back ! I can’t wait to get a mission! It’ll be just like old times. I gotta tell Hinata-chan, too!”
She can’t help it; she smiles so wide that it hurts her face, tears paying her another visit. Sasuke’s back. He’s really back. And-
“Well, anyways, I’ll leave you to eat your dinner, Sakura-chan, but we have to force him to be social. I can’t wait to spar! But also, we gotta have a picnic, and no tying me to the pole this time. We could even challenge Kakashi-sensei to get off his ass and give us another go at the bell test. And, and! We should have a movie night. And go drinking! I’ve never seen teme drunk. I bet he’s a lightweight, and he’ll probably say all sorts of embarrassing shit! And-” Naruto’s clone’s expression turns unexpectedly serious, blue eyes suddenly narrowing in a way that is all-seeing and a tan finger suddenly pointing at her accusingly.
“-I mean social outside of you and him, Sakura-chan! Don’t think for a second that you’re gonna escape my questions later, when my brain isn’t fried from staring at that stupid scroll Kakashi-sensei has me slaving over. I want answers. ”
And then Naruto’s clone disappears in a puff of smoke, leaving her blinking in a strange combination of bewilderment and somehow, shyness, too.
And ebullience. Mostly ebullience.
She stands there grinning like an idiot for a long time. She can’t wait to see him at seven.

Asynchronous With You: Ch 6
ship: naruhina
rating: teen (quite possibly mature or explicit later)
tags: Modern Day AU, Foster Siblings, Family, Angst, Unrequited Love, Poor Communication, Missed Opportunities
summary: An awkward journey full of self-denial and missed moments between two foster siblings. Perhaps their love will find the right timing someday.
"I think everyone should know," she said.
They were walking the usual route to their high school, the train station coming up ahead. Naruto kept a protective though furtive gaze on Hinata as he walked behind her on the steps.
He swore she's never modified her skirt. It would be against the dress code she's forced to protect. So he has no idea why it feels like he's seeing more of her than usual.
"Know what?"
Usually he's already doing this, because he's worried about perverts. Even in grade school, he was worried. If it weren't for their teachers educating them on Stranger Danger, he probably would have had to do it himself.
He had to learn it the hard way before Kurenai-obasan took him in, but so did Neji apparently. That's why he's gotten good at being less obvious with his suspicion, and also why he can better tell apart intent based on their body language.
He used to perceive everything around him to be potentially malicious. He never realized the toll that had been taking on him until Neji taught him how to really see.
He stood close behind her on the platform as they waited.
"That we're fosters."
A burst of wind shot through the platform, ruffling overcoats and business suits and whipping pleated skirts and loose hair in a sudden frenzy.
The PA announced the train's arrival, and it wheezed to a stop soon after.
He observed Hinata as she flattened her skirt down and smoothed her bangs, but none of it registered in his brain.
It was simply auto-pilot for him to follow her onto the train, then using his larger frame to block the other passengers from nearing his little sister.
Right. His foster sister.
In all of their nine years together, they've never told anyone. It wasn't that it seemed weird, it just… never occurred to them?
But now it did seem pretty weird.
"Why, though? In a couple years, it's not going to matter anymore."
She turned her face against her shoulder to look at him, but he didn't know what she was thinking. It was the same schooled features she put on last night when visiting Neji, like there was a one-way mirror and only she could see through him.
Then she looked away.
"You're not going to introduce a girlfriend to Kurenai one of these days?"
"Hmm?" The suggestion bloomed in his mind and quickly withered. The idea wasn't… very appealing. Something about inviting judgment onto his life and stuff. He defends himself in every aspect but at home, and he'd rather keep coasting on the good thing he's got. "Dunno. Hadn't ever thought about it."
He certainly wasn't going to introduce any of the one's he's taken to bed when the apartment was empty. He's rarely done it with the same girl twice, mainly because he can't help but lose interest.
He blames it on sexual incompatibility.
"Well, I know I will."
He misses the melancholy hedging around her words, and latches onto the opportunity for an easy ribbing.
"You're gonna bring a girlfriend over?" he's happy she shoots him a look so that she can see his corny grin, otherwise he worried she might've mistaken him for serious.
He's nonplussed by the severity of her glare, but then she says "Maybe when you're not around," and he no longer knows what to think.
"Wait, what? Hinata?" He's craning left and right in hopes of catching a smirk or a giggle from her, but she's evasive. Has she? "Hinata, are you--?" And since third grade she said? "Also, what's that supposed to mean 'when I'm not around'? Huh? Hey, what's that supposed to mean 'when I'm not around'?? Hinata???"
"We're getting off topic--"
"Bullshit! I have questions!"
She ignored him.
"I vote to tell our friends that we're fosters. And I'd like to have it taken care of during Lunch. What's your vote?"
Is this what she sounds like during her Public Morals Committee meetings? Because it was doing something to him.
Oh, right. She wanted an honest answer.
But… "What do you get out of announcing this? I mean, aside from knowing how to introduce me in the future or whatever. Have you thought this through at all?"
What's the rest of the school going to say?
The guys who share their skin mags with him might get wary and reject him. The girls he's dumped might try to get to him through her. Teachers might give up on disciplining him, essentially offloading their responsibilities onto her as both Public Morals Committee and his sister. And he wasn't having any of that shit again.
All kinds of things could bite them in the ass one way or another.
She hasn't replied to him at all, and he thinks she's upset again, but he has to make his point.
"Hinata, the way things are now isn't broken, so what are you trying to fix?"
"It would help me."
"Huh? How? With what?" He waited, and she was silent. A drop of dread sank in his chest for her. "So something is wrong," He leaned in closer, causing her to shrink. He sighed. "Hinata, for someone who wants the world to know we're fosters, you sure don't seem willing to rely on me like a sibling."
"I don't favor Neji-niisan over you."
"Yeah, well, you don't have to," Tension clutched at their throats. "People always have more history with their blood. I can't really compete, y'know?"
He can't compete at all, actually.
Sometimes he thinks his only true brother is Sasuke, but he still wants to work at this. She just has to let him.
"I'm sorry. I just thought it would be less lonely if we could talk to each other normally again. And we only see each other at school these days, so…"
He envisioned her waving to him in the halls between periods, or her having a reason to cheer him on during a deadlift tournament. It would prevent people from making the wrong idea about them.
Damn, he felt stupid now.
"Fine!" He intoned with mock-annoyance. "If it'll make you happy."
She looked over her shoulder again, and what she found was his warm, supportive smile.

Hinata gathered her friends, Kiba, Shino, Ino and Sakura.
And he gathered his friends, Sasuke, Shikamaru, and Chouji.
Ino had tsked in distaste when she saw Sasuke, had gone as far as to drag Sakura away so that the others sat in-between them. He caught some sort of nickname from her lips, but wasn't sure what she had really said.
As Naruto stood before them alongside Hinata, his gaze fell on the skinny lad scribbling away at his sketchbook, and immediately his fight instinct was switched on.
"What's your monochromatic ass doing here??! Did anyone invite him?!" He jabbed a finger in Sai's direction.
The monotone, softboy, little creep didn't even look up.
"I'm making a record of these proceedings for posterity," he lifted the sketchpad and flipped it around.
Inkified Naruto was pointing right back at him with an agape snarl. Sai then proceeded to show everyone else individually, and they all cracked up, one by one.
Ino was absolutely dying. Stomach-clutching and tears rolling, the whole nine yards. She snatched the sketchpad from Sai and begged if she could keep it.
"Whaddya want that for??" Naruto interrogated. He was so about to punch Sai and throw his art supplies in the pool. This was Hinata's announcement and the softboy was ruining it.
Ino mockingly tilted the sketchbook side to side. "Something to keep your ego in check, Charato."
Hinata faintly snorted. He wasn't sure until he saw how she had her face turned around and her shoulders were lightly trembling.
He frowned at her, feeling betrayed.
"Ahhhh, alright, enough! Me and Hinata have gathered you all here for a reason! So shut up and listen! Hinata, tell them!"
Hinata jolted out of her humor, her face flushing as though this were the first time she's done public speaking.
"Uh, Uhm… Naruto-kun and I… we're foster siblings. We, uh… we live together," Hinata froze up under their collective stares. With a stiff smile, she half-heartedly sang "Ta-da," and punctuated it with rather embarrassed jazz hands.
"And as our friends, you're the first to know," Naruto added. "Also we don't care if the whole school finds out. So don't worry, we're not sharing this out of confidentiality."
Their collective shock evaporated rather quickly.
Sakura was the first to speak. "Well, that answers a lot of questions. And raises plenty more." She ended it with a growl and a glare. That accusatory look irked him.
"Feel free to ask away! I've got nothin' to hide!"
Sakura flattened the back of her skirt as she rose up like a dignitary representing The House of Hyuuga. And then like a certain video game attorney, she pointed at him.
"I always wondered why you obsessively protected Hinata in the past, but never showed any romantic initiative towards her. Now I have to ask, knowing the sex maniac that you are: Do you ever sneak into her bedroom?"
"No," He answered unconvincingly. He looked at the jury one by one, unsure how much of their scrutiny was sincere or misperceived. Sasuke was leaning forward, arms circling around his knees. He looked a little too interested in the idea of him and Hinata… doing things… "I-I've never done that! I would never do that! Hinata's special to me, okay?! You've got a filthy fuckin' mind, Haruno!"
"Me?! You've tried to sneak into the female locker rooms!" Sakura took off her shoe and slugged it at him. "Multiple times!"
Naruto hunched up and twisted away as the shoe smacked his shoulder and bounced away.
Hinata moved in between him and the one-woman mob. "Okay, this is getting out of hand--"
"I will never fucking do that to Hinata. I was in an orphanage for six years. And they're not all run by saints."
Dammit.
This was way more than he ever wanted to share.
He took a few steps back before turning tail. He jogged downhill as fast as he could.
What was he doing?
Uzumaki Naruto doesn't run away.
But it was either that, or… have them watch him cry.

AN: So this is missing a scene cuz I cut it. I might not use it anymore, and instead I'll see if the backstory I had expanded upon will be worked in later on in the plot. Because before I started writing this, I had anticipated that things would actually get cuter from here on out. (Also anticipating that I may work in at least one smutty chapter in the future. Yeah, it's totally diverging from this fic's original concept when I posted it for Secret Santa, but that's okay!) And the total Ego Death I unexpectedly wrote just feels kind of Deus Ex Machina in a way to Naruto's vices. I just can't have him maturing right now. That's a plot route I don't have any material for, and I don't quite see it as not defeating the other stuff I had planned to write. (I'm also happy to state that I'm starting to get a better picture of how to condense this content on AO3, because I honestly feel like this could be Ch. 2 now. :B I mean, it's too short on its own if I do, but it kinda has that hook for the rest of the story.)
I hope you enjoyed this update! 😘💕💕💕

You Really Got Me – part 2: First Impressions (Kakashi Hatake x Reader)
(note: part 1)
Tumblr media
“Will you finally tell us what she is, Kakashi sensei?”
Sakura’s question came before they even reached the elevator which meant she lasted a good two minutes before demanding answers. Letting out a long sigh, Kakashi rubbed the back of his neck. He sure hoped she would soon grow out of this slightly annoying habit of hers. Especially since Naruto was the same, but there was no chance he would change in the near future.
But he really did promise them to explain what exactly happened so he couldn’t back out now. Surprisingly, Sakura had hit the nail right on the head with her question. If he wanted to explain who you were, he had to begin with what you were. When it came to how well you knew each other, though, he would have to be careful not to give away too many personal details. No one needs nosy kids in their life.
As he pushed the button to close the door of the elevator, Kakashi let out a thoughtful hum. “Well, Y/N is a phantom. Do you know about them?” While Sakura and Naruto both shook their heads, Sasuke remained silent as usual. But this time it could be because he had already heard about her kind, as one could expect from a kid who grew up in the Uchiha Clan. “They are considered a type of tricksters, although they’re a lot more powerful as adults than your average trickster. Because of their unique abilities and backgrounds, phantoms are members of an organization that operates worldwide. It’s a lot like ANBU, except they’re independent of governments and only answer to one person.”
“So she’s an Alpha?” Sasuke asked, sounding slightly surprised for some reason. When he received a quick nod in response, he folded his arms over his chest and leaned against the metal wall. “I thought they were more… serious.”
Kakashi shrugged and didn’t even try to hold back a short chuckle. “They’re not robots, they have different personalities. Y/N is… a wild one,” he added with a grin under the mask.
“Wait, what is an Alpha?” Naruto wondered out loud as his eyes scanned the faces of people around him, waiting to see who was ready to provide an answer.
“Are they the phantoms or the members of the organization?”
“Both, actually,” Kakashi replied as he glanced over at the girl. “Phantoms that aren’t good enough or simply refuse to be members of the organization are executed, this is why the two are the one and the same at the end of the day. Alpha is a nickname some gave them because you can say they are on top of the food chain. They usually work alone but every now and then they ask for the help of… specialists, humans or other supernatural creatures who have abilities or knowledge they need for the job. Those people, especially those who become regular aides, are called Betas,” he explained, this time looking at Naruto as he spoke.
The four of them left the building and Kakashi began to think about what else he should tell them about you. Your abilities? No, it would be better if you gave them a demonstration. How you met? Definitely not, his reaction to Sasuke’s question regarding your personality gave away more than enough already. To avoid further questions from the kids, he eventually decided to pull out his book and read on the rest of the trip to the restaurant.
For his luck Sakura and Naruto discussed this between themselves, occasionally trying to get some information out of Sasuke now that he wasn’t paying much attention to them. As long as they left him alone, Kakashi was okay with that. Especially because he wanted to think about the upcoming dinner with you. He wished it was just the two of you, though. After what he had done, he really wanted to make it up to you somehow. Well, maybe you could meet later to make this happen, once these three went to sleep.
Oh, how he loved and hated at the same time what you did to him. You were like a drug he just couldn’t get out of his system. But, to be honest, he had truly missed this high he was experiencing now thanks to you. He may have forgotten to call you but it didn’t mean he hadn’t thought about you once. In fact, every time he read one of the Make Out books, he couldn’t help but think about the two of you. Strangely enough, this was by far the most stable relationship he had ever had. Okay, not like he had so many other relationships in the past to compare it to but… It was still different. And special.
“You took your time, guys.”
When Kakashi looked up, his eyes fell on you as you watched them with a wide grin on your face. Tilting his head to the side for a moment, he put away his book and glanced at his watch. “You said fifteen minutes. It’s only been ten.”
“Duh, I thought you were ninjas, not a group of elderly people who went on a nice evening stroll,” you told him with a roll of your eyes.
He really wanted to laugh because he missed your stupid sense of humor, but it would’ve probably ended with him kissing you. And he wouldn’t have stopped at a quick kiss on the lips. Oh, no. If it was just the two of you, you would have skipped dinner altogether. But his mind was wandering too far again. He had to stop, damn it. “Very funny,” was all he said in the end.
“Is that blood?” Sasuke suddenly spoke up, pointing at your shirt.
“What?” You looked down and noticed the bloodstain on your chest. While you quickly zipped your red jacket to cover it up, you flashed a reassuring smile at the kids. “Don’t worry, it’s not mine.”
All three of them. All three of the kids opened their mouths at the exact same time, probably to ask for details, but Kakashi was fast enough to stop them with a pointed look. You had said it yourself back on the rooftop: there was something you quickly had to take care of. Knowing you, it was most probably an assassination and he didn’t want to talk about things like this tonight. Was it too much to ask for? Was a normal, delightful evening too much to ask for? Just one damn night.
After clearing his throat, Kakashi spoke up. “So we were about to get something to eat, right? Naruto, I’m sure you’re starving as always.”
But Naruto hesitated and scratched the back of his head as he flashed a sheepish grin at him. “Actually, as weird as it might sound, I have so many questions that I can’t even think about food right now.”
“Shoot.”
Were you seriously planning to answer his questions? “Y/N, come on,” he tried with a sigh.
“Don’t come on me. If he has questions, let him ask them.”
“We can do that inside.”
He had no luck because you clearly weren’t about to go inside anytime soon. Shaking his head, Kakashi pulled out his book and leaned against the wall of the restaurant. At least he had time to read a little more while the four of you talked. He already had a bad feeling about this conversation but for now, he decided to only listen and keep his opinion to himself. There was no need to interrupt you, he could do that if something went wrong. Which, knowing you, was highly likely.
“What kind of missions do you go on?
“Kakashi told you a few things about me, didn’t he? Well, covert missions, assassinations, manhunts… Usually, we go after supernatural creatures, but there are times when we assist in different cases too, like hostage situations. Since it’s really hard to kill us, we often help out when the situation is too dangerous for humans.”
“Cool. So what can you do?”
“Alpha’s are supposed to be powerful, right?” Kakashi looked up from his book and turned to Sasuke. Back when he had told the team about you, Sasuke didn’t seem very convinced about you being an Alpha. Sadly, he already knew where the kid was going with this, and he also knew perfectly well how you would react. But maybe he was wrong. “I can’t take you seriously enough to believe you’re one.”
“Excuse me?!”
Yes, this is exactly how he had expected you to react. “Oh, no, here we go,” he whispered under his breath as he pinched the bridge of his nose.
You took a threatening step toward Sasuke who didn’t even flinch at first. “You wanna see powerful?”
But when your eyes turned black, all three took a few cautious steps back to build some distance. “Y/N, please, just let it go,” Kakashi told you as he put a hand on your shoulder.
“No, no, no, if he wants to see what I can do, fine, I’ll show him. And I know just the place,” you explained hurriedly. At least your eyes were back to normal which meant you managed to calm down a bit already. That was good. He didn’t need more drama out on the street. You pulled out your phone and quickly dialed someone’s number. “Hey, Kisuke, I’d like to ask for a favor. Can I use your underground training facility tonight? I need to teach some stupid brat a lesson… No, I don’t want to kick his ass, but he pretty much called me weak so I nearly threw hands with a thirteen years old kid… Cool, thanks, we’ll be there soon.” Once you ended the call, you turned to the kids and said, “Alright, we’ll order food and eat there. Let’s go, my car’s just around the corner.”

30 BTS writer asks: 1, 12 + 18? ❤️🌻
Almost forgot to add - thanks for asking<33333
1. What was the first fandom and/or pairing that you wrote fic for?
Unsurprisingly, it was for Naruto and Sasuke/Naruto. You can still read it in all its glory, even on ao3 lmao. Might be hard to believe but that fic (Unsuspicious title, don't ask why it's called that I have no explanations) is really the absolute first thing I wrote that counts as a fanfic. I didn't write about other people's fictional characters before that. I didn't really write much outside of school at all, not sure how I lived my life tbh...
12. Is there a trope you haven’t written yet but really want to?
I answered earlier that I want to write a horse rider au at some point, but what I'd also like is to write a real enemies to lovers fic. Like, actual enemies. But it might be too angsty, so who knows if I'll ever make it lol.
18. What is a line/scene you’re really proud of? Give us the DVD commentary for that scene.
Aah you guys really want that commentary don't you... maybe one day I'll release a version of tswm with director's commentary for the whole thing hahahahaha (jk I'd never have time to do that)
But alright, I'm gonna take the opportunity to comment on another scene in tswm that I definitely this deserves it, it's the reunion scene between Naruto and Sasuke in chapter 49! I hesitated to pick this one bc it's so long and emotional, and also I don't want to add any accidental spoilers... but oh well. Here we go!
[My comments will be in bold text, this starts almost at the beginning of the chapter, right when Sasuke meets Naruto in Kaguya's place.]
He reached out with a hand, the bright light reflecting in the half-moon in his palm. It glowed, and just like that, his hand wrapped around another’s.
Naruto.
He sucked in a breath, lungs desperate for air. Naruto stood before him, chest heaving, hand clutching Sasuke’s so hard he feared it might break.
Their shared beat rang loud in his ears, eyes wide as they drank each other in. The darkness had given way to white, fuzzy light, their bodies floating, suspended in air.
“Sasuke,” Naruto whispered, as if afraid to drown out the sound of their connection.
Honestly, I tried my best to make it as painful as possible. That's all I wanted lol. At first I had no idea how to write this scene, but then I just got a feeling and tried to write it in words.
There was no hiding in this place. It was similar to that strange place that seemed to exist between them when they fought, blows connecting, hearts open. Between one breath and the next, it would be gone, their shared hearts lingering long after.
Nothing more poetic than that special place Kishimoto created for them when they exchange blows... extremely gay.
Here, there was only the two of them, the heat of their bodies as Naruto reached for his face.
“Am I dreaming?” Naruto wondered, fingers stroking along Sasuke’s cheekbone. “You look so real…”
They sank down, slowly, until their feet touched solid white. He shivered, the tips of Naruto’s fingers touching his chin, his mouth.
“It could be a dream,” Sasuke said quietly, exhaling as Naruto came closer.
“I can feel your heart,” Naruto murmured, his forehead coming to rest against Sasuke’s temple. “I missed you so much.”
Images flashed before Sasuke’s eyes, impressions of the world from Naruto’s perspective. Menma as the kyuubi. Kakashi, entering through a window. Iruka, hand gentle as he reached over the table.
Sakura, pain drawing her face tight. A mountain of paperwork. Snippets of conversation. The overwhelming pain of loneliness, like walls closing in on him.
He puzzled together enough pieces to make sense of the days since they separated.
Must be convenient to just read each other's minds... I should stop making fun of my own writing. But anyway, I felt very clever when I realized I could skip explanations between them and just let them see each other's memories of the past few days. I think it fits that they could see it through the other person's eyes, all the emotions too. Especially how painful it was for Naruto and how much he was trying to keep it together in front of his friends, and still failing. It gives Sasuke a better understanding of what would have happened if he'd decided to leave after one year passed (and I'm still bitter at Kishimoto for doing that in canon.)
“Naruto,” he sighed, lifting a hand to sift through soft strands of hair, closing his eyes as Naruto pressed into him.
Hearts bared, he felt Naruto’s desperate longing as his own. It mirrored his own pain, the aching emptiness filling his chest. Little by little, the cold was pushed away by warmth, Naruto’s mouth touching his cheek, his jaw, his throat. It burned against his skin, each point of contact erupting into tendrils of heat that seeped into his body.
“I didn’t know what to do,” Naruto confessed, lips shaping the words onto Sasuke’s throat. “I couldn’t go back to you, I-“
Sasuke turned his head, capturing his mouth. The words were lost between their lips, swallowed by the sudden surge of need. Naruto’s arm wrapped around his neck, keeping him in place. A fever caught him, leaving him dizzy and faint. He felt emotions between them like a physical caress, like they swirled in and out of their bodies, like a strong wind playing with fallen leaves.
Pain. Longing. Fear.
Happiness. Comfort. Love.
Naruto kissed him like he’d die if they stopped. He might, for all Sasuke knew.
Don't mind me, I was just crying buckets as I wrote this.
Their hands were still clasped tight, their palms pressed together, keeping their marks in contact. Teeth dug into his lower lip, but he could barely feel the pain over the onslaught of emotion. It was overwhelming, to share Naruto’s heart so fully. Was this how Naruto had felt, when Sasuke had touched him by accident? When Sasuke had shared too much of himself, and Naruto had been unable to give him the same in return.
I think it actually wasn't as overwhelming for Naruto when Sasuke accidentally touched him. This place that Kaguya controls just amplifies things a lot.
No such restraints now.
Their souls were on fire, like chakra flames billowing around their bodies. It was too much to make sense of, and yet it felt as if they’d always been this close, always been one and the same. Naruto fit inside him like a key, like Sasuke was now unlocked, his body no longer keeping him prisoner.
“Naruto,” he breathed out, over and over again, every nerve ending alight as they held each other.
I was listening to this song called Heat Up by Giant Rooks as I wrote this (that's where the chapter title comes from and honestly the lyrics are just *chef's kiss*) and I really tried to use as much metaphor as I could, idk if that makes it sound boring haha but for once I was definitely thinking very hard about every single sentence. And I tried to make it as "alive" as I could, so you'd feel it rather than have it described to you.
An eternity later they calmed down, mouths sliding lazily over each other, heartbeats finally finding their shared rhythm. Their foreheads pressed together, Sasuke’s eyes fluttering open to meet deep blue, their usual strength faded into self-doubt.
“What’s wrong?” he asked, running his fingers through Naruto’s hair, thumb tracing the shell of his ear. “Don’t hide from me, not here.”
Aww look at Sasuke, so in tune with his emotions. He really is an all or nothing kind of guy. If they already share everything in this place, there's no point in having secrets. Besides, his worst fear is Naruto losing confidence because of something he said or did.
Naruto let out a sharp breath, lifting their clasped hands between their chests.
“I missed you,” he said again, eyes closing in pain. “I’m so happy you’ve been okay.”
So much pain. Sasuke struggled to make sense of it, so much of it reflected inwards, towards Naruto himself. He could understand the longing, the absence of him like a gaping hole. It mirrored his own pain, pain he’d locked inside his heart within a steel cage. It flowed freely now, wrapping around Naruto’s in recognition.
But the rest… Naruto let out a sob, and yet he was smiling. Sasuke pressed another kiss to his lips, unsure of what to say.
I know Naruto did that whole waterfall thing where he embraced his evil side and totally let go of all his negative energy... But you can't tell me he's 100% okay and only happy and never feels pain. When will Konoha start offering therapy... Jokes aside, at this moment in time Naruto is so conflicted. The whole time he's been worried about Sasuke leaving him, and telling himself that Sasuke would be happier in the other dimension, and that logically he should let Sasuke stay, but he absolutely doesn't want Sasuke to leave him. It's the most selfish thing he's ever felt, I think, this need to have Sasuke by his side. And he's got so much on his shoulders, just piling up, everyone relying on him to somehow magically fix the world. And he's afraid of failing, of acknowledging to himself that there are parts of him that aren't ready to shoulder this burden, that he's still hurting, that there's still a part of him that could have become like Menma. He's supposed to be completely selfless but he isn't, and he thinks of that as a character flaw, a personal failure. And that's kind of where his resolution to not become hokage comes from. Because he doesn't think he can remove this selfish parts of him, and so maybe he should embrace them instead.
“Sasuke, it’s so strange…” Naruto started, his words slow, carefully chosen. “You understand Charasuke so well, but Menma… I can’t accept him. And now I realize, he shows the ugliest parts of me. The parts that I’m afraid of.”
They both leaned back a little, to see each other’s faces. Light played over Naruto’s features, blurring him at the edges. Sasuke cupped his cheek, tilting his chin up so that their eyes met. Now that he knew what to look for, he could feel Naruto’s fear.
“It’s always there,” Naruto confessed, raw honesty in his voice. “The fear of losing you. The fear of not being strong enough. The fear of becoming hokage, and failing.”
Sasuke opened his mouth to say something, to reassure him, but Naruto shook his head quickly.
Sasuke, on the other hand, he never held himself up to be a good person. He's well aware that he has weaknesses, that he's putting up walls so he won't have to deal with emotions and stuff. But he does believe (a bit blindly) in Naruto, I think. Even though he thinks Naruto won't succeed, it's not because of anything that Naruto does or fails to do. He thinks it's because the world won't follow him, that Konoha isn't capable of change. But he never thought that Naruto would actually give up or have these kinds of doubts.
“Let me say this. I didn’t understand it at first. Menma always rubbed me the wrong way. I know you don’t like him either, but for me… It’s like looking at myself and knowing I gave up.”
He drew in a deep breath, his fingers trembling around Sasuke’s.
“And now, here, I can’t avoid that fear. Because all of it… all of it is for you, Sasuke.” He swallowed, and through the fear, Sasuke saw his determination. “You asked me, if there’s any room in my head for anyone but you. And there isn’t.”
Naruto's brain is 99% Sasuke and 1% ramen, that's just fact. That aside, this might be one of my favorite quotes in the fic.
Frowning, Sasuke bit the inside of his cheek to stay silent. Naruto was working up to something, he could tell, and part of him couldn’t help but think it would end the two of them.
“Don’t look at me like that,” Naruto said, drawing the pad of his thumb over Sasuke’s eyebrow, the touch equal parts reassuring and painful. “I can hear your thoughts, you know. Do you really believe that I would choose anything else over you?”
A lie caught on Sasuke’s tongue. He didn’t want to believe it, but what place did he have by Naruto’s side? How could he be all that Naruto wanted him, needed him, to be? How could he be someone that others would accept walking by his side?
Oh, Sasuke. Always so ready for Naruto to cast him aside. He doesn't want to stand in the way of Naruto's dreams *wipes tear*
“I don’t believe that you would want to,” he replied, eventually. “But maybe you should.”
They stood for a long time, looking at each other. Sasuke felt torn in two directions. He wanted to tell Naruto to never leave him. He wanted to say that he’d accept anything. That he’d remove himself from Naruto’s presence to make the choice for him. That he couldn’t, wouldn’t, stand between Naruto and his dreams.
That he’d known, all along, that the other dimension was only a dream. An impossibility. That he accepted this, and wouldn’t resent Naruto for choosing the village over him.
I think the difference between Naruto and Sasuke here, is that even though they both think the other should maybe leave them for better things, Naruto is much less ready to actually give Sasuke up. Sasuke is more of the martyr type lol.
“You deserve me,” Naruto said, voice dark with conviction. “Don’t you dare think otherwise. Don’t you understand? If you saw what I’ve been doing the past days…”
Naruto lifted their joined hands higher, shifted his grip until he held Sasuke’s palm open in front of himself.
“I thought only of you. I cared only about you. What good is the village to me, if you’re not there?”
His heart felt too heavy in his chest. Naruto’s words rang through his ears, the implication behind them ensnaring his heart until Naruto held it in his hand, too.
“I don’t want any of it, if you’re not with me.”
Sasuke lowered his eyes. He couldn’t allow himself to give in. He’d already given so much, and although he knew that Naruto would have this, too, it was too much in this moment.
“Sasuke… When are you going to recognize that you’re a good person? That even if our relationship hadn’t changed like this, I’d still need you beside me?”
I wanted to write this part so badly... To make Naruto tell Sasuke that he's a good person. That Naruto thinks so, at least. It's one of the first things I thought of for this scene. Not that Sasuke agrees haha.
“Me, a good person?” Sasuke raised his eyebrows, meeting Naruto’s gaze again. He recognized the stubborn glint in Naruto’s eyes, and sighed. “Even if that was true, you’re smart enough to know it’s not enough.”
Slowly, Naruto pulled his hand closer, his grip turning gentle. Sasuke caught himself holding his breath, as Naruto’s lips connected with the mark on his palm.
“You still don’t understand,” Naruto murmured, the movement of his lips tickling Sasuke’s skin. “The past few days, what have you been doing? Caring for the children, when I wasn’t there to do it. Putting Charasuke before yourself, comforting him in the ways he needed you to. Holding yourself together. Trusting me to come back.”
This is where we acknowledge exactly how much Sasuke has changed. Naruto spent the days apart thinking only of Sasuke, even to the point where he was neglecting his friends and duties. Sasuke, on the other hand, stepped up to fill the role he thought Naruto left behind, hiding his pain behind helping others. Ultimately trusting Naruto to hold his promise to come back. Also, I just want them to be soft with each other T_T
Staring at him, Sasuke’s breath caught in his chest at the swell of pride Naruto felt for him. Was it true, that he had changed so much? In Naruto’s eyes, he had. It was startling, to realize how Naruto thought of him. But Naruto had changed too, he thought. They had grown closer, in a way he didn’t think they could have in their own Konoha.
“I think Charasuke is a bit like you,” Sasuke said, lips twitching upwards at Naruto’s affronted look. “He needs physical comfort. I don’t mind giving it to you, and I guess I don’t mind giving it to him either. You both tend to do whatever you feel like, anyway.”
“You used to mind.” Naruto looked serious, reaching out to touch Sasuke’s mouth as if to prove his point. “Suddenly, you didn’t.”
The smile slipped from Sasuke’s lips. Naruto was right. A few weeks ago, he did push Charasuke out of the window. To be fair, Charasuke hadn’t liked him much back then, either, and the circumstances had been very different. He did understand him better now. If Menma represented Naruto’s fears, Charasuke represented everything Sasuke wanted in life. But Charasuke didn’t have Naruto, didn’t have Menma with him either, and maybe that was why Sasuke wanted to be there for him. His connection with Naruto was precious to him, had kept him going, had kept him questioning himself even in his worst moments of darkness. Had given him a reason not to give up on a life that wasn’t filled with pain and hatred.
Naruto made it worth it to change. Was he hoping to help Charasuke change, too?
Spoiler alert... yes you were, Sas.
Perhaps Kaguya had something to do with it, but maybe, even without her influence, he would have reached this point anyway if given enough time. Time they didn’t have back home. It surprised him to realize that Naruto had thought of this already. That he felt selfish for wanting Sasuke to go back with him, when he knew it would be painful.
“You minded when I touched you, too,” Naruto added, as a reminder that they were talking about the two of them.
“I didn’t.” It was easy to confess. “I couldn’t allow myself to accept it, but I never minded. And now…”
Even if Naruto could read most of his thoughts in this space, it was difficult to say the words.
“I was afraid to have more of you. I still am.  Because I know they’ll never accept it.”
Sasuke vs homophobia :( Can't really kill that with a sword. Sasuke was definitely in love with him before they went to the RTN dimension, he'd just buried it so deep that he had no idea it was there or what it was. If you separate love from attraction it's not really gay, is it? (It is)
Naruto kissed him again, desperately. There were so many thoughts swirling between them, a mess of images and emotions overshadowed by the overwhelming fear of losing each other.
Naruto’s guilt, for not being able to reach Menma like Sasuke reached Charasuke. Their worry for each other. The frustration of being forced to wait. Sasuke’s slow realization of how much Naruto meant to him. How much his family meant to him, even a different version of them.
“I can’t be without you again,” Naruto said, swallowing thickly. “There’s so much I want to say and I don’t know how.”
“I’m here,” Sasuke promised. “Any way you want me to be.”
Even though it hurt, knowing the struggle that lay ahead of them, how Naruto had struggled only the past few days.
He wasn’t sure when he’d closed his eyes, but Naruto’s hands holding his face between them made him open them again. His expression was serious, almost solemn.
“I think you’d be happier if you stayed there,” Naruto whispered, searching his eyes. “You can’t deny it. I know they’d take care of you, and I can tell that your bond with your family is important to you. In a different way than ours, but still. I’d forgive you, if you chose them.”
Stop sacrificing yourself, Naruto. I don't like it.
“How could you say that?” Sasuke grabbed Naruto’s wrists, glaring at him. “Even after everything you said about how you can’t be without me, how you’d never choose anything over me, and you still think I would leave you? Even when you can feel my heart, you think I won’t choose you no matter what?”
Sasuke calling him out, as he should.
He knocked their foreheads together, tightening his grip.
“You think I’d choose happiness over you?”
How could he be happy, if Naruto wasn’t there with him? It wasn’t even an option. He cared about Charasuke, that was true. And the other version of Itachi, of Shisui, his family… Even the Sakura of that world. But how could they compare? Losing Charasuke would hurt, but it wouldn’t rip his soul apart. Staying with them would be a life, but it wouldn’t be living. How could Naruto think of himself as selfish, and still be so incredibly selfless when it came to Sasuke? What was he supposed to do, to make Naruto trust him once and for all?
“If I deserve you, why wouldn’t you deserve me in turn?”
Naruto didn’t have an answer to that. Sasuke hadn’t expected him to, and he felt him struggle with the concept. Naruto’s hero complex wasn’t doing either of them any good.
Like, I personally don't like the concept of anyone deserving love or not deserving it. Love is something you give, freely, regardless of how society values the other person. The love you give isn't less worth depending on the person receiving it. But I think the both of them are so traumatized that they need to make peace with this concept. They kind of need to be told - yes, you do deserve love, and I will give it to you. Naruto's hero complex is like... we don't have time to unpack all of that.
“You want to do this the hard way?” Sasuke continued, tone sharp. “I’ll do it with you. I don’t think you’ll succeed but I’ll do it.”
He gathered up all his resolve, all his conviction, pushed aside his own reservations.
“Saying you’ll forgive me… that’s a lie. You wouldn’t. You never would. And I wouldn’t want you to, anyway. If you wanted me by your side and I couldn’t do it, you’d be right to hate me.”
“I could never hate you.”
“Then I’d hate myself.”
Bearing each other's burdens and all that...
Naruto made a face, as if to disagree, but Sasuke felt him smile despite the topic of their conversation.
“What kind of role reversal is this,” he muttered, pressing his thumbs into Sasuke’s cheeks childishly. “I don’t even know why I’m arguing about it.”
“Because you love me.”
They stared at each other. Naruto’s eyes widened in shock, but Sasuke held his ground. What was the point in pretending anything else? It all made sense like this, and perhaps deep down Sasuke had always suspected it, even before he returned to Konoha.
“Y-you can’t just say it out loud!” Naruto spluttered, slapping his hands onto his own face instead, hiding behind them with a groan. “Stop being so smug about it!”
Me, while I wrote this: Yeah, you can't just say that out loud! The pain of being perceived. I am suffering with Naruto.
“I won the argument, didn’t I?”
“Ugh, shut up!”
Feeling lighter, Sasuke wrapped his arms around Naruto, leaning his cheek against the top of his head, Naruto burying his nose in his neck. He’d deny it when they were back in reality, but he could feel that Naruto wanted the body contact, and he was unable to resist it. It didn’t take long for Naruto to calm down, releasing a huff into Sasuke’s neck.
“Maybe we can just stay in this place forever,” he said, sneaking his arms around Sasuke’s back.
“You’d miss ramen too much.”
If an emotional scene doesn't end with a joke, what are you even doing with your life. But writing them hug was like, releasing so many endorphins. I'm weak to it.
It was strange, to talk and immediately feel every thought behind the words, every emotion on full display. Naruto’s amusement radiated off him, and it was his turn to feel a little smug as he concentrated on everything that Sasuke felt for him.
When Naruto started imagining long days spent in bed, Sasuke rolled his eyes and decided they’d been emotional enough for the time being.
Sasuke like, I can accept the lovey-dovey stuff, but I draw a thick line in front of the bedroom door. He's got some work left to do lol.
Idk if any of this made any sense but... there you have it!

Author’s notes: Please read, thank you!
Hello sasusaku fandom, it’s me ya girl, back after so many years to join the fandom once more. I have been missing this couple dearly and after going through a lot of fanarts, I stumbled upon my favorite girl and biggest inspiration strawberrycreampiefluff. She had made a mini doujinshi years ago, and I wanted to create a story about it so badly. So, I contracted her, got her blessings and created this mini monster fic you will read below (which she will hopefully recreate into a full fanart comic when she finds time - love you girl! - please support my friend’s art, it’s amazing!). This is a collab between us sort of. The first chapter is like a prologue - introduction to get the gist of things. This takes place after the last, but before sasusaku travels, kind of an alternate way of how sasusaku got together. I tried to keep the characters as close to canon as possible and this my first official full chaptered fic, so please be kind and leave comments and likes to show your opinion and support.
You can also read it on fanfiction and Ao3.

“Act one: Different mission objectives”
Haruno Sakura walks briskly towards the Hokage tower, her high-heeled shinobi sandals clanking against the pavement as she makes her presence known to the people who pass by. A few heads turn around, mostly males, to stare at her. She is known as one of the most beautiful women – if not the most – in Konoha. As the Fifth’s apprentice, she is working at the hospital as the top chief and she is well respected by shinobi villages all around the world for her talent in medical jutsu.
Sakura is currently dressed her hospital clothes, because her shift at the hospital just ended. She is wearing a button up white shirt that’s left slightly unbuttoned when it reaches her chest, a short black skirt and her white medical robe on top. She is heading to meet Tsunade who just asked for her to be present at her office immediately. The pink haired girl already knows what that means and what it entails.
It is a new mission.
That has to be it. It has been months since the last one, and her working hard as a medical ninja limited her chances of being sent into one. She is more than ready for it. However, she has a feeling this is only the start of bad news. Knowing her teacher, it has to be a special kind of mission. Being called so suddenly like that also gives her the heads up to guess the genre of it.
It must be a flower mission.
Yes, flower, Sakura thinks and nods to herself after waving at some people who greet her.
Flower mission is a term for female ninjas only. It is a code for a seduction mission.
Going and especially accepting a seduction mission is a big step for shinobi women. It is a very sensitive topic and it needs to be handled delicately and in secrecy. It is a powerful weapon which when used correctly, the mission will be done easily or quickly depending on the execution.
The three-man team pattern has most young girls create bonds or worse falling in love and it makes them attached in one way or another to their male teammates. That is why most ninja women have a difficulty seducing another man. The life of a ninja is usually short; you never know what could happen and the kunoichis value the idea of love. Still though, a woman’s power is strong and every kunoichi succeeds efficiently in their own little style.
The moment Sakura comes into the office, Tsunade’s head snaps up. The two women hold eye-contact for a few seconds before the younger medic closes the door behind her with a soft thud.
No one else is in the room, so Sakura guesses that whatever the fifth Hokage is about to tell her must be something of importance. She makes her way into the room and with elegant movements sits down on the chair that is positioned right in front of the desk. There are no formalities between apprentice and teacher when no one is around to watch, and since Tsunade made no sign to stop her, she also speaks first.
“Tsunade-sama, you called me.” It is not a question, but it is not a mere observation either.
The older woman sighs and puts her folded hands beneath her chin. Her eyes close for a moment and then she lifts her head upwards, giving Sakura a fond and soft look like a proud mother would give to her grown up child. A blonde strand escapes from her well-made and low ponytail and her red manicured fingers come forth to tag it back to place. An elegant move, and there is no wonder where Sakura took her beautiful ways from.
“Yes, I did,” Tsunade pauses for a second and then hastily continues, going straight to the point. There is no time for pleasantries. “I have a new mission for you.”
There is no surprise on Sakura’s face and Tsunade cannot tell if she already knew what her intentions are or she has simply masked her face with a facade of indifference. A true kunoichi right there, but then again…it could be the influence of a certain brooding male.
Before Sakura could ask more, Tsunade beat her into it and answers to her unspoken question. “It is a seduction mission.”
This time the girl reacts instantly and she blinks profusely, pink eyelashes fanning rosy cheeks repeatedly. “A-ah,” Sakura lets out a squeaky response, knowing the consequences of such mission.
So I was right! It is a flower mission, she thinks and curses mentally. Here come the arising problems and she has not even started yet.
“I know, but believe me, I have no choice,” Tsunade put her palms atop of the desk and she pushes her chair back slightly, “This mission is specifically made for you.”
The woman knows what she is doing to her student right now, but seriously the girl is one of the best out there. Her exotic looks and endless beauty draws men like magnets to her. Besides, with her alluring ways and witty personality, she can bend even iron willed males, for example, Sasuke Uchiha.
Sakura has already made a list of problems at the back of her mind and her inner self screams in horror.
This is her first official seduction mission. How the hell is she supposed to break the news to rest of Team 7? She cannot straight go up to them and tell them. Naruto will surely react instantly and whine about it until the next decade. She has a feeling Kakashi, being trained under Tsunade, might already know something about this mission and that leaves her with one last important person to tell.
The man her heart yearns for.
After coming back from his redemption journey, Sasuke was a changed man. He was everything she had hoped for. Some parts of his character still remained the same that go back to his genin days, but she saw a new side of him that has been hidden for years, buried deep within all the hatred he harbored for most of his life. The last Uchiha has always been a cool character with a calculating thought process. The difference now was that he was free from the hatred and sins that plagued most of his life.
That is where the healing took place – right at this heart.
While he was away he helped many people during his journey across all the lands. That in return helped him find himself. He learned to love himself again and he stopped being angry at the world. He saw life from a different perspective and by the time he returned the storm inside his mind was calm once more.
Sakura’s heart flourished when he came back two months ago.
The two have been spending time together more than ever. They hang out after Sakura’s shifts at the hospital during the day either alone or with the rest of Team 7, sometimes including Sai. Other days, when their schedules are not so busy, Naruto comes and collects each one of them so they can have dinner at Ichiraku just the three of them. On special occasions, when the Hokage in training feels extra giddy, he will bring Hinata along and they will have something akin to double dates as he likes to call them.
It is an unspoken secret that the relationship between Sasuke and Sakura is a complicated one. They are at the stage where sometimes they act like they are together or other times they are on the verge of being in a relationship. Sakura knows what she is feeling that is for sure. The pure, unwavering love she feels for him is rooted deep within her and grows everyday as she watches him be happier and calmer before her eyes. They have had their moments of intimacy together before. Instances where they became close -  she remembers those intense feelings they shared through eye contact and hushed whispers when they were left alone.
The first one was after the war when Sasuke was in prison. The first time he expressed his feelings towards what had happened between them all those years. All the wrong and the ugly parts of himself he wanted to distinguish himself from.
In those quiet moments in the dark where he could not see, his eyes sealed like the criminal he was, he told her the truth. He trusted her now to reveal the ugly truth of Konoha and its elders. He divulged all the hardships his brother, Itachi Uchiha, had to endure to bring peace to the world. In a whisper, he confessed all about his clan like a dirty secret -like he was the sinner and she was the priest. And like the true healer she was, Sakura helped him see the good in him that she knew was still there and gave him disclosure. He accepted her kind words once more with a simple nod and a quiet thank you. But for Sakura, at the current time, it was more than enough. She saw the change in him. It was a small start but she would accept it. The young woman had endured harder things in the past after all.
Later that night, when she cried angry tears at the unfairness of the world, because now she knew finally about the Uchiha massacre, she knew all of them had to endure something hard in their lives and learn to live with it. But god if it did not hurt her that he was the one left suffering the most. And she just wished, she hoped, her love was enough to heal that part of himself that was trying to recover.
The second one was when he left for his redemption journey. While they had spend a few moments together before he left, nothing compares to that single experience. She knew she had to wait for him again, but this time it was not a tear jerking moment with her heart lurching in her throat. No, this time, it was her mind buzzing with all the implications his fingers left on her forehead and the fond look he was giving her.
The third one was when the Konoha 12 had their first night all together again. Of course Naruto had a hand in organizing once again. That little rascal, Sakura had thought then fondly. This guy was always trying his best to bring people together and he was doing a damn good job at it. The fact that he was able to persuade Sasuke into an outing like that was a feat itself.
Everything was going smoothly until the drinks started pouring in. Shots after shots of sake had Sakura feeling pleasantly tipsy that night, but she was not the only with that effect of alcohol on her. Somehow everyone had more than a little in their system and that did not exclude the moody male of Team 7. He was acting normal alright, Sakura would have told you, she was sure of it. But then, Ino Yamanaka, her notorious best friend was dragging her along the dance floor and she could not help but feel a hot stare at the back of her head. Goosebumps arising on her skin had her on edge. She knew then he was blatantly staring at her and he was not trying to hide it in the slightest. It was like then everyone knew what going on and her axis had sifted on its head. She could not fathom this would be the place where Sasuke would lose all his inhibitions, much less with everyone watching in anticipation his next moves. Naruto on the other hand, unbeknownst to her, was throwing just the right comments here and there, making Sasuke see Sakura from a different perspective. About time, if you had asked Naruto; he watched Sasuke analyze Sakura dancing as if she was a riddle ready to be solved.
Sasuke, at the hot age of twenty, was now a young man and finding a woman attractive was the natural course of life. However, for him these new profound feelings confused him. He did not know what he was feeling and all he wanted to do now was stare at Sakura until his eyes tired themselves out. He was ready to activate his sharingan just so he could commit that image to his memory.
That feeling in his chest was starting to bother him though and suddenly he felt all the stares on him from the intense chakra he was producing. Looking around he felt second hand embarrassment for himself, his ears getting red. Getting a shot of sake from the nearby table, Sasuke gulped down its contents and got ready to leave his position at the bar. He could not handle to keep his emotions in check any longer and this was bad. He was not ready to admit to himself what he was feeling and trying to suppress it any longer could do more harm than good. Better he left the situation right now before he put him and Sakura in a compromising position he was not ready to handle yet.
Right at that moment, Sakura decided to turn around, her dress sticking to her like a vice from all the sweat her intense dancing had caused. One look at Sasuke had time freezing. They held an intense eye contact for a few seconds, and her heart fluttered in her chest. She saw the change in him, she has seen that look before when other men had stared her way in the past. It was then she knew, tonight had been something more to him even though nothing has transpired between them yet. Maybe Sasuke was not ready to acknowledge these feelings yet, but Sakura had hope that this was the start of something new between them.
Feeling bold she started to approach him, confident in herself and brave enough thanks to the alcohol she had consumed. The moment she moved, she saw him flatter in his steps. He was about to leave and escape. The fearless Sasuke Uchiha was scared of what was transpiring between them, but she was not about to let him have his chance to escape this time. Sakura saw his jaw clenching and his hand flattering at his side from its place at the bar stool. He stared at her unblinkingly, waiting for her next move like they were about to have a fight at the training grounds.
Sakura then approached the bar like she owned the place and opened her mouth to say the most simple words known to existence.
“Hey, Sasuke”, she greeted in a whoosh, a breathless exclamation. She leaned against the bar stool and waited for the inevitable dismissal of denial.
Sakura found herself surprised however when he went rigid and leaned forward his towering body over her like he was about to whisper a dirty secret in her ear.
“You are different from the last time I remember you,” He confessed hotly, his mouth near her neck. If it was not for the obvious fact that she knew him well, any other person would have thought he was drunkenly leaning on her, but Sakura is not anybody and she understands this the way of him hiding his emotions from showing on his face in the shadows her neck provides.
What a weird way of seeking comfort from his own shyness, Sakura thought.
She idly recalled then that they were not in fact alone and Naruto was right behind them. When he started making obscene signs with his hands Sakura felt herself flush from head to toe, but the murderous glint in her eyes was apparently enough to stop Naruto’s crudeness.
“Eh, Sasuke-kun, what do you mean?”, she asked hesitantly, her hand raising and resting on Sasuke’s back in a sense of comfort. The soft material of his black shirt damp against her palm.
They were almost approaching the stage of hugging right in front of everybody.
Before they could complete the hug though, Sasuke’s head turned to the left, his cheek almost brushing against Sakura’s. The pink haired girl shyly turned her head slightly towards his direction, their faces almost touching. Out of the corner of his eye, he could see the effect he still had on her and damn him if he he did not thrive on it.
He could think of all the nice things he could say to her, now it was the perfect time to take a step closer to approaching the inevitable connection they have. But his mind had other plans when the words slipped out of his mouth. In a teasing manner he was only capable of, he smirked and said, “More annoying than ever.”
He was sure she must have caught on his teasing by now. Using bitter words of the past to heal their wounds by putting another meaning to it. She was a smart woman and she could understand his actions better than anyone.
Sasuke knew she had caught on when he felt her fist punch lightly his stomach as if to punish him for insulting her.
“That is not a very nice way of complimenting someone, Sasuke-kun,” she whispered angrily, facing him completely. Any traces of wonder were gone from her emerald eyes replaced with mirth and she continued, smiling menacingly at him, “I thought I taught you better than that.”
“Hm,” Sasuke hummed in response and stood straight once again, looking down at her.
By now they had become a spectacle to their friends, the black haired male could feel Naruto almost bristling with excitement from behind him and he was not about to disappoint his friend who has been pestering him to get on with his feelings already.
“I guess we should spend more time together so I can get better at it.”
The double meaning behind his words was evident.
Sasuke Uchiha then patted Sakura Haruno’s head like it was the most natural thing in the world to do and smiled down at her gently.
His female teammate took a big breath through her nose, rosy cheeks glowing, and crossed her arms across her chest. She had him where she wanted him.
“Damn right we should!”
That was one week ago from her current position at the Hokage office. Just when she was making a great progress with seducing Sasuke, she has to go and approach another man for a mission. Talk about making matters weird between them. The worst part is the fact that she has to tell him. She wonders what his reaction is going to be considering they are not together yet. Is he going to act jealous or indifferent?
Who is she kidding? He is just going to glare her with this stupid scary look he gives in assassination missions to terrify people off the moment the words come out of her mouth and that is it.
“I haven’t finished yet,” Tsunade literally saw the thoughts displayed across Sakura’s face. It is like her life passed before her eyes, and her skin got a tad paler.
“Of course there is more,” the pink haired girl mumbles sadly while looking down, but the Hokage lets it slide.
“You will have back-up,” Tsunade says and sees with the corner of her eye Sakura sucking in a breath, “the rest of Team 7 will be with you,” and then next thing she knows the girl is chocking on air.
“W-what?” Sakura coughed out, giving her teacher a desperate look.
She feels like she is the center of the world and it is slowly closing up on her. Life suddenly looks less appealing, because good old Team 7 is back on track again with Sakura’s first seduction mission as a head start.
“Tsunade-sama, please tell me you are joking.” The pink haired medic grabs the sides of the armchair and hopes it does not break and crumble along with her composure.
The young woman also hopes her teacher is having some kind of twisted pleasure out of this because she is certainly not feeling happy with the news.
Tsunade wants to reprimand her student for losing her temper, but she understands what the girl is going through and also knows she in no better position to talk when it comes to matters like this. Still though, ears and eyes are everywhere and they must keep a low profile when in the Hokage’s office.
“Sakura,” The curvy female looks at her seriously, “Team 7 will be the back-up of this mission and that’s final.”
I am doing it for your sake, Tsunade wants to say but keeps quiet instead.
Somehow, Sakura understands where her teacher is coming from. This will be a test for both sides. It is a test for her that is for sure. A test for patience, a test for her relationship, a test for her seduction abilities both on the target and Sasuke, because let’s be honest, who is going to calm down the last Uchiha other than her?
Sakura closes her eyes, takes a calming breath through her mouth and then controls the pattern as taught by Ino’s yoga lessons. She could do it this.
The young female opens her pretty green eyes once again and then stares at Tsunade straight in eye, a determined expression on her face. The will of fire is practically seeping through her and her fiery temper is burning up again but for another cause.
“That’s the spirit,” Tsunade says proudly and hands her the scroll that has been lying on the wooden desk the whole time. “This is your target, Misty Jade.”
The first thing Sakura does when she steps into the house is to check for a specific chakra signature around the area. Sasuke pays frequent visits to her house nowadays you would think he lived in there, having keys and all, but alas.
She lets out a long sigh of relief, glad that she did not detect Sasuke’s compelling presence. Thank heavens, cost is clear. The twenty year old girl suspects that the males of Team 7 had already been called to Tsunade’s office, the second she was out of the vicinity. She mentally praises her teacher and then she decides to prepare for battle. The kunoichi briefly wonders how the hell she is supposed to deal with this. She has no clue how to handle this.
Sakura runs upstairs, heading straight to the bedroom. She slams the door open, scroll still in hand, and starts rummaging through her things in order to pack. After a few minutes of checking everything, she put all the necessary items in her mission bag. From medical supplies to energy pills to scrolls to clothes to a sleeping bag and lastly to the money she will need for the seduction necessities she has to buy. Finally finished, she sits down on the bed, crumpling the blue silky sheets in the process. Then, Sakura unrolls the scroll and reads.
Mission #B039                     Type: B-rank               Specialist: F (female)
Stage: Pre                             Place: Village hidden in the Waterfalls
Target: Misao Takashi
Gender: Male
Age: 25 years old
Characteristics: Red hair, blue eyes and relatively tall.
Efficiency: Messenger
Information: Misao Takashi is an important messenger between two feud lords that control and lead illegal product transportations. Your mission is to seduce said messenger that has in his possession a folder with contract papers which contain info for the next meet up and also a pair of keys. This is the part one of the main ANBU mission that will follow after you succeed. Mission includes back-up. Good luck.
The kunoichi falls back on the bed with a flop, thinking how she should approach the mission. She idly scratches her scalp and tosses her body around from side to side, her long pink locks sprawled across the bed sheets moving along with her. Sakura knows what the village hidden in the Waterfalls is known for.  And if her guesses are right, a guy like him would go to a special kind of place. The men of Team 7 will also go there.
“This is just great!” Sakura shouts even though no one is in the room.
She stares up at ceiling, her mind thinking of all the possibilities and scenarios. The pink haired girl knows what to do to succeed in this mission, however hiding from Sasuke is the main problem.
With huff she stands up and starts pacing around the room while babbling nonsense and muttering profanities out loud, until the idea hits her.
“Of course,” Sakura jumps on the bed, “Tsunade-shishou is the solution!”
She lies down, calm once again, and grabs a nearby pillow, squeezing it close to her chest. The warmth it provides calms her for a second, but she resists the urge to snuggle it closer. The girl can already imagine the Uchiha’s frown when she will tell him that she will be staying at Tsunade’s for a few days in order to work on some papers that have to do with the hospital.
Sakura just hopes he will believe it for her sake and for the sake of this mission.
                                                        ❤︎
“It’s dirty and disgusting in here,” Sasuke mutters angrily, sitting uncomfortably on the animal print armchair, “Why do we even have to do this?”
The hot pink, soft and furry material irritates him even more as his elbow barely glides on it, making it difficult for him to nurse his drink. It is too warm, too velvety.
The last Uchiha almost growls out of sheer annoyance. This mission is far too low for his standards. He cannot believe he allowed himself to be dragged in here. His pride is hurt goddammit. Yes, he may be a man, but he has never set foot in a pleasure house. Or as his best friend and ex-sensei like to call it: a strip club.
The atmosphere is suffocating him, the lights are too dim. All kinds of different and hypnotizing aromas assault his senses, making his clear mind drunk and hazy. He cannot tell if it is his alcoholic beverage that is making him feel this way or it is the misty cloud of seduction and pleasure filled nights that surround this place.
The men of Team 7 have been assigned on a mission just yesterday as a backup to an ANBU specialist. Sasuke was definitely not pleased with the news, but he could not go against the fifth Hokage’s orders as much he wanted to, so he mildly complained until he was shushed by Tsunade. So, here they are today, in the place that their target and the other shinobi are supposed to be. Sasuke Uchiha, Naruto Uzumaki and Kakashi Hatake, being expert ninjas, have already detected the target sitting in the middle of the area, near the front. And now they have to wait. If something goes wrong, only then they are allowed to interfere.
“Focus, Sasuke.” Kakashi says calmly, a white hospital mask covering his face instead of his usual ninja attire. “A mission is a mission.”
The grey haired shinobi is collected as always, and Sasuke cannot help but scowl.
As if the ridiculous place is not enough problems, they were also forced to wear formal clothes. Supposedly, they are ordinary men looking for some fun and not ninjas who are capable of killing anyone in the room within seconds. Thus, the men of Team 7 have to make it believable by dressing up fancily to blend in with crowd and to stay undistinguished.
“Well, it’s not that bad in here.” Naruto tells them with a foxy grin on his face, clearly excited to be in a place like this. A slight blush is covering his cheeks since he has been consuming a few portions of alcohol for an hour now. The blond is pleasantly tipsy and happier than usual.
“Shut up Naruto,” Sasuke turns to his left and addresses his best friend, “If Hinata found out you’re here, she would dump you.”
Sasuke is very irritated, and that results to more insults and jibs than normal. He crosses his legs, right ankle meeting left knee, just to move and do something out of spite.
“T-That’s not true!” The man immediately tries to explain, “I told her it was a mission and she was okay with it!”
Naruto’s face visibly falls, and he looks at Sasuke with his puppy dog eyes. However, before the blonde could set off, being an emotional drunk and all, Sasuke just looks at other side, ready to ignore the impending whining.
Is he even allowed to be drinking on such mission? Kakashi better do something, Sasuke thinks, complaining inside his head instead.
“Don’t fight.” Their teacher interrupts, knowing how those two are and how bad they can get when Sakura is not around to stop them.
He has even given them just enough freedom, permitting them to drink, because he knows they are the back-up of this mission and not the main person. Kakashi strongly believes that intervention will not be needed, considering this an efficient ANBU specialist sent by the Hokage herself.
So, Kakashi just sits relaxed, waits and enjoys the show.
The oldest member of Team 7 is wearing a dark grey button-up shirt, the collar slightly open and a pair of black trousers. Naruto has a similar style, except he sports a nice pair of jeans with a light blue button-up shirt that makes his gorgeous eyes stand out more. Sasuke opts for a more classic style though, completing his look with black trousers, a white button-up shirt (with the first button undone) and an onyx suit jacket to top it off.
It is an extraordinary night today since the place is filled to the brim with men of all ages and from different villages, plus, the interior design of the club is full of pretty decorations. As the shining neon letters say outside on the wooden board above the club’s name, Hustler’s Ho, it promises a night of busty tricks and naughty chicks, and of course a special guest. Sasuke didn’t pay attention to the name, it is useless information anyways.
The waitresses are all beautiful women holding silver trays with glitter and fruity scented oils applied on their bodies and every time they move under the low dimmed lights to serve the customers, their smooth skins sparkle teasingly. The atmosphere is thick with cigarette smoke, but despite that, the room somehow smells good because of the enticing scents that come off from all the perfume the females of the club have put on.
Red velvet curtains hang from the ceiling at the left side of the club and make up for entrances to the changing rooms, while the bar and the bathrooms are at the right side of it. In the center of the room is the stage where the lights shine the most since the ceiling has a lot of spotlights in all kinds of colors there. The rest of the huge area is only provided with low dimmed lights and that makes the dancers at the stage stand out more. The walls are painted a dark pink color and it gives the room a sense of obscurity and raw sexuality.
Great amount of money gets thrown at the stage as the ladies entertain the crowd with their dancing skills either on the poles or on the floor. Excited shouts of more can be heard even from where the members of Team 7 are seated at the back of the club. The dancers are barely dressed in Sasuke’s opinion; too much skin is bared for the eyes to feast. He averts his eyes, a light blush dusting his cheeks.
A dark blonde girl is currently dancing, her back turned to the pole, her hands up in the air touching the steel above her head. She is moving her lower half sexily in fluid left and right motions, her hips rolling expertly. The girl is wearing purple lingerie with her hair up in a high ponytail, and money is stuck in all kind of places from the men who put it there. She keeps it professional, but her face still expresses the hidden erotic feelings she wants to convey.
Then, all of a sudden, the music slowly quiets down and a deep male voice comes from the speakers. “Thank you dear, you were amazing as always! Please, grab your money and clear the stage.”
Sasuke silently scoffs and rolls his eyes at this. He should really stop drinking, the alcohol is making him show his irritation and that is not a good thing when on a mission. He has to keep his face impassive, bring forth a cold facade. Especially when in that said mission, Sakura is not there to calm him down and Naruto only breathes to make it worse for him with his antics. Of course, Kakashi is nonchalant as always.
The crowd gets almost completely silent, only a few murmurs can be heard now, and the unknown voice continues. “Only today, we have a special guest dancing…”
Without warning, a swift sound gains the attention of everyone inside the room. It is a whoosh of air fluttering against hard yet soft and velvet material that signals that the curtains have just been opened. The whispers get a tad bit louder at this, but get lost when the raspy voice resonates through the room once again. “Now, gentlemen, prepare to meet tonight’s special guest, a beauty and an exotic flower among the ladies…”
The sound came from the left side of the club, near the back. Heels clanking against the floor in a steady rhythm and elegant manner are the only thing that can be heard. The steps are light and slow paced. It has a nice ring to it, the continuous clicking is pleasant to the ears and everyone is holding their breath in anticipation. The males of Team 7 hear loud gasps, watching as men are getting blown away by the mere sight of this special guest. Heads are turned, all the attention clearly diverted behind. The pace has a unique air of confidence that no one can quite put their finger on. The woman has a stealthy and powerful walking. A soft tune starts playing as an intro while the woman comes closer and closer to the stage.
The dancer narrows the distance between her and the stage as she takes painfully slow steps towards it or so it seems to the eager men. The shadow that still hovers near the area where Team 7 is –thanks to the somber and tricky lighting– hides her, until finally, a curvy form starts to appear as she comes forth to where the light is. Her silver, almost dark gray, stilettos are the first things that show. A few agonizingly and torturous seconds later, long legs and fair smooth skin come into view.
Naruto reacts first, an exclamation leaving his lips. It is not a sharp inhalation of amazement, but it is a loud gasp of shock. His blue eyes widen and there are hazy no more. Cold sweat forms on his forehead, and he is feeling like someone threw cold water on him to wake him up and bring him back to the harsh reality. It is definitely not an easy feat to astound the ninja who is known as the best at surprising people.
The voice resonates through the room once again and the male starts praising the newcomer dancer, “An exotic babe, outstanding with high class skills.” The announcement is over, and the music gets steadily louder while the special guest is one step away from the stage.
She just stands still with her back on the cheering crowd for a few seconds as if to bewitch the already elated men with her beauty. The young woman is posing sensually and it compliments her already perfect body. She is captivating in every sense. Her legs are long and toned while her tights are voluptuous and her rear is curvy. Her waist is slight bent and it makes her behind stand out even more. Her back sparkles teasingly thanks to the glittery substance that has been applied on her skin everywhere on her body. She lifts her left hand up to course it through her silky long locks while her right one is resting on her inner tight in a provocative pose.
That unmistakable pink hair belongs only to one person.
Kakashi feels his mouth hanging open inside his mask. This event took a very fast turn for the worst and he does not like the ending result at all. She is the last person he could think of going up there if you had asked him about it. He closes his eyes and hums quietly awaiting for the impeding doom waiting to happen.
Sasuke reacts not a second too late and his breath hitches. A flash of light blinds him and he blinks his eyes twice in response. The lighting must be playing tricks on him, because there is no fucking way this is Sakura ready to go up there. He freezes and his face goes rigid. His calculating yet beautiful onyx eyes widen and his naturally pouty lips part slightly in shock. A wave of cool air passes by him –probably someone activated a fan to create more special effects for such a unique guest– and it makes his soft black hair flutter in the wind. An intoxicating scent fills his senses and clouds every ounce of rationality within him.
The special guest goes up the stage, turns around and Sasuke can breathe no more.
“Please welcome, Misty Jade!”
Sasuke Uchiha, for the first time in years, sees red.

would you mind telling me where sasuke rushes to save sakura despite the village asking for help? i’m not really up to date with the novels and such, but i’d love to read some of them
It was during Sakura Hiden. I suppose I can also include the below Anon’s ask in my answer since it’s essentially regarding the same topic:
Tumblr media
During said novel, after Sasuke caught wind of the fact that Sakura had been kidnapped by Kido, he went back to try and save her, despite having ignored the village’s prior pleas for assistance with clearing his name. During chapter 4, Kakashi details how he had sent Sasuke messages requesting contact with him in order to discuss the impostor who had been wreaking while disguised as Sasuke. However, Kakashi mentions that he received no responses from him. Naruto and Sakura were later discussing Sasuke during the same chapter, and they said that Sasuke wasn’t responding because he probably didn't think those issues were a big deal. Sasuke’s dismissiveness began to annoy Kido, so he took the next measure. He said and I quote:
“Kidnap her. She is Sasuke’s peer, a woman named Haruno Sakura. If that woman went missing, and if Sasuke hears that news, I think that Sasuke will return to the village.”
And Kido was absolutely right, because when Sasuke learned of Sakura’s capture, that’s what spurned him into action and he went back to help. But of course, Sakura was able to escape on her own, and she only saw the remnants of the thugs that Sasuke had defeated prior to making his swift exit.
The relevant passage from chapter 8 (link to full novel here) is as follows:
“Mm. Somehow...apparently, someone caught up with them before we did and finished them off for us,” Kakashi said, crossing his arms.
“Finished them off for us?” Ino asked.
“You guys know, don't you?” Kakashi asked Team Seven, grinning playfully.
“Yes.” Sakura smiled, and Naruto rubbed the bottom of his nose with a chuckle. Sai also grinned brightly when he got it.
Traces of Fire Style jutsu. The Anbu members attacked with genjutsu. And - maybe it had just been her imagination, but - that figure she saw for an instant from behind.
“What?! You don't mean Sasuke?!” Ino shouted.
“Well, that's probably it.”
“The real one? Seriously?”
“Pretty sure that was the real one,” Kakashi said, laughing.
“What? Then why isn't he here?”
“He probably went back,” Sai said. “To his travelling.”
“No no no, that's just cold. I mean, the village is totally not far from here, right? He could at least stop by. Right, Sakura?”
“Right,” Sakura replied, but strangely, she didn't feel sad about it.
After not reacting at all to this whole thing, practically telling them to handle it themselves, Sasuke came back in the end. She was happy to know this.
On his way back to the village, Sasuke came across the Anbu members cloaked in the Tailed Beast chakra. They fought, and he won with his Fire Style and genjutsu.
If he used his Sharingan, he could read his opponent's memory.
So he probably read the memory of one of the Anbu there. So when he learned about the decisive battle fought by Sakura and the others against Kido, he took in the fact that Kido's chakra suddenly dropped, and figured out that these Anbu were fleeing the village.
If the big boss Kido had been defeated, then there was nothing left for him to do. He would go back to his journey. And then Sasuke left this place...
This was how Sakura imagined the events that had so recently taken place there.
“I dunno.” Naruto shrugged. “Doing what needs to be done, and then up and disappearing, that sounds pretty much like Sasuke.”
“It really does.” Sakura giggled. But she was glad to just be able to feel these lingering echoes of this “Sasuke-ness.”
So as you can see, the fact that Sasuke didn’t opt to meet with them didn't even upset Sakura much, not just because she agreed with Naruto that it was a very Sasuke-like thing to do, but more importantly, because she knew this meant that despite Sasuke ignoring the village’s previous pleas for help, thinking that they should take care of it themselves, when it came to Sakura, saving her was something that he wanted to do, and he came back of his own accord, for her sake. That speaks volumes regarding how Sasuke felt about her, and Sakura knew that. Therefore, when considering Sakura’s earlier insecurities about how special she was to him, this was a very positive note to leave the novel on.

“ every piece of me is made from what you did to me. ”
[ lost meme | @suck-my-tomato | verse; post modern ]
The city lights are fuzzy; little halos of color either holding still or blinking in the near distance. She's on her fourth cigarette — chain smoking through the fresh pack in the hopes that she'll smoke out every last molecule of oxygen in her lungs. Each one was gnawed down to the filter before she flicked them over the edge and watched the free fall with a churn of jealousy. The rooftop of her 17-story apartment building was usually vacant; and especially so, at this hour. But for whatever god forsaken reason, Sasuke had conjured at her side. He's quiet; almost as if respecting her chosen solitude. How he wound up finding her, Kimiko didn't bother asking. She wish he hadn't bothered: her mind was made up already, but his presence only made things harder than they had to be. He doesn't say anything, and neither does she. A stalemate is formed in the wake of their strangled silence — all of those things left unsaid were discarded like the flick of excess ashes. "You said you wouldn't leave again." His voice rolls over the background trill of an ambulance siren; Kimiko's sunken and dulled stare trails the miniature vehicle as though mildly entertained by the flashing lights and the curiosity of who was awaiting their arrival. Her exhale of secondhand smoke filters through pressed lips, cancer hanging from them as she taps her thumb on the rim of her open bottle. It was well tended to: she'd been nursing the amber liquid for the majority of the night. "I'm right here, aren't I?" She replies to him, voice raspy. Another little swig is passed through her lips in the hopes that it'll provide some lubricant for her throat. Since he was here to have yet another 'talk.' At least it couldn't end as horridly as the last one did — his rejection in lieu of their reignition had sent the naively hopeful Tamashi reeling. 'I can't do this. I've changed; I don't cheat anymore.' The taste of that wretched poison still remained stained on the back of her tongue. No amount of whiskey could wash it down, though she's been giving it a good try. Kimiko had begun to believe that no amount of liquor would make that horrid truth dissipate. Someone deserved the newly-loyal version of Sasuke.. but Kimiko would never get that kind of special treatment. She would never be his 'someone', again. "You stopped showing up to meetings." Sasuke explains on the exhale of a little sigh. If Kimiko had bothered to look over at him, she'd noticed that not only was he refusing to look at her as well, but that tear-tracks were engraved into his cheeks. The two had become fairly fluent in the language of shedding their pain silently when next to one another. "You stopped responding to me." He adds this on quieter, and she can hear the shift of his rain jacket as he adjusts uncomfortably. Kimiko didn't have the stomach to block his number, this time. But the duality of their fallen-star situation included not having the guts to pick up the phone when his name and number lit up the screen. In truth, she wasn't taking this rejection well ( obviously ). The murmured words of endearment they had shared, the mutual look of delicate yearning, and the hesitancy of their lips meeting that quickly thereafter bloomed into indescribable passion — it had elicited a wash of relief over the weary girl. He understood her at last. He needed her just as much as she needed him. He still loved her. Or, at least — Kimiko had hoped he did. But then his phone buzzed right off of the table and he separated from their soft collision: and then he decided right then and there that Kimiko still wasn't enough. Or perhaps just too much. Either way it hurt. And it shouldn't have. It should have been expected, after all that time being the girl on the outskirts of his attentions; swept into the eye of the storm by her own persistence before she ( reluctantly, violently, silently, unfairly ) tore herself away until the cycle rolled over unto itself once again. "Why do you bother with me?" She asks at last, her voice strung in a loose drawl as she flicks the butt of her fourth
cigarette over the ledge of the building. "I'm nobody." Kimiko acknowledges her version of the truth as though it were simple fact. Following it is another sip from the bottle. He's saying something, and his voice sounds careful — like he was playing minesweeper and the stakes were unbelievably high. Unfortunately, Kimiko cannot even bring herself to listen: that horrid ache is back in her chest, calling glaring attention to the obvious hollow in the cavity. Gods, she was so tired of this existence. Everyone expected so much out of the girl who was worn down beyond her means to give. Even now, she was probably being judged and ridiculed for the ways in which she chose to cope: Sasuke probably assumed that he alone was the sole cause of all her woes, and he couldn't be further from the truth. But now she had nothing; except for a whole lot of pain. An unfillable ache that used to pang every now and again but had steadily worsened into a constant, unignorable throb. Something plucks the fabric of her jacket in between her shoulder blades and tugs her back a step ( or two, for she stumbled ). Kimiko rouses from her dissociative spell just in time to hear his request that she 'stop hanging over the ledge of the building, like that.' She hadn't even noticed; it's not like it very much mattered anyway. Everyone dies, she was well aware — and after playing the role of marionette all her life, the sole Tamashi ought to have a choice in her own demise, at the very least. But she heeds his warning, hands dipping into her pockets only to peek at her carton and realize that she'd run herself dry. Yeah, go figure. She'd be pissed at herself, if she even had the energy to be anything in this moment other than dully despondent ( but mostly numb ). Sasuke is speaking again, perhaps trying to get through to the girl; but she's hardly present for any of it. The rain has begun to shed tears upon the two, and Kimiko lifts her chin to the sky in quiet acceptance. “ every piece of me is made from what you did to me. ” It's one of the only sentences that got through to her. Droplets run down her face and blend in with her expressionless tears; or so she hopes. If that was supposed to slice her through, if it was supposed to provide some sort of comfort in knowing that she had left any kind of impact upon the Uchiha, — it didn't. She told herself that it didn't, blinking past the wet that collected in her lashes and regarding him as though he were a mere stranger. But he wasn't, and she resented herself for still hanging onto his every word as though they alone would decide her fate. His lingering stare is tumultuous, like the roiling waves of the sea. Whether he was hurt, afraid, disgusted, pleading, hopeful — her response wouldn't have changed. "You don't think I'm well enough aware of what I've done to you? You don't think that every single action and inaction on my behalf doesn't stick to me, make it harder to go through the simple motions of my day?" Her tone is clipped, or it could expose her obvious exhaustion: she wanted to be frustrated, but her tank had been neglected and left on E. Instead, she just hums a little sigh, shoulders dipped beneath the weight of all she'd been made to carry over the years. "As much as I'd love to stick around and hear the details of all the ways I've wounded you," I think I'd rather die. "I think I'd rather just be alone." So, she turns and heads towards the door to return to her mothball infested apartment just to hear the sound of those letters as they crinkle forgotten under her foot. "I'm not walking out," She responds towards the door with the kind of strain that comes with persistent pressure upon an otherwise debilitated psyche. Hand upon the cool brass as the rain starts to pick up to an unrelenting downpour, Kimiko hesitates. This was so difficult; how the Tamashi wished for just one thing to be easy, like it used to be. For despite having nary a sliver of energy left in her shell, she decides to whittle her bones and dole out what little lie she could afford to sell him. "I just
need a little space right now. I'm trying to do what's best for you, for both of us. Just.. Trying to let go." So it wasn't totally a lie; though she wasn't trying nearly as hard as she ought to be. Turning her cheek to her shoulder, Kimiko lifts a single dimmed headlight beam and captures his lonesome visage upon the rooftop. It aches, oh how it fucking aches beyond belief. To leave him up here, abandon him despite his effort to find her. If she could have it her way, Kimiko would have encircled him into a permanent embrace — but it wasn't what he wanted, and no one deserved a disease. ".. I'll see you at next week's meeting, Sasuke." So she had it in herself to dish out one last measly lie, after all.

This is a battle manga, for God's Sake. It's not a family drama where you will see Husband and Wife having their lovey-dovey scenes very often. If this series was all about Sasuke, SakuTrash and Salad, then this is possible. Except that it's not!!!! It's all about Boruto and Kawaki, Naruto and Sasuke, Sarada and Mitsuki to an extent.
I just wanna say that I agree with this. But I don't exactly fault SS fans wanting lovey dovey SS since the Naruto/Boruto animes have so much unnecessary filler and added romance. BUT. I don't know why they'd expect it because like you said Boruto isn't about the SS family. Had it been then they probs would've gotten happy SS family content that didn't exist like with the NH family.
And as far as I know, the anime has never gone out of its way to add filler/romance for SS like they continuously did for NH. In contrast, the studio, SP, seems like they hate Sakura while they have a weirdly obsessive love for Hinata. So, Sakura never got any of that filler to further her romantic relationship that's actually nonexistent like Hinata.
I don't get the extreme shipper fans in this fandom. You pointing out that family moment that wasn't adapted should bother them. But they don't care? My guess is because it's strictly all about the ships with these people and they don't really care about what happens with the kids/families. (I can at least get on the same page there, Boruto shouldn't have ever existed, christ.)
Last thing, imo I just find it weird to write Sakura saying shit like "I'mma do better! I'll save them!" And then she does nothing. That just comes off as strange to me. Like how Hinata... what was her thing? She wasn't supposed to give up being a ninja and would work hard but in canon she only reached Chunin status and later quit being a ninja entirely. I wouldn't call this stuff bad writing per se, it's just odd and asinine to me.
And as far as I know, the anime has never gone out of its way to add filler/romance for SS like they continuously did for NH. In contrast, the studio, SP, seems like they hate Sakura while they have a weirdly obsessive love for Hinata.
Well, I get this statement from many people, Anon!!!! Is it in the context of Boruto? or Naruto? If this is about Boruto, I don't know which fillers they did go all smoochy smoochy for NH!!! And since Boruto has 77% of fillers, it really doesn't matter. Plus in the Manga, they interacted only in 6 panels so far and it's all about 'Do you want Tea?', 'Am going for shopping!!', 'Are you okay?, Naruto-kun' or something like this... So, she is Non-Existent here. If you are saying that Anime added more scenes for NH in the context of Naruto series, still.... apart from that extra flashback scene in Pain Arc, I didn't see any special scene for HinaTrash. I am not going to acknowledge that shitty The Last movie, so there is that.
In contrast, the studio, SP, seems like they hate Sakura while they have a weirdly obsessive love for Hinata. So, Sakura never got any of that filler to further her romantic relationship that's actually nonexistent like Hinata.
This I agree but disagree as well!! If this is about Boruto, SS got plenty of extra scenes together. Anime even toned down Sasuke's facial reaction to be a bit more pleasant around Sarada whereas in Manga, he looked terrible.  If this is about Naruto, I agree with the lack of fillers for SS. But Sakura got plenty of extra scenes with Naruto. And because of that NaruSaku fandom got serious and still exists. Even the Anime production staffs got disappointed about NH because they expected Naruto to end up with Sakura. They love Sakura and self-inserted her in many places along with Naruto to make her more likeable.  [[Disclaimer: NaruSaku fans!!! Please don't read any further... Am going to be very critical here. It’s not about the ship but the way Anime team handled their relationship especially Naruto.]]
There are some NaruSaku fans who concocts story that Naruto just saw Sasuke as a Brother but was sexually attracted to Sakura. Sexually means just like how Jiraiya was attracted to Tsunade. And they almost make Naruto as a pervert at the same level as Jiraiya!!!! I completely detest those fans!!!! And why did they come to this conclusion? It's all because of those fucking extra scenes in the canon episodes!!!
While I completely agree with the fact that both of them had spent a good screen time enough to become a couple atleast bazillion times better than that Pinata trash. But how could they ignore the fact that Sakura was super obsessive with Sasuke sexually throughout the series???? Yes, I agree there are certain moments where she was nice towards Naruto, She cried for him, yadda yadda... But who doesn’t??? Shikamaru also got back from his half-death state just to help out Naruto. Compared to this, Whatever Sakura did for Naruto is nothing. People can ship anyone they like with any other person. Who am I to stop? But spouting lies blatantly is just irritating especially because of the extra scenes!!!!
I don’t mind Anime team adding extra scenes like Sakura making Food Pills and stuffs... Those were really good. Like they can add however much they want between Naruto and Pinky...  But there are many extra scenes in Canon Episodes that made Naruto into a pervert or a lowly simp for Sakura which he is not.
Like this...
This is when Jiraiya trains Naruto for Summoning Jutsu. Since Naruto has to put his life on the line, Jiraiya asks Naruto to fulfil his final wishes, like taking Hot Bath, Eating Ramen and hugging a girl that he likes.
Tumblr media
This scene is not in the Manga and this gives off the vibe that Naruto is a pervert who likes to hug Sakura using cheap tricks..
This following scene is when Naruto was trying to add an extra teammate to pursue Sasuke since Kakashi was beaten so bad after Kazekage retrieval arc. The following monologue is not in the Manga.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since when did Naruto gave two fucks about Pinky fretting over other boys? Yeah, he usually gave some shit when she frets over Sasuke, though!!! But when Lee was trying to flirt with her, he just didn’t react for that.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Is this scene necessary???? This scene screams Naruto is Jiraiya - version 2... Which he absolutely is not!!! Like wanting to peek Sakura is simply not funny at all. And why would Naruto wants Sakura to be pleased about his dick??? Geez!!! No wonder some NaruSaku shippers think Naruto is sexually interested in her and even claims that he has a weakness for her.
Tumblr media
Aaaaand Then this!!!!!! Geeez!!! The Anime had tried so hard to make us believe that he is doing this for the promise he made to Sakura.
This is not in the Manga at all.!!! He talked about that promise only at the end of Part 1. After that he never mentioned about it anywhere until we get a flashback between Naruto and Sai.
Then this extra scene.
Tumblr media
This entire scene was not in Manga at all. But still even if you ask Naruto’s greatest pain, he would still stay his horrible childhood days... which is acceptable, Sasuke leaving him, which is reasonable (It’s not because I am an SNS shipper that I am agreeing with this. Naruto literally displayed VoTE1 scene to entire Shinobi Alliance as his greatest regret. So it’s entirely believable)... Losing Jiraiya which is A-Ok again...... Why the fuck hurting Sakura when he was in 4 tailed state is here????? I mean... is this believable???? How can Jiraiya’s death and hurting Sakura is comparable in any way???? Why are they portraying Naruto like this?
And then this abomination.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I just got Furious with this shit!!!!! In the original confession Naruto never talks about SakuTrash at all. It was entirely about Naruto and Sasuke alone. The only outsider name that got mentioned in this confession is Iruka Sensei.
Tumblr media
Why are they self inserting her in places she shouldn’t be???? Like this is super disgusting to digest!!!!
So, there are totally 5 OOC extra scenes for a ship that’s not going to be canon!!!! What is the point in all of this??? Even for SNS, we didn’t get these many extra scenes, man!!!
Again, am telling you. Am not a person who is against adding extra scenes. But adding a scene that develops or elevates the relationship between two characters are okay. Like that making food pills scene!!! They could’ve added a scene where Naruto and Sakura talk about something or having a walk together.... All these are perfectly fine.
But Naruto thinking about her constantly or talking about her fondly to someone else is just plain wrong. Because these are the gesture you do only when you love someone so deeply. Naruto talking about Sasuke to someone else is not OOC at all. But all these scenes about Sakura are very wrong. It doesn’t improve Sakura’s image in any way.... It just made Naruto looks like an Hard Core simp for Sakura.
Literally NaruSaku fans use these  scenes from Anime to claim that Naruto was interested in Sakura romantically which gives off the absolute heterosexual vibe and with Sasuke, they claim that he looks at him only as a brother. And I don’t blame those shippers entirely. When you look at everything I attached above, it really seems like Naruto was sexually interested in her. What a bad portrayal!!!!
And if someone claims that Anime team hates Sakura, show them these scenes. Studio Pierrot probably don’t like SS, I guess, But they love NaruSaku. That’s why even in Boruto Anime, they go out of their way to add a scene between Sakura and Naruto in the last episode. Whereas in Manga, they are yet to share a scene together!!!
Like how Hinata... what was her thing? She wasn't supposed to give up being a ninja and would work hard but in canon she only reached Chunin status and later quit being a ninja entirely. I wouldn't call this stuff bad writing per se, it's just odd and asinine to me.
She is just another version, a mild and soft hentai, version of Pinky who just says something but absolutely never do anything about it!!!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She is spouting the same shit throughout the series. Atleast she should’ve become a Jounin who can help his husband by carrying out missions...!!!!
Tumblr media
“Um.... I brought Tea!!!”.... Version 1 - Narutoverse
Tumblr media
“Is Tea Okay?”.... Version 2 - Borutoverse...
All she ended up doing with her Ninja Way was serving Tea!!! So, basically She didn’t do Jackshit about anything!!!!!
I am done with this NH and SS shippers expecting steamy romantic scenes for their ship!!! They are not even realizing that this is a show that targets young kids from age 12 where romance between 32 year old Adult looks fuck ugly to watch. We never saw any romance in Original Naruto series and how can they expect it here??
What the show runners will aim for is the development between the Kid characters.. like Boruto and Kawaki.... or between a parent and a Kid... Like Kawaki and Naruto... or Sasuke and Boruto. It feels disgusting that NH shippers was not even guilty about Hinata being excluded from Boruto’s life entirely.
All we can do is to eat popcorn and enjoy their rants!!!

Yukimura:
a…. Girl?
Hmm… I dunno. Haven’t put much thought into this one. But it’d be funny if his child was a girl.
He… Doesn’t know how to react to his baby girl.
Maybe it’s bc he has no idea how to treat her, but when she’s a baby, he does talk and interact with her more
Okay, let’s timeskip to the future and your daughter is now…. 7.
Yukimura probably has a tendency to avoid girls other than MC, and I think that also goes with his daughter… Not because he doesn’t like her, but because he has no idea how to care for her.
She grows up with a ton of toys… But….
QUESTION WHY ‘Daddy won’t spend time with me’
YOU’RE LIVID- Tbh, I would smack him for that and Shingen or Sasuke wouldn’t even be able to hold her back, and Kenshin would be impressed….
He does end up spending time with her tho.
It’s awkward at first
And then he opens up, even if he’s grumbling about the messy makeup and mess at the end of the day.
It’s not surprising that since Yuki wasn’t in her life, she usually goes to Shingen for help bc he’s been so open
Yuki actually cries at that, but only with you… there was this one time she actually caught him crying, so she started crying and it became this mess of “Stop crying” “no u-”
They bond pretty quickly after that lol
LOts of outings and helping Yuki to sell goods :3
Any piggy backs
Yes.
Lots of piggy backs
He has become so cute wtf
Kenshin:
A boy…. then a girl... I think.
So I stan an overprotective father here for his daughter, in the very least.
That’s not because his son is ‘too weak’- It’s the fact that culturally and in that time period, he’s supposed to be the stronger one.
Kenshin teaches him the art of sword-fighting from the age of 5, but soon realises that he’s much more into Senbon and, well… Flowery stuff. It’s good, in a way, since his son has quite the feminine face shape and your eyes. It’s a very good thing, actually. He’d make a successful ninja-
So that’s what he becomes, xD
Together with Sasuke, Kenshin trains him in the art of ninja skills. It’s significantly more interesting to him, maybe because you’ve told him random stories you’ve read from your time.
There’s fluff time too- You pretty much bring all the warlords together and teach them how to sew. Yuki too, because Shingen and you have told him it’s the exact same thing as sewing a wound and practice is good.
Kenshin’s baby girl is a complete treat to the whole family.
You know she’s bound to be spoiled in the same way as you- With probably twice as much gifts as he gives you, and his special fatherly-love.
“I hope you remember she’s a baby, Kenshin… No stop- A dagger isn’t suitable for a baby-”
So it’s a lot of cooing, playing with toys given to her by both Shingen and Kenshin and cuddles…
YES CUDDLES ARE EVERYTHING-
Ironically or not, the boy also becomes protective of his mother and his younger sister, no matter how young he is. He’s spent quite a bit of time with Kenshin, after all.
Ngl, but I think when the girl is older, she’s not gonna like the over-protectiveness. So expect a lot of ninja work by her brother, joined by Sasuke bc Kenshin doesn’t trust everyone to be safe xD
She still, notices them tho….
*Cue scolding by Daughter bc of of irritation*
MC does nothing to help bc they honestly deserved it xD
Nobunaga:
A son… I mean what did you expect?
So Nobunaga and his son are the most endearingly domineering… pair?
I mean your son’s personality stems directly from Nobunaga, despite having your looks and that does make you wonder why, since you spend the most time with him.
Nobunaga’s probably the busiest man on Earth. So when he does find time to spend with his son, they’re the most mischievous pair. You’re not even surprised when Masamune joins in one day, with Mitsuhide just chucking away at the sight.
Hideyoshi doesn’t even try when they get to this messy point, and to be fair neither do you. If you stopped them, they’d casually rope you into the mess.
You’ve long learnt to leave them be when they’re like this.
You pretty much take over the castle when they’re playing- Can’t have the castle’s structure falling apart because of a handful of idiots, right?
Hideyoshi still hasn’t learnt his lesson, it seems-
The two of them are always thieving konpeito from the kitchens and screwing around the castle in the most ridiculous ways.
You swore they had somehow once gotten hold of some black paint (or was that charcoal?), only to end up fully covered in the colour…
You only found out after nearly giving Nobunaga a back massage- His back was COVERED in the pigment. Obviously, your son had dropped a handful and some down his clothes and back.
Honestly? You just sighed at their antics and dragged him by the ear to the bathhouse. And you can’t even say anything when he drags you in, fully clothed.
When Nobunaga does spend time with his son, the adrenaline and joy just lasts until the following morning when he’s slept it off. It’s very different from the type of adrenaline from war- Less stress and fear, and more joy and… out of control actions.
So expect an extremely hyper Nobunaga when you both retire to your bedroom…
Mitsuhide:
A girl. I don’t budge. … Okay, maybe a baby boy in the future, but for now? Just a baby girl.
So Mitsuhide’s one of those ‘I-never-expected-to-be-this-happy’ or ‘I-never-expected-to-one-day-have-a-family-of-my-own’ warlords.
So when you announce you were having a baby, he just… freezes. Like one of those signature ‘holy-crap-what’ freezes.
He’s so silent you swore you broke him. But when you reach out to press a hand against his cheek, he turns, presses a deep, loving kiss to your palm. He’s exceptionally gentle with you now as he draws you to his chest, thanking you for every miracle you’ve given him.
So I also headcannon that Mitsuhide’s the epitome of practicality y’all… Like he’s so busy he doesn’t have time for anything he deems ‘useless’... or will he buy things that will never be used.
So expect some gender-neutral toys and tiny clothes for your young one, even before she’s born.
Did I mention he’s also quite protective of you? That doubles or triples when he finds out you’re pregnant. And again, when he finds out it’s a girl after birth.
Literally. It has to be either him or Kyubei with you and the ‘little one’. AT ALL TIMES.
Mitsuhide’s the only one he’ll allow to care for the your- and his- daughter when you’re busy with something. On occasion, it’s Kyubei, but it does mean that he and his daughter must be in the same room.
More than often, this ends up with Mitsuhide being W E A K for his daughter’s laugh and dropping his work- That can always be finished later, after all.
Dress up. Make up. Toys. Games. Anything. Mitsuhide would literally kill for some time with his daughter.
When she was younger, Mitsuhide used to cradle her against his chest, whispering sweet stories or singing to her as she giggled from the vibration of his low voice.
Now that she’s older, he spends his time with her carefully. Teaching her with gentle teasing- Something she’s become accustomed to
NGL, but Kyubei ends up being her ‘older brother’ figure when she grows up.
The look on Mitsuhide’s face when she says she wants to marry Kyubei is gold.
Just don’t let Masamune hear okay?
